8. have you ever been commissioned by the devil to write? if so, what was your payment?

not one single person asked for a fic about tarlos watching twilight, so that MUST have been the devil. also, i wrote a fic about card counting once - it's based in Sin City, so i'm guessing the devil had a hand in that one too. anyway, the asshole left me with nothing (not even my sanity) so...i'm still waiting to collect.

5. when future scholars analyse your work, which one will they find most puzzling?

definitely down for the count because everyone and their dog knows i can't do math, and yet i was like HMM let's write a fic all about COUNTING?! poor @rmd-writes was like 'um im gonna assume this math is right...' and i was like... that's dangerous for everyone involved.

this is something that came to me when we got to 1x05 of the rewatch, based off what carlos says to paul in the club scene at the end, 'i wouldn't stereotype if i were you'

that line got me thinking about his relationship to pride, specifically as a gay man of color growing up in the southern us. i feel like there must've been a journey to get there, one that's kind of separate from his journey with his parents and their reaction when he came out.

what it must've been like when he first realized he was gay, how he felt when the supreme court case got decided that legalized gay marriage in the us happened (my hc is that he had a lot of mixed feelings but overall that it was a pretty difficult day for him), that sort of thing. i think there's so much to unpack in regard to how growing up as a brown man and also a gay man in the area that he did intersected for him. him exploring gay clubs for the first time, learning what the stereotypes were, finding so many incredible, vibrant queer people in his area and seeing how they broke those stereotypes, and wrestling with his complicated relationship with all of it.

kinda envisioning it as a 5+1 style (5 times carlos struggled with who he was +1 where he felt confident in it) but i'm still working out the details. i want to post this one in june so it'll be timely, so i'm just at the mapping it out in my head stage haha

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

TK is much more into working out than Carlos is. It's his way of making things up to his body: I'm sorry I put all that crap into you, I promise I will take care of you now. He goes running at least three times a week, although it took him a while to get used to doing it in the Texas heat. He and Carlos tried to go running together a few times but it always got competative with bets which ranged from fun ("I'll let you do that thing you like") to less fun ("you're not allowed to complain about the radio station in the car for a month").

Carlos is a reader and you can tell what's going on with him by what he's reading. The more stressed out he is the more involved his books are because he needs something to lose himself in and take his mind off things. For that reason TK loves it when Carlos is reading trashy and irreverant magazines.

■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon

Generally speaking, they fell into living together easily and it just seemed like it was meant to be when TK officially moved in. Carlos made space in the closet (which TK made multiple jokes about) and they spent a week sorting through what things they now had double of to blend their stuff.

And then, when they settled into the every day, something seemed to shift. The reality of being around the other person 24/7 (work excepting) wore off and all the little annoyances that they couldn't get away from anymore became big annoyances.

TK making his smoothies of a morning before his shift when Carlos was coming off an overnight. Carlos' need to have everything in its place at all times.

It never got into anything huge but they both started to worry about whether they could do this - neither of them had had a relationship be this kind of serious before. They both talked independently to their parents and both sets reassured their boy that they just needed time to settle in to this. The honeymoon phase was over and they were finding out the bits of real life but it would be OK.

Two days later TK comes home off the shift from hell and he just wants to curl up and eat junk food and watch trashy TV. He doesn't even realise that he's been able to put on his favourite hoodie and pull the snacks from the cupboard with ease until he's halfway through the first episode of some design show. He knew exactly where everything was because it was where it was supposed to be.

Carlos had to pull a double shift the next week and he pretty much sleeps through the whole of the next day out of exhaustion. He's woken up with a soft hand through his hair and smoothie on the bedside table because TK knows it will be easier for him to drink some nutrients rather than try to eat something in this state.

hi hi! thanks for asking! 33 Give your writing a compliment. gah I don't know! Uhm... it's not as chaotic as it could be? I like to think I can make people smile and laugh with the silliness in my fics.

36 How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of? AO3 telling me title can't be blank when I want to post something at 5am is usually it. I'll use the first thing that comes to mind - which is why they're usually quite dodgy and cheesy. The one I'm most proud of... I think either Clark Kent or The Washing Machine Chronicles - mainly because I had fun writing those and they actually had a title before posting!

"He's serving something alright." Nancy commented, looking over TK's shoulder at his phone screen.

"And protecting Austin with his partner." Marjan said from his other side.

"His partner is a dog, Marj."

"I know. And a cute one too. I follow him. Did you know the dog even eats banana? He posted a video the other day where he tried it and he liked it." Marjan told him. "But his favourite is pumpkin, that's why he named him Pumpkin."

"They're allowed to name the dogs themselves?" Nancy asked. "I thought they were just... assigned something."

Marjan shrugged.

"I don't know. But this guy got to pick a name himself. The guy's name is Carlos I think." she grabbed TK's phone from his hand. "You have to see the banana video, it's so cute." she tapped the screen a few times and handed the phone back. "Just watch."

"Posting videos of your dog eating fruit... I'm glad he's out there protecting the city. I feel so safe." TK said sarcastically, trying to keep the smile off his face while he watched the video.

"You're just jealous because you didn't think of it first." Nancy said, daring him to disagree. "Wait, he's APD!" Marjan said suddenly "We could do a collab with Buttercup! AFD and APD dogs united! I'll message him!"

i must say it's very basic, im not super knowledgable on the topic, so if someone here is and can educate me, pls do, im begging.

but i've been cursed with acne-prone skin for almost a decade now, its better since i had to take accutane a few years back and its mostly just acne scars from when i didnt take care of it well as a teen. i still despite it all. anyways, cleanser, salicylic acid acne treatment, moisturizer, lip balm (if that counts?) so 4 steps i guess lol

13. first thing you're doing in the purge?

i am a very non-violent person, but murdering my landlord and giving him a slow, painful death. no fucking joke. he is the worst human being i've ever encountered and everything you think of with scum landlords.

18. boba/tea order?

okay, i may get roasted for this, but i despise tea and i've never even tried boba. it sounds like a sensory nightmare tbh. tk's description of 'delicious blobs of snot' disgusts me without even trying it lol. so i'm changing the question to coffee order lol

Dalawa 🥰 Thank you for letting me talk about one of my favorite things, music in anime!!! Anime has some of the greatest opening, ending and in between songs of all time and I have many favorites! I will include a song or music video for each and I apologize for the length of this ❤️

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - The show that started my and my friends 3 episode rule! You must watch 3 episodes of an anime at least to determine if you want to keep watching or not. The first 2 episodes of this show were cutesy and not too much was actually happening. And then episode 3 came in like a wrecking ball and turned this magical girl show on it's head! It was sooo unassuming and good and the music had a big influence on that too, and magical girl lesbians also helped! This show is the definition of, "I would burn the world for you!" And the main artist of the show, Kalafina, a beautiful Japanese women Gothic singing group, is just icing on the cake!

Ousama Ranking - Such an unassuming show with the protagonist being a deaf and mute Prince, who has his rightful place as next in the line for the throne stolen from him! I love this show and the characters and music are a big reason why. The second opening of it is still probably my favorite opening song ever!!! Please everyone at least watch this video if you see this post!! 💖

Yuri on ice - This show was one of my first big obsessions and I am so sad that there are still only 12 episodes and nothing else 😭 An Ice Skating anime that follows a Japanese figure skater as he struggles to get past his self-confidence issues so he can perform on the ice. This show has a fantastic cast of diverse characters and an exceptional soundtrack, as most characters perform 2 different routines and that means they need a song for each of those! I have to post the original opening for this!

Zombieland Saga - Despite what you might think from the name, this show is about zombies, but they are a group of zombie girls trying to become idols to save their Japanese town! It is such a cute show with many great songs throughout sung by some talented people!! And as you learn more about the characters and how they died, you also learn that it's one of the few animes that features a canonically trans character!! The song I picked is sung by my favorite character, who I totally don't have a crush on.

And not a show but I would be remiss if I didn't include one of the GOAT Japanese composers, Hiroyuki Sawano! The atmosphere his songs create in so many shows, most famously Attack on Titan, are unbelievable, chilling and other worldly! It's because of him that I started looking more closely at the music of shows and have found many a great artist because of him! Here's one of his newest songs from a fantastic Manwa (Korean Manga) turned anime, Solo Leveling!

why is it that I have so many but my brain seems empty of them the longer I look at this ask

but here’s a couple:

1. she and carlos have known each other for years (they either went to high school together or college), this theory is mostly hinged on this one specific scene in which everybody except for carlos is visibly surprised to discover she’s dated women before. that is a knowing smile.

2. she’s was a theatre kid/is a huge broadway fan, and this helped her bond with tk initially after he joined ems (you can’t tell me tk grew up in nyc, with gwyn—who’s canonical favourite songis from a musical—without being into theatre)

you can’t watch how hard she goes ‘reviving’ the sex doll in s4 and tell me she wasn’t a theatre kid!

Ooohh yes XD I am a kpop fan, currently a fan as well, but I must admit i'm more of an older kpop fan haha. Most of the groups out now I'm far too old to keep up with. I became a fan in 2005 with TVXQ and Super Junior who I still adore. I stressed through all the slave contract scandals etc. and groups splitting/members leaving. Beyond TVXQ and SUJU I'm also a HUGE VIXX fan.

I could go on but I might get carried away haha.

Judd catches a heavy gaze that passes between TK and Grace but neither interrupts the boy’s enthusiasm for even a moment.

The air between them is on fire, charged and heavy as they both pant for air, already breathless just from anticipation.

He feels sick even considering letting Alex touch him again, his aftershave heavy in his nose, smelling like acid where it once lured him in.

it's a shame that the rogue 'australia day' ads (aka the lamb ads) aren't associated with something else, because they are funny but they're also kind of shit because they commemorate a day that really shouldn't be commemorated for anything except a day of mourning for indigenous australians.

some great indigenous voices on the issue of commemorating so-called australia day are here, here and here - i'd highly recommend giving them a watch!

there are some non-invasion day australian ads that are kind of funny though!

this is my favourite one (it's so extra) for carlton draught (a beer).

this one is just very iconic (not happy, jan!)

this is one that makes me laugh so much because who calls a company 'lube mobile' and then has a logo that looks like THAT??!

this one inspired a spoof ad called 'dickhead tonight'.

so yes, australia has some very strange tv commercials. i swear some of them you can't tell what they're actually advertising until about 3 seconds before the end. wouldn't have thought that was an effective commercial, but apparently it is.

i think i'd go domestic fluff here. a collection of mornings throughout their life, from their first ones moved in together to the first few in the loft after they get back together, to their first as husbands, and beyond.

mornings in different parts of the world while they're traveling. warm, slow mornings curled up in bed, rushed ones because they got too confident about how quick a quickie would end up actually being and now tk's late for work, off-kilter mornings where one (or both) of them wakes up on the wrong side of the bed and everything feels a bit of a mess until they're kissing each other goodbye and carlos murmurs a quiet "be careful. i love you" that breaks the ice and has them both debating taking the day off to make up for things they can't even remember why they were mad about. just.... mornings in their lives, i think.

"RWRB + Diana + Freddie Mercury" is very intriguing to me 👀

Ok that is my very very very VERY late RWRB new years gift fic

(I might as well talk about it because it's late as all fuck anyway)

It's based on/inspired by the story (myth? Urban legend? idk) that Freddie Mercury once helped princess Diana sneak out of the palace and into a nightclub - and making her dress up in drag as disguise.

It's Henry sneaking out of the palace with Pez's help because he just wants ONE NIGHT of being just a regular guy going for a night out with friends. Shaan catches them but when he realises what they're doing he's all "oh suddenly I can't see and I have never heard a thing in my life ever"

and on that night out he meets Alex - who is in London with June and Nora as a last bit of 'normal' before Ellen's (first) inauguration. They know each other from magazines and stuff but both pretend they don't and get a little too drunk together- and the morning after the night before is kind of awkward when June and Nora catch them in bed together in Alex's hotel room.

"Uh... he said his name was Henry." Alex replied, trying to remember what exactly happened the night before.

"Yeah, PRINCE Henry Mountwhatever the fuck Windsor! The press are going to go nuts when they find out the son of the president elect of the United States and the prince of fucking England hooked up on new year's eve!"

"They're not going to find out. Who is going to tell them?"

"I don't know... maybe everyone who was in that very crowded club last night? or the taxi driver who drove you here? Or the hotel staff?" June reminded him.

"Right..."

"Zahra is going to kill you."

"I'm not afraid of Zahra." Alex crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"That is a lie and we both know it."
