Introducing the GoSun Grid - a Micro Grid that provides both Outdoor Fun and Resilience
GoSun is focused on building resilience and supporting outdoor enthusiasts, and for creating products that are good for the planet and good for you- And since GoSun has a registered CF offering, GoSun also provides a unique Green Investment Opportunity.
GoSun has created a micro-grid of self-reliance that integrates nearly 30 products designed to work in unison, or as stand alone portable energy solutions. These appliances that have been developed are some of  the most efficient appliances possible, so you only need a small amount of energy to get the job done in the first place. Indeed, a conventional oven needs up to 4000wh to cook a meal, the GoSun Fusion only needs 150wh.
Designed to maximize versatility and compatibility - and unlike many other offerings - the GoSun Grid is an open ecosystem. All of these energy efficient  appliances run on solar energy or 12 volts, the most common port in the world, and these products can continue to run even if the utility power grid goes down.
The following is an overview of the GoSun Grid and how each area can support self-reliance:
REFRIGERATION
GoSun’s top selling portable refrigerators, the Chill and Chillest, feature Tesla inspired, highly efficient brushless compressors, that only draw 40 peak watts of power when cooling is needed, and a lightweight lithium battery. Now there is never a need to buy ice again- and no more wet sandwiches. Both the Chill  and Chillest come with their own battery, providing around the clock power regardless of weather or location. The coolers have a reflective white top paint so the unit never heats up, and when used in combination with the optional Solar Table can essentially run continuously.
COOKING
GoSun’s most remarkable products are their patented vacuum-insulated solar ovens that make meals in any sunlight; even the clouds, plus they can continue to cook even after the sun sets, with the compact lithium battery. These solar ovens can reach temperatures of 550 degrees! From backpack to BBQ there are now small, medium and large; there is the Go, great for hiking, the very quick Sport, and the impressive 150 watt Fusion that can cook an entire meal for a family day or night.
WATER
Clean drinking water is critical, so the portable GoSun Flow Pro water filter device is capable of purifying from any water source, whether it’s a lake, stream, creek or even rainwater runoff. Thanks to an amazing micro USB powered pump, one doesn't have to do the work, or wait for gravity to drain the filter. With the push of a button one can have purified water, a kitchen sink and even a shower. Make that a hot shower with the Fusion in the Sun or drop the 130 watt Submersion Heater into the vacuum tube.
BREWING
GoSun wants to keep everyone energized out there, so there is now an all-in-one coffee brewing travel mug and French press, called theBrew. The brew can run off any 12 volt battery-including your car, boat, RV or the GoSun portable power pack. Add up to 14 ounces of water, plug in the 130 watt heater, then add coffee or tea and your fresh, hot beverage is made anywhere you’re going.
LIGHTING
GoSun doesn’t want the darkness of night time to slow you down, so GoSun makes a range of lighting solutions to guide your way whether camping, working, or when the lights go out. TheSolar Lampweighing only 6 ounces can light for 6 hours with just one day’s worth of sunlight.  It also can provide up to 50 lumens of light.
HEATING
Staying warm without a fire can be difficult, so GoSun developed a completely portable heated blanket to get comfy while you work, play, or rest, or if the power ever goes out. Use as a cover, a heated seat, or just on your couch. This battery powered, solar rechargeable blanket is also great for taking to those cold football  games.
COOLING
With all this fun in the sun, things can heat up and when they do, GoSun has a high power fan to push out the sweaty, dog days of summer, helping you stay cool indoors or out. The fan includes a highly energy efficient brushless motor, so it can run on 12 volts or solar yet still put out a powerful breeze.
POWER
Now it’s time to get into the power generation and storage devices.
Packed with energy and ports, these powerbanks run our technology when they aren't running directly on solar power. They come in a range of sizes depending on how long you're staying off-grid, and are named for the watt hours stored when fully charged. To re-charge the powerbanks, you can use AC power or 12 Volt. Now with these solargenerators, you can still have the power you need, without the noise, or pollution.
...and since we are GoSun, we make a wide range of lightweight and portable solarpanel solutions that also range in size to match your energy needs. Keeping the Go in GoSun, everything is designed for portability and durability to help you have more resilience and independence.  The foldable solar panels can charge your phone or other electronic devices wherever and whenever you need a boost.
So there you have it, Good Energy brought to you by GoSun.  Versatile, compatible and complete, we invite you to start building your GoSun Grid.  Check out all of the products of this micro grid atwww.gosun.co or look at becoming part of GoSun atstartengine.

Electric Heat Pump Water Heater
The SANCO2 heat pump is able to produce 16 to 23 GPH of 131- to 176-degree Fahrenheit water . Please enter your zip code and heating fuel type in the widget below to set your preferences. If dehumidification is not wanted in the winter, ductwork can be installed to vent cold exhaust air to the outdoors.
While I do expect less energy consumption in summer, it’s looks like my heater is still going to consume twice as much as Norman’s gen 4.
This mode controls the heater such that both the heat pump and the electric resistance elements can operate simultaneously.
A water softener system will not affect the longevity or operation of a Hubbell cement lined water heater tank.
My choice would be RUUD since they tend to build dependable water heaters and are the oldest water heater manufacturer in the US, in fact they invented the modern day water heater we’ve been using for the last 140 years.
In the winter up North you could use the outside as the refrigerator for "free cooling".
The Hubbell cement lined tank is suitable for storing water up to 194°F. However, it should be noted that your water heater will likely require optional control accessories to achieve this temperature, but there is no concern regarding the ability of the lining to withstand this temperature. Additionally, there are numerous safety concerns that must be considered when storing water at elevated temperature, please consult factory. This mode prevents the heater from heating as a way to improve efficency during long periods of no usage (i.e. vacation). In this mode the only time the heater will heat is if the unit is in danger of freezing. The user sets the number of days to be in vacation mode , and the unit resumes its previous mode of operation at the end of this period. Due to the unique properties of CO2, the SANCO2 operates very efficiently in a wide range of temperatures. It is able to extract heat from the air all the way down to -20°F and beyond in a single heating stage, raising the water temp to 150°F at .3 gallons/minute. The result is a system that requires radically less electricity to heat water when compared to conventional hot water systems and works without a backup coil in a very wide range of climates. By pulling heat from the surrounding air, heat pump water heaters also provide dehumidification to the area in which they are located. A heat pump water heater is a highly efficient alternative to a traditional electric resistance storage water heater. You should be able to find a fuel cost comparison calculator online and figure out which makes more sense on a cost-per-delivered-Btu basis. Water Pumps
Tumblr media
At $0.10 per kWh, I would have saved about $150 per year on water heating. With a simple payback of about 10 years in this case, it wouldn’t be hard to justify this purchase for economic reasons, assuming a 15 or 20 year lifetime and minimal maintenance costs. Unlike other types of water heaters, you shouldn’t install an HPWH in a small closed closet because it wouldn’t have enough warm air to power the heat pump. Most manufacturers recommend a space that’s at least 100 square feet. As we mentioned above, there are also a lot of rebate opportunities when you buy a heat pump water heater.
Volt Heat Pump Water Heaters Hit The Market & Make Gas Replacements Even Easier
Since people can’t see these, unlike EVs and solar roofs, it’s hard to know who else has one, how “normal” they are, and if your friends and neighbors are buying them. People don't talk much about their water heaters, so it's hard to learn about them. There is a surprising amount of water heater inertia in our area -- we are clinging to old-style heaters. Mid-peninsula residents have been quick to adopt all kinds of clean tech, like EVs, solar panels, smart thermostats, LED lights, and more. In all situations, it is recommended that HPWH units are not located in closets because they remove heat and some moisture during operation. This makes this style less ideal from an energy standpoint in a heat-dominant setting . HPWH are well-suited to warm climates such as Austin, Texas, where they can contribute to cooling.
Your Guide To Heat Pump Water Heaters For Your Home
It would be ideal if you considered rewiring the device to the fuse box while installing this model. A.O. Smith Signature Premier Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater has dominated the hybrid water heater market for nearly a century. Its sleek and narrow structure is considered one of the best space-saving models by many homeowners. With an Arctic Heat Pump water heater that energy is pumped from outside the house to and indoor buffer storage tank. This is where the cost saving comes from as the outdoor energy it “pumps” is free. However, if we place a heat pump indoors to transfer the indoor energy to the water tank this energy is not free as we have already paid to create it in the winter time via our furnace or boiler. So, these standalone heat pump water heaters are simply moving paid energy from the basement room to the water tank with $0 cost savings. In practice, the maximum pressure is also limited to the safe pressure of the pressure vessel. Like most aspects of Stirling engine design, optimization is multivariate, and often has conflicting requirements. A difficulty of pressurization is that while it improves the power, the heat required increases proportionately to the increased power. This heat transfer is made increasingly difficult with pressurization since increased pressure also demands increased thicknesses of the walls of the engine, which, in turn, increase the resistance to heat transfer. Lastly, rising water heating installations for buildings and public are expected to create lucrative growth opportunities for the market. Increasing hot water consumption across restaurants, hotels, and healthcare is expected to boost the market growth. The following segmentation is offered so that businesses can tailor their marketing approaches to each segment and locate the most promising consumer base for their products and services. Tier analysis and market concentration of important players in the Heat Pump Water Heater market, as well as a study of their market presence by region and product portfolio, are all covered in detail in this article. You see, the recovery rate of a water heater is based on its BTU input. BTU measures the amount of energy needed to heat one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. However, if saving money is more important to you, a hybrid heat pump is probably the best choice.

Hi Archy, I was wondering if you know any ways to make your house more energy efficent? (don't know if that's the right word for it). Like solar panels and stuff? thanks x
Tumblr media
Here are some ways to make a house more energy efficient:
Make sure the house is properly insulated and that air leaks are minimized. Air leaks tend to happen around openings and plane connections (wall/roof, wall/floor, etc.).
Plant deciduous trees and shrubs in the west side of the house to minimize sun impact during the hottest months.
Upgrade or replace windows on old houses that might not be up to today’s energy standards. Also, check how well the perimeter of the windows are sealed.
Replace incandescent bulbs with fluorescent ones.
Install low flow water fixtures and check if the water heater is working properly.
Make sure all your appliances meet the Energy Star parameters.
Lower your thermostat and tune your AC system so it runs efficiently.
Install solar panels or other technologies that produce renewable energy according to your location.
