Kai general and Romantic headcanons

A/N:sorry if I got any of the characters wrong, I was using a combo of wiki/Google translate as I don't speak any of the languages mentioned. Pls let me know if I got any info wrong, i will gladly go in and change it to make it right.

General:

Half Indian and half Chinese.

His and nya's last name is 鄭 (Zheng), but he says it's Smith bc when they where younger he got in the habit of lying about his name so he Didnt have to deal with CPS.

His ma is from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and was a practicing Hindu. Ray is from the 云南 (yunnan) province, and was a practicing theravida Buddhist. Ray is ethnically from the 傣族 (dai people, also spelt Tai in english)

Before his parents dissapearances, they both brought him to their hometowns, and actively taught him both cultures and religions, which he continued to learn about and even teach Nya about after their dissapearances.

When he was 14 he bought a small boat and him and Nya rode it across the costal line, and he promised Nya one day when he was older he'd bring the both of them to their parents hometowns.

He's a Buddhist.

He speaks so many languages.

He's fluent in Thai, mandarin and cantonese chinese, telugu, urdu, hindi, Punjabi, arabic and ninjago-ian(idk whatever language ninjago speaks)

My friend is really invested in helping immigrants from the Middle East gain citizenship in America and has become fluent in multiple Arabic dialects and Urdu and is working on other languages which is great. Helping people is good. But she's also under the impression that everything from the Middle East is pure and good and refuses to acknowledge that many of those people she wants to help are fleeing from their native countries. She even dated a man who was apparently kicked out of the tribal police for sleeping with some high ranking guy's sister and fled because they were going to kill him (she didn't find this out till much later after they began dating) and he beat my friend and threatened her and cheated on her. And she finally broke up with him but still defends him and all the men like him. She even says "Islam is truly the religion peace" and like...I and members of her family have pointed out that the quran literally tells Muslims to kill infidels (non-Muslims who won't convert). The Sunnis do not follow that, which is good, but Islam is not inherently a peaceful or for that matter 'feminist' religion. I can't tell if my friend really believes all this or if she's just saying it bc she feels like she has to bc she is Caucasian. She def believes some of it though.

Yeah, white people have done horrible things, but that doesn't mean the generations of them today should overlook all the horrible things in other cultures. It's one thing to be sensitive to poc but another entirely to be in denial and/or tell poc themselves they don't know what they're talking about.

(I honestly hate using the term 'people of color' bc 'coloreds' is what racists in my country used to call every non-white person and have no clue how it got turned into a normal term lately but everyone is saying it now so I guess I have to too)

Also to the anon who said Jin has big boobs: rewatch the episode. She's the same size as all the other teenage female protagonists.

Everyone give Jin some respect she's a beautiful sweet girl who gave Zuko one of the only good experiences he had as a teenage boy in exile. Jinko is wholesome end of story.
