Hey, thanks for taking a look at my letter! You don’t have to use anything here but if you want inspiration or to know things that I like, here you go.

General Likes:

- Gen preferred over shippy stuff, and plot over fluff. (Can be very low-stakes plot, though.) Quick note on requested -punk AUs Beside the aesthetics and cool aspects, steampunk is a commentary on the exploitative machinations of imperialism. Biopunk is commentary on the bleak consequences of unethical and unchecked scientific and technological advancement. Cyberpunk is commentary on capitalism’s efforts to buy the world out from under us and where information technology enforces governmental control. Solarpunk is commentary on how to grow a brighter future for everyone instead of submitting to gloom. Clockworkpunk is often a commentary on the restrictiveness of social classes. They are dystopias created one way or another by governments, businesses, and/or religious orders. I like these dynamics in fic. If you choose to write one of these AUs, please keep this in mind, even if it is just in the background of your story.

Other Notes: You’ll observe that character death and animal death are not in my DNW’s. If the story needs a sacrifice, the story needs a sacrifice. (I’m mentioning this because some of my canons have death as a major thematic component, or have war-torn settings.) Please exercise your judgement here. Also if you want to use OCs in a major role, including POV, go ahead, just don’t have them warp the narrative so that they’re the most important person in the story whom the other characters all fawn over.

Exchange Specific Notes: Go wild with format, if you want. Play with Ao3 skins and coding. Tell the story out of order, or in snapshots. Add accompanying illustrations to one fic instead of writing a 10k ones. Write a fic or comic and include/link a playlist for it. For art, feel free to make some or all of it in-universe documents - manuscripts for non-modern canons, social media for modern ones, whatever tickles you.

Miraculous Ladybug

I’ve watched seasons 1-3, most of the extras and specials and am up to date with the all the major goings on in season 4.

- Identity reveal. How could I not request this? - Tom and Sabine “adopting” Adrien into the family. - Holiday at the seaside. Relaxing sun and surf. Too bad Hawkmoth has other ideas. - Field trip to the Gardens of Versailles or some other historical landmark. Hawkmoth really can’t let anybody have a nice day. - Role swap. Emilie Agreste is the main villain while Gabriel is the one comatose. Whether she holds the butterfly or peacock miraculous is your choice. How would this change the story and affect Adrien? - A Masquerade in canon or AU. - Nutcracker Ballet or Musical, caused by an Akuma or AU - Genre Shift AU - Gaslamp Fantasy. Steampunk. Solarpunk. Adrien: This poor boy, such a poster child of whump. Would love some hurt/comfort here. He needs hugs and a good cry. His conflicting devil-may-care Chat Noir vs Good boi Adrien personalities and both being him. Depression and self-doubt. Marinette: From behind the mask she can be so competent and that competence has slowly been slipping into her normal life, I would like to see more of that. Her friendliness and compassion.

Alya & Nino: Such sportive best friends, who will throw down for Marinette/Adrien but also tell them when they are being dumb. Honestly these too are such good peps. Love how their relationship (open and honest with each other) is in contrast to Marinette’s & Adrien’s.

Chloé: For a while it looked like we would see some Chloé redemption but ultimately the creators doubled down on smooth-brain, greedy and mean. I’d like to revisit that redemption. I don’t think Chloé will ever be good or nice but she could be better. Alternatively instead of becoming a better person she could become a better (ie more competent) bad person.

Gabriel: This guy… where to begin? He wants his wife back so his family can be whole again but is completely ok in throwing his son under the bus to do that. Explore his reasoning and relationship with Adrien. He’s petty, cold, opportunistic and scheming and somehow that all works with his character.

Fandom Specific DNW’s Character bashing. Marinette pinning after Adrien the entire time. Chloé being a B**** all the time. Chat Noir being sidelined unless plot important and resolved later in the story.

I really enjoy all the classmates and how Adrien and Marinette interact with them. So feel free to throw them in.

Mushishi

I’ve seen both seasons of the anime and have read most of the manga. I’m missing a couple volumes, but don’t worry about this. I will enjoy anything you give me.

Fandom Likes Worldbuilding. Write a mushishi episode. Make up a new mushi or OC. Revisit mushi and people we’ve already seen. Lingering effects of mushi, even after the mushi itself is gone. Natsume Yuujinchou

I have consumed all media, anime and manga, that is available in the U.S. at this time.

- A spirit or spirits from a different part of the world passing through: People travel, do spirits? Weather is global, do weather spirits drift in and out of areas? Humans move things around, does a cursed or possessed item end up in Natsume’s area? Did Reiko get the name of one such spirit and now it’s back to reclaim its name? - Traveling to a different part of the world and the spirits there: Vacation time! The Fujiwaras decide it's time for a break, where do they go? What do they see? - Tanuma’s Dad; he knows that Natsume is sensitive to spirits. I’d like to see a conversation between him and Natsume or Tanuma about it. - The Fujiwaras teaching Natsume to play Hanafuda. Latter something in theme with the game shows up. -Natsume and his friends play a casual game of baseball. The Dog’s Circle watch and later want to play their own game. - Natsume, the little fox spirit and a raccoon dog. What could go wrong? - Time Travel - Natsume meets Reiko. He can’t tell Reiko who he is for some reason. Does Reiko figure it out? - AU: Historical/Historical Fantasy. Angeal: Maintenance on the buster sword. Being good at reading people. Martyr complex. What does it mean to be a man, SOLDIER, human, monster, friend? Cooking & gardening, a domestic type. The conflict between his sense of justice and honor and navigating Shinra politics.

Kunsel: Stealth helping AVALANCHE. Reconnecting with Zack. Checking in on Aerith after Zack’s disappearance. Checking in on/maintaining the church garden after Aerith leaves Midgar. Joining up with AVALANCHE. Being a good/nosey friend/bro.

The dragons - read somewhere, can’t remember if in game or not that only kids can see the Dragons. However later it seems that the Ruto can see them just fine, so is it Hylains are the only ones to lose the ability or are the Ruto special? Or where the Ruto able to see Dinraal because their horns were glowing? At what age do people lose the ability? Can all the Champions see them or just Link? Does he ever lose the ability? The Koroks - same as the dragons, can anyone besides Link see them? What about the ones on Death Mountain? Does Link ever give them water or a fire proof elixir? Do they ever ask to be moved somewhere a little less hot? Or are they okay because they’re spirits? What happens if you plant a Korok seed? Did Reiko get the name of one such spirit and now it’s back to reclaim its name? Traveling to a different part of the world and the spirits there: Vacation time! The Fujiwaras decide it's time for a break, where do they go? What do they see?

Possible things to explore: Past fayth - I think the summons must have been whittled down over time to the number we see in game. Final Fantasy has a rich well of summon lore to draw on, show me who/what some of them would be in Spira. What makes someone become a fayth? What personal histories lead to that decision? What rituals of transformation do they undergo? What was summoning like in the Machina Era? What motivated Yunalesca and Zaon and Yu Yevon to do what they did? Past summoners - give me the canon High Summoners or some OCs and describe their pilgrimage. Crossover AU’s are fun here too - cast characters from one of your favorite properties as a summoner and their guardians. I don’t need to be familiar with the other canon to enjoy reading those. Besaid Island! Talk to me about the culture there, the underdog love for their perpetually losing blitzball team, their tradition of textile work, how Valefor’s presence influences the island. Does Zelda ever hit a growth spurt so she’s also large and in charge?
