Saving Grace -Part 1

Summary: Steve leaves you and your son to go back to Peggy unaware your pregnant.

Your heartbroken and struggling without Steve until Bucky Barnes steps up to help you out. With you and Bucky growing closer everyday will he be your saving Grace?

(Takes place after The Avengers defeat Thanos and people lost in the snap are back).

A/N -Sorry summary sucks! If i say too much it will give things away!

The service for Tony was an emotional day for everyone, my heart broke for Pepper and little Morgan. I had stood beside Steve holding his hand trying to provide him with some comfort, i knew how important Tony was to him....even after their differences.....Loosing Tony and Nat had broken us all.

Steve held our son Harrison in his arms, who was fast asleep with his head resting on his daddies shoulder as he spoke quietly with Bucky and Sam.

"Im just going to use the bathroom, i'll be right back" i said quietly to Steve who nodded quickly before turning his attention back to his friends.

When i came out of the bathroom Wanda was waiting outside for me, she smiled sadly before stepping forward and wrapping her arms around me.

"How you doing Wanda?"

"Ive been better" she stepped back and shrugged "I'm still grieving for Vis, then i come back to find out we lost Nat and then Tony...."

"I know, its tough. We just have to be there for each other, we will get through this. We have to for them..... they'd kick our asses if they saw us moping around and giving up"

"I know" Wanda nodded in agreement as a small smile spread across her lips.

"I need to get some water, im not feeling too great...." i said holding a hand to my stomach, Wanda's eyes suddenly went wide as she looked at my hand.

"Oh my god.... are you...?"

"Yeah.... you cant say anything Wan. Steve doesn't even know yet"

"You haven't told him?"

"Didn't seem like the right time.....i only found out 2 days ago and what with everything going on here...."

"Maybe some good news would help"

"I don't think so, Steve's been kinda distant since all this happened. His shutting me out"

"Oh sweetie I'm sure he doesn't mean to, you should talk to him"

"Ive tried, he just leaves the room" i shrugged sadly trying my best to pretend that it wasn't tearing me apart that he was pushing me away.

"Oh, his coming over" Wanda said quietly looking behind me.

"Hey" i smiled at Steve who was still holding a sleeping Harrison.

"Hey, we should get him home"

"Sure" i nodded quickly and hugged Wanda "if you need me for anything just call or stop by okay?"

"Thank you Y/N, bye Steve"

"Goodbye" Steve took my hand and lead the way out to the car. After carefully strapping Harrison into his carseat and closing the door Steve pulled me into his arms and pressed a kiss to my lips.

"What was that for?" I asked looking up into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Im sorry, for pushing you away. I didn't even realise i was doing it...."

"You heard my conversation with Wanda...."

"Yeah" he nodded and gave me a small smile.

"How much exactly did you hear?" I asked feeling my heart racing suddenly at the thought of him hearing i was pregnant!

"Enough to realise I've been neglecting my girl"

"Its okay, i understand...."

"Lets just go home" he gave me another kiss before opening my door for me.

"Steve there is something else i need to talk to you about" i said as he started up the car seconds later.

"Okay, we'll talk when we get home i promise".

We never got around to talking when we got home! Steve put Harrison to bed and then pulled me into the bedroom where he spent the rest of the night buried deep inside me, he fucked me hard and fast then soft and loving. I was exhausted by the time he finally settled beside me pulling me close to his chest.

Sometimes Steve forgot that i was just human, i didn't have his superhuman stamina!!

When i woke up the next morning i was alone in bed, the sheets were cold so he had been gone for a while. I pulled on his shirt and headed downstairs expecting to find him sat with Harrison but he wasnt there, Harrison was sat on the sofa watching cartoons with a bowl of cereal.

"Hey buddy, where's daddy?" I asked pressing a kiss to the top of his blonde head.

"He gone"

Looking around I spotted a note on the counter with my name on it and quickly opened it.

"Sorry to leave so early, im meeting Bruce, Sam and Bucky to take the stones back. We need to do it sooner rather than later.

I love you, Steve x"

I couldnt help the feeling of dread that suddenly passed through me.

"Harrison, come and get dressed quickly. We need to go find daddy".

After throwing on some clothes and tying my hair up quickly i made sure Harrison was dressed and we rushed out to the car. I was soon parking the car and making my way to the clearing that Bruce had been repairing the time machine at. I saw Steve stood on the platform wearing one of the time jump suits, case in one hand Thors hammer in the other.

"daddy!" Harrison squeeled happily pulling free from my hand and running towards his dad.

"Harrison wait!" I yelled, Steve looked over at us and smiled as the helmet closed over his face.

"Daddy!" Harrison shouted trying to get his attention.

"Woah little man!" I heard Sam say as he scooped Harrison up before he could reach Steve.

A second later Steve disappeared from the platform, and Bruce started his countdown to his return. I took Harrison from Sam with a thank you, i couldnt help but notice the look on Buckys face though.....He looked sad.

"He blew by his timestamp" i heard Bruce saying as he and Sam started a heated discussion.

"Bring him back!" Sam yelled at Bruce who was hitting buttons looking confused as to what had gone wrong.

Bucky turned to look at me with sad eyes, i didnt know Bucky very well but i could tell he was upset.

"His not coming back..." i said quietly to myself but of course Bucky heard.

"Im sorry.... i tried to talk him out of it"

"Ive got to go...." i turned to leave and Sam reached for my hand.

"Hey, we’ll get him back dont worry...."

"No we wont Sam" i snapped pulling away from him.

"Sam..." Bucky called making us look over at him, he was looking over at the lake where a man sat.... an old man, even from where i was stood i could tell it was him, Steve.

I turned and stormed back to my car with Harrison as i felt my heart breaking.
