If Kory and Dick ever had a chance if rekindling. What do you think that would look like? There’s something beautifully about lovers coming back to each other after so much time has passed and now being more mature with a slice of hurt and tragedy of the past still hanging over what happened to their relationship. They were so young and had so much on their shoulders when they were introduced to each other and now they are older and wiser.
i agree it can be so beautiful !!! there’s always a bittersweet tinge to the whole thing like “what we had was good”. Kory and Dick are 100% a “right person, wrong time” case to me. They were just really young and going through a lot of changes and add the whole tumultuous superhero double-life thing and things get messy. The cards were stacked against them. But i do feel like if given the chance, years after the fact and after both have grown up and softened, they could make it work. It would need a lot of work though, especially from Dick’s side. He would need to be more understanding of Kory’s point of view and confront his control issues. For Kory, she would need to work on her self-esteem and abandonment issues. While the two can absolutely help each other with these issues, it would be better if they tried to resolve them on their own because these two can become codependent. They would also need to work on their (excessive) sense of duty. This is where I feel like both can help each other out. Dick’s always had issues regarding his undying loyalty to Bruce and often needs a third party to pull him out of it. And for Kory, i get the sense hers has something to do with her abandonment issues. Like ‘if i don’t do this then everyone will leave me’ type thing. Having someone there to remind her that no, you are loved and wanted and you don’t have to do this would help her loads. This doesn’t mean they should never help out gotham or tamaran, it just means that when things get out of hand, the other is there to support.
If i had my way, in pre-52 continuity, they would have rekindled after Dick’s batman era. He’s done the ultimate “bearing my father’s burden” duty and frankly needs to reconnect with his own ideals and identity again. We all know the big role Kory (& the titans ofc) played in helping Dick step out of Batman’s shadow and forge his own path so this could be like a callback to that. Both are older, mature and now have gained a new understanding of each other’s circumstances (Dick finally recognising Kory’s duty and devotion to Tamaran and Kory understanding more of Dick’s thought process and morals while assimilating into Earth). They’re acutely aware of the others (and their own) faults that lead to the breakdown of the relationship in the first place BUT can also recognise that what they had was good while it lasted. And they still love each other, even after all these years. It doesn’t matter where they are or what mask they wear , they’ll always be there for the other and see them for who they truly are. And you know what, why not give it another shot? They’ll figure things out as they go because they both know that when they’re together - it just feels right.

Dad Jokes (1)
When Garfield arrived home from work, he certainly hadn’t expected a cloud of smoke taking over the living room.
“Uh… Raven?” He strolled into the kitchen while waving his hand around to swift away the smoke consuming the room.
The first thing he spotted through the thick smog was a frustrated Raven on her tippy-toes balancing on a chair attempting to quiet down the fire alarm by smacking it with a cleaning rag. She donned the cute, purple, flowery apron Garfield had gifted her a few months ago for April Fool’s.
“Uh… What’s going on..?” he questioned with raised eyebrows and an amused half-grin.
Raven finally managed to smack the alarm off its place, and it fell to the ground with a loud crash and a dying squeal. She turned around with a grimace and glared daggers at the small device. Then she levitated off the chair and let out a loud sigh.
“Cooking,” she told him as she untied her apron and swung it over the chair.
Garfield approached her with a goofy smirk, “You sure you weren’t just trying to burn the condo down?”
Raven crossed her arms and huffed out, “What are you doing here so early?”
“Well, my boss told me to have a good day…” Raven arched an eyebrow and Garfield let out a hearty chuckle before explaining further, “So I came home,” he shrugged.
“Ha, ha,” Raven deadpanned with a roll of her eyes. She turned back to the stove and removed the practically burnt pans. How she had managed that? He could only guess.
“Gee Rae, did you take one of Kory’s recipes?” he joked as he stared at the dark, gooey substance inside.
“Of course not,” she muttered through gritted teeth. She slumped down on the chair with a frown. “Even Kory’s ‘healing’ soup tastes better.”
“Aw, come on! It can’t be that bad!” Garfield reassured before taking a spoonful. He instantly regretted his actions as the bitter taste stuck to his tongue even after spitting it back out. “God Rae, what is it supposed to be?”
“Curry.”
“Yeah… Maybe you should try something simpler? Or maybe you should just let me do the cooking,” he chuckled as he placed his arms around her shoulders. He buried his nose into the crook of her neck and inhaled a swift of her lavender-scented shampoo. “Why were you trying to cook, anyway? You hate cooking.”
“One of my coworkers brought up the topic of homestyle recipes and when I told her I didn’t cook, she stared at me like I had two heads. She couldn’t believe that I was married and didn’t cook the meals. So I decided to try it… Hence the mess.”
Garfield frowned and turned her to face him, “Since when do you care that a coworker berates you for not knowing how to cook? Not to mention we’re not in the twentieth century.”
Raven shrugged and got up from her seat. She turned away from him and hugged herself. “Gar… Remember how we talked about the fact that I’m infertile because of my half-demon, half-human composition..? And that we’d consider adopting a few years from now? Until we got settled and bought a house?”
“... Yeah…” Garfield nodded. He felt his intestines doing acrobatics inside his gut, unsure of where she was going.
Raven turned to face him, “I don’t know how it happened. It might just be that your own shape-shifting abilities allow your DNA to adapt but…” her eyes trailed down to the floor and with a small peep she admitted, “I’m pregnant.”
A wave of ecstasy crashed into him so hard he felt light-headed. His beam rivaled the Cheshire Cat’s, and he bounded towards her, lifting her in one swift movement and twirling her in the air. Raven appeared dazed as if the reaction came completely unexpected. When he finally put her back down, he gazed at her with wide eyes and a white-toothed grin, “How did you find out?”
“... I don’t know. I woke up this morning, and I just knew. I stopped by at the pharmacy before work to make sure… and I was right,” she responded. Her face twisted with apprehension and confusion, “You’re not disappointed?”
“Rae, why the hell would I be disappointed with news like that?”
“I thought you wanted to wait…” she murmured.
Garfield sighed and lifted her chin with one finger, “Rae, the best surprises come by unexpected. I don’t care if our plan didn’t go quite as we hoped for it to go. If anything, nothing ever goes as we plan it and even if it doesn’t, things always fall into place for us,” he put his forehead against hers and grasped her hands, “Because we both deserve destiny to reward us after everything we’ve gone through,” he placed a hand against her stomach, “And this is the best gift it could ever give me.”
Raven smiled a little, “I really wanted to try to be like a normal wife. Ever since Vic gave us these bracelets as a wedding gift and we adopted this whole new life, new identity, new jobs… and now that we’re going to have a baby, I don’t know… I thought I had to learn how to cook because that’s what mothers do.”
He let out a soft chuckle and shook his head, “I don’t want a normal wife, Rae. I’d never have started dating the daughter of an interdimensional demon if I desired that. I just want you because you’re the best wife I could ever have, and I love you.”
“I love you too,” she smiled before giving him a peck on the lips.
After pulling away, they gazed at each other for a few seconds. Garfield left his hand on her stomach while the other played with a loose strand of her hair. “Want to hear a joke?” he asked.
Raven furrowed her eyebrows, “... Why?”
“I figure now that I’m going to be a dad, I have to start practicing my dad jokes,” he grinned. “What do you call someone with no body and no nose?”
She hesitated before asking, “What?”
“Nobody nose!”
Raven frowned, “Azar, this better not become a norm for you. It's like factoid Gar all over again.”
Garfield smirked.
A/N: This is a continuation of Garfield’s Five Facts About Ravens. Someone gave me a really cute idea, and I decided I want to go through with the sequel! I hope y’all liked it :)
