Hey so uh question

My mom has a cockatoo and ive heard they are velceo birds? Well! She loves my mom! And my mom wants to will her to me! But i think she hates me? Or is scared of me? Because she tries to bite me and hisses at me, and lunges at me. Ill just be walking by, not fast, not suprising her, and shell do this. She follows me to the bathroom and when i open the door shell run in and bite me. She waits for me. To open the door. And runs her beak over the door.

She only likes me when i sing to her or dance with her or whistal to her.

Our indian ringneck and our cockateil love me but she doesnt and since one day ill be taking care of her (not for a long long loooong time but still) i want to try and start to get her to like me. So uh.... Any advice?

her name is Georgia and shes from a local bird rescue. She was surrendered because a old woman who had her since she was a baby. When the woman got old she needing an at home nurse. The nurse would hit her/ her cage (we dont know which) with a wooden spoon when she screamed. So the old woman surrendered her for the birds own good. Shes not very quick to trust and she has a lot of issues we're working on. She has a fear of anything that looks like a wooden spoon.

However i get her to like me i have to be very mindful of this.

Thanks! And yes ive been researching cockatoos so ill be ready to take her when the time comes. (Again not for a looong time cus shes a will bird. Knock on wood. )
