poor dario is a permanent sketch in my ipad . i think he and khalila r the only ones in the main group i don’t have a fully colored thing of o,,,: hopefully i’ll think of smth for the two but anyhow look at him grow ! pretty much kept the same design but defined his face a little more

I like the idea of Dario, while not converting, willingly changing bits of his lifestyle so that it doesn't conflict with Khalila, or tempt her etc. Not eating pork, making sure their food is halal, trying not to drink as much (this would make a fun self loathing spiral if he's in a bad place), refraining from sex and swearing during Ramadan. I don't think he'd regularly fast alongside her but he makes sure to break/start her fast with her,as like, a witness to her efforts. Not to mention of course defending her prayer times like a guard dog (this also has good angst potential. Because yknow, these two need MORE reasons to have the 'stop making decisions for me!!' fight for the 5th time)

What was Wolfe’s job for the approximately 20 years he worked for the Library?

Clearly the job description “Scholar” just means he has the equivalent of a doctorate. There are different areas of academia (eg. Dario is a history researcher, Thomas is a mechanical engineer) but Wolfe’s job seems to be a little more practical.

He has apparently been in 10 war zones and is qualified to act as a diplomatic envoy. (He also has unhealthy relationships with alcohol and work)

Is there an entire field of scholars whose jobs are to identify and extract original books? This job explains why he works with Santi (the High Garda are pretty much a militia acting as law enforcement) and is thematically consistent with the series.
