im sorry but whose fault is that arya is seeing by the fandom as a kid? i've read fics about arya written by arya stans and its always the same: arya being ugly (being seen as ugly even by her own love interest, her own love interest admits sansa is more beautiful than her, etc) which its a lie because arya is beautiful in the books, she was just a child at the start of the series. i have read arya being an infuriating smart ass, arya being a wild thing who insults everyone and hates other women and hates to wear dresses and is always dirty or mean. i stopped reading fics about her to read fics about sansa even if i dont give a shit about her bc sometimes her fics are more mature, idc if she never meets jon in the books, the writers do a really good job portraying jon being in love with her and thats all i care and want to read in a fic where they are the main pairing. that doesnt happen in jonrya fics and its sad bc they have so much evidence in the books.

Like what was your thought process here? Did you want me to argue with you on how jonrya fics are the best form of art (TM) and scream how wrong it is of you to find it lacking? lmao.

I personally find jonrya fics to be scrumptious. Even if in those fics the author chooses to say that yes, Arya is not the fairest of them all: even then. And do you know why is that? Because that is true. Arya is not the fairest maid in Westeros. Neither was Lyanna. But our frustration comes when your people has repeatedly tried to impress on a stupid theory that Arya is too ugly to be loved, too wild to be loved and therefore it is impossible for her and Lyanna to look alike. Lyanna was a wild beauty but Cersei is said to be much more beautiful than her. Dany with her Targaryen features is canonically one of the best looking woman in perhaps the whole Planetos. But both of these facts do not take away from either Arya or Lyanna. Do not pretend that you who has read their fics, perhaps even went about in their circles, don't know that they have the tendency to push the, "why would Jon look at Arya if Sansa is there". As if Jonrya hinges on Jon losing his heart over Arya's beauty.

And yes, you asked whose fault it is that Arya is seen as a kid? Well tell me then why whenever we discuss Arya's potential love interests, edit any love scene for jonrya or gendrya, write metas or smutty fics of an aged up Arya or generally fool around with any ship regarding Arya, why do we have people coming into our inboxes, calling us pedophiles for sexualizing an 11 year old. Why was there a shock over show!Arya initiating intimacy with Gendry because apparently to them Arya was a kid?

And yes you are right even within our circle, we have had certain Arya Stans who had on them a stronger impression of the fanon/show version of Arya than of the actual canon version of Arya, but lmao none of them villainize Arya the way jonsas do. None of them villainize Arya for being the wild thing she is, for wanting to live as she wants, for not falling in line with Sansa's ideals. And I think you too have missed the point of my earlier post.

Arya is not just pretty girl. I wasn't screaming about people's inability to see Arya as such (as much as it frustrates me that they cling to the label of horseface that her bullies gave to her). My post was about people thinking Arya needs to be a prettiest girl in the whole of Westeros to have romance storyline, because they can't see a rebellious woman, a woman who has refused to bind herself in the narrow constructs of society ever wanting a family of her own. Ever wanting a lover whom she desires.

Also yeah there is this constant tussle, almost an obsession among your preferred faction to put Sansa at the highest pedestal when it comes to beauty and us even mentioning that: hey Arya is pretty as well sets them off in hilarious ways..

also i think its kinda bittersweet that already from s2 ep 1 cai xukun is labeled as the most popular and hes already trying his best to fight for being known for his talent rather than just his popularity… similar to what he talked about in the final nine percent show….. hes been fighting this fight since 2016 wow

so yes im starting s2 HAHAHAHHA i cant believe winning s1 was basically meaningless bc all top 15 are recognized rather equally lol… and sad that wang guangyun isnt coming back??? or jinhyung? i was looking forward to seeing more guangyun tho :( does this mean i gotta watch tntb to see him again...?

Overall

WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS. I wish i could unhear the previously released songs so i could experience this album in its entirety. THAT WOULDVE BEEN AMAZING. also i really love their songwriting on this album bc it shows their maturity and i feel like this really is their most personal one yet. i think for me, it’s more like summer night vibes than day? and the night edition was like autumn night vibes? idk if that makes sense lmao but that’s how i hear it. also they said this was more like meet the vamps with all the guitars but… where? I mean I guess the songs are more focused on the instruments but still far from MTV. But at the same time, I’m not expecting it to be. I understand their need to grow and evolve as artists (i hope everyone does too).

That being said, I still think this is a very solid effort from the boys. I applaud them for being able to write songs that shows maturity and at the same time be able to pour out their emotions through it. Releasing a great album every year and touring all over the world is a great feat for a fairly young band like them so I respect that a whole lot. And maybe we’ll never go back to the MTV era but they are creating music they love, bringing out bops after bops, getting recognized for their hard work and honestly, I couldn’t be more prouder of them.

Tumblr is a disgusting bastardizaton on how the world is, and how people should act. Stop looking at the world from your narrow tube of ignorance and refusal to listen to anybodys opinions other than your own and people like-minded to you. Yall have tried so hard to be loving and accepting to everyone, that youve BECOME the oppressors, only accepting a narrow range of people into your sick cult, pampering and conditioning them to how you want them to be and then dropping them off on a street corner when they start forming problems and morality issues because of your teachings. It took me YEARS to unlearn the toxic shit that tumblr shoved down my throat, and i took as fact, due to me being so young, vunerable, and gullible.

The people on this website are absolutely horrible and theres a reason tumblr is considered one of the worst social media websites on the internet. The only reason im on here is because it provides a wide variety of art in all different mediums, and i like laughing at funny text posts.

TLDR: if youre a young teenager or under 13, please leave this website before its too late. sincerely, a teenager that turns into an adult 4 days from now and kind of knows what theyre talking about from the 5 years they spent on this site.

How to Win Over Your Bartender

What do you like to drink after a shift? Either a big glass of water or a few sips from the open root beers we always have on hand for making the Wiz Fizz cocktail at [my bar] Seamstress. I dont drink during work or afterwards, so I stick to something non-alcoholic.

What is the all-time best dive bar jukebox song? Anything besides Dont Stop Believin by Journey. Stop playing that song! There are so many better choices.

Name the cocktail that was the hardest one for you to master? Either the Ramos Gin Fizz or a Singapore Sling. A Ramos because you have to practice the technique to getting a stiff head (yeah, yeahthe term is a bit crude) for the top of the cocktail and after years of working with different people, I finally have a surefire routine. And the Singapore Sling only because it has a million different ingredients and memorizing that took some effort.

What drink should be banished and why? Anything that is labeled girly or manly by a guest. Because drinks are not gendered and that terminology is toxic. The idea that the aesthetics of a cocktail dictate who can drink it is so antiquated. So, rather than banish a drink, lets banish those descriptions! All drinks have a purpose and Im never opposed to making any concoction for a guest.

Name the first good drink you ever drank and where you had it. Good is very subjective. I would argue that the $3 frozen Margaritas (that you could flavor anyway you wanted) at The Heights Bar & Grill in New York when I was in college were incredible at the time. Going back and drinking them now is quite a different experience and, perhaps, the nostalgia doesnt stand up over time. (I did it two years ago and trust me, they arent as great as I remember them to be). However, I would say that my first glass of Scotch with my friend Margy during my junior year in college was a defining moment for me. It showed me that there was more than just Gin & Sodas, French Martinis and Bay Breezes to imbibe at a bar. We were at a small bar at 108th Street and Broadway, wearing polo shirts and pearlsyes, laugh it up, I used to wear that combination religiouslydrinking glass after glass of Scotch. It was a defining moment in my maturity of bar going and to this day, I still thank her profusely for changing my life that night.

Ever appropriate to shake a Martini? Yup! When the guest asks for it to be shaken its 100 percent appropriate and necessary. Same goes for the Vesper. Damn you, Ian Fleming, for messing with the way we make cocktails. But hey, thats why James Bond was so cool, he always went against the norm.

What book on cocktails, spirits, or food is your go-to resource? I always like to revisit the classics, such as the Savoy Cocktail Book and Jerry Thomas manual. Im a huge proponent of The Flavor Bible when constructing new cocktails because its helps me connect different ingredient combinations that are less obvious. But I often just ask my friends Luis Hernandez, Rafael Reyes, Ezra Star, and chef JJ (Joseph Johnson), if I have ingredient related questions. They all have strong culinary backgrounds and are always open to answering any of my questions.

Ever appropriate for a customer to ask for more olives for a drink? You bet it is! You want more olives, just ask. Look, however you drink your Martini is your prerogative. I just want to ensure that its precisely the way you want it and that you enjoy every last sip. If you desire a whole side dish of olives for your drink, Im happy to provide that for you. All I ask is that you dont reach over our bar, place your hands into our garnish tray and grab them yourself. Bartenders are constantly washing their hands and use sanitized methods of getting garnishes onto drinks. Who knows where your hands have been and we would rather you not potentially contaminate our garnish tray for future cocktails needs. Just ask instead.

Do you ever drink cocktails with a meal? All the time. I love wine, beer, and cocktails with my meals. Sometimes a cocktail is the perfect drink to sip alongside a beautifully prepared dish. A Martini with a seafood appetizer course and a stirred brown spirit drink with a meat entree!

What drink are you most proud of creating? Ive crafted loads of drinks, but I would probably say that my No Say cocktail is one of my proudest creation. Having a drink on a cocktail menu for more than two-and-a-half years and it still be a top seller (and requested by many regulars) confirms that theres something on point with the flavor combination. The recipe features Ilegal Mezcal, which is a brand that gives a lot back to the bartending community in terms of health and wellness, and culture.

Whats your favorite shot-and-a-beer combination? I won a competition called Beer Baller, Shot Caller with the pairing of Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout and Dos Maderas 5+5 PX Rum. But I also love a dry hard cider with a side of Cognac (VSOP preferred) or a hard root beer with some rye.

What is the one tool that you always make sure to pack when youre traveling for business? A bar spoon tends to be in most of my bags.
