I've been feeling weird and disconnected lately so my gf convinced me to do something more hands-on. I found a lump of old polymer clay in the closet and a box of mostly-dry acrylic paints and made a little Zeb bust. He's certainly not perfect and it's been a while since I've sculpted anything but he really helped me ground myself and get back into an old hobby.
I want to do some more sculpting soon (maybe make him a matching husband? 👀) but for now I'm inordinately proud of him, and he gets to sit on my shelf by my computer.

@zebsfloppyears asked for more details on Kallus' arc in the MOTW au, and I'm more than happy to oblige.
Kallus starts off as your run-of-the-mill FBI agent sent off to the butt crack of nowhere for a wild goose chase of an assignment, but pretty quickly gets tied up in the whole "monsters are real and the government is collecting mediums for unethical experiments" deal. His arc progresses fairly straightforward for the first bit of the AU, but then we reach the problem of, well. The US government is bad, but it's not "obliterate whole planets just because they looked at us funny" bad.
So when he ends up stranded on the side of a mountain outside a Utah ski resort called Behryn along with a handsome man who also happens to be bigfoot in disguise, that breaks some ice (haha) but it isn't quite enough to fully radicalize him.
But it does mean that, when he wakes up several weeks later handcuffed to the same radiator as Kanan Fucking Jarrus, he's a bit more equitable to working together to get out. Sure, it's a bitch off, how could it not be with those two, but they don't kill each other, and Kallus lets Kanan go once they've dealt with their captors.
So when Hera makes eye contact with him at a party they're both under cover at the next month, she remembers how he spared Kanan. It's not like she could say anything, anyways, since confronting him would break her cover, and if Kallus confronted her it would break his cover, so instead they silently agree to a truce, and unfortunately have a great time together.
And see, now he's fallen into the trap. Now he's actually a bit fond of these people. Now he's willing to give them grace when before he was only doing his duty. Unfortunately, he does still have a duty to perform, so he begrudgingly works with the CIA agent he's been paired with to finally track down and corner Ezra Bridger. Except, then the CIA agent pulls his gun, and Kallus reminds him that Ezra is 16, still a minor, and that they're to take him in alive, because why on earth would they kill a child? But then the CIA agent tells him that his orders were to eliminate their target, and Kallus sighs and pulls his own weapon, but it isn't Ezra he points it at. And Ezra makes it home safe, and he tells them what happened, and oh, maybe that FBI bitch isn't as bad as we thought?
Which is Sabine's first thought when she comes home one day to see a familiar car parked next to the Ghost, the one Ketsu had been driving last year when they'd reconnected, but Sabine really isn't ready for that conversation yet so she turns around and goes back into town to clear her head. And when she sees a familiar mutton-chopped fed sitting on a nearby park bench she remembers how he'd treated Ezra, and she really needs someone to talk to besides the spectres (she's sure they wouldn't understand, since they were the ones who were probably eating dinner with her sorta-ex girlfriend right now), so she plops down next to him. He's confused, yeah, and he asks her if she wants to be arrested, but when she shrugs and says might as well, it's better than going home right now anyways, well, Kallus has sisters of his own, and she's so small sitting next to him, and god dammit if he doesn't ask if she's hungry, tells her there's a pretty good diner around the corner. And Sabine grins at him and says as long as it's on your dime, fed, and all of a sudden they're eating together and talking about their exes and, well. It's all over from there. The spectres have caught him, hook line and sinker.
None of them are surprised, later, when Kallus helps Sabine break those poor cadets out of the Air Force testing facility, or when he tells Kanan and Ezra in the weapons factory that he's been the one supplying their most recent leaks. He may be a fed, but he's their fed.

Monster Of The Week bullshit please 👀
Oooooh MOTW is a really fun one with a whole lot of lore, buckle up.
It's a full AU my girlfriend and I are fleshing out, that's set like a 90's monster of the week style tv show, a la X-Files or Buffy The Vampire Slayer or something. But, see, the twist is that the entire ghost crew ARE the monsters.
Hera is a real ass space alien who has a cloaking device to disguise herself as human. I felt like the standard twilek alien design wasn't extreme enough for this AU, though, so she's like. A big ol' bug alien, six limbs, chitin, the works. When she has her glamour on, though, she's like, a 5'3" little ginger in pigtail braids. Chopper is her robot assistant, disguised as a corgi. Kanan and Ezra are mediums who can see and talk to ghosts. Sabine is an escaped government super soldier experiment who has super human strength. Zeb is Bigfoot. They all live in an RV called the Ghost and go on adventures across the continental united states in the mid-90's, all while trying to avoid the dedicated FBI agent on their tail, Agent Kallus.
There's a whole lot of fun swaps and modernization that we've been working on, like Attolon being an abandoned military test center in the middle of the New Mexico desert, or Maul being Mothman, or Grand Admiral Thrawn being a real-ass vampire. The Phantom is a Mini Cooper. Lyste is a small town cop from Ezra's hometown. Ahsoka's a park ranger in the middle of West Virginia, and also a different kind of space alien. There's a government conspiracy to use mediums for military experiments. It's a hoot.
Speaking of Attolon and Vampire Thrawn, every time I write a snippet of him, it ends up getting very horror-y, which I think is rather appropriate for him. At Attolon, I felt it would be very thematically relevant and a lot more high-stakes for Sato's self-sacrifice to go... a little differently.
“I can get you that opening,” Sato said quietly.  Hera looked over at him. There was a look of resolve on his face that suddenly made her very nervous. “Sato, what are you doing?”  He stood and peeked around the doorframe that was his cover. “Whatever you do,” he said, his eyes set firmly somewhere on the line of feds in front of them, “make sure Ezra gets out.”  “Jun, wait,” Hera called, but he'd already stepped out from his cover and started towards his target, gun drawn. “Jun!” “What's he doing?” Called Zeb, firing a few shots off to try and cover him.  As Sato approached the barricade, the gunfire paradoxically slowed, the officers hesitating at the bold-faced confidence and single-minded purpose of the man walking towards them. The setting sun glinted off the hilt of his gun as he raised it, and, with a single resounding shot, fired one bullet directly into Konstantine’s head. The General's body seemed to fall in slow motion as every soldier in front of them fell silent.  Silent enough that the crunch of Sato’s windpipe was audible when the Admiral seemed to appear out of the darkness itself to latch his jaws around his throat.  Silent enough for Mart’s strangled cry of despair to ring in the air, Zeb too slow to shield him from the scene.  Sato’s gun slipped from his grip with a clatter. His eyes were wide and glassy as the color drained from his face and out through the gaping wound in his neck, painting Thrawn's uniform a gruesome crimson. The two tumbled to the ground, and through her haze of disbelief Hera realized that Thrawn’s attention was now solely focused on the twitching body beneath him, and the soldiers surrounding them were too stunned to fill the gap left by Konstantine.  “Ezra, go now!” Hera hissed into the radio.
Anyways I have so many thoughts all the time about MOTW, there's so much more to it than this and it's nowhere near something postable but I'm always willing to talk about it lmao

Oughhhhh I'm in such a rut right now but I am still working on the next chapter of Passenger I promise. Here's proof in the form of Sabine and Kallus:
“I’m surprised you’ve heard of this before, though,” she said over the sound of her knife behind him. “Isn’t this a lower Coruscanti dish?” “It is, yes,” Kallus responded. He hesitated, unsure if he should leave it at that, or explain to Sabine why he knew this recipe. It wasn’t something he talked about in the Empire, in order to maintain the level of respect he’d achieved. But here, it seemed almost trivial to keep it a secret. “I… grew up there,” he added hesitantly.  “Really?” said Sabine. Kallus didn’t turn around, afraid of the judgemental look she might be giving him. An unfounded fear, he had to remind himself. The Spectres were hardly ones to cast judgment on someone’s background. “You don’t sound like it. You sound too… prissy to be from the lower levels.”  “That’s by design,” he shrugged. “You’re much more likely to go as far as I have in the Empire if you sound like the upper class.” “Well that’s shitty,” she scoffed. “What did your family think about you dropping the accent?”  Kallus went quiet, skimming the pot in front of him again as a distraction. “I don’t know,” he said finally. “I cut off contact with them shortly after joining the Academy.”  “Oh.” There was silence from the table. Even the sound of chopping had halted, and after a moment Kallus heard Sabine set down the knife. “I heard they did that at the other academies, but I thought it was just a rumor.” Her voice was soft enough that he could barely hear her over the bubbling of the stock. “Did they… really make you stop talking to your family?”  “It wasn’t an official policy, no. But there was a lot of pressure from everyone around you, from the COs to the other cadets. Once you joined, the Empire was meant to be your family. Having other ties was said to be a… complication. If you were still in contact with them, you were seen as weak.” The beat of silence that followed was tighter than the last. “On Mandalore,” said Sabine, her voice measured, “they tried to do the same thing. They tried to tell Mandalorians to cut off their kin.” “I can imagine how well that went over," Kallus muttered. “By the time I got there, it wasn’t a thing anymore," she continued. "They figured they were fighting a losing battle, so they cut their losses rather than lose Mandalore. I didn't know they still did that everywhere else."  "It was difficult," Kallus admitted, "but I was young and eager to please. I felt I had to work harder than my peers to prove myself due to my upbringing, and they were…" he petered off, his emotions flaring up unexpectedly to put a damper on his voice. "They were weighing me down," he finished in a near whisper.
Anyways chapter 12 is indeed incoming. At some point.

We've all heard of "The Glimmer of Hope is alive and loves Kallus" but now consider
The Glimmer is alive and has a crush on The Shadowcaster, Ketsu's ship, who does not have an AI. She's all brawn and no brain but also The Glimmer is into that

I have a couple more little bits I keep getting stuck on in the next chapter of Passenger that I can't seem to get past so instead I'm gonna give a gift to my loyal Two People Who Follow Me Here Who Read My Fic with a little sneak peek instead:
Kallus was quiet for a long moment. “Do you know why I joined the Empire?” “If you’re like every other imp I’ve met?” Kanan shrugged. “It always boils down to power.” “I wanted to help people. I saw what the Clone War did to the galaxy. It was turmoil, chaos. The Empire promised order. I wanted to bring peace to the people.” Kanan scoffed. “Yeah? And how did that turn out for you? How peaceful is the galaxy now?” “What, besides what you and your people are doing? Sowing disharmony?” Kallus asked with a raised eyebrow. “The rebels didn’t destroy Geonosis. That was your people.”  “So Zeb suggested.” “The rebels didn’t destroy Lasan, either.”  Kallus felt as if he’d been kicked in the chest. “...No. No they didn’t.”
anyways look forward to about equal parts angst and family fluff once I finally manage to shake another like. paragraph or two out of my brain <3
