hi, could you write a Jotaro × reader fic where the reader cut their hair from chest-length to really short hair? (like the difference is really noticable, the reader themself would feel much less insecure, like this hair length is what they were born to have yk? so they would be really happy, smiling a lot and overall their vibe would change from gloomy and blue to jumpy and confident!) This time, you decided to cut your hair.

You had been asking for Jotaro's opinion on the matter, and he had been reluctant to give any answers at all.

The hair salon was really quiet, You smiled as the lady combed through your hair, cutting it little by little. It had been so long since you got a haircut,

so the sensation of the scissors on your scalp and the silence of the salon made you feel like you were floating.

Your haircut was finished and you got up to see it in the mirror.

You realized how much you really did need it! It was really fun seeing yourself like this and you couldn't wait to tell Jotaro. You had been secretly dying to do it for a long time.

"Your friends will definitely love it! Be sure to tell show them nice you look!" The hairdresser said with a smile and you nodded, waving her goodbye.

You couldn't wait to get to school the next day and show everyone your new haircut! You wondered what the reaction would be like, but you had a feeling it would be fun.

On the way to school, you felt yourself bounce around more, your face getting brighter by the second.

The first person you wanted to show was Jotaro. You knew he would definitely be surprised.

Once you got to the school gate, you looked around for Jotaro and noticed the crowd of girls he was standing near. He was surrounded by girls!

Maybe not the best time to interact with him. You didn't want to start a commotion because you had cut your hair!

You walked into the school and went to your classroom. As soon as you entered, you found yourself in awe. Everyone was staring at you.

"So?! You finally cut it?!" One of your friends spoke up and everyone went silent.

You nodded and she gave you a smile, "it looks great! Let's all take a picture!"

The entire class was taking pictures of you, you took out your camera and did it with them as well.

You saw Jotaro in the corner of your eye, and he was staring at you.

You looked back at him and smiled, and he looked away, hiding his face. He always did that whenever he was blushing.

"Jojo! Let's take a picture together!" You said, approaching him.

You both stood next to each other as you took a picture together, the flash blinding the entire class. You showed it to him, and he nodded.

"Cool..." was all he could muster. You laughed at his lack of response, and you started to walk away when you felt someone grab your arm.

It was Jotaro, he had a stern expression, "Your hair..." He muttered, "it's really short now..." He took another glance at you, "it looks good on you..."

You looked at him, and you couldn't help but smile.

"Thanks!" You said, as you left to sit down in class.

The whole day he was staring at you, which was quite odd, but you felt that it was his way of telling you that he liked your new haircut. You just smiled at it and focused on your classes.

You went to get your bike but felt Jotaro's hand on your shoulder. You turned around to see him staring at you.

"Can I ask you something?" He said, his voice low and soft, "...may I?"

You nodded, you were intrigued by his behavior.

"I want to ride with you on your bike, can I?" He asked, as he took his hands off your shoulders.

You were confused, why would he want to do that? But you nodded anyway, "okay, sure!" You replied, and he nodded as well, walking to his bike.

You rode all the way home. He didn't speak, he just kept his eyes on you as you pedaled. You were surprised at how fast he could actually ride.

You didn't talk much either, and as soon as you got to your house, you took off your helmet and bid him goodbye. He stepped off his bike and followed you.

"What's the matter?" You asked, cocking your head to the side, "didn't you want to go home?"

"Yeah...I do," He nodded, "I was wondering if I could ride with you again? Tomorrow?" He looked at you as he spoke, "...because I'm enjoying myself..."

Your eyes widened at his request. You could feel yourself blush.

You felt a smile creep up on your face.

"Of course! That sounds great!" You said, "you can ride with me tomorrow as long as you want, I really don't mind it!"

He gave you a soft nod and you felt your heart flutter as you saw his face get red.

I love these kinds of blogs becuade it feels so safe to explore here I love it but I was looking through your tags about birches and femmes and I was wondering.

What kinds of traits make a butch butch or masc? Is it just solely looking more masculine like is there a certain quantity of masculinity you have to reach in order to be masc?

I think I to the outside look really really femme but I never feel that way or feel good using that as a label. If I had to pick between femme and masc I would probably choose masc or butch. honestly and surprisingly to me the label I feel best about calling myself in my head is just dyke lol so I guess my question is is there a label for someone like me? Who feels masc but looks femme? Or should I just go for a label not needed kind of vibe? Lol

(For context I’m 26 but I’ve only recently realized I’m a lesbian in the past 6 months or so so I’m very new to the culture but I want to participate as much as I can! <3)

that’s a very good question and a very complex one! i’ll do my best to give an answer, speaking as someone who loves butches and is exclusively attracted to butches, who has had butch lovers and friends. however i am not butch myself, so keep that in mind. i’ll also speak to butch only in a lesbian/sapphic sense since that’s the context on my blog.

to me, butch is an identity term grounded in lesbian/sapphic community that’s connected to chivalry, tenderness, courage, authenticity, and ways of being that can be described (depending on cultural contexts) as masculine. this can mean many different things to different people. there is no specific “quantity” of masculinity necessary to be butch. some butches might not describe themselves as masculine at all. to me ‘masculine’ is just a word, a useful one yet with certain limits, that we use to gesture broadly to a mode of dressing and carrying oneself, but it doesn’t resonate with every butch i’ve met. i know they say a good definition doesn’t include the term being defined but the best word to describe a butch, is butch. i will say that a butch way of dressing and acting is integral to the identity. if that doesn’t feel like you, then you might not be butch. i invite any of my butch followers to add their perspectives in the replies!

it’s completely fine and wonderful to settle into ‘dyke’ as your identity label!! you can be a lesbian without being butch or femme. we are really just a subculture within lesbianism. ‘masc’ is also a great label that doesn’t have the same community connection and historical weight as butch, but it’s useful for describing your aesthetic/style as a lesbian. you can combine elements of masculine and feminine styles! you can do whatever feels good and makes you happy. ☺️
