Tella x Jacks moments from the Caraval books

As you can see I’m biased when it comes to the ships in Caraval. I admit I was fine with DantexTella at the beginning of Legendary, then Jacks stepped on stage and I immediately jumped on the JacksxTella ship. Their somewhat tragic story broke me at the end of Finale. So now I’m drawing them nonstop while listening to “Can you hold me” and “Wait” from NF. The drawings are inspired by parts of the story, their clothes too somewhat following the descriptions in the book. (While I also took some liberties as an artist, hehe.) “It feels like a tear in my heart Like a part of me missing And I just can't feel it I've tried and I've tried And I've tried Tears on my face I can't take it If lonely is a taste then it's all that I'm tasting Do you hear my cry?” -NF: Can you hold me In Legendary I was surprised to learn that Tella is more than meets the eye. I like her stubborn adventurous nature and that she has this ‘either my way or no way’ attitude. Even though she started to crumble in Finale, she kept the number one spot in my heart as a heroine. Scarlett was closer to me personalitywise but her sister’s part of the story was a much interesting read. Her daring deals with both Legend and Jacks raised higher stakes. And don’t even get me started on Jacks. I’ve been thinking about his powers a lot, mostly because emotion-control is one of the most dangerous powers I’ve ever heard of and he didn’t really make use of them until he really had to. And it kept me thinking: if he can control human emotions, then he can probably sense them too. On more occassions he pointed out what Tella feels even when she denied his notions. Does that mean he can feel everybody’s emotions around him? Isn’t that overwhelming? How can he tune them out? It is also a fact that he has feelings too but a Fate’s emotions are on an entirely different level and dimension and also any emotion he feels is way stronger than any feeling a human can have. So when he uses his powers to take pain away from a human he feels that thousand times stronger? Dealing with human emotions causes him to feel these feelings more severely? Isn’t that just painful? (Because he feels and understands emotions for their real merit and knows exactly how it feels? - Also doesn’t this make him like, the strongest empath known? An intentionally apatethic empath to be precise.) And even when he makes people like him, doesn’t that make him feel lonely and hollow because nobody truly likes him but only because he forced them to do so? Aren’t these the reasons why he acts so disinterested all the time but still (judging by his actions) he still cares for some degree? And isn’t that why the prophecy says he is desperately trying to find his one true love? Because he assumes that this one person (1) won’t die from his kiss and (2) will probably love him back for real? Just some questions and assumptions...

Guys I think I just found a big connection between Caraval and OUABH…

(This post contains spoilers)

Ok so I was re reading Finale and I got to the part of Evangeline’s cameo and I noticed this.

Legend mentions someone named “Delilah” which I don’t remember hearing about in the series before. And as legend says she apparently peddles potions during Caraval. Also she was mentioned in the only part of the book that mentions Evangline specifically- so she’s already connected to Evangline. I don’t know how I recalled this but i somehow remembered where I had heard the name before- the B&N bonus content in OUABH…

Legend doesn’t say “Delilah Sage” but when it comes to Stephanie’s books coincidences don’t really happen.

So then I started to read the B&N version and I noticed all the references to bells and bells having an inhuman sense of hearing. That brought me back to the Caraval collectors editon…

WHY ALL THE MENTION OF BELLS???

From the way the girl in the collectors edition is described it’s obvious it’s Evangline- especially because it happens in her fathers shop.

BUT WHO IS THE MAN???

From the apple in the B&N edition we can infer one of them is Jacks in that version- but from the material in the collectors edition we can’t make that connection strangely enough.

If any of you have any ideas please reblog with your own theories!! These are all the connections I made but I’m sure there might be more!
