😘🐶💤 for Higuchi and Kunikida! (In case the Emojis don't show up, kissy face, dog face, and Zzz)
AHHHHHH this first and last ones are LITERALLY going to kill me they’re so cute >////
😘: What’s your f/o’s favorite thing about YOU?
UHHHHHHHHHHH I DON’T. KNOW???? I DON’T KNOW UHHH
Higuchi’s might be that I’m just...supportive? And there? Like I don’t leave her guessing if she’s enough I will always tell her and I’ll be there to cheer her up if she needs it or get back to her asap and I hope she appreciates it bc she deserves it!!
Kunikida! Uh probably that I collaborate with him on his scheduling and stuff! I’m all about making time and he’s all about allotting time so SOMETIMES it’s a little rough but I understand wanting to be organized! tbh he helps me get my life together a little bit because I’m a Certified Dumbass at some of these things and am TERRIBLE at setting aside time so I appreciate that! And like OBVIOUSLY I try to get him not to hyper-plan bc it isn’t good for him but I’m not radically anti- or pro-scheduling! I help him find a balance between all of his planning and the little things he needs to be done a certain way and letting life happen! It’s not always easy but I hope he likes that I’m willing to work with him >///
🐶: If you and your f/o were to get a pet, what would it be?
I feel like higuchi would let me live my dream and we’d get some kind of bird together! I don’t know why but it just seems like a nice little experience she’d love to have and I want a bird!!
I don’t think Kunikida would be open to getting a pet together but my cat and I are a package deal so he gets her as a bonus with me!
💤: Do you sleep together? If so, describe your sleeping positions and patterns (E.g. who steals the blankets, are either of you insomniacs, etc.)
AHH THIS IS SO CUTE IM
I, personally, have an awful time falling asleep. Higuchi does sometimes too like when she’s too high strung after work or when something bad happens! I like to cuddle next to her and it alternates between if she’s holding me or I’m holding her but I will riot if one of us is not holding the other
Uhh nobody really steals the covers or anything but we do stay up and talk about literally nothing sometimes though it’s nothing specific to just us...
With Kunikida, we’re not as touchy-touchy so I don’t wake him up (a tragedy for me) but we do normally like...face each other because I’d think he was mad at me if he doesn’t aslkdjfdkf although spooning.....he can be the big spoon....
but I have to be careful not to wake him because he works hard and needs his rest! sometimes I’ll get out of bed and read or something but i just like going to be with him bc even if it’s not the END end of the day for me it’s nice to nice to end the day TOGETHER yknow?

Hello hello~! Qavsell, it’s your giftee here!
So I visited your AO3 to look at the fics you’ve written and saw that you’ve only written one fic for BSD; I checked it out, because this particular fic concerns Sakaguchi Ango, and reading that name already makes my heart jump. It’s so refreshing to see a fic dedicated to such an underrated character. (I love Ango too, and you are right; he does deserve a hug).
Reading the summary, it also immediately took me into the story, and it had me worrying for the possibilities of what is happening to him; already the word “overworking” seems to be taking a toll on me. But I’m complimenting your summary because it is very well constructed, and it manages to talk about what the story is as a whole.
Finally, I read the fic. God, qav, I just have so many words to tell you; I did bring it up on an AO3 comment, but those aren’t really the only things going on in my head.
But, as I’ve said, not everything is said in that comment. I’m writing here the full length of that comment, and what I truly think of the fic.
The way you described Ango’s fatigue in the very first paragraph – may I quote the reference to the time in the clocks, “the time was always too late, too early, too soon, not enough” – and more on him overworking himself until day came and his coworkers came a-coming; you could seriously just relate to him, even if only a little bit.
When it was said that working had to be right for him – that work could be the only way to make up for the mistakes he made… agh, it made me wince. It made me feel sorry for the guy, and I love him too much, which is exactly why I loved this because you presented the very conflict that Ango can’t seem to truly get out of in such a good way, that it makes the reader feel sorry, but also relate to in some way (and also wonder to themselves what exactly he did… until they remembered his friendship with Dazai and Oda before. Well, to me anyway ^^;)
Also, the worry of his coworker was exactly me when I read the part where his nose started bleeding. God, you have no idea how much I whimpered at that part. And him in the restroom, vomiting, him looking in the mirror and realizing how tired he really was… aaaaa it was such good writing!! I really wanted to hug Ango at that part ;o;
But the ending, where he realizes that he should really do get some rest… aaa it felt so refreshing – relieving, actually. The feeling of knowing that Ango finally does know that he does need to rest is so good… gosh, that last sentence. I really love that last sentence.
Aaaaand this is what I have for you!! ;o; Your way of writing and words is so good, and in this fic I actually got to see what it was like in the workplace with Ango, even if I’m not in a position to understand what it really is to be like him. The atmosphere and the choice of words to describe things, the tiny little details you put in the fic, it’s all so good and so aesthetic. >////<
Overall, I really really enjoyed this fic! I hope you do write more, even if it’s only gonna be about your favorite characters (like Ango, per say). I’ll be sure to read them because like I said, your writing style is just brilliant!
Once again, I hope you are having a good day, qavsell! I would like to see more from you!
💌💌💌
Happy lovemail day! What an amazing person and fantastic writer you are!
I was so glad to have been assigned you as a partner for this, because I got to read an absolutely beautiful piece of writing that I otherwise would not have known about.
Your Ango fic is still on my mind, I’m legitimately rethinking my interpretation of his character because of how good your introspection for him was.
Phenomenal talent! I also deeply enjoy your general writing style, and wish to hopefully write more character focused narration and descriptions like you have in my own fic in the future. You put such a strong tone into your writing, and you really commit to that tone the whole way through in all of your word choices and sentence structuring, and that’s just so clever and wonderful to experience as a reader. The way you write also conveys powerful emotion that blends with your descriptions in such a way that I feel as though I am in a movie theater and on the edge of my seat. For example, when Ango’s nose was bleeding and he flips through the pages and has that moment where he notices the blood and starts to panic my gosh, I felt nervous, it was so real and powerful.
I will be revisiting your fic soon, in student mode instead of fan mode to see what I can learn from it because it’s just so good!
We don’t talk much, but I can see that you are a kind and friendly person, and I would like to wish you the very best day ever! I hope you eat all your favorite foods and do all your favorite things and smile a whole bunch because you deserve it!
You’re a lovely person and I’m wishing you the most lovely day!
💌💌💌
Qav has very quickly become one of my best friends ever since I met her. She seems to always be so bubbly and bright and fun-loving, and to boot, she is incredibly intelligent and one of my favorite things is just to listen to her ramble about something like stats! Even if I don’t understand them at all, it’s still fun learning new things and she does a great job at explaining when I have a question! She’s also a great writer which is like, double bonus points because she’s so talented and her writing is so raw and beautiful; I feel like she has a great grasp on all of the characters she writes for. This reveals who I am, but getting to go to the zoo together was the best day of my summer last year, and I’m very glad we got to do it and I hope we have the opportunity to hang out again soon! Happy valentines day! <3
💌💌💌
Qav!!! you’re such an amazing person and every interaction with you just makes me think so much. you’re extremely smart and patient and such a good explainer, not to mention clearly talented and a wonderful person besides.
and you’re such a good writer!! holy shit. I read your fic and I really could feel every emotion alongside Ango, and it hurt so well. your character’s motives felt real and immediate in a way that’s hard to describe, almost as if they’d taken up residence in my head and were now showing me exactly what it was like to be them, which takes great skill to do as a writer. you make it seem effortless. thank you so much for being around and talking to me!! I appreciate it.

______________________
Humming softly to herself, Famke let the notes of a familiar hymn vibrate from her throat. It was beautiful outside, the columned halls of the Askran castle weaved shadows within the sunlight, looping darkness onto the hall's floor.
She was out for her usual walk, taking a different route than normal, curious about just how many different sights within the castle she had yet to see. Sighing blissfully to herself, her soothing moment in time quickly morphed into a vexing one now that she realized she had no clue where she was.
Her footsteps halted and she looked around, out of habit, she pulled her cloak a little closer around her. This time, she sighed in exasperation, wondering how she always managed to get herself into this kind of situation.
She had only a moments self pity before a footstep from behind made her jump.
"..Lukas…!"
The burgundy haired man stood quietly, his brow turned down just a fraction, looking just mildly peeved. He waited for the snow haired girl to recover from the fright, she'd thought him an enemy!
Lukas often told her to stay close to him, reminding her that as the summoner, she was likely always on the mind of anyone who raised their arms against the Order of Heroes. So, for a moment, she thought she might have finally met a danger like that.
But rather than berate him over taking a good couple years off her life, she lit up with a smile and clasped her hands together.
"Lukas…" She said his name like she had found her savior, "I'm glad you're here!"
Lukas's brow uncreased and he huffed a small fond smile,
"Got lost again, did you?"
He had looked everywhere for Famke, it was not often that the two of them were ever apart but Lukas felt uneasy when she was not within sight. He was not someone that was easily annoyed but he had been when he saw that she was wandering around all alone, he'd told her time and time again to simply ask him to accompany her.
But she was a kind and considerate creature, she'd never want to impose on him. Qualities he always appreciated in her, but also qualities that had him fretting over her to the point Gray and Tobin had begun poking fun at him for.
He couldn't stay mad at her, she was good willed and that smile melted away his turmoil.
She smiled sheepishly at him,
"Umm..maybe?..Just a little."
Though he was not upset with her any longer, he still had things to say.
"Famke."
She laughed nervously, she knew she was in a spot of trouble with him again.
"Please be careful. Everyone depends on you, I..we need you safe. Had I been someone more sinister..." He trailed off, the implication clear.
Sighing, she nodded, feeling like a scolded child. In her effort to avoid bothering anyone, she'd caused someone to worry. Lukas of all people as well. Famke always treasured Lukas, he shared in her quiet nature and enjoyed the same walks she did, he often joined her in them.
When he did speak, she was attentive, something Lukas found soothing, she listened to every word, taking in his every thought down to the syllable as though everything he said was incredibly important to her.
They enjoyed each other's company.
Taking in the slightly drooping shoulders of the white haired maiden, she looked like a puppy.
And he found that he did not like her having a troubled expression, he preferred to see her smiling softly, or to see the bright light in her eyes when they would sneak away and admire the views Askr had to offer.
He felt a small churn in his stomach at the mild frown on her features,
"Let's go together."
She seemed to perk up a little, like a flower who found the sun,
"Go...where?" She questioned, tilting her head a bit in curiosity.
"Anywhere. Wherever you want to go, I'll stay by your side."
Famke stared at him, a little caught off guard. It'd be easy to misconstrue his words. She felt a little warm, hot even, and her heart felt a little strange.
"Uhmm...O-okay..!" She stammered over her words, trying to figure out why exactly she was suddenly incapable of eloquent speech.
Lukas watched her expression with interest, he'd have her stop to drink some water, she looked as though she was overheating. He felt the need to protect her again, already registering any and all symptoms of what might be fever.
She had always been frail, since he arrived in Askr, and he imagined before it as well. He came from a world where the weak do not live long, he wanted Famke safe, safe and happy, the fact that she seemed to be as fragile as glass always troubled him.
He had to stay with her. Needed to stay with her.
Lukas shook his head, he'd never felt so strongly over something, it wasn't like him, it was strange and unfamiliar.
He pondered over why he reacted so strongly to any trifles she might have as he extended his hand to her.
"...Shall we go?"
Another wave of heat flooded Famke's pale skin, as she took his hand, Famke wondered whether she had eaten something bad for breakfast.
_____________________________
To the disappointment of both of them, they had only been able to walk but a few steps before a messenger arrived to gather all troops and units able to fight, along with a summons for Famke to head to the war room.
There, she had learned of strange movements in Embla's troops, they had been stationed in place previously but now, they appeared to be shifting an intermingling much more than they had before.
Immediately, Commander Anna had declared a scouting mission was in order, they could not risk Embla launching an assault with them unprepared.
A small group of heroes were gathered, many of them ninjas and thieves, those much more capable of stealth. In addition to them, the Askr trio was also to attend. All other units, flyers, infantry soldiers that did not delve into stealth, armored units, and cavaliers were to remain behind and await orders if anything were to happen.
Lukas was included in that bunch.
Or at least...he was supposed to be.
But the moment the rest of the army was told to prepare for any impending combat, he went straight to Anna and requested to be assigned to the group going on the scouting mission.
Anna had questioned him, asking why. When he glanced back at Famke, who was directing buzzing heroes, Anna had followed his gaze.
Before Lukas could even say anything, she let out an "Ahhh...I get it." and okay-ed his request before moving on to help preparations.
At that time, he didn't know what it was she had realized or "got" but it got him in the same flank as Famke so it didn't matter.
Once everyone was ready, the scout group was sent out, leaving behind anxious heroes wondering whether they'd be raising their weapons soon.
As of now, Famke's group was quietly making their way through a forested area, trying to get close enough to see what Emblian troops were doing.
Lukas walked by her side, hand on his lance in case he needed use of it. He wanted to ask her how she was doing. Normally, they kept her a fair distance from their enemies but they needed her expertise on stats and her ability in strategy to discern the intentions behind Embla's worrying movements.
With their mission requiring them to remain hidden, Lukas wasn't allowed the privilege of holding a conversation with the venerated summoner. Still, he found her presence calming, and she in turn found his to be the same.
He remained impassive and calm, and it gave everyone a boost in confidence, like they'd be in good hands with him near. He could be rather strict in his professionalism at times, and most expected it to cause a bit of tension between him and his comrades but when he seems to fret over the resident summoner, everyone's worries dissipate.
Anyone who worried over Famke was trustable.
The group's footsteps came to a halt as all the ninjas and thieves in the group raised their hands in a signal to immediately remain still.
A moment of eerie silence followed suit, nobody breathed, and everyone was tense. Lukas gripped his lance a little tighter. It was too quiet.
His other hand grabbed a hold of Famke's wrist, pulling her closer to him. She let him, letting her eyes scan their surroundings, but not daring to move her head lest she make the slightest noise.
All at once, a resounding boom erupted into the air,
"IT'S AN AMBUSH! GET DOWN!"
Famke felt a hard tug pull her into a dive, she was wrapped in someone's arms as they hit the ground, but she had no time to recollect herself as she was once again dragged up and forced to run.
Smoke, dust, and dirt filled the air, Famke coughed and had her eyes shut tight, they were burning, she was trusting whoever was guiding her by the wrist to lead her the right way.
She could hear several other people struggling with the air's heaviness as well but their voices were getting farther and farther away the more she ran. The hand that held her wrist squeezed, almost reassuringly, but its owner did not slow down their pace.
"FIRE THE SIGNAL! MOVE! MOVE!"
She heard the order from a distance. It'd be foolish to remain and fight. They were knee deep in Emblian territory, and their troops were nearby, Famke could hear the pounding of footsteps and horses neighing from far away. The Emblian troops were mobilizing, they had planned this.
Famke lost her footing on the uneven ground, the person pulling her ahead was moving so fast for her to recover and she fell to her knees. She cracked her eyes open, eyes still stinging from the smoke, and she saw a burgundy figure kneeling down in front of her.
"Famke, forgive me." Lukas, it was Lukas, she recognized that voice. The same voice that she listened to so intently when they were alone.
"Can you stand?"
Despite their hurry and dire situation, Lukas felt a pang at seeing her knees scraped, he detested seeing her hurt.
"Yes, I'm fine, let's hurry!"
She reassured him, let him pull her up and back into a run. Adrenaline was keeping her from feeling anything other than blood trickling down her leg, they needed to escape, and they needed to do it fast.
Famke was panting heavily after a little more running, her body's frailty was presenting itself at the worst possible time. Lukas glanced at her as he pulled them through thickets and bush, Famke could see his face was scratched from the branches they had passed through.
As his eyes scanned her, his chest constricted. She was trying her hardest to keep going, cold sweat was plastering snow white hair to her skin, and her icy blue hued eyes were filled with tears, struggling to stay open with debris flying through the air.
His own eyes were aching but he would rather he'd hurt than her. Her body wouldn't last much longer, she wasn't built for violence and survival, this wasn't the place for someone like her.
She shouldn't be thrown unfairly into battles and danger of a world that was not hers.
Lukas stopped abruptly, Famke, who wasn't expecting this, fell forward. But she didn't feel the ground marring her skin this time.
Lukas had gathered her up in his arms, looking her over once before continuing to move forward, they couldn't afford to stop for long.
"Lukas..!..I can run, I can-" She was cut off by her own gasp for air, her lungs were burning and her legs were starting to feel the ache that adrenaline had kept away.
"No, you can't. I'll get us back. But.." He looked down at her, giving her a small smile, one he hoped was comforting.
"..If I have to fight, I want you to run home and leave me behind."
Famke's eyes widened in stunned silence, the idea of abandoning him...her heart crumpled in her chest.
Lukas tore his gaze away from her, he knew she wouldn't like the idea, she was too kind. But if push came to shove, she was his first priority. It's not that he wasn't confident in his ability to defend himself and her, but the risk of Embla's troops catching up to them amidst his fight was too high a stake.
He knew. He knew how much that Veronica wanted Famke's head on a platter, and he refused to allow her to be captured by someone who wanted her dead.
No. Absolutely not.
Famke herself was still dealing with teary eyes, though now they were for an entirely different reason.
She had never felt so useless.
She was helpless as she looked up at Lukas, who was panting hard but willing his body forward, intent on getting them both to safety. He was willing to be left in enemy territory if it ensured her survival but her heart protested the idea with a fury.
Her chest ached heavily, she couldn't, she could never.
For once, she wouldn't listen to what Lukas told her.
They made it quite a distance, but when a searing pain ripped its way up Lukas's leg, he was forced to pull into a clearing and pause their progress.
He kept both of them hidden among the trees and bushes that surrounded the clearing. Having set Famke down, he once again looked her over for any damage, kneeling to look at her scraped knees.
"Lukas, please. You don't have to carry me anymore, please please worry about yourself, you're hurt, you're-"
Lukas cut her off,
"Famke." He held her gaze, "If you and I were in different places..what would you do?"
She maintained his gaze but choked on a sob. She knew how he felt. The feeling of wanting to keep someone precious to you safe no matter the cost...she shared it.
If she were in his place, she would have given her life to keep him safe without hesitation.
Lukas reached out to cup her face in his hands. He couldn't help but be reminded that she was not meant to be here. She should be home.
Home making tea and humming those hymns he liked to hear come from her throat.
Home where it was warm and safe. Home, where she'd be warm and safe.
He wiped away tears with his thumb, he hated to see her cry, but just this once, he found it soothing. Her tears were for him, she was just as distraught as he'd be if he ever had to leave her behind.
She was too kind for her own good, she should be a little greedy. Greedy enough to grab her chance at survival. But he knew her better than anyone, she'd sooner die with him than to go without him.
Looking at her bleary, tired, and spent expression, he wondered if it was wrong of him to think her beautiful. Among all the fighting, she still seemed like a flower.
Beautiful, but so easily trampled...fragile.
For a moment, what said Commander Anna flashed in his mind.
"Ahhh...I get it."
Kneeling there, devoted to the survival of another, willing to do anything to ensure they'd  live another day, even if it cost him never seeing another himself….he thinks he understands what Commander Anna saw.
Tucking her hair behind her ear, Lukas leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
"Famke. When we return…I have something to tell you."
Before she could ask what it was, Lukas heard the distinct sound of footsteps. Looking in the sounds direction, he moved away from Famke and gripped his lance.
Famke remained quiet, they both didn't know if they had been revealed.
They watched as a soldier emerged into the clearing, from the purposeful steps that the soldier took, they knew they had been spotted.
They had stayed too long.
Lukas stepped out of the shadows of trees before the soldier could come any closer to Famke, his expression was cold but his eyes said he did not intend to be on the losing end of this impending duel.
Famke stayed hidden, she knew better than to become a liability in a fight.
But the soldier was not alone.
From behind him, others appeared, cavaliers, swordsmen, mages...the troops had caught up, they hadn't run far enough.
Lukas looked at all of them, and then poised his lance in preparation.
Famke came out of hiding,
"Lukas! No! You can't take on this many, stand down! You'll be killed!"
He didn't listen, watching for the first person to attack.
"Go, Famke."
But Famke shook her head, if they had been in different places, she would do the same as him. But she also knew that if Lukas were in her shoes, he would never turn away and spring to safety.
She stepped forward into the clearing.
She was frail and she was fragile, but she knew the power of her station.
"I am Famke," She called out,
"Famke, get back!"
She ignored Lukas.
"I am the summoner. I am the one Princess Veronica wants dead. I'm the only one you need. He goes."
Lukas felt a chill run down his back, Famke was offering herself as a bargaining chip.
The Emblian soldiers began closing in.
"Get. Back." Lukas's expression was dark, like he had every intention to stab his lance through everyone in this field.
Famke stepped up next to him and placed her hand on his shoulder, he looked at her.
"Lukas...please."
She gave him a sorrowful smile,
"No, Famke. They'll kill you, if you go with them, you're as good as dead." He reasoned, he could not allow for her to go.
But she was not deterred.
"And both of us die if you stay and fight."
The Emblian soldiers didn't move from where they stood, Famke glanced at them for a moment. They stood quietly, some of them looked away and at the ground.
Famke smiled, they were just people. People fighting for their ruler, humans who still held sympathy. They didn't move forward out of respect for a man who didn't want to let go and a woman who would offer herself for the other to go free.
It seemed as though they wanted to give them the small privilege of a goodbye.
The gesture brought her to tears.
"Lukas." Her throat hurt, "Thank you."
She stepped past him, but he caught her wrist.
For once, Lukas looked like he was going to lose everything, his expression was almost pleading.
Don't go.
Famke swallowed thickly,
"Lukas...I lo-"
Interrupted by the sound of trudging footsteps and galloping horses, everyone looked to the direction of the noise.
Golds, Blues, and Whites melded together in a flurry, lances and swords were raised as a war cry rang out from soldiers wielding them, the Order of Heroes.
All at once the Emblian soldiers moved to meet the weapons of Askr with their own, abandoning the capture of the summoner.
Commander Anna found her way to them,
"Sorry for the wait!" She smiled, before her expression turned serious,
"Now go! Both of you! That's an order!"
_______________
Famke rubbed at her eyes and yawned from where she laid, her vision was blurry.
She blinked repeatedly, trying to adjust.
As her eyesight cleared, she remembered where she was.
A tent. A cleric's tent to be precise.
After Commander Anna's almost suspicious perfect timing, Lukas and her had run the final stretch into Askr territory, where healers awaited.
Exhausted, the soothing nature of healer magic must have put her to sleep. She tried to sit up but her body protested and she cringed at the soreness she felt.
She heard the tent flap open and she looked up,
"Famke-"
Lukas. He had a tray in his hands
"You're supposed to be sleeping-" He set the tray down on a small stool sized table, he moved to sit next to the makeshift bed she sat in. He put his hands on her shoulders and tried to gently push her back down.
But she was having none of it,
"Lukas-" She looked him over, "Are you alright? Are you hurt? Are you okay?"
Lukas felt the corners of his lips turn up, leave it to Famke to wake up and worry over someone else. Kind and considerate popped into his head again, he wondered if she ever put herself first.
She never changes, it's that same nature that has her working herself to the bone on the regular. She's frailer than him, considerably so, when she was finally allowed a moment to rest, her body went straight into sleep recovery mode.
When she had fallen asleep during healing, Lukas, who was still full of adrenaline, had grabbed the healer's collar and shook the poor cleric demanding to know what they had done to her. He was defensive, as though they were still in enemy territory.
When she rolled over, Lukas had abandoned the cleric shake down in favor of looking her over. He had listened to her soft breathing for a moment before sighing, she was fine.
She's fine, she's just sleeping.
He had only managed out a "My apologies-" before the healer scrambled out of the tent, leaving Lukas at a little bit of a loss. Whenever it came to Famke, it seemed that restraint and professionalism just went straight out the window.
Most of the army knew about his protectiveness but they also wondered if Lukas knew why he reacted so strongly.
"Do you ever worry about yourself?" He asked with a laugh, though he probably already knew the answer to that question.
Famke stared at him, wondering how someone can still look so handsome after that entire ordeal.
"Well...I can ask you the same thing, can't I? I bet you haven't even had your wounds taken care of yet!"
He looked away sheepishly and Famke knew she had been correct.
"What of the others? Is everyone safe? What was that sound we heard in those woods?"
Lukas humored her, amused that she had gone right back to fretting over everyone but herself.
"A cannon. They shot a cannon into the woods. It seems they were aware of our location well before we even neared their camps. Everyone was able to jump out of the way in time, the cannonball hit nothing but a tree."
Famke frowned,
"A cannon? A cannon?? They shot a cannon into the woods???...Oh...that poor tree…"
Lukas laughed, Famke's compassion extended to even vegetation. A serene smile graced his lips, and he moved to sit on the bed rather than next to it. The bed sank little with his weight but he was able to sit beside Famke just fine.
Famke looked up at him, curious as to why he got closer. But before she could voice any question, she felt the side of her face being cupped. Lips pressed a kiss to her forehead, and she was reminded of that moment in the woods.
"Famke."
Leaning down, Lukas rested his forehead against hers. She whispered his name questioningly, watching with wide eyes as Lukas's gaze drifted down her lips.
"I'm glad you're safe."
His breath ghosted over her lips, and he allowed her a moment to push him away.
But she didn't.
So he leaned in and closed the space between them, the hand that tenderly caressed her face moving to brush back strands of white.
Melding their lips together, Lukas noted the tentative way his kiss was returned.
It was warm, and heat crawled up both of their necks. The sound of soft inexperienced kisses being exchanged only brought tinges of red to the summoner's ears.
Despite their reluctance, they had to pull away for air. Lukas once again leaned to rest his forehead against hers, locking eyes with her, he smiled.
"I love you."
Famke swallowed, and she felt a laugh bubble in her chest. Reaching up, she cupped the side of Lukas's face, mirroring him.
"..Most people say that before they…"
She trailed off as the realization of what they'd done, fully settled in. Suddenly, she felt shy, and the burning on her cheeks seemed to get a little stronger. Lukas committed the sight to memory.
"Do they?" He muttered against her lips.
He knew how she felt, he had grown to know her like the back of his hands. His feelings were reciprocated. But he still wanted to hear it.
He pressed another kiss to her lips, he almost felt guilty, he should be letting her sleep.
"..I love you, Lu-"
He cut her off, his name being drowned out by his lips, eager after hearing those words said by a voice he loved.
His heart was stammering in his chest, and it felt unfamiliar. He wasn't used to feeling so strongly about anything or anyone, but here he is.
Wrapping an arm around her waist, he pulled her closer to him, enjoying the way her hand came to rest on his neck.
"Augh, hey love birds! More sleeping less smooching!"
Startled, they both pulled away to find Commander Anna with her hands on her hips.
"I'm glad to see you're doing well but I gave you plenty of time together during the mission." She tapped her foot, "I better see a speedy recovery to full health before you two get at it."
Famke covered her face with her hands, how embarrassing…
"Lukas!"
Lukas perked, "Yes?"
Anna glared at him for a moment, analyzing him before letting a smile grace her lips,
"Take care of her, okay? That's an order!"
Then she slammed a fist into her palm,
"Failure to follow directions will be punished appropriately."
Famke's eyes shone with delight, Anna…
"I would do no less."
Lukas sounded resolute, like what Anna had ordered was a given to begin with.
Anna left the tent, but not before shooting the pair a thumbs up and a wink.
"Well...You heard the Commander, I have to stay with you forever."
Famke laughed lightly,
"Is that what she said? That sounds a little different."
Lukas threaded their hands together,
"Makes no difference to me," He smiled, raising one of Famke's hands to his lips.
"There's no place I'd rather be."
