as far as hetalia goes, Arthur has been trying for the last two decades to reconcile with his eldest son until finally they’re fighting a war on the same side, they’re cooperating together, they’re pulling each other’s asses out of muddy trenches and stitching each other up, and it looks like Alfred is finally, finally warming up to the possibility of being allies and maybe friends. and Arthur is so pleased to have him actually contributing and using his influence to shape world affairs like Arthur knew he could. and then. oh. oh no. Alfred wasn't joking about his idealistic treaty. he wasn’t joking about the league or showing leniency to the Germans or independence for the Poles. worse, now he feels like Arthur used him the whole time just to win the war and now that they’re meeting to discuss the peace, Alfred pulls him aside, tears him a new asshole, and fucking disowns him. again. and oh, oh shit hold on Alfred wait it wasn’t like that--

and to be fair, I think Alfred’s pretty heartbroken too? like he took Arthur off a pedestal long ago, but recently he’s actually been-- not rebuilding the pedestal, but at least rebuilding Arthur’s imagine in his mind. and things were looking okay, Arthur was listening and he wasn’t even talking down to him, he actually acted like he wanted Alfred there and was sincerely appreciative of his help, things were changing. and then it turns out Arthur and Francis and the entire Allied delegation fucking lied about even considering the American proposals for the treaty, they just wanted to get the Germans to the negotiating table. and like the worst part is. well. what the hell did you expect, Alfred? you knew better than to let your father disappoint you again and yet here we are for the fucking millionth time.

meanwhile Arthur is just face-down on the floor like. none of this was intentional I didn’t lie I was actually listening to you I just genuinely misunderstood and now I’m trying to change Francis’s mind because you do have some good ideas and I don’t think you’re an idiot I swear 

yeah anyway by the end of WW1 I don’t think Arthur’s still upset about the Revolution and independence? something that i like about lyn (my consular) and em (my inquisitor)’s dynamic is how they both use each other to learn more about the ‘opposite’ side of the force

they’re both deeply curious about the force! they want to understand how it works! but just diving right in would be dangerous for both of them, for different reasons, so they use each other to discuss and philosophise and debate, and they both love it

something that i still want to write more about, specifically, is em thinking that lyn is fucking insane for claiming to not be motivated by her emotions/passions. because as far as em sees it, everything that lyn does is inspired by her anger and passion. she wouldn’t deny that lyn’s as light-side as it comes, but she does spend a lot of time insisting that the desire to protect is a productive manifestation of anger

which is something that lyn finds difficult to understand. between her upbringing by the jedi, her dissociation from her sacking trauma and being autistic, emotions are something that lyn finds extremely complicated and difficult to really grasp. so em might as well be talking in another language when she goes on about it

Sure have! #I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play. #I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks. #Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere. #Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios. #The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*. #This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those. #Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human. #Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her. #She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist. #The damsel was the dragon all along! #...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.
