So you know the Chinese saying that once you’ve saved a person’s life, you’re responsible for it forever? Dreamling Rescue fic where after hob saves Dream, Dream keeps showing up expecting Hob to take care of him and be responsible for him in a variety of situations and times. Bonus points: Dream explains exactly nothing to Hob. Those are the old laws, Hob should have been aware of what he was doing when he decided to arrive and save him and that’s that.

I am a little obsessed with Dream being an "unwilling" but "helpless" "victim" of Hob's affections and love.
He's so guardless to it.
He always was to love.
That's why he keeps getting hurt.
It's a helpless sort of "Please don't hurt me" because he will give his heart away, again and again. And it'll be hurt, over and over.
And when Hob doesn't hurt him it's such an...overwhelming feeling of devotion. I'll end the world for you. I'll create a world for you. I'll— Hob stops him then, with a fond kiss and fonder warmth in his eye.
"Anyone ever told you," Hob starts, pulling Dream over "that you've got the flair for the theatrics?" there's laughing lines around his eyes but he doesn't laugh out loud.
Instead he leans and kisses Dream's cheek, then nuzzles just beneath his ear.
"I don't want you to pay for me loving you," there's a pause "You big, darling idiot" his hand sneaks around Dream's middle and pulls him into a hug, tight and firm. "I just love you, you'll have to accept that".
And Dream, Dream doesn't know what to do with that. He doesn't know what to do when nothing is needed, asked of him, demanded.
When someone actually returns his feelings tenderly and doesn't (yet) (there's always the fear of yet) rejects him and his affections.
"I." he begins, and stops. He doesn't have anything to say.
And for now, perhaps, it's okay.
Hob's hold is firm and sure, it's warm and good.
He relaxes him, muttering softly.
"You dare call me an idiot?"
"A darling idiot." Hob murmurs back.

Comedian!Hob au Hob is like the only person on earth that actually makes Dream chuckle. It becomes a personal challenge for Hob to ALWAYS make that gloomy looking Goth guy in the back amused. His personal goal? Get him to, honest to god, laugh out loud. They both are a little obsessed with each other without ever speaking once. Hob's material starts including more and more "So my crush and I" and references to "Tall, Goth and Pretty" and he wonders how much he could sneak before it becomes abundantly obvious that yes, yes I'm talking to you mysterious bane of my existence in the back.

Normal Jedi Master reaction to literally seeing their Padawan's death:
Abnormal Jedi Master reaction to the mere mention—unconfirmed and very likely psychological torture trick—of one's Padawan's death:

I feel like while Dream is typically the leading party of a relationship, and usually the one to offer his affections physically, it quite excites him when someone else takes the initiative to be the masculine, leading role.
Did you see his face after Hob had defended him? He was literally preening and staring at Hob with the intensity of a thousand suns. So satisfied. So pleased. So intrigued by this type of attention.
In this thesis I shall discuss how Dream of the Endless hardly ever gains the attentions of a man who doesn't fear 'protecting' him and bestowing chiverly gestures onto him and Dream is LOVING it.

Scenario prompt: Dream runs into Hob for the first time at a bar, Hob is drunk as fuck hits on Dream by saying the following "I'd date you so damn hard". Dream who is used to hearing a different word, intrigued, asks "How hard?" and Hob, in one breath and drunk confidence and flushed cheeks slurs the entire sentence in a single breath. About how he'd hold Dream's hands everyday, send him good night and good morning texts, take him out to see old movies and watch the sky. Dream says yes to giving his phone number, as one does. In a couple of days Hob finds a new contact in his phone, named: "My Boyfie <3"
Bonus, AU concepts. Initial concept: Dream is a model who is constantly being hit on, hears it almost as white noise by now. Then Hob says "Man I wish I could hold his hands" loud enough for Dream to hear. So naturally, he goes to the guy. Secondary concept: it's Canon dream, he's meeting Hob for the first time. He went to the waking world to meet his sister, ended up saying "Yes" to the first human to ask him out. Hob: /Date me/ Dream, startled: "Accepted." aka how dream of the endless cannot say no to romantic endeavors even with handsome strangers.

Imagine if in 2022 Dream just came, dressed in a hoodie, a beenie and headphones over his neck—sat down and explained exactly nothing. Hob, who only ever saw Dream dressed as the most refined version of the era: ??? 😳

Now I know we all know Morpheus wanted to be mysterious and hot ™ by not revealing anything about himself.
However, consider this.
Morpheus, the king of stories, who's job is to create and make and tell. Takes one day off every 100 years, to just sit down, relax, and listen to someone else tell stories.
Of course he doesn't want to talk, he's there's to relax, not work.

Dream willingly shaping his body to please Hob in whatever manner Hob would desire is living in my subconscious mind rent free. Hob saying “I want you as you are” but also Hob taking the offer and manipulating Dream’s body, bending it, shaping it and worshipping in a way that makes Dream gasp for air for he did not know a loving touch for many a year, a touch that shapes him for Hob’s pleasure but first of all, for his own. Hob’s got an arsenal of dreams and fantasies and thoughts, but lucky enough for him, Dream is willing and curious and always happy to indulge in a good story, no matter what sort. So long as Hob is caring, so long as Hob is loving. And Hob is always—caring. Even in a rough touch, a play of power, there’s always care. The Dreaming shakes and bends and cracks around the edges, but it also blooms and summer shine is washed by spring breeze, there’s wonders and stars and there’s a softening of the corners of your mind. It’s lovely and it’s full of life. The Dream Lord is at last, content.
