Carol & the end of the world review

Carol & the end of the world is yet another entry into the quiet, mature sci-fi animated menagerie of 2013 alongside Fired on Mars and Scavengers Reign. It is a bit more comedic than both, but still relatively down to earth and not as extravagant, since it deals with very real problems like depression, introversion and impostor syndrome.

The character designs are rather unique for an adult animated series, with Carol herself having this tear drop shaped eyes that quite encapsulate her character.

As someone dealing with depression and a life crisis, Carol is very relatable to me, seeing her struggle to find something to do as everyone is having their bucklists fulfilled.

Overall a very solid cartoon

It’s quite annoying that if seeing the northern lights was a bucklist spot for him, like why would he take her? But then again he always said he loved the idea of doing domestic things like carving pumpkins and he did that with her too. Idk, like if I were his next gf after this it would kiss me off and hurt my feelings that he could be so thoughtless. But then again, men don’t think these things through and they don’t think about how it will effect the next person and their emotions.

For example, I was dating this guy who I really liked, and he would take me to a few cafes and bars that I had heard of but never had been too. And then a mutual friend in the group was sharing a story and mentioned how he would bring his past girlfriends to all these posts. And the kicker was that he had taken a trip with a previous girl he was seeing to a three day weekend trip where they also visits a museum he has always wanted to go to. I felt sick to my stomach. Not only was he basically copy and pasting what he has done in the past- I get it that it was his comfort zone and he was a creature of habit- but he took a trip with some girl to what I consider to be a special place to him. When I confronted him about it, he said he didn’t think of it like that or that way. He said that he basically wanted to go and it was a good time since he was off from work and she was willing to go with him. Long story short, maybe Chris didn’t see it as that sort of a special thing.

Yeah, I think most men don't give things/events the same emotional weight as women do, especially in relationships.

who’s elton? did he collab w the boys?

i'll just combine these two bc it works out better that way.

also ngl i got a huge chuckle out of the top ask lol

so, elton was a guy that snc have/had been friends with since like 2016, maybe a bit before. they all originated on vine. they moved in together back in 2017, along with corey scherer and aaron doh. they were the original trap house, which is a name that brennen taylor came up with, and the fans have kept around since.

elton eventually moved out, and then jake webber moved in. and then the trap house separated for a bit, and then jake, snc, and corey all moved back into a house (the current one snc/kat live in now) and that also became/was called the trap house when they all lived together.

so elton has a channel called overnight, and tfil. overnight is a channel where he uploads haunted/paranormal videos with corey and other ppl.

tfil, or "the fuck it list" is a channel he started around the time he moved into the original trap house. basically, the whole channel is for travel vlogging and exploring different places, along with other videos, but it's mostly a bucklist/travel vlogging. snc used to go on trips with him a lot, especially back when they all used to live together.

so… fast forward to like 2020/21.

25x25 is a series that snc started on their channel on colby's bday in 2021 that was basically supposed to be 25 things before turning 25. a bucklist, if you will.

when snc announced this series back in dec of 2020, elton was… petty about it. probs had to do with the fact that fans compared the two (25x25 and tfil) even tho snc had only announced what they were going to do and no one had proof of what was to come.

and then once they started posting, it became very apparent that elton was upset bc he felt like they copied him (they did not) and so he started copying them.

you can see all the shit that transpired here in this post i made a while back.
