mind isn't scared of the dark. the fairy lights lining his ceiling, gifted to him by soul, are the soft lighting alternative for when his migraines get too debilitating. he's not scared of the dark, he just likes being able to see what's where and avoid stubbing his toe in the middle of the night. he knows there's no monsters hiding in the shadows, so he rests easy at night.

to heart, the darkness is a comfort, one of the small things that can bring his sightless eyes relief. he wears it like a blanket, letting shadows that the moon casts from the light of the sun trail behind him, infecting his room and slowly taking over the rest of the household. to heart, the dark is his true home.

soul is terrified of the dark. not due to monsters, or some other childish reason, but because the darkness reminds him of things he doesn't want to remember. the darkness reminds him of nothingness, trapped midfall as the loops restart over and over again, surrounded by everything and nothing at the same time, completely alone and yet overwhelmed with parasitic ids that burden his very existence, that throw extra weight onto atlas's shoulders. the darkness is dangerous, and the darkness means death. he has a night sky, glow in the dark stickers holding on by a thread, on his ceiling, one that reminds him that this isn't the end, there's more to come, that he will live to see another day,another night.

honestly i love little mundane everyday things that fictional characters do

like just imagining your little guy just living their everyday life and relaxing is so heartwarming to me

i specifically like thinking about hms and how they would live everyday life , like who would prepare meals? would they do it good? would the others giggle and poke fun at them affectionately? like them all collaborating on something and doing something fun together like dnd or hiking or just watching a movie.

would heart share his interests with mind? would mind do the same? would they bring up inside jokes in front of soul and chuckle as he cluelessly stares at the two? like the three practicing their instruments in the house and dying their hair and hanging out with eachother and showing eachother cool things they like and just living their happy little lives

the beauty of emotions and bonding and how humans interact with eachother and how they live their regular lives fascinates me and sparks a little lightbulb in my brain about how much we project ourselves and how we act onto characters and ocs and their world
