Novia:

Me había demorado en escribirte. Había tardado en agradecerte el haber tomado ese volante y sin saberlo, haber encontrado una forma de viajar que cuando no esté disponible, de seguro extrañaré.

-valdría la pena meterse a mirar- dijiste. Era de noche y luego de nuestras caminadas de kilómetros por Lima, poco quería saber yo de algo distinto a estar cómodo y relajarme.

Cuando entré al colegio, en la calle treinta y dos, la ciudad terminaba unas cuadras más al norte. @boliviahop This company was excellent from #cusco to #puno to #copacabanabolivia to #lapaz The overnight bus in Peru was comfy and one could actually sleep. The guides were so helpful! You can add the #laketiticaca boat trips to the ticket online. They help you cross the border smoothly and even serve you popcorn and show a movie for the last leg. 17 October- Isla del Sol, on to La Paz

Awaking naturally to the sunlight streaming through the (single glass) windows, we lay in bed looking at the beautiful view. So peaceful! And luckily the Americans hadn't woken up yet. We decided not to risk attempting a full hike to the north end of the island, seeing as our boat was leaving at 3.30pm and a round trip would be upwards of five hours. So after a hearty breakfast of eggs, jam and coca tea, we set off for the highest point of the island a few hundred metres away to get some beautiful panoramic shots. Following that, we took the trail to the Incan ruins in the south (which are a bit pants when you've seen Machu Picchu). We heard the two American girls coming before we saw them (whose voices carry whatever direction the wind is blowing) and avoided conversation by speaking niceties in Spanish. Good trick. The boat trip back was a bit hairy: though the boat the previous day was nothing to write home about, this one was even more decrepit and kept making funny jolts and weird noises. We were happy to arrive at the mainland and to be back on terra firma. The journey into La Paz was fascinating: a winding lakeside road, a ferry ride (one boat for people, one raft for the bus!), a descent into the huge ravine of the city, unpaved roads and twinkling lights everywhere. Happily, we were dropped right outside our hostel, and would be able to investigate the craziness of the city in the morning.

Isla del Sol in Lake Titicaca was another treat that Bolivia had up its sleeve. The islands terrain is harsh; it is a rocky, hilly island with many eucalyptus trees and now motorised transport. There are over 80 ruins on the island. Day #246 Sunday 2nd November, 2014 We arrived in Cusco around 5am on 'Bolivia Hop' (not recommended)... it was our LAST overnight bus ride for our entire trip! What a cause for celebration! We started a free walking tour, however, probably because we were too tired to listen or pay attention to anyone talking (zero sleep last night), we ditched it like a couple of school kids and found ourselves a great spot for lunch. Best decision. Later that day we enjoyed a 'Beans to Bar' chocolate class at the Choco Museo. A+
