Baby Tamale! I don’t have many photos of her in 2001. She looks so healthy here - the dead skin on her bloody ear tips had been removed and the wounds on her body were healed - so first four shots are likely 3 weeks after we found her. Insanely cute! 💗💗💗 She found a scrap of black fake fur and made it her favorite toy. I’m thinking of her so much tonight — it’s been 20 years since we had a kitten. And in a few weeks, we are getting one little girl, *possibly with a sister* - so stay tuned! 🌞💖🌞 Honestly: No kitty could ever compete with Tamale. She was and always will be my soulmate. Period. 🙏🏼 Our hearts are simply making room for more joy. Catdad is as excited as I am. 😸 Grief never goes away. But to quote Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Bobcat in motion! Catdad gave me a wildlife cam and this was our first video, from 2:30AM last night. Our fence is off-camera, just to the left. The bobcat turns after seeing the camera’s red dot, and heads to our neighbor’s on the other side of this cedar patch. Out of range but way back in this area is a new depression-possibly the bobcat’s den? In the cycle of wildlife, they feed on small animals including bunnies. We are hoping T-Bunny is ok but haven’t seen her in a few days, though that’s not unusual. (We have seen other bunnies daily.) Bobcats are like big wild pussycats, weighing on average 19 lbs. I used to walk with 3-4 of them on our property in CA. Notice the beautiful markings on this cat. 🐆 We’ll post more videos as we get them. Boxes for Special Needs: Friday night box collection... Tamale couldn’t jump into boxes. So I found boxes she could walk into. Sam’s Club used to have these in their freezers, and I’d dump out the contents 🙀 - and bring them home to Tamale. She loved being out on the deck, in a box. And her choice of box flavor changed with her mood. Though the long Cage Free box was her ultimate favorite.
