(Thank you so much for all the kind words <3 I’m glad we can be friends. Irl I have a less than ideal personality for getting to know people (I’m an introvert, which is fine on its own because it just means I prefer spending time alone over hanging out with other people, but then I’m also shy, sensitive and lack any social skills whatsoever…)

As for that Reynolds Pamphlet animatic, here is where it gets embarrassing…like I might have mentioned before I’m pretty young and it hasn’t been that long since I actually got my own computer (or had access to one, really) so I’m still teaching myself how to do basic things like making llinks (I’m not very good yet OTL) I’m really sorry! (and really embarrassed I sound so stupid right now XD)

However, you can still find the animatic pretty easily. It’s by Captain Sealant and will pop up immediately if you search for it on Youtube :)

I can definitely see why you’d ship Maui and Moana! I was tempted to do it too a few times while watching the movie XD the only reason I don’t ship them in the end is that Maui was not intended to be a romantic interest for Moana in any way, and it kinda shows (if you study their interactions, I’m not sure about Moana but it’s pretty clear in some scenes that Maui sees Moana as a kid. A lovable kid who could be his new best friend, but still a kid. Or at least, that’s how it looked to me…I get that some people might have seen it differently).

(And it’s so rare for Disney leading ladies who are not children to have no hint of romance whatsoever in their movies (sure, Merida didn’t have a love interest but other than her relationship with her mother and trying to take control of her own life, the other main theme of her movie was her trying to escape an arranged marriage. Even in Frozen Anna ended up kissing a guy she just met, because if you think about the timeline she’d only known Kristoff for one or two days…). While I don’t mind other people shipping I personally don’t want to ship Moana with anyone because I felt she was just fine on her own…if this rambling makes any sense lol)

Btw, I thought of a Hamilton/Moana AU:

Angelica as Moana, Mulligan, Lafayette or Burr as Maui

(Ok I know Burr doesn’t seem like Maui but hear me out: I feel like he could work as a quieter version. Like, he’s definitely full of himself in a way, he just doesn’t choose to show it. And he craves to be recognized, just like Maui does, even if it’s much more selfish on Burr’s end)

I also have this idea that Eliza could be Te Fiti. Because she’s a queen, and because, well, Te Ka. So much potential for puns there with Burn…it would also give a whole new meaning to Maui apologizing to Te Fiti at the end, since Burr shot Eliza’s husband in the musical.

Another possible AU is fem!Hamilton as Moana. Just imagine Burr making a face like "Calm the eff down princess" “I’M NOT A PRINCESS, *hurricane of swear words in typical Hamilton style that cannot be written down* I’m the DAUGHTER OF A CHIEF” I could also see Burr throwing femHamilton off the canoe every time she started ranting.

“ADFSDFJKL I can’t BELIEVE you HOW could you leave my people to suffer like this HOW DARE YOu steal my boat WHY are you such a selfish bastard SAY SOMETHING YOU ******”

“Talk less, smile more. Talk less, smile more. Talk less…you know what, I don’t care anymore *tosses Hamilton into the sea*”

(And of course, last but NEVER least, King George the 3rd as Tamatoa)

Yup, I definitely understand you ^^;; I only have 3 or 4 people I truly hang out with, but I have tons of friends on the internet.  Introvert irl and extravert on the internet.

Yes, exactly! As far as I know, in the original legends, Maui is portrayed as a young, handsome man. I think that was intentionally made different, to avoid romanticising Moana and Maui’s relationship, since the whole movie’s about Moana finding out who she really is. 

You’re right there, and I’m really glad for that. Honestly, Merida was the first princess without a prince, but Moana is the first movie to truly not have anything to do with love/marriage. Merida is still my favourite Disney Princess. No regrets. I mostly love her because she does archery, just like me :3

THAT AU. GIVE ME THAT AU. But Maui!Burr actually makes a lot of sense, since Burr is pretty self-assured, but a lot more subtly. 

Oh Eliza as Te Fiti. I love it! Except the last part, since it made me cry. 

Burr throwing Alex off the boat is something I need. And it is too likely to happen. I now hear for fem!Alex’s safety. Please stay off boats for the next eternity.

Talk less is something Maui!Burr would probably chant day and night (HOW DO YOU WRITE) and just give up in the end. Poor Maui!Burr.
