-      It doesn’t change. He’s always open minded and happy-go-lucky.

Belated happy birthday

I messed up the dates for the All was Golden one-year anniversary because American dates confuse me.

I hadn’t thought this fic would go on as long as it did, the drafts are well over 100 k now and I’d never thought I’d have that many words to give, let alone for a single fic. But it has brought me so much joy that I kind of wish this fic would never come to and, but alas there will be one and writing that ending -if only the draft - was kind of bittersweet. Makes me wonder what’ll happen when it is finished. I’ll probably cry, lol.

‘Why do these OC-s-have so many backdtory-NOBODY cares Lys’ please? I’m really curious!

Alright, this is a collection of little one-shots from the perspectives of the different trainees (and some not trainees like Baybrook etc.). It dives more into their backgrounds, and fills out missing scenes that happened during, before, or after AWG. I only really work on it when a plot bunny gets too insistent because it's something I mainly write for me given these are all OC POV's and only loosely tied to the main story. This is a snippet in Arjun's POV and it's put right after the end of AWG before the beginning of TPBG.

"Shubhratri, Chotu," Aanya whispers. She gives him a short wave, turning the camera on her phone to show Maata and Pita, who both give him a quick wave and repeat the gentle greeting before the call ends. "Jun-jun, you okay?" Max asks when he returns to their bedroom. He's lying on his bunk bed, his feet kicked up in the air and Alec's surprise coat stretched out before him. He asks him the same question he always asks after Arjun got to speak with his family, the same question Barika and Leo ask him, and already Arjun can feel some of his sadness fade. "I'm okay," he promises, plopping down next to Max on the bed. "Can I go next?" he asks, gesturing to the coat on the bed. "Sure," Max says before he goes back to his project. He doesn't say anything for a little while, letting Arjun lay down with his face buried in the mattress while Max sews a familias rune into Alec's coat. It's comfortable, though Arjun can't help but think it would be better with Barika and Leo there. And Alec. And the rest of his family. "You know you can ask Alec to invite your family," Max speaks up after another few minutes of silence. "I'm sure he'll do that if you ask." Arjun turns his face to look at him, his cheek squished flat against the mattress, "Maata and Pita aren't institute heads." Max shrugs. "So? Seeing them will make you happy and Alec loves you so he wants you to be happy!" He drops his needle carelessly onto his bed, jumping off the mattress and dragging Arjun along with him before he covers the coat with his blanket. "Come on, let's go ask Alec. I promise he'll say yes!"

Saw a parent drawing with their two kids while walking the dog and they all looked so happy drawing together outside despite it being chilly. And somehow I feel that a family creating art together is art in and of itself.
