I finally got enough buildings (40) to get to Restoration Level 15, so now I just need to expand and I get all the cookie run rewards

I like the duality of builds in Brixity because people make these beautiful creations that turn into sprawling cities...

To me Brixity is just... Uninteresting. If I want a brick building game I can just go to Minecraft
I feel like it won't be a huge success
Yeah I can see that being the outcome ^^

Crepe Archives Master Post: Brixity
Tumblr media
⚙️ Brixity is a NEW game pitched by Devsisters on August 24, 2023 that takes place in the year 2537. Yeah, really. That’s the canonical year. You take on the role of a first-year student at the Brix Academy who is REALLY good at assembling new structures together with Brix and Creative Energy. After helping a rather… “unskilled” third-year student named Cosmo and a robot companion named ALRO build a spaceship as part of the class’s final exam on humanity’s new civilization on Mars, you’re headed for Earth with them as part of the Earth Restoration Program. From here, you’ll build your own city and explore an abandoned landscape. Hostile to live in now, but Brix combined with Creative Energy can create Healing Essence that can restore the planet!
As this is a new game and Lemon-Lime Meringue Cookie is going through the opening stages from the ground up, this master post will NOT be the most organized as of right now and new details will be added whenever. This is also the first non Cookie Run game we’ll be covering here as we consider turning this archive into a general Devsisters info blog… maybe! If it works, we’ll keep it. If not, we’ll take it to another blog!

The thing about Cookie Run Kingdom vs Brixity is that Cookie Run's city building very quickly becomes "how soon can I get more and more resources so I can actually play the main game of leveling up cookies and beating levels" and getting a city that actually looks nice, (especially as you're forced to make buildings for said resources), is an afterthought and honestly just clunky. The people able to do so are usually far and few between
Meanwhile, the only real resource in Brixity are coins that you're constantly getting from the very few "resource generating" buildings, that are also very small and serve to give you more parts for the actual city building, and "healing essence" by actual buildings that help you expand. Thus, each actual building for your city is used to build more, and it's entirely your choice whether the actual building you make is one of your design, a design someone else made for fun, or something that abuses the system and generates as much healing essence as possible, meaning there's less of a reason for your city to be a bunch of resource generating buildings in one area and then random decorations for points in another
There's no "fighting" and the characters you collect arguably lack that same sense of "getting to know them through a story", but it's less that it lacks those and more that it's not really interested in it, outside of the very small narrative created to facilitate building
They basically saw the people who were already working with the very awkward limitations of CRK to make really nice looking cities and said "hey, what if we closed the gap and let these people actually share and help other people make cities that look like what they're doing"
Despite this, and the fun I'm having, I'm still not sure how long this game will last, once the cookie run event incentive is gone, but city builders are popular for a reason so who knows
