Admin’s note: Ayato is a boy who tries to save Yui by avoiding her, whom he loves more than anyone. It can be said that this is a great sacrifice for Ayato, who is very thirsty for Yui's blood. This boy can be very loving and kind in some places. This CD showed different aspects of Ayato's personality.

The first drama CD with the theme of Yui's death.

The beginning of the CD was very dramatic and symbolic. Ayato who stands on top of the tower and mocks the human race. This could be a sign of Ayato's low self-confidence. Because contrary to the opinion of many people who consider Ayato to be proud and selfish, Ayato is not like that at all. In fact, the truth is that Ayato has low self-confidence and tries to look his best in front of others so that no one will notice that he doesn't even trust himself.

The reason Ayato makes fun of the human race is because he doesn't want to show how attached he is to Yui. He even lies to himself to deny this truth. But Ayato's thirst to Yui's blood doesn’t allow him to get away from her, and this thirst may be due to Adam's curse.

The story begins with Yui sleeping on the couch and Ayato surprises her by sucking her blood while she is asleep. This is completely natural in Ayato's relationship with Yui, because Ayato enjoys bantering and joking with Yui in many places and even likes to watch her embarrassed face.

But the interesting thing here is that Ayato has noticed Yui's lack of weight and asks her about it. Although Ayato pretends that he doesn't care, the fact that he noticed Yui's lack of weight shows that Ayato cares a lot about Yui's health, but he doesn't want to show it in front of Yui.

Yui also realizes that Ayato is worried about her, even though Ayato denies it, but Yui realizes that Ayato is not only being honest with himself and that her health is important to him.

Yui's offer to walk with Ayato shows that Yui really wants to spend more time with Ayato. A place where no one bothers them and only the two of them can spend time together, and the fact that Ayato accepted this offer shows that even Ayato himself enjoys the time he spends with Yui, but he doesn't show it because he doesn't want to be weak or to look spoiled.

Walking and spending time by a river and waiting for the sunrise seems dreamy and romantic for a human, but Ayato thinks this is stupid. In his opinion, this is a waste of time. Because unlike humans, the passage of time is very slow for vampires because they are immortal.

It's lovely to relive Ayato's first memories with Yui and how they met. But the interesting thing is that Ayato even remembers that day much more accurately than Yui, and this shows that the moments Ayato spends with Yui are very precious to him, so that he remembers even the smallest details.

Yui expresses her feelings to Ayato and tells him that even though she was afraid of him on the first day, but now she is not afraid of him anymore and Ayato is very important to her, but the story becomes sad where Ayato tells Yui that he will stay by her side forever.

When Ayato makes this request from Yui, Ayato realizes that Yui is worried about this and knows that the problem is that she is a human and unlike vampires, she does not have immortal life. The fact that Ayato immediately noticed the reason for Yui's concern shows that he has already thought about this. Because Yui is a human being, he cannot stay with her forever.

This issue not only bothers Yui but also Ayato, so he forced Yui to stop talking about it and think about something else. This means that even the thought of leaving Yui bothers Ayato and Ayato doesn't want to think about it even for a short moment.

Yui's dream seemed to me to be a symbolic scenario for her relationship with Ayato. It showed that even if several decades pass, Ayato will not give up on Yui and will take care of her. He will take her with him to different places and even take care of her till the end of his life.

It was as if Yui heard the words that Ayato always tried to hide from her in her dream. Ayato may make fun of Yui's body in appearance, but in reality, none of Yui's physical features are important to Ayato. That's why Ayato hugged Yui and said, "I don't care what you look like." What is important is your inside because you are the same person inside.

Although this scenario was not real, in my opinion, it was one of the most important fears of Ayato and Yui in their relationship. Both of them want to stay together forever but it is impossible.

That's why Yui was happy when she found out that it was just a dream, but she likes to hear those words from Ayato's mouth because Yui thinks that her only value to Ayato is her blood, something that Ayato has told Yui many times, but Yui doesn't know about the secret of the Ayato's heart.

For this reason, Yui continuously offers her blood to Ayato without any hesitation because she thinks that it can be useful for Ayato. But Ayato avoids Yui and tries to break her heart with lies so that Yui hates Ayato and can easily leave him. Ayato just doesn't want to hurt her by sucking her blood again.

The fact that Ayato tried to avoid Yui and suck other people's blood instead of her to keep her alive is really cute even though Ayato is aware that only Yui's blood will quench his thirst and Ayato accepts this fact. Who is dependent on Yui and cannot live without her.

Yui is constantly looking for Ayato because she wants to give him her blood. Or rather, because she wants to be with Ayato. She doesn't want Ayato to stay away from her to save her, she simply wants to stay by Ayato's side.

But Ayato tries to hide his true feelings with cruel words and this truth that he doesn't even want to approach her because he is afraid of hurting her.

But finally he confesses. Ayato admits that the one who is afraid here is not Yui but himself.

Ayato is afraid of losing Yui. Yui is the dearest person in his life and Ayato admits that he cannot live without Yui. But he hates that Yui is still determined to give him her blood even though she knows that she might die. He admits that Yui is very strong even if she is physically weak. All humans are weak, but according to Ayato, Yui is a strong and brave girl despite her weak body, even braver than Ayato. Ayato considers himself a coward because he is afraid of losing Yui.

He doesn't want to lose Yui because he can't live without her, so he finally decides to kill himself.

But like Ayato, Yui won't let Ayato die because she loves him from the bottom of her heart and Yui's sacrifice makes Ayato cry.

All this time, Yui wanted to know Ayato's true feelings for her, and now she is sure that Ayato loves Yui more than anyone. To the extent that he cannot live without her and is willing to sacrifice himself to save Yui. So we can conclude that the passage of time has made Ayato too dependent on Yui. So that he cannot live without her. His life is eternal and boring and even death is a celebration for him, but Yui makes him want to live and be by her side and protect her.

I mean, if you want to date either Reiji or Ruki, you basically need to be somewhat interested in literature or you’ll be bored a lot. That being said, there are some genuinely cute moments in this CD. It’s crazy how Reiji went from ‘you’re a ball of faults’ in HDB to actually being a loving and caring boyfriend. :p

“Not many bookstores are quite as big, or have such an extensive collection as this one does. It’s a sight to behold, don’t you think? ...Anyway, did that book in your hands catch your attention?”

You explain.

“...’Because the cover looked pretty’, very much sounds like a reason you would give.”

You ask him about the book. 

“It’s a poetry collection written in Latin. I am sure it has many beautiful poems inside.”

You frown and admit to not being able to read any of them.

“Hm? You can’t read Latin? ...I suppose it cannot be helped then. Let us look for a different book. This is an excellent opportunity to find a book which even you would have no trouble reading.”

You thank him.

You ask Reiji what his favorite kind of book is

“Oh dear? You want to know my literary preferences? I do not just read one specific genre of books though…”

“You want to give me a book as a present? If you wish to offer me a piece of literature to apologize for your usual blunders, perhaps you could try and simply cause me less trouble instead? However, I shall gladly accept the sentiment. ...In which case, I have a suggestion. How about we choose one fixed genre, for example mystery novels. Each of us will purchase one book of our personal preference and swap after we’ve finished reading it, giving us a chance to experience the book the other person chose as well.”

You seem excited about the idea.

“Fufu, a fine response. In which case, we better head towards the mystery section. I have visited this store once in the past, so allow me to escort you.”

The two of you start walking. 

“Speaking of which, it appears there is an area in the back where customers can sit down and read the books. I heard many students use the space for studying as well. It is quiet and seems rather cozy, so how about I instruct you there some time in the future?”

You agree.

“No need to thank me. By doing so, I get to visit this store with you again, as well as take a look at the new arrivals.”

You chuckle.

“If we attempt to study at home, someone will surely come and bother us. Therefore, this place is ideal to get some schoolwork done in peace. ーー It will be our little secret, okay?”

You nod.

“Exactly. It’s a promise. ...Well then, we should reach the section with the mystery novels soon.”

*TIMESKIP*

“It should be around here. Various books within the mystery genre have been gathered here.”

You look around.

“There are books written in other languages as well. However, since you will have to read them too this time, I suppose an easier book would be preferred. Well then…”

Reiji walks over to one of the shelves.

“Please try and select one from this shelf.”

You seem hesitant.

“You are unsure how to choose? While there is nothing wrong with basing your selection on the cover or short summary (1), you could take a quick look inside as well. Why don’t you try flipping through and reading a few passages?” 

You nod and start looking at the books.

*Flip flip*

“You are rather serious about the selection process. Well then, I suppose I should make my decision as well. Something which would strike her fancy.”

*TIMESKIP*

*Thud*

“I have selected my book. Have you made your pick as well?”

You nod and show him the book. 

“This book? Not a bad choice coming from you.”

You smile.

“Yes. Let us enjoy reading these together with a cup of tea once we’re back home.”

You agree.

“Well then, let us go pay for these and head home at once.”

You frown.

“Oh dear? What is the matter? It seems like there is something you want to tell me, but I can’t read your mind.”

You admit to not wanting to leave yet. 

“Oh? You are being rather honest about your craving for attention today. Very well. Let us walk around the store just a little longer. When you beg for it in such a way, I also find it difficult to head home instead.”

You thank him.

“No need to thank me. Well then, is there a specific section you would like to check out? This store does not only carry books, but offers various other goods and even food items as well.”

You offer to look at the food section.

“Ah, you make a fair point. If we want to enjoy a cup of tea later, we need some snacks to serve alongside it. This store carries a fine assortment of snacks, so it is the perfect place to look. I heard that the cookies in particular are sublime.”

You look around at the different snacks. 

“I believe you can simply select your favorites, without worrying about it too much. Although...I suppose something light in flavor which would not clash with the aroma of the tea would be optimal in this case.”

You agree.

“...Have you made your decision? Mmh. A sweet type of biscuit, I see? I’m sure that would pair well with the refreshing taste of the tea. Well then, let’s add those to our purchases and proceed to the check-out.”

*TIMESKIP*

The two of you are on the way back home. 

“You seem rather pleased. Are you that excited to get to reading once we arrive home?”

You nod.

“I see. (mumbles) I should have invited you along with me much earlier if I had known how happy it would make you.”

You ask Reiji if he said anything. 

“Ah, no, nothing. Right, if you find yourself struggling with any of the terms inside the book, I will gladly provide assistance. However, you know what will happen if you have the audacity to fall asleep in the middle of reading, no?”

You tell him that you know very well. 

“Fufu, very well. Well then, let us get going.”

( At some point, I grew tired of counting, or even thinking about how many times I had played the same song, or how many days - or perhaps even months - had passed since she fell into a deep slumber. )

*Snap*

“Oh...The string...I haven’t taken care of this thing for a while, so I guess this was bound to happen. ...In the end, my song never reached you, huh?”

*Thud*

He walks over to the bed.

“I’ve honestly seen enough...of this never-changing expression. I wish I could have seen a glimpse of your past self for one last time, but I guess it can’t be helped.”

He takes a seat.

*Rustle*

“I’m sure you’re aware, but I always hated being waken up from my naps. Therefore, hearing your approaching footsteps was the most annoying sound in the world to me. However, having your face be the very first thing I saw when I opened my eyes after you interrupted my sleep, honestly wasn’t half bad. ...Just the fact I felt that way, means that you must have at least meant something to me. 

...If you were to ask me the same question you did before, then I would probably give you the following answer. ーー You are special to me. Not because your blood is delicious. You are the only woman on this planet who I wouldn’t want to lose, even if your blood were to disappear, If only I had said these words to you back then...”

Shuu suddenly collapses onto the sheets.

*Rustle* 

“...Ah...The effects are finally kicking in, huh? ...I haven’t been getting a wink of sleep as of late...So to ensure I can finally get a sound sleep...Cough, cough...”

*Cling*

“I drank a certain drug from this bottle earlier...You’re not going to wake up anyway...So you don’t mind if I sleep alongside you, right? Even if that is an eternal slumber...When you’re with me, I don’t mind. That’s just how much Iーー...”

He scoots closer.

*Smooch*

“...love you. ...Ugh...Cough, cough...Haah, haah...I finally gave you the words you’ve been dying to hear...yet you’re missing out on them...You foolish woman...Hahaha...I guess I shouldn’t say that, huh...? Ugh...”

Shuu loses consciousness.

*Shatter*

( I lost the feeling in my limbs, before my mind went blank as well and before I knew it, I was unable to think of anything. I couldn’t fight back against my heavy eyelids. Now I can finally get some rest again. ーー That’s what I thought, yet...Aah, there it is again. I can hear her voice again. Per usual, she’s calling my name as if her life depends on it. I’ve heard this voice a million times, but in the end, it’s nothing but my mind playing tricks on me. Even if I wake up, you won’t be there anyway. Therefore, I chose eternal sleep. )

*Rustle* 

( You’re persistent...Guess you’re stubborn even within my dreams, huh? )

You continue to call his name.

( Oh come on...Just let me sleep... )

You persist.

I won’t deny that my wounds heal quicker when I have your blood...but I didn’t think it could serve as an antidote as well. Your blood really is something else. Well, you still won against it though. ...Oi, I don’t mind if you’re crying, but give me a good look at your face.”

“I’m asking you to move closer. My body still feels heavy, I can’t move. Come on, scoot over.”

You move closer.

“How long has it been...? I’m actually reflected in your eyes.”

Shuu embraces you.

“Haah...”

*Rustle*

“Keep still. I can’t put in much strength since my arms are still numb.”

You ask Shuu what happened.

“I’m the one who wants to know what happened. Honestly, what made you suddenly wake up? Is it because I finally genuinely admitted my own feelings...?”

You tilt your head to the side.

“You know, you’ve been asleep this whole time, remember?”

You look at him in surprisement.

“Don’t tell me, you didn’t have a clue?”

You nod.

“Well, it happened out of nowhere, so I guess it’s obvious considering you were unconscious as well. ...No, it’s fine if you don’t remember. That was a nightmare anyway.”

You ask him if it was rough.

“...Yeah.”

“A lot happened...It was one hell of a ride. But right now, rather than letting you go...”

You explain.

“Ahー So that’s why. Honestly, it would have been much easier to just come by myself, but I’d rather not make you upset again by ignoring you.”

You smile, thanking him.

“...I see. Whatever. ...Anyway, I requested a full maintenance along with replacing the broken string, so it might take a while. We’ll get in the way if we wait here, so let’s go over there.”

The two of you move to another room.

*Creaaak*

You look around.

“It’s a test room. Customers can use this place to test out the intruments before purchase. There’s nobody here right now, so the owner said we can make ourselves comfortable.”

You ask Shuu if he plans to buy a new violin.

“No, I’m not buying anything. I like my current violin.”

You seem confused, wondering why you’re here then.

“You really are a fool, aren’t you?”

Shuu pulls you closer.

*Rustle*

“To kill some time, obviously.”

You get slightly flustered. 

“It’s a perfect way to combat the boredom, no? It’s muh more comfortable than having to wander around outside. On top of that...This place is soundproof. You can scream as loud as you want, nobody will hear. I’m sure you like the sound of that as well? ーー That being said, we have to think about your health. I doubt you’re already back in top shape, so I won’t do anything if you don’t want me to.”

You hesitate. 

“Hm~? In that case, you want it?”

You go quiet.

“Cat got your tongue? I seem to recall a certain someone was displeased because they were being ‘used’?  Clearly tell me what you want. Right now, I can actually live up to your wishes. ...What do you want from me?”

You ask for his fangs. 

“Hehe...I hate being ordered around, but hearing you beg for it isn’t bad at all. Especially when it’s the words ‘Suck my blood, please’.”

Shuu bites you.

“Mmh...Nn...I said you could make all the noise you want, remember? It’s not like anyone but me can hear.”

You get embarrassed. 

“Heh. First you beg for it and now you get all embarrassed. You’re kind of contradicting yourself there, no? Well, it doesn’t matter. In that case, I’ll go for one of your more sensitive spots so you won’t be able to suppress your voice. Mmh...”

*Gulp*

“Hah...Exactly...Let me hear more...Why still hesitate at this point?”

You explain. 

“You’re worrying for nothing per usual. You no longer need to be scared that I’ll find you annoying or get tired of you. Well, I won’t deny that there’s times I get a little irritated by your behavior. I’m sure I might be a little grumpy when you disturb my sleep as well. 

However, I would never grow to dislike you over something like that. I already know what kind of woman you are. You’re the type to beg for my fangs in a place like this. On top of that, a loudmouth who loves to meddle with other people’s affairs and quite the handful at times. To be honest, too much of a bother to keep by one’s side. 

You puff out your cheeks. 

“Haha. It’s the truth, no? However, despite all of that, I don’t want to let you go. So don’t worry. Just let out your voice to your heart’s content, giving yourself over to me all you want. I’ve already decided I will love every side of you after all.”

Translator’s note: The Daylight CDs really love starting us off with some juicy angst, only to then insert a flashback and troll us poor listeners. Of course, I already had a faint suspicion that the MC would be in some sort of ‘coma’ after listening to the voice samples as well as Ayato’s Daylight CD. Usually Rejet is pretty good at making each CD feel unique despite the similar premise, so I hope they managed to do the same this time!

You apologize.

“If you’re just going to say sorry now, then why bother reaching out to me in the first place?”

You ask Shuu about the music.

“I’m currently listening to Liebesträume (1) by Liszt. I was still only on the first track as well.”

*Beep*

“ーー So, what do you need?”

You explain.

“Get ready for...what, exactly?”

You tell him it’s time for school.

“It’s that late already? ...Pwaaah...I’m going to skip today since it’s too much trouble. I was just getting a little sleepy, and I didn’t get to finish listening to this CD because of you.”

You try and defend yourself.

“Who else is there to blame? For one, this isn’t the first time this has happened. You are always on my case, telling me not to sleep somewhere, or telling me off for doing this or that. You approach me to get in my way quite often, no? If you truly have no idea how much of a bother that is to me, then I should probably be impressed rather than upset. When you’re at school is pretty much the only time I get to enjoy my music in peace. It’s not like it’ll make much of a difference if I attend classes or not.”

You tell Shuu he will get scolded by Reiji.

“Let him scold me all he wants. I honestly don’t care about Reiji’s lectures at this point.”

You continue to try and convince him.

...You’re so persistent. Ughーー”

Shuu turns around.

*Rustle*

“Ahー I get it now. If I skip class, you’re going to be in trouble, aren’t you? Reiji and the others know that you’re usually looking after me, don’t they? It’s obvious you’ll take the blame. ‘Why didn’t you bring him with you? That’s your responsibility’, just like that. It has happened in the past as well, no?”

You nod.

“My condolences. Why don’t you try your best to come up with some sort of excuse?”

You start to panic.

“...Hah. It’s hilarious how you start to panic right away. Although I get you for not wanting to get an earful from Reiji.”

You beg him to get ready for school.

“I won’t get changed. That’s the most annoying part.”

You start whining.

“You want me to change clothes that badly?”

You nod.

“In that case...Go ahead? I’ll do you the favor of keeping still while you do. Although in return, I’m not doing anything by myself. You like taking off my clothes, don’t you?”

You beg for him to work with you.

“I refuse. I don’t particularly mind if I don’t get changed after all.”

You puff out your cheeks.

“...What? Want to complain? If you do, then your shamelessness really knows no bounds. Just to remind you, I never asked for any of this. You’re the one who decided to approach me, as well as ask me to get changed. So I don’t think you’re in any position to get upset at me, just because I didn’t give you the reaction you desire? Let me ask you just in case, but you don’t think you’re doing this for my sake, are you?”

You frown.

“Exerting yourself for someone else’s sake is nothing but pure self-satisfaction in my eyes.”

You protest.

“Haah...Oiー Don’t cry over something like this. It hurts my ears.”

*Rustle*

“You’re annoying me by standing there. Hurry up and get out of my sight already.”

You leave.

*TIMESKIP*

Shuu is walking outside at night.

“...Pwaah...Hah?”

He spots you.

“...What are you doing here?”

You turn around, asking why he’s here.

“The peace at home got disrupted because Ayato and the others came home from school. I only came to the garden because I figured I could take a quiet nap. Although I guessed wrong since you’re here as well. ーー So, how about you? Why were you crouched down there with a gloomy expression on your face? Don’t tell me you’re still worried about what I said before we left for school?”

You nod.

“Honestly, you are such a bothersome woman. Was being called out for acting for your own benefit really that surprising? I don’t get you.”

You get up and start walking away.

*Rustle*

“Hold it.”

Shuu grabs hold of your arm.

“…You’re hurt by what I said, right? Then will you be happy if I ask for your services first?”

You tilt your head to the side.

“Then you won’t think you’re only doing it to feel better about yourself, right? There just so happens to be something I’d like to ask of you as well.”

You raise a brow.

“…Let me suck your blood. That’s pretty much the only thing I’d ever ask of you, right? I haven’t had any yet today either. Aren’t you nearly at that point where you start craving it as well?”

You try and deny it.

“Well...Even if you don’t, I doubt you can refuse.”

Shuu bites you.

“Mmh...Nn...”

*Gulp*

“ーーHah. I wonder why you always try and do unnecessary things even though this blood is all I need?”

 You look hurt.

“You’re always trying to stick your nose in my affairs, aren’t you? You could just keep quiet and give me your blood. I don’t understand why you would bother wasting your energy on anything else. All you need to do is behave and offer your blood. Anything beyond that is just annoying, unnecessary meddling. I hope you think about that the next time you considering approaching me.”

Translator’s note: I nearly screamed the first time I listened to this track. They really went there, huh? This track just has a bunch of feels and mindfucks. I honestly did not know what to think after it. In the past, I’ve always found Ayato’s CDs to be a bit ‘lackluster’ compared to the other characters but since he is always the first character to have their CD released, he does get the element of surprise.

You wake up in your bedroom.

“Phew...Thank god. You actually woke up...This seems like a dream. Your complexion had improved as of late, so part of me grew hopeful, but still...I didn’t think you’d actually...I can’t believe this! Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited for this moment? ...Say, do you know where you are?”

You answer.

“Exactly. Your room. I’m glad I left it untouched.”

You ask him what is going on.

“Where do I even start!? (1) ...No, I guess it’s normal you don’t know what’s goin’ on. You idiot. Ever since we went to the lake that night...Fifty whole years have passed, you see?”

Your eyes widen in sheer surprise.

“Guess I can’t blame you for bein’ shocked. But that amount of time has definitely passed. I’ve watched the years go by after all. Day after day, sittin’ here by your side...At first I was at a complete loss. I’m sure I looked like a fool, but I carried you around to various places. Ones which held memories to us. Thinkin’ that maybe that would trigger your awakening. ーー That’s not all. I did absolutely everythin’ within my power, until all there was left for me was to pray. Knowin’ very well such a thing didn’t suit me, for a whole fifty years I continued. That’s why...I still can’t quite believe this. I won’t let you claim you’ve forgotten about me.”

You call his name. 

“I’ll give you props for rememberin’. Well, I guess it makes sense. A mere fifty years are over in the blink of an eye for us Vampires. My appearance has barely changed either. I should still look the exact same as back then in your eyes.”

You suddenly flinch.

“What’s wrong? Does somethin’ feel off? Or are you in pain? If not that, do you feel sick in any way?”

You explain.

“Ah...You’re worried about the way your hands look, huh? I told you, didn’t I? Fifty years have passed.”

You ask Ayato for a mirror.

“A mirror, huh? I don’t mind but...Don’t be too shocked, okay?”

He fetches you a mirror.

*Rustle*

“Here you go. Will this do? ...You might look a lil’ different from how you remember yourself though.”

You peek into the mirror and shriek.

*Shatter*

“...It’s normal for humans to age, right?”

Ayato embraces you.

“No matter what you look like, you’re still the same inside.”

You voice your fears. 

“There’s nothin’ to be afraid of. I’m right here with you. I watched over you for a whole fifty years, you really think I’m goin’ to abandon you now? Soーー Be a lil’ more happy! Kuh...Ugh...”

You ask Ayato what is wrong.

“Ugh...I’m...fine...It’s nothin’...Ugh...”

You reach out for him.

“Kuhーー! Stop it! Don’t touch me! ...No, I’m sorry. I’m fine, really. You don’t need to worry about a thing. ...Haah, haah...”

You ask if he is thirsty.

“...Guess you could say that. Makes sense after goin’ fifty years without a single drop of blood. But I’ve already grown used to this pain. It’ll settle down in a sec...Kuh...”

You offer your blood.

“Don’t tell me you’re...Don’t be ridiculous! Cut it out!”

You insist.

“Stop! I don’t need it anymore! ...In the past, I would have surely fed off you without givin’ it a second thought, but I’ve changed. I’m satisfied just knowin’ you’ve finally woken up. I won’t ask for anythin’ else, so don’t grow so desperate. I’ll be...just fine.”

Ayato gets up and stumbles towards the door.

He turns his head.

“You stay there...Just worry about yourself instead. It doesn’t...matter what happens to me...as long as we can be together. That night by the lake, you told me, didn’t you? That all you wanted was to relax together. ...Your wish is about to be granted. After fifty long years. Let’s finally go and watch it together. The sun risin’ above the lake. Okay? ーー...

*SCENE SHIFT*

“...Chichinashi!! Oi! ...Guess I should just let her sleep for now. What is goin’ on, for real!?”

Ayato scratches his head.

“Ahー None of this makes sense! Did I go overboard perhaps? ...Actually, before she lost conscious...she was actin’ sorta off, goin’ on about how humans don’t live that long...How they can’t live forever. That’s...! Well, she did have a point. You’ll obviously be the first to...Still, it won’t happen right now, will it!? Oiーー! ...Oi, I said! ...Fuck! Chichinashi!!”

*Rustle*

“Don’t just be snoozin’...! Open your eyes...!”

“I bet you’re just pretendin’ to be asleep, right!? Quit playin’ ‘round! Hey!”

“Don’t show me that sloppy sleeping face of yours! I’m gonna doodle on it! Do you want that, huh!?”

“No use, huh? ...Then how ‘bout this!? I don’t mind makin’ some mind-blowin’ takoyaki for you! It doesn’t even have to be takoyaki. Your favorite dish! You immediately start inspecting your hands.

“What...? What’s wrong? Is somethin’ the matter with your hands?”

You sigh in relief. 

“Oi. Why do you suddenly feel relieved?”

You explain.

“You had a weird dream? Haah...I don’t get it. Do you know just how worrーー ...Whatever! Fuck...! If you’re fine, get up already! Who gave you permission to lie there passed out?”

You apologize.

“Hmph! ...A single sorry won’t save your ass. ...Ugh.”

You ask if he’s thirsty.

“What? Somethin’ wrong with that? ...I told you I’ve been more thirsty than usual as of late, haven’t I?”

You offer your blood.

“Heh. ...You’re tryin’ to get back on my good side with your own blood? ...No thank you.”

Your eyes widen in surprise.

“Whatcha so shocked about? I don’t want it. ...I’m not in the mood. I no longer need your blood. Bet you’re happy your wish came true, huh? You wanted this, didn’t you? A peaceful time together.”

You appear to be in shock. 

“Oi...What’s wrong? You’re not gonna faint on me again, are you? Give me a break already!”

You beg him to feed off you.

“...!? What are you doin’? Why do you want me to suck your blood so badly?”

You explain.

“Haah...? You want to be useful to me? What has gotten into you? It’s like you’re an entirely different person.”

You tell Ayato you can tell he is suffering because of you.

“…Ugh. Don’t be ridiculous! You think I’m sufferin’ ‘cause of you? Are you delusional? Stop talkin’ like you’re special. You’re not the only person on this planet who has blood pumpin’ through their veins.”

You try and protest.

“Stop. …I’ve heard enough.”

You offer your blood.

“I just told you I won’t suck your blood, remember?”

You beg.

“Cut it out! …The fuck’s goin’ on?”

You ask why he won’t suck your blood.

“I’m not in the mood right now. …Well, I’m leavin’ then. Seems like you’re healthy enough to complain at least.”

You ask him to wait.

“Shut up! I can go wherever I want! …For one, didn’t you hear me when I said I don’t need your stupid blood anymore? I’m done with you. Don’t you dare show your face before me ever again!”

Ayato leaves.

*Thud*

“...Kuh. ...Fuck!!”

He punches the wall.
