#bc it sounds like it'd really help with revenge

Hey Wolf, hear me go crazy for a moment, will ya?
I just found out/heard that Guy Gardner used to be a social worker/teacher in some versions before becoming a green latern??? Him being a either of those surprises me a lot, but what surprises me more is that we haven't seen any of that kind of interaction with Billy! Imagine that! Billy Batson having to attend summer school and assigned a mentor to help kids like him get on the right track in life, and of all people he gets assigned Guy flipping Gardner.
It'd be funny if it didn't take long at all for him to find out Billy was Captain Marvel, and bc he was supposed to be a mentor to the kid, keeps it a secret, but totally brags about knowing Cap's secret identity to the league and being better than them.
Oh! He could even help Billy fight Mr. Mind! alongside a very annoyed Hal Jordan and John Stewart, hahahaha
I know nothing much about the Green Laterns, but this sounds like so much that I'd research all the comics just to write this
I knew the second you said "let me go crazy" that I would enjoy the scenario!
I don't know too much about Guy, but him being a teacher and/or a social worker is really cool!
This whole set up of Guy being Billy’s tutor/mentor is even more hilarious if you include the fact that Cap and Guy had a very antagonistic rivalry/feud when the were on the JLI together. Like it was full on name calling, bickering, petty revenge. Guy exclusively referred to him as Captain Whitebread for a while.
So adding that to him mentoring Billy would set up some really fun interactions. I can just imagine him figuring out Billy’s secret ID only to have an existential crisis about having beef with a 10 year old.
But he would still brag about knowing Cap's secret ID, no question about that. But people would think he was lying/not believe him because of their rocky relationship. He could literally say Cap is a kid, show them a picture of Billy, show them a video of the transformation, and people would still think he was just trying to mess with them and Cap. Guy knows this, but Billy refuses to take that chance.
So Guy will be like "finish your homework and no one finds out you’re a literal child"
And Billy will grumble about it, but do as he's told. He still messes with Guy though both as Billy and as Cap.

Recs from May & June
I ended up making this one for two months instead of one. In May I started doing Kyudo with my best friend, and so far I'm loving it. In case you don't know, it's like Japanese archery with a longbow. We've yet to actually shoot any arrows, but I'm working hard on getting the technique down and gaining inner strength or whatever! I've also started an internship sorta thing at a daycare, altho I'm in the kitchen. It's chill. I've, as always, watched a few kdramas (surprise) and there were some good ones in there, so here we go:
TV shows
Tumblr media
Jirisan
Dudes... I started this show thinking it'd be mostly like smaller stories about people getting saved by ranger on a mountain for various reasons. I was ready for like some human stories and shit. But I was surprised to find out that this show is much more than that. And I loved it! Jirisan is a show about Mount Jiri, and evolves around the rangers of said mountain. They save people from the weather, from themselves, from others. It jumps back and forth between various years, and in the beginning it was a bit confusing, but I quickly managed to make a mind map over the various events. The show has supernatural elements, beautiful nature shots, a serial killer case and coworkers that gotta learn to tolerate and maybe even like eachother. I really liked this show and my words does not advocate well enough for it, but please if it sounds even a tiny bit interesting to you, check it out. I sat during the whole thing and longed to go hiking myself lmao
Tumblr media
Monstrous
Not gonna lie, I mostly watched this for Koo Kyo Hwan and Shin Hyun Bin, and it's relatively short. It's a horror web series by the same dude who made Train to Busan, about a rural town suddenly getting cursed by an ancient statue. The story is pretty predictable and doesn't really do anything new with it, but it's shot nicely, and acted nicely, and I think it was worth it anyways!
Tumblr media
The King of Pigs
The King of Pigs is a kdrama based on the Korean animated film of the same title. This show was a brutal watch. We follow out two main characters Kyung Min and Detective Jong Seok. Kyung Min lives a relatively normal life with his wife, until one days his supressed memories of his traumatic school years reappear. A string of murders begin and after Detective Jong Seok recieves a mysterious message related to these murders, he sets out to catch the killer. Along the present day plot the show also gives us plenty flashbacks to Kyung Min and Jong Seok's school days. The show is phenomenally acted, especially the child actors deserve praise. Instead of using adult actors for their teen characters, they cast actual teen actors for the roles, and it makes it all so much more real and brutal to watch. I felt so many emotions during this show and a bullying victim myself. There's something extremely satisfying about revenge stories like these, altho I wouldn't simply categorize this show as revenge story. It's way more, and overall it's a tragedy. 10/10 man
TW for bullying, violence, suicide, torture, etc. It's brutal guys, if you wanna know specifics feel free to message me.
Tumblr media
Bloody Heart
Watched this one as it aired, and I was originally pulled in by the absolutely amazing cinematography, and stayed for the intriguing political backstabbing. I'll have to rewatch at some point, bc I'm not entirely sure I got the whole political part of the plot lmao, but I understood enough for it to be enjoyable and intriguing. We follow a few characters, the King Lee Tae who ascends the throne after his father who was made king after a rebellion, Park Gye Won the First Vice-Premier (I'm not entirely sure about all these political roles in historical Korean stories) who's helped Lee Tae's father deposing the former king and starting a new dynasty, and lastly Yoo Jeong the daughter of a noble family who Lee Tae wants to marry. Lee Tae wants absolute monarchical power, and believes any action is justifiable to achieve his goals, while Yoo Jeong is a very sympathetic woman who wants whats best for the people on the country.
It's a story of power struggle and court intrigue, with so much drama and a tasteful amount of romance too. Every character is interesting and unique, and I kinda ended up rooting for multiple people at once, despite them opposing eachother lmao.
Video Games
Tumblr media
The Quarry
My best friend and I has made it a tradition to play these supermassive horror games whenever they come out, they're some of her favourites, and I too was really looking forward to this one. We played through this together in one sitting (about 11 hours??) and guys, I loved it. It's cliched and obviously draws inspiration from a lot of cheesy horror movies, but that's what I love about this.
You play as this group of camp councilors who are stranded at a camp lodge for a night, and being young people that they are they decide to throw a party. Only there's monsters lurking in the shadows. If you don't know how these games work, you play as each individual character, the POV kinda switches between them, and if you play with a friend like I did, you can divide them between eachother and then pass the controller over to whoever is being controlled at the moment. It's a story with a narrative, that you can affect to a certain extent with choices you make in game. Depending on what you choose, what you say, and whether or not you fail certain QTEs and similar, you can get characters killed or not.
I think the acting and the dialogue in The Quarry was great, it was cheesy, and sometimes really dumb, but they had many lines that had me laughing, and I think it was better than the dialogue in Until Dawn. Each character is played with a real life actor, and I love that the developers even made sure each character had their own unique body model.
Wanna warn and say that the plot is pretty basic, and does use some awful stereotypes of romani people. And also just general TW for gore and violence etc
Bonus
Tumblr media
Cabaret
Went to see Cabaret in Aarhus Teater and it was great, second time I'm seeing Cabaret in general, and it's definitely one of my favourite musicals, and I don't have much to say, I just really like their adaption of it. Despite it taking place in the 30s Berlin, it's sadly still very much relevant today.

Can we see the bits if we ask very nicely
so it took me a second to realize that this was referring to the post about sunshot era sms/xy I made last night, but I got there :P and you know what yes here's the longest one. context noted down next to it is that xue yang just got involved in some kind of fight/chase that went through a brothel
He pauses outside the door, thinking, then pokes his head back inside to a gratifying chorus of yelps and screams.
"Say," he said, "do any of you ladies play musical instruments?"
*
Su She is up and poking the fire when Xue Yang returns, his face pinched. He turns as he hears him approaching, and his face gets even more pinched. "Where have you been," he started off, "I woke up and I heard commotion from the town and--" His eyes snagged on the bundle in Xue Yang's arms. "What is that--"
"Don't nag me, laopo," Xue Yang says cheerfully. "I got you something nice."
Before Su She can have a fit over being called that, he tosses the bundle at him. The other boy's eyes snapped wide as the cover slid off and he realized what it was; his arms shot out to catch it, snatching fiercely and then holding it carefully, tenderly, like a mother receiving a child.
He looks stunned, and for once he's actually silent as his fingers trace the guqin's body; old wood, but polished to a fine shine. Xue Yang feels... well, pleased with himself, obviously as he watches Su She evaluate the instrument; he was totally right to grab it, he's nailing this alliance thing. But there's a faint complicated feeling churning underneath it. He screws his face up and shakes it off. Weird vague feelings could get fucked.
"Well," he says, feigning impatience, "don't you like it?"
"I," Su She says, and looks up. He looks sort of lost. "I. Yes. Why did you..."
"You said you'd be a lot more use to me with a guqin," Xue Yang pointed out. "So I got you one." Realizing how it sounds, he adds, "I didn't make a special trip or anything. It was just something I saw and picked up."

Oh man, okay, building on the theory of there being some sort of tank/chamber the Thirium they drink is stored in, maybe Hank convinces him to drink some water or something bc he's curious as to what it'd do? Like he assures Connor he doesn't have to do it, but Connor wants to, to satisfy Hank's curiosity. Eventually he has to puke it up and Hank has to comfort his robo son
So, I wrote it. It’s honestly not the best thing I’ve written, but it’s not the worst. Also, did I tell you I can’t end stories well? Because the ending of this story is shit, but it’s the best I could muster. Hope you like it!
“Hey, Connor?” Hank looks up from his desk, and all of his files, his head lying lazily on the palm of his hand. Connor notes how exhausted he looks, but finds himself unsurprised, seeing as this is their 8th hour working on paperwork alone. Hank, seeing Connor’s attention, continues before Connor has a chance to answer. “What happens if you drink something other than blue blood?”
Connor considers the question, and finds he honestly doesn’t know the answer. “I assume I would be warned of the possible dangers of consuming something other than thirium,” his LED flashes yellow for a moment as he works out the scenario in his head. “I may consider myself alive, but I am still technically a machine. While we are waterproof, it might be dangerous to consume something other than blue blood.” Hank hums in understanding and says nothing more, so they return to their respective piles, which seems to be the end of the conversation. Though about an hour later, nearing the end of their work, Hank asks him if he would be willing to try it.
“I don’t know, Lieutenant,” Connor feels unsure. What if the water Hank was offering him caused some sort of horrible malfunction? What if it somehow leads to him shutting down? Connor feels he’s being overdramatic, but also finds that there is a uneasy feeling building in the bottom of his stomach, or what would be his stomach, if he had one. “I’m not sure it would be the best idea.”
They’re packing up their desks now and Connor is ignoring the fact that it’s now dark out, despite the fact that they had arrived during the early morning hours. He watches as Hank shrugs his shoulders, partially to relieve the tension that had built there, and also to dismiss Connor’s concern. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to, son. I was just curious.”
Somehow, Hank’s dismissal feels like a challenge. Connor can’t quite place the feeling that overcomes him, but he find himself reaching for the bottle in Hank’s hand, and unscrewing the cap. Hank watches with curiosity as Connor carefully raises the bottle to his lips, taking an uneasy sip.
Immediately, Connor’s sensors are lighting up with warmings, and he feels something contract from the pit of his biocomponents. He lets out something that sounds like a whimper, but he holds down the liquid, not wanting to worry Hank. Though the concern that passes the lieutenant’s face causes Connor to realize he’s failed. More warnings pass Connor’s vision, and another whimper like sound escapes him. The feeling of the water in his system is unpleasant, and though Connor knows he cannot feel nausea, a part of him wonders if this is what it felt like. The water feels cold in contrast to his thirum, and it keeps sliding up and down his artificial throat. Still, he stands his ground stubbornly, and slowly, they begin to depart the precinct. Hank seems skeptical, especially since Connor hasn’t said a word. He tries to seem fine, wanting to please Hank’s curiosity, but the longer the water stays, the harder it is to keep it down. He feels his biocomponents contract again.
Hank knows something’s wrong before it even happens. First, the kid hasn’t said a word since drinking the water, and second, when he stops just short of the exit, Hank just knows. The first thing Hank sees when he turns around, is Connor bent at the waste, panting despite not needing to actually breathe. He looks like he’s in pain, which makes Hank’s heart ache with sympathy. He probably shouldn’t have suggested this. It was simply a thought that had occurred to him out of boredom. He didn’t think the kid would actually do it. Suddenly, as Hank makes his way over to the android, Connor heaves, a splash of thirium-mixed water spilling past his lips and staining the white tile of the lobby. Hank curses, instinctively placing his hands on Connor’s back. Connor heaves again and more mess spills past his lips, this time darker blue. He’s whimpering, almost sobbing, so Hank runs his hands up and down the deviant’s back, hoping to comfort him in some way.
“It’s alright, kid,” Hank finds himself saying. “It’s okay, just let it out.”
Honestly, the sight of Connor puking blue blood is disgusting, and the fact that it’s the android’s actual blood irks him. He cringes as Connor heaves once more. He’s still whimpering, but that quickly changes to what Hank recognizes as the sound of embarrassment. Connor straightens when he feels he’s done, and Hank notes how fast the kid recovers, though he supposes that’s due to the fact that he cannot feel pain. A least he seems okay, Hank thinks. He studies Connor for a moment, taking in the blue staining his lips, shoes, and the bottoms of both of their pants. The mess is right in front of the door, right where they need to pass, but Hank really doesn’t want to, so he opts to just head back to their desks. They need a moment to regroup. Connor probably need to sit. He feels like sitting too.
Connor however, feels mortified. Not only did he not know what water would do to him, he also didn’t know that androids could even be sick. He knew consuming foreign liquids could be dangerous, but this is not what he had been expecting. He figured drinking the water would cause some damage to internal biocomponents, not cause him to purge in front of Hank and the entire station. If androids could blush, Connor knew his face would be on fire. Speaking of his face, Connor places it in his hands as they return to their desks. He sits and his arms fall to rest on his knees. Connor feels like hiding. Like quitting his job and never leaving the solitude of Hank’s house ever again.
Hank sees Connor’s discomfort and thinks he’s crying, so he places a hand on Connor’s shoulder, giving the android a kind smile. This situation is kinda fucked, but Hank doesn’t want Connor to know that.
“You alright?” Hank asks. Connor looks up at him, and shakes his head. Hank expects tears, but just finds the look of utter horror written all over Connor’s face.
“Oh. My. God.” Connor says, and Hank thinks it’s the first time he’s heard Connor speak like that. “I…” Whatever the kid was going to say falters, and Connor buries his face back into his hands. Hank still has his hand resting on Connor’s shoulder, so he squeezes lightly. He thinks about what just happened and suddenly the reality of the situation crashes down on him. He finds that he feels like laughing. So he does.
Connor looks up again as he hears Hank start to snicker. “Holy shit,” Hank says. “How… How is that possible? Do you even have a stomach?” Hank is full on laughing now. Connor finds that it’s genuine laughter, not anything that would suggest mochery. He almost fails to see the humor in the situation, but somehow Hank’s laughter is infectious. He doesn’t laugh with the lieutenant, but finds that his embarrassment slightly fading.
“Why are you laughing?” Connor asks, he fakes being hurt, making his voice sound tearful, but Hank doesn’t fall for it, and only points out what’s so funny.
“You are such a child,” Hank teases. Connor frowns at this, though his mood isn’t as sour as it seems outright. “Why’d you take the fucking water? I didn’t even goad you on about it.”
“I was curious,” Connor says, like he’s trying to convince himself. His LED flashes yellow again, which tells Hank he’s lying. Connor feels a fresh wave of embarrassment wash over him at this.
“Bullshit,” Hank is smirking at him, teasing him. It reminds Connor of the situation in Hank’s bathroom the night of the Eden Club investigation. Except this time, Connor’s the one on the receiving end of the joke, not Hank. Connor guesses Hank sees this as some sort of revenge. “You were nervous before actually doing it.” Hank says. Connor curses Hank’s investigative skills. He knows not much gets past his friend. He should have guessed Hank could pick out his reasoning for drinking the water.
Connor sighs, and gives in. He tells Hank that drinking the water almost felt like a challenge. “I felt like I had to, to prove something. I’m not entirely sure what it was I needed to prove, but you telling me I didn’t have to made me want to do it more.” Connor is confused by these feelings, like normal, but putting it into words helps him sort them out. Hank’s smirk grows larger. He repeats, “holy shit” again, and addresses Connor with words that seems to amuse Hank greatly.
“Guess my opposition to authority is rubbing off on you, huh?” Hank asks, though he finishes it off with, “well it’s not like you ever fucking listen to me anyway.” He’s grinning, like he’s proud. Connor just feels mortified.
“Can we go home now, Hank?” Connor says. Hank, through his laughter, nods, and they head out. Finding that someone has already cleaned the thirium in front of the doorway.
