So We gave #AntonMataeo his #firsthaircut last night. He cried when he realized what we had done and wanted us to put it back. . It was time. I wanted the first cut to be on his own terms, he had warmed up to the idea, said yes but I am not sure he knew what that meant fully. . His hair had become a little to much to undertake with a rambunctious toddler. He was fighting me to wash or comb or brush and he would get knots that took forever to get out. But he had beautiful luscious Sandy brownish blonde hair and I wonder if the color will change and the texture. My cousins who had Honduran moms and German fathers hair were similar to Anton’s and theirs got darker over time. . A few weeks ago he asked me if he would still be #handsome if he got a haircut. I told him he’d be handsome with long or short, curly or wavy or straight. He said Okay Mommy. . @erikkluetz said it was sad mostly because of his reaction and he has been the biggest advocate for cutting it ever since strangers started mistaking him for a girl because of his long hair.
