Hello! I had a question: would Koda be able to sell readings in the Trading hub? I was thinking I'd like to start writing him sort of re-creating his shop from before D-Day in the hub (and get himself a bit more involved in the black market via NPCs). And in general, how would a survivor go about becoming a merchant? Is it a separate thing like Elite jobs or?
This is a really excellent and exciting question! Hope you don't mind me answering publicly, it just entails a few things that may apply to other people as well! So yes, I think Koda could totally do that! It sounds like a really awesome idea actually! In terms of Merchants vs. Elites etc: most Merchants are Elites, if only by nature of the services they provide and the access they usually need. However, not all Merchants who sell at the Hub necessarily have to be Elites. For Koda's purposes, I think he could get away without being one, considering what he'd be selling would be more of a skill related service, and would not require any explicit access to trading goods, per se. All stall proposals, however, would have to be run by Colony Officials, and actually a good point of contact for this would be Angel Thorne since he's the Merchant Coordinator. It wouldn't necessarily be solely up to him, but he'd be involved in the decision making process. Koda would need to essentially submit a proposal/application to the Colony Officials/Merchant Guild and wait to hear back. Now, since Angel isn't currently being played, you could definitely come up with your own headcanons and plot points about how something like that might go for Koda, and how he'd feel about talking to Angel about it, or Angel being involved, since I believe they didn't necessarily get along. You do, however, have permission from us to assume that one way or another, Koda's request is approved in the end. The other thing to note is that, in this scenario, since he wouldn't be an Elite, they would likely require his stall to be sort of a piggybacked off of another Elite Merchant's stall (an extension off the back or side of it, for instance, or just nestled close to, etc) so that Koda's activities at the Hub could be loosely considered 'supervised'. Whether that Merchant in question actually pays Koda any mind at all is entirely up to you. And finally, this is probably obvious, but in terms of his involvement in the Black Market, this would be something he'd be involved in 'under the table' and in secret. Obviously his readings would be the public and Colony approved sales/trades, but if he were to get involved in some sort of illegal trading, he could carefully do it under the front of his stall at the Hub, or just using the connections he makes there. Also just a little clarifying general note for anyone else curious: someone doesn't have to have a stall at the Hub to be involved in the Black Market. A good example of this would be Corbin Ealy. Hope this answers all of your questions and gives you a more clear idea of how to go about it! As always, don't be afraid to reach out if you need anymore help or have anymore questions moving forward! Thanks again! xxR

DEFENSIVE SCENARIO - CYCLE 5, ROUND 3
Positioned in an outer line of defence, close to the territory border, CORBIN EALY is hiding with a sniper stim gun. Two opponents start to cross over from enemy lines at a run, armed with pistols. No one is a keyholder. Corbin takes aim and fires—great shot! It hits ALOIS VAN ASCH in the neck, and he goes down in surprise. ANNIE PERRAULT ducks, whirling around in a panic, and goes to try to help her friend. Corbin fires again—misses. Again—misses. Damn! Got cocky with that first one. He has to reload now, and tries to do so quickly. He fumbles, dropping some of the cartridges. Curses. Now, Alois and Annie are up and running—right in the direction of one of the lanterns. Corbin may have missed his opportunity to fire, and the trouble is, he knows the last person guarding that lantern was recently eliminated. Is anyone around it now? Is it worth the risk to hope this late in the game? Stakes are high—we’re down the wire people!!

A HELPING HAND || mitch & corbin
@call-corbin
[[ To say Mitch had an abundance of free time since he was restricted from the labs would be a bit of a misnomer; his schedule had freed up, certainly, but the teacher was nothing if not terribly adept at filling that free space back in. He’d picked up some extra office hours and tutoring blocks, as well as additional one-on-one remedial training with a few of his Infection trainees. He’d even finally done what he promised Alex months ago, and started attending AP training again with a reliable consistency.
The fact that he was now seeing Cambie much more intimately had, of course, absolutely nothing to do with that.
Still, though, there were times when a void to fill yet existed, and occasionally that meant showing up to rotation early, figuring he could use his time to free up more for others if he got a head start on the chores. As he pushes through the door into the kitchen with the intention of putting together a plan for the most efficient tackling of meal prep, Mitch is surprised to see he’s not the only one there -- but this individual seems to be staying late rather than appearing early. ]] Mr. Ealy. [[ The formality is somewhat ironic; Mitch knows well as anyone Corbin’s not the formal type. He steps up next to the dishes basin and lifts his eyebrows curiously. ]] Get stuck with some extras?

munit haec et altera vincit || clove & corbin
@call-corbin
{There’s a collective sigh of relief that echoes silently throughout the colony once the rain finally ceases and it’s deemed safe enough for people to venture back outside. Clove, for one, shares that very same sentiment, and he’s one of the first to seek stepping back into the outside world the moment the green light is given. Fervent deep breaths of fresh air fill his lungs with every step he takes. Footsteps squelch in the mud, clots of it clinging to the underside of his shoes; but for once he doesn’t care. Despite not having been in any real physical danger it still feels as if though they’ve survived the end of the world all over again. The mood within the colony walls had turned stale and electric; too many explosive personalities crushed into close quarters with no way to escape.
They wouldn’t have survived much longer, even if the labs had somehow managed to find a way to extend the food rations another week or two. Even with most of the outer parts of the colony reopened, there’s a tight strung tension running through the crowds of 22. Suspicion and uncertainty lay heavy in the air, the arrival of several crates declared as fragile and for the Chancellor’s eyes only serving only to further underlying unrest. Curiosity nags at him like a frustrating itch just out of reach; but the covertness of the entire situation leaves him with little more than his trust and faith in Quinn to get by on, and it’s for his own sanity that he instead focuses his mind on situations requiring his personal attention.
With their food stock running dangerously low it’s unavoidable that the moment the rain softens the chores rotation starts up once more. The difficult circumstances thrown their way has left them with preciously little fresh food, doubling the imperative importance that those sent out hunting return successful. Despite this it’s nothing short of a distasteful joke sent from above that Clove finds Corbin Ealy’s name on the list of those with infected senses to be sent out for hunting. Corbin who never seems to catch anything. Corbin who, according to reports, talks too much and cares too little for the job at hand.
It’s hardly a secret that the two of them are on less than friendly terms; Clove’s irritation and frustration at Corbin’s seeming lack of interest in anything which doesn’t directly benefit him often met with bitter resentment and an attitude sharp enough to cut glass. Their conversations, should they be unlucky enough to come face-to-face, are brisk and without many pleasantries. And while Clove cares little for what Corbin thinks of both him and the Reformists, it’s getting progressively harder for him to control his anger towards Corbin’s aloof attitude towards basically everything.
It is therefor no surprise that Clove’s enjoyment of finally breathing fresh air again rapidly dwindles the moment he sets eyes on Corbin, expression tightening as he makes to approach the other with a tight lipped mouth and rather distasteful expression.}
Ealy. A word. And let’s make it quick, I don’t have all day.

ETHAN KERR | TWENTY TWO;  SURVIVOR
House: Brink Security Class: 1 Status: Uninfected
HISTORY
tw: rape
Ethan never did anything he didn’t want to. Growing up in an orphanage before eventually being transferred to foster care, Ethan had always been a stubborn, picky child. If he didn’t like the food placed in front of him, he wouldn’t eat; if the other children were mean to him, he’d spend his days alone; if he didn’t want to be somewhere, he simply wouldn’t go.
So when Ethan decided he couldn’t stay with his foster parents anymore, he ran.
And it wasn’t so much rebelliousness that drove him, but rather fear and discontentment, thinking he could change directions and steer himself away from unhappiness, regardless if the logic in his choices themselves was severely lacking. If he wasn’t happy, he had will enough to try to change it, but what he didn’t have was forethought, common sense, stability. He ran because he couldn’t handle his surroundings, felt drowned in the huffs and cries of a house too full, arguments too plenty, and his environment consumed him with a desperation to escape it. Maybe if he ran long enough, hard enough, he’d find a place to breathe, where the air would be cleaner, the world a little less small.
But that was when he’d been younger, less jaded and faith less crushed. At sixteen he’d run, and instead slept on friend’s couches, took up shit, bottom of the barrel jobs to try to feed his half-starved self. But by eighteen he’d realized that you couldn’t just run away from a shit hand you’d been dealt, that there was no such thing as escaping what you once were to aimlessly stumble across happiness.
It’d started when he was seventeen and crashing at a friend’s house, the first place he’d stayed longer than a few weeks in ages. He was a new friend, a boy he’d met while working as a stock and bar hand at a dingy pub in Manchester. “Corbin”, as the boy called himself, (though Ethan later found out his real name was Sam), was someone Ethan felt drawn to based on the fact that Corbin was parentless and had been living on his own in apparent ‘luxury’ since the age of sixteen. And Corbin seemed so carefree, so smug and content, always a smirk hanging crookedly off his face, a fag sitting half smoked behind his ear. And Ethan admired him, at first, because Corbin had the sense of freedom Ethan had been looking for; he was everything Ethan thought he wanted to be.
So he fell easily under Corbin’s wing, fast friends and attached at the hip. It was only a matter of weeks before he realized the true source of Corbin’s cash and way of life. ‘Got my start just on cam, y'see,’ he’d told him. 'It really ain’t so bad. Who could turn down gettin’ paid to toss off? Everyone wants to love what they do, mate—and I get 'ta.’
Corbin had since moved on to hustling via an ‘escort service’ online, and Ethan, under his friend’s encouragement, started the same way Corbin had. Harmless, online servicing. There was no true trouble in that, right? And though Ethan was hesitant, nervous at first, Corbin had been right about one thing—those feelings melted quickly as the money started pouring in. Being self-sufficient and showered in attention was startlingly effective in feeding his confidence and ego.
By eighteen, Ethan and Corbin were inseparable, partners in crime, sex and minor but illegal activity. Ethan had been heading home on the rail from a particularly well-paying job when D-Day had struck, and though he hasn’t seen him since, he still believes that Corbin survived; he can feel it, he says. Corbin had been so alive, so full of spark, despite his dark and twisted interior, that if he were dead, Ethan would know. He’d just know.
ETHAN TODAY
At first, Ethan had made it his mission to get back to the remains of Manchester to find Corbin, but waves of looters hanging around the borders of the cities made it impossible for Ethan to get through on his own. He’d almost been knifed more times then one, so after a few months, he put those efforts on the back burner.
When an opportunity arose to join a traveling clan of about ten, Ethan took it out of desperation, despite the fact that they were traveling in the wrong direction. He needed the support system, the safety, not only to keep him from wasting away on his lack of resources, but also to keep him sane. It’d seemed a wise decision at the time, and he’d told himself that he’d still make his way back eventually to find his friend.
Unfortunately, he’d misjudged the passersby. They were proving less trustworthy than he’d have hoped, frequently betraying each other and leaving others to fend for themselves when trouble with looters arose. Ethan, who couldn’t bring himself to be so cruel, became the helpful and compassionate one of the group, and though he hoped it would help secure his safety among them, in the end it only made him a target for vulnerability. When they found out what he’d done for a living, stories he’d let slip just when he’d thought he was settling in, they taunted him with it, turned him into a tool for their loneliness and threatened his life should he disagree.
Ethan still doesn’t know if he considers it rape or not. He feels morally confused based on his previous choices and his uncertainty on whether or not he’d truly been forced. Physically, he never had been, though verbally and emotionally was a different story. But something Ethan is troubled with now is the question as to why he hadn’t run. He’d spent his whole life running, why then had he not turned around and escaped the toxic environment just like he always had before? Had his life with Corbin taught him to be placid, to make lemonade rather than just throw the blasted things out and get oranges?
He doesn’t know where he stands anymore, has trouble finding himself, and though his somewhat accidental rescue by Colony 22 crusaders who’d found him when he’d been wandering not far from camp had been his saving grace, he still battles confusing feelings of guilt over the moment the crusaders had asked if he was alone, and he’d said yes. Had it been cowardly to let the people he’d lived amongst almost three years continue to barely survive, or had it been justified, smart, to save himself and never look back?

currently;
Elly’s been grappling with how close she wants to get to people in this time---whether she wants to develop any ties that will necessarily be severed when she gets sent back. Nevertheless, she used to be a social animal (not an extrovert, exactly, but very fond of certain people.) Right now, she counts Paxton Semenyuk and Andreya Roche as near-to-friends, for good or ill. Both have some awareness of her situation, and have helped her feel a little more tethered to this timeline, though she has mixed emotions about that happening.
She’s also a fan of Corbin Ealy, because (to her mind) who the fuck wouldn’t be, and enjoys just spending casual time with Lake Valentine, who is closer to her ‘actual’ age, and with his gift for self-propelled rambling, doesn’t demand too much in return. Generally speaking, she gravitates towards anyone who can distract her for a time from what’s in her head, but she draws the line at getting into trouble. She hides in her shell and likes it that way, though she’s shown a more playful personality when she’s happy and feels safe.
On the therapy side, she’s had dealings with both Callum Wesley, who she actually sort of likes even if she’d rather antagonize than talk to him, and Dante Carrington, who she would really like not to like. While Wes seems to approach her from a more friendly standpoint, she appreciates Carrington’s no-bullshit approach to dealing with her Delusion and mental state.
future plots/relationships;
Friendships: As mentioned above, Elly has difficulty building serious ties to anyone here, despite what she might have in common with a lot of them. She feels eternally like an outsider, an observer, and she doesn’t want the heartbreak of saying goodbye to people.
The Quest: Her drive is mostly to collect information---anything at all useful to helping humanity when she goes back to before D-Day. It’s her primary goal, and she sees it as her reason for being here. Something worth exploring would be someone who wants to work at odds to that, and keep her from learning too much.
Deludeds Unite: While no one can probably relate to exactly what she’s going through, the Deluded have a better shot at getting real connections from her. She doesn’t seek anyone out, however, and isn’t given to prying into people’s lives, so this kind of trust takes time to build with her.
Who Am I?: Having been pretty directionless and undecided before, Elly has relied on others to define who she is---the disappointing daughter, the beloved partner, and now the time-traveller on a quest/Deluded misfit. Who she is aside from all of that is a question she’s managed to avoid answering for a very long time. Someone confronting her about this and helping her to face herself would definitely be appreciated.
Side Note re: Ships: Romance is obviously tricky when you’re a newlywed who’s possibly widowed or at the very least displaced from your wife. While it wouldn’t be likely that anyone could ever distract Elly from her adoration of Lucy, flirtation isn’t unwelcome, and complicated relationships can definitely be explored. She’s actually only 21 in her head, and not inherently responsible. Also, Elly is homosexual---just in case she hasn’t mentioned loving women and being married to one 500000 times to you already.

↳  Heya frans! I present to you my third gif pack of the adorable-sexy Texan model, Cole Mohr. This pack contains approximately #85 medium, HQ textless gifs from various promotional media and interviews. All gifs were made by me. Click HERE for my gif page directory or check out the SOURCE LINK BELOW to be taken directly to the gif page! (If you are seeing this from my blog and can’t find the source link, try liking the post then checking your likes from the dash!) Feel free to use these for all your roleplaying needs, but please DO NOT crop them into icon-sized gifs then repost them as your own. Please DO like/reblog the post if you find this pack helpful and/or use them :) Enjoy!

CALCARD CHECK: WEEKLY CHORE ROTATION
Daily chores are allocated at the beginning of each week and infected survivors are then responsible for those duties for the duration of seven days. Citizens are to scan their PDDs under the Calcards in their house common rooms every Monday morning to receive their new rotation. Rotations are randomized, but citizens will cycle through all 6 in a random order, before starting over; the only way someone might get the same chore two weeks in a row, is if they happen to be appointed the same chore in week 6 of one cycle, and week 1 of the next.
PDD reads: {Good morning citizens, thank you for logging in. As you know, Colony 22 operates on a system of equal opportunity and contribution. As such, your assigned chore for this week is: [ ROTATION HERE ]. This is week 2 of 6 in this cycle.}
