What if I told you that I’m split in half? What if I told you I am the knife?

“Admit it was on purpose. Confess that you saw the rot and chose to stay. That you touched the cobwebs and the dusty staircase and you loved me still. That you saw it all and lived there deliberately. That you fixed the leaky faucet instead of turning it off and changed the light bulbs instead of kneeling in broken glass. Tell me you weren’t blind and deaf to it, promise you loved me knowingly.”
like a hug or a word of encouragement; a little something to make you feel better. inspired by @mitch--douglas
ingredients
2 oz mead
.75 oz lemon juice
.50 oz ginger liqueur
6-8 cardamom pods
orange peel
method
crush cardamom pods at the bottom of your shaker until the seeds are released
add mead, lemon juice, ginger liqueur, and ice
shake until chilled
double strain into a glass with fresh ice, express your orange peel over it and enjoy
top tip! this drink lends itself well to lengthening. fill your glass with soda water if you prefer something bubbly.
PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. to make this nonalcoholic, use 3oz apple juice and .50 oz honey instead of mead and ginger liqueur, and muddle some fresh ginger root in while you’re crushing the cardamom pods. you’ll have to really crush that ginger to get its juice!
