Green stans have the nerve to say that this show is biased in favor of the Blacks when their socials post nonsense like this:

On top of that, the showrunners have changed Alicent and Aemond so much in order to baby them that she's an entirely different character in the show, and he's taken multiple of his little brother's traits.

So which side is this show actually biased in favor of?

Just a reminder that the only reason Alicent Hightower survived the Dance of the Dragons is because her spiteful and ungrateful behind was touched by Rhaenyra’s mercy.

Alicent was supposed to be executed along with her snake of a father after the Blacks took King’s Landing.

Rhaenyra decided to spare Alicent because she knew how much Viserys loved his second wife. She honored her father by sparing this woman who bullied her since she was 8 years old and plotted to steal her throne.

That’s the definition of mercy.

And through Rhaenyra’s mercy, Alicent got an even better punishment than death: live long enough to watch everything she worked for blow up in her face while her entire line ended.

WTF ?!

Rhaenyra had no choice but to marry Laenor ! Viserys vetoed this in episode 4 ! It was an arranged marriage that was imposed on her !

Did this person even watch the show ?! Or rather as she likes to say, did she watch the show with her eyes closed ?!

They were forced to marry, but the agreement was made that once their duty was done, namely to provide an heir to the kingdom, they could sexually do whatever they wanted !

Unfortunately, they tried to have children, but were unsuccessful. So Rhaenyra turned to Harwin for agreement with Laenor.

That's what happened.

My god, the Green stans are pathetic, on top of being disgusting.

I'm hallucinating. This person is really twisted.

As Rhaenyra would say :

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you think aegon iii would have “healed from his trauma” with the daughter of his mother’s murderer then you’re delulu. the boy who wore black all his life? the boy that gave away jaehaera’s doll the first chance he got? the boy that was so discomforted by jaehaera’s presence that the maesters even noted how he was less discomforted by myrielle peake’s presence than jaehaera? it’s fine to have headcanons or whatever, but seriously. aegon iii would sooner ride a dragon than “heal” with the girl he was forced to marry.

Y’all realize that Rhaenyra was a DRUNK TEENAGER the night that she and Cole fucked right?? DRUNK TEENAGER and GROWN MAN (who took vows and if he really gave a damn about those vows, he’d have turned around, walked out and closed the door behind him) if anyone was a victim- it wouldn’t be the SOBER ADULT MAN, it would be the DRUNK TEENAGER!!!! Y’all really saying with your whole chest that the obviously DRUNK teenager forced the SOBER MAN into fucking her??? When that same man had been eye-fucking her for years????

Also, Alicent getting angry w/ Rhaenyra cuz she didn’t tell Alicent she got fucked is hypocritical because Alicent sure wasn’t in a rush to tell Rhaenyra about those nightly to visits to the king- you know, Rhaenyra’s FATHER. The same visits that started the night that the body of Rhaenyra’s MOTHER was burned??? The nightly visits that would’ve had Alicent being called a ‘loose woman’ and a ‘social-climbing whore’ if she’d been seen even once. And no, I don’t care that the king told her not to tell. I’d give anything to read a fic where those visits had been discovered.

i’ve never seen someone actually explain how Criston Cole got away with killing a noblemen and harming the heir of Driftmark IN PUBLIC during RHAENYRA’S wedding.

like realistically there should’ve been nothing to protect him from the law, not even Alicent. honestly that is why i could never fully say Viserys was a great man/king/father/husband/whatever because he should’ve had Cole immediately arrested and delt with once the commotion was settled, if not Viserys than Corlys as Cole literally punches Laenor in the face causing him to bleed, probably breaking his nose. one man dead, two heirs humiliated and one physically harmed, all literally during the princess’s very important political wedding with the entire court + other important noble houses in attendance- this is treason on some degree.

becoming Alicent’s personal knight wouldn’t have absolved him of his actions, so why was he never punished? in fact him never getting punished is what makes him think he’s allowed to act any way he wishes- mocking Rhaenyra and her children, especially with/in front of the Queen, killing those who support Rhaenyra at court (it wasn’t just that one lord on the council), he just feels so comfortable to act any way he wants and Alicent indulges him in that.

but WHY do Viserys and Corlys never hold him accountable? why is Cole never put on trail? why is he allowed to become the “Protector of the Queen” and train her children? it literally makes no sense and is one of the many show changes that i can’t stand because it makes no sense. any other king and Cole would’ve been killed or sent to the wall as punishment.

Kinda ironic Rhaenyra gets dubbed "Maegor the Cruel with Tits", when one of his most abominable deeds was supposed to be killing his nephew- Aegon the Uncrowned- on a much smaller dragon, which is exactly what Aemond did to Nyra's child.

Meanwhile Aemond gets a nickname and a statue out of it.

For me the whole question of who is the rightful heir to the throne and the whole reason why I am team black all the way is very simple. Rhaenyra is the rightful heir to the throne because Viserys, who was the King at the time, named her his heir and he got all the lords to swear fealty to her when he did. The King's word is law, it really is that simple.

It's the same with the whole Jace, Lucerys and Joffrey debate, I don't consider them bastards and therefore excluded from inheriting lands and titles because Viserys, the King at the time declared them, publicly and on several occasions as legitimate and the rightful heirs. We know from the og show that a king has the power to make a bastard legitimate so if Viserys is standing up in front of witnesses and saying these boys are legitimate then they are legitimate end off.

Also whilst on the subject I have seen claims in the past that Rhaenyra is trying to trick poor Corlys and Rhaenys into believing that those boys are Laenor's and that makes her an evil bitch of a whore apparently. But here's the thing, those boys are Laenor's, like he claimed them as his own, both he and Rhaenyra referred to them as their boys. We know that Rhaenyra and Laenor tried and failed to conceive a child and so they looked to other methods of producing an heir. Look I don't really like using modern day constructs etc when talking about medieval set stories but I can't think of a better way of explaining what I mean, but the way I see it is like if a couple want a child but can't conceive so they get a donor, using this donor they are able to have a child. You wouldn't then go around and say that the father wasn't really that child's father because they weren't genetically related. So what we essentially have is a couple using a donor situation but set in a medieval fantasy society which complicates matters. Unlike in a modern setting where the couple could be open and honest about using a donor, Rhaenyra and Laenor could not but it still doesn't change the fact that the three boys were planned by Laenor and Rhaenyra and were seen as their children. This isn't a Cersei/Robert situation where Cersei was trying to pass Jaime's kid's off as Robert's without Robert's knowledge. Everyone involved knew what was going on and agreed to it. Laenor knew that genetically they were Harwin's, Harwin understood that legally and in all other ways those boys were Laenor's and not his. Yes Harwin was involved in their lives, yes Harwin clearly loved those boys, yes those boys were lucky enough to have two men in their lives who loved them and cared and protected them in a fatherly way, but that doesn't change the fact that they were still Laenor's sons. Rhaenyra chose Harwin to have children with because he was someone she trusted and cared for and who she knew cared for her, considering in their society if Laenor's sexuality was discovered or it was discovered they had used Harwin as a 'donor' to have their children, it could have really bad consequences of course she would want to chose someone she was sure would keep her secret.

I guess my overall point here is that its not as simple as Rhaenyra lied to Corlys, Rhaenys and her own boys about who their real father was, because their real father was Laenor. This situation came about because both Rhaenyra and Laenor were under pressure to produce heirs, so they found a way, together, of producing those heirs, so really when Rhaenyra tells her boys that Laenor is their father its the truth, he is in every way that matters. When she tells Corlys and Rhaenys these are your grandchildren, again its the truth. Because at the end of the day if Laenor himself knew and agreed with how those boys came to be and considered them his own, then its no one else's business how Laenor and Rhaenyra had those children, they are still their children.

Anyway I've rambled on enough and its 2am where I live and I should really be getting some sleep. But yeah, as far as I am concerned Rhaenyra is the rightful heir and her three eldest boys are the true sons of Laenor and are legitimate and the rightful heirs of the throne and driftmark, I will not budge on that. Alicent, the greens and everyone else just needs to mind their own damn business when it comes to those boys.

ALICENT HIGHTOWER: The war will be fought, many will die, and the victor will eventually ascend the throne.

To be honest, when Alicent said that in the trailer, I was like, “Didn’t expect that when you plotted to usurp Rhaenyra all these years and now you care?”

She literally raised her children to hate their older sister and her children. What is she going to expect? That they gets along, singing kumbaya?

And again with these sad puppy eyes. It makes me infuriated. I’m so so sorry for what will happen to Helaena, but her family started the war.

People who insist that the Velaryon boys needed to be 'admitted' as bastards to be 'legitimized' are blatantly ignoring how feudal law works with irl and in asoiaf.

Laenor claims those boys (and was in on the knowledge whether they were or were not his) to the very last of his life. Corlys upholds this. Legally, they cannot be proven illegitimate- and thus legally, *they are legitimate.* they are legitimate, just surrounded by rumors. Like Aenys the first, like Duncan Targaryen.

And to hurl around accusations of children being bastards purely on their appearance is a stupid, DANGEROUS precedent to set. To interfere in the succession of houses not your own (aka, the greens meddling in Velaryon succession) is **a dangerous and bad precedent to set.**

A second son attempting to usurp his brother and liege lord's will while he is ill and dying, is **not supposed to be something you support.**

TG stans: “They made Rhaenyra wear the crown in the posters while Aegon doesn’t wear his. HBO is pro-Blacks biased.”

Aegon is dangling the crown in his hand to show that he doesn’t want it, which is canon accurate. Otto and Alicent practically forced him and Criston is the one who crowned him.

Rhaenyra wears the crown because she’s the rightful Queen, she wants to honor her father’s wish and she knows that she is House Targaryen’s last hope against the plots of the Hightowers and the Faith.
