Harlow! One of my oldest OCs (that I still use today). I'd ramble more about him, but frankly his lore and backstory is still a mess and I need to organize and revise a lot of things still ^^;

Is there a limit on repeat first names/surnames? If so, is there any way we can get a list of names that people are planning on using from dev tasks etc to avoid doubles? Or will it be a first come first serve upon opening?

hi anon, that’s a good question! there are limits on both. here’s the full gist from our guidelines:

we do not allow duplicate surnames (outside of family members) or first names. duplicate nicknames are fine, however, but both members cannot be registered with the nickname. an example of that would be an alexander and alexandra. they can both be nicknamed alex, but they both can't be registered as alex. the duplicate first name rule counts with spelling (i.e. sarah and sara are the same in our books), so be mindful of that as well.

we will definitely be operating on a first registered basis when it comes to duplicates, but it’d be great if people would consider the names already put out there when deciding what to name their unnamed characters! please don’t actively steal someone’s name because, well, that just ain’t cool! i’ve thrown the lists of staff characters that will already be registered and the list of characters from the site buzz posts under the cut for your reference, and i’ll plan to update it as we go ♡
