Beyond exhausted with all those ‘ecofascism’ posts. Yes, too many humans on this planet is a problem. No, that doesn’t mean we should start dropping atomic bombs. Yes, big corporations and intensive farming are 90% of that problem. No, that doesn’t mean you, the consumer, should happily eat burgers every day and build yourself a straw fort because #SelfCare. Like - guys, the middle ground is a thing, and probably a place we all should visit every once in a while.
Plus, what none of those posts mention is why some regions are so densely populated - too busy screaming at people who enjoy pictures of wild goats in a Welsh village to mention millions of women are literally kept out of school and sold into marriage and forced to submit so they keep having children? Statistics show very few women actually choose to have eight kids. For the majority, it’s rape and coercion leading them there. So maybe instead of ranting about foxes and swans and how we’re all fascists in our own secret and depraved ways, advocate for those women and support local and international activists who’re helping them have more agency over their lives.
