Kaz Brekker x reader - Kaz secretly crushing on you and being protective

May I request a fic for kaz where he’s secretly crushing on a girl in the dregs and is protective of her and tries to tell her how he feels?

- So we all know that emotions and feelings are something quite hard for Kaz. But it doesn't mean that he doesn't feel anything. Because he does. Especially for you.

- Kaz has been having feelings for you since he saw you holding Nina while she was crying because of Mathias. As much as Kaz was sad for the death of their fellow Fjerdan, he couldn't deny those little butterflies that he felt in his stomach when he saw you trying to calm down that Ravkan woman even though you were also quite hurt by this loss.

- Since that day Kaz has promised himself to protect you from any harm.

- Obviously he didn't tell you any of that because he is Dirtyhands after all. No one can know that he actually goes through human feelings.

- The young man knows that you can take care of yourself but that won't stop him from being overprotective.

- The man is all about respect with so even though he is worried about 24/7, he will never forbid you to do anything even something reckless. Because you are a free person and have the right to do whatever your heart desires.

- But that won't stop him from trying to protect as much as he can though.

- Firstly, every time you go on a mission for the Dregs you can expect him to go with you. And if he can't go (with it very rare because it's you) he'll send his most trusted people instead of him.

- If you go on missions together, you can always expect to stand right next to him, as close as possible, preferably with his cane in his hand positioned in front of you in a very protective way.

- Whenever you were together outside he'll make sure to look at everyone around you two to make people understand that if they even thought about hurting you then... well no one lived to tell the tale so no one actually knows what happens

- After a few months like that, rumours started to spread and quickly enough you caught on to them but chose to stay silent because you thought they were silly.

- But that doesn't mean that the others chose to do the same.

- The moment Jesper heard of the rumours, he ran from his and Wylan's house back to the Barrel and before Kaz could even register the fact that the sharpshooter came back, the Zemeni man started pestering with questions about you two.

- Kaz obviously denied everything but Jesper knew better and didn't believe a word he said.

- So after some convincing (and a few threats) Jesper promised no to say a thing even though he really wanted to.

- A few weeks later, you were the one to notice those changes in Kaz's demeanour and after a few hours of thinking you came to the conclusion that he indeed liked you. A thought that you didn't actually believe but was still the only logical explanation.

-  So you decided to verify your theory.

- Which led you to trying to hint to Kaz your suspicions. And when Kaz understands that you are quite aware of his feelings for you, something very unexpected happens.

- Kaz blushes.

- His usual pale face becomes reddish, especially his cheeks, and he is speechless.

- So like any brave man would do.

- The Brekker boy just leaves.

- Even though he didn't say anything something between you happened.

- Almost like an agreement.

- He was yours as much as you were his.

- And that really became official during a Dregs meeting.

- Everyone who was asked to come were silently waiting in Kaz's office for the two of you.

- And when you finally arrived, instead of taking a seat next to him like usual, you take his seat behind his desk, and he stands behind the chair, a non gloved hand on your shoulder.

- And from that day on, believe you became the most badass couple the Barrel has ever seen.

So instead of doing a one-shot I did headcannons. Hope that’s okay. It’s a bit short but school has been quite something lately (I am right now Terminale which is high school’s last year in France and it’s more difficult than I thought...)
