Could you write serigos reaction to an mc that actually calls bullshit? Like right after chapter 7 they decide to get a new lawyer and find a different, more reliable set of buyers for the plantation? I'm sorry but it seriously annoys me how much the HTLAL mc passes off as normal 💀 Dr cook literally admits to serigo re-gifting MC DEAD GRANDMOTHERS JEWELLERY. COME ON. I wonder what Sergio would say tho? Whether or not mc wants to continue their relationship would probably affect it a lot. (I'm egg anon/dumb bitch anon btw)

Side note, it really really bothers me how mc marries him so quickly. Like yeah I get it, happily ever after and shit BUT THEY PUT RICO FERRER THERE???? Just ruined the ending other than the fact that serigo would kill us if we decided to confess 🗿

Sergio's route was clearly rushed, so certain decisions made no sense, and I have a whole post in my drafts ranting about it (Man really got one ending, when there could have been an easy "bad" ending where MC doesn't figure out that Sergio killed Abuela??). I would really like to rewrite his route because he deserves a lot more. And welcome egg anon/dumb bitch anon lol you're my first anon to have some sort of nickname

As your partner, Sergio can admire your ability to call it as you see it. The opposite could be argued because he's sneaky, but I think he would like a strong character that wouldn't be afraid to speak their mind.

He's secretive, so when you're constantly calling him out for things that don't make sense he's scrambling to keep his secret under wraps. You're keeping him on his feet, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing.

He's quick to notice that things go much easier if he's just honest with you. He wonders if honesty really means that much to you, but doesn't push the subject if you don't want to answer

He enjoyed watching you go after the Chief though lol because honestly that man is full of bullshit and he would gladly let you loose on him.

If you do decide to pursue a relationship with him, it would definitely happen much slower than it did in the actual story. It would take time to build up trust because of how secretive he was before, but at least there would be a solid foundation

Whenever you ask him a question you add "And cut the bullshit." Before he can even start to answer. It surprised him the first couple of times but he quickly got used to it

The only time he really found it to be an issue is when you got to questioning Cook, and finding out about their relationship. You'll have to have a long (and exhausting) talk with him. He can be a pain in the ass so it will require patience on both ends.

Speaking of him being a pain in the ass, sometimes he'll do it on purpose to grind your gears on subjects that really aren't that important lol

When you raise the idea of looking for different buyers because you didn't like your current options, he can't blame you. He might be hesitant at first (because of the nature of Ferrer's work really. He doesn't want you to get more involved than you have to) but he'll give in eventually

When it comes to getting a different lawyer is where he's a bit more worried. He'll respect your decision, of course, but he still cares for the plantation and what will become of it.

I mean, he knows doesn't have to be your lawyer to continue your relationship. There could be different times where he could help out, but if you want to keep him out of selling the plantation then okay. He knows he can't force you. (This isn't Sergio from Chava's route ok)

Yep, here it is. Uhm.. the future for last legacy isnt looking great. The arcana and fictif been such a big part of my life these past few years. I cant begin to think about how much of a loss this is for me right now. Now that FictIf and The Arcana have been bought out by Dorian, I feel the need to remind y'all as the only person who's spoken out about this but;

Heir To Love And Lies is an extremely racist story to its core.

The love inrerests are either harmful stereotypes or key players on the violence and corruption here in Colombia.

Even if Nathalie has a Colombian father, she has failed to accurately represent the country, the spanglish abhorrent and the treatment of rural Colombia is one of the worst I've seen.

The MC is a white saviour stereotype and is such an awful character whom barely cares about the town; especially when their decisions will affect the livelihoods of workers.

Chava and his whole family are a huge stereotype of low income workers and farmers in the perifery. Their relationship with the drug cartel was unnecessary and insulting— especially when Colombian people already struggle with discrimination about being poor coca and marijuana farmers.

Sergio is literally the epitome of everything wrong with Colombia and shouldn't be romantisized as a love interest— especially as he is related to an assasination which happen in Colombia on the daily .

Val is part of the most corrupt, homophobic and racist institutions and attempting to make her a love interest makes me want to barf as an lgbt Colombian. Especially when I receive news on the daily of lgbt people getting abused by police. I'm glad her route never got released.

The whole story glorifies the foreign colonization of Colombia's economy; which have affected our country gravely— even leaving entire regions of ours in extreme poverty.

'La Dama Roja' is such an awfully constructed character; both character design and story-wise. Her dress is mexican right out of the bat. Her whole character crumbles apart once you actually learn about Colombian politics and culture.

The whole story is a complete regression for Colombian representation and a slap on the face for me, and many other latino users whom have shared their concerns privately to me. It perpetrates so many harmful stereotypes and completely misunderstands the intricacies of Colombia and its people. It ignores our pleas for positive rep after being thrown and dragged through the mud as a druggie country for upwards of fourty years and refuses to acknowledge that Colombia is more than just drugs and coffee.

If you want 'good' Colombian representation, you are much better off watching Encanto in spite of its issues.

If you want Colombian rep that is more mature leaning I would recommend;

Los Viajes Del Viento for a culturally accurate depiction of the north of Colombia

Señorita María: La Falda De La Montaña for a documentary about being lgbtq+ trans in rural Colombia

Los Colores De La Montaña for a depiction of how the drug war has affected innocent farmers in rural Colombia

These are all critically acclaimed movies that all tackle living in the small towns that HTLAL is supposed to be based upon and do a much better job at it.

Also, I've said this many times but I think it's worth mentioning that if you want a more in-depth representation of all the issues HTLAL fails to tackle respectfully, y'all should read The Rebellion of The Rats by Fernando Soto Aparicio

♡ Your hyperactive personality makes for an interesting first impression - some get tired of it quickly, finding you too energetic to handle, while some find it amusing. Sergio is certainly in the latter of those categories when he sees for himself just how exuberant you can be - he finds it an endearing trait, really.

♡ Sergio had heard mention of your vivacious tendencies from your grandmother, who in the past often recalled just how overactive her little grandchild was. She had spoken so fondly of that energy, of the life you breathed into every moment, that it was impossible not to find himself at least somewhat intrigued as to what your first meeting in person would be like - you can only learn so much about a person over a phone after all. Even Chava had made a comment once about how hard you were to keep up with during the summers of your childhood spent on the plantation - always running off to find the next big adventure tugging the poor boy along with you all the way. It was as though nothing could slow you down or stop you, and Sergio makes a mental note to prepare himself for that potential factor before the day that you’ve even stepped off of the plane.

♡There’s a bit of a love hate relationship with just how much energy you have sometimes, especially when it comes to the events surrounding your grandmother’s death. It’s hard enough trying to keep a level head amongst death threats, twists, turns and constant lies, so adding in the fact that you refuse to sit still for even a second only serves to heighten the tension that’s already close to boiling over with each new revelation. Sergio himself isn’t going to stop you during these times, but boy oh boy is he stressed each time you try and take off in search of answers. Not only does it make keeping an eye on you even harder, but also means that making sure that you’re safe gets more difficult unless you’ve got someone by your side most of the time.

♡ For what it’s worth he tries to work around this by being with you as often as he can, whether that means following you as you race across the town square for the third time today or making sure you don’t get yourself arrested wandering where you shouldn’t. Sergio rather enjoys this actually since it gives him the opportunity to show off a little - giving you rides in expensive cars and pulling some strings to help you get into places that under normal circumstances would have been hard to pull off. (honestly it's like the desk he just really wants to impress you with these, it’s kind of sweet tbh)

♡ For as overactive as you are however, it makes the moments where things slow down all the more profound. Sergio is all for showing you how you can take the time to enjoy things and there’s no harm in taking things slowly, so it’s no surprise that he tries to convince you to just take a moment to relax and make the most of the finer things in life - after all you’re now the owner of a multi-million business, surely that deserves at least a little celebratory break every now and again. It isn’t easy to sway you into staying put for too long, but the times that he can coax you into indulging he likes to make the most of, whether that's by taking you out to restaurants he’s sure you’ll love or to any location in this vibrant Colombian town that you’ve expressed interest in. Sergio just wants to make your stay here as memorable as he can, even if it means peppering in some surprise trips here and there for a while.

♡ While he likes the peaceful quiet, the alternative is one he very much dreads. The times where a somberness settles over you as the weight of everything that’s happened creeps back in to weigh upon your shoulders. These times it’s like that weight itself is what slows you down, and the quiet that follows as you fall from boisterous to passive makes him uneasy as he wracks his mind for a way to comfort you or ease your fears - that’s easier said than done though, but he refuses to let that weight crush you if he has any say about it.

♡ On a lighter note, Sergio likes to think that he’s quite energetic himself, after all it’s not as easy to handle all those late nights working in the office as many would assume and he takes some pride in that. But amusingly enough even he has days where he can’t keep up with you. Some days it takes a strong cup of coffee or two before he’s even somewhat awake, meanwhile you’re already up and ready, eager to see what the day holds before he’s even gotten out of his bedclothes.

♡ Even as the weeks turn to months and the months turn to years very little seems to slow you down. And the more time passes the more endearing it gets, though he often wonders just where you get that overactive well of energy from. But he thinks that perhaps that’s a mystery he can live without finding the answer whenever he watches fondly as you skip ahead during the daily walks through the plantation, brimming with energy and contentment amongst the lush Colombian lands that you now call home.

♡ It becomes a fun game to come up with ploys to keep your attention, with some attempts requiring a little more creativity than others. One time Val had tried to keep you busy by letting you run around after uncle Sam, hoping to wear you down long enough to actually get you to sit through a few inquiries. Sergio was plenty amused to find out just how much that backfired when you came racing back into the house and promptly plopped the tuckered out pooch onto the sofa to lounge all over Val’s lap, seemingly more pumped than you had been when you’d first been given the task much to his amusement and Val’s chagrin.

Sergio tended to overthink when he was stressed. Though the workload he took on was decreased, some clients he dealt with absolutely refused to cooperate with him. Everything became a vicious cycle of overthinking and stress and it took a while for him to get out of it. Stepping away from his work and everything helped, especially when he was somewhere he felt at ease.

It was already late at night and he sat outside on the step. The air was cool, and he stared up at the sky. He never had much interest in constellations, but he might try to look into them. 

The door opened behind him and he looked over his shoulder, surprised to see you there. You were wrapped in a blanket, staring at him confused.

“Sorry,” he said, “Did I wake you up?”

You shook your head as you waddled over, your movement restricted in your blanket burrito. “No. I woke up after a weird dream about talking fish.” You replied. "And I noticed you were gone, so I came out looking for you."

“Talking fish? That sounds… interesting.”

You laughed, sitting next to him. “Are you cold?” You asked, “It's pretty chilly out here..”

He wasn't that cold, but he let you wrap part of your blanket around him anyway. “What are you doing out here anyway?” 

“I’ve been pretty restless lately. I hoped that maybe stepping outside for a while would help me relax.”

“You work too hard.” You lamented, “Maybe you could quit and just become my househusband.”

He laughed. “I couldn't do that. Then Chava would have nothing to do.” 

“That's true.” You sighed, “You would go crazy at home, and start bullying poor Chava.”

He scoffed, feigning offence, but it wore off when you bumped into him gently. 

"I'm just kidding." You said, leaning your head against his shoulder. You spoke to him a little more about your dream and he felt his stress melting away. Your presence seemed to do that to him, apparently even when you were telling him about talking fish.

Eventually, you trailed off, covering your mouth with the back of your hand when you yawned. He wrapped you back up in your blanket and stood up. "Let's go back in." He said, "We'll only get colder sitting out here."

"Oh, bummer. We'll just have to snuggle to warm up again." You said, grabbing him by the hand and happily walking back inside. He laughed, letting you drag him along, his stress long forgotten.

summery: The morning after your wedding is spent with quiet conversation about the future in an intimate moment.

The deep rumble of his humming woke you up first, then his thumb massaging circles into your thigh. He was warm against you, and you wiggled closer to him with a sleepy sigh, head ducking into the crook of his neck. You didn’t know what time it was but you could hear the birds chirping outside, the salty air made you smile more. It reminded you of home. The room was still completely dark, the blackout curtains did what they were supposed to do, you were grateful for that much. “‘S too early,” you mumbled, earning a soft laugh.

“Morning, cariño,” he pulled you even closer and you wrapped a leg around him, grinning happily. He was your husband now, and you, his wife. “Good morning, Mr. Jimenez,” you mumbled into his chest. He chuckled, a deep rumble in the back of his throat that made your toes curl. “Good morning, Mrs. Jimenez.” You leaned your head back enough to look at him and you grinned even harder. You got to wake up like this every morning for the rest of your life. Nothing seemed better than that.

“Can we just lay here like this for a while?” You layed your head back on your pillow and pouted up at him. He smiled and let his hands roam your body. The intimacy of the moment made you melt in his hands. “I’d like nothing more.” You grinned again and craned your neck to kiss him, which he returned happily. You rested your hands on his bare chest and closed your eyes again, just imagining the two of you sitting on your porch in rocking chairs, drinking coffee and watching the plantation light up with the sun.

“Do you think we’ll be like this in forty, fifty years?” You tapped your finger on his sternum and he looked down at you with a curious look. “What do you mean?”

“Will we still be us, when we’re eighty?” You looked up at him, you’d never seen him so peaceful. “Yea, I think we will. I definitely know I’ll still roll my eyes when you tell dirty jokes.” He laughed and you did too, you knew that that was never going to end. His laughter always seemed to make the tips of your ears burn red, even more so when you knew he was laughing because of you.

“Oh, my love, I know you’ll be even more beautiful when your grey, your glow even brighter, and you’ll still light up my world.” He smiled again and pressed a kiss to your forehead.

“And you’ll be just as handsome as ever,” you smiled and kissed his nose quickly, just a peck. He smiled again, full of love, and he tucked a strand of hair out of your face. “And mischievous,” you kissed the corner of his mouth. “And romantic,” your hand dragged further down and he shivered. “And you’ll be all mine.” Your hand rested on his pelvis and you grinned again.

“Such a tease,” he grumbled, but he still had that adoring look on his face. “I’m sure that won’t change either.” You shook your head and smiled innocently. Your other hand came up to cup his cheek and he leaned into it. The band of your ring was cold against his skin and he smiled. The two of you layed in bed for a while, just basking in each other, the love you two had for each other. Thoughts of long walks on the beach, breakfast, and the days outing forgotten for just a while in the quiet of the bedroom
