Twilight Au ft. Wenclair -
I've had this au in my head for ages so imagine,
Instead of Alice & Jasper existing it's Wednesday & Enid.
Wednesday takes on the 'Alice' role in a way, she is a seer, a 'Witch' who lived in Salem in 1692 who was persecuted for not only her visions but because of her 'creepy' family. She was turned by Marcus Volturi who saw alot of Didyme' s spirit in the young witch, and turned her but once turned Wednesday had a vision of her soft hearted mate and Marcus knowing his brothers wouldn't leave the new mates in peace he decided against bringing her to Italy and allowed her to go searching for her mate.
Which brings us to Enid, the only daughter of social climbers Esther and Murry Sinclair, to escape a loveless arranged marriage, Enid while being kidnapped by Pirates on her way to the new world (America) struck a deal with the Captain to join his crew and be bait for passing ships. By 1711 Enid is a well known pirate who is known by her intelligence, compassion and mercy to the people she robs. On one island that Enids crew docks on for alcohol and some quality time with women who loves bad boys and girls, Enid is seduced by a beautiful woman and turned. Her maker wants Enid to be ruthless and a murdering machine, not knowing Enid now has the power of being an empath. She can not kill humans while feeling their fear, so she steals a boat and goes to America, where the newborn former pirate meets Wednesday Addams who was waiting for her when she docks.
A few centuries go by, Wednesday helps Enid through her new born phase and they travel the world as nomads, until one vision shows the pair joining the cullen clan. Wednesday is hesitant, she's not a people person but knows how much Enid suffers drinking human blood and that the Cullens can teach them a new way.

Yo what romance you reading? 👀 Also any recs welcome spread the good taste ✊😩
FJFKJF when i wrote that post i was definitely reading motherland: fort salem fanfiction 😅 i’ve been staying up too late reading fanfiction like some sort of 20 year old who can still do that without risking their health.
BUT i’ve been reading a lot of lesbian romance this year and i’m absolutely down to provide some recs! important disclaimer, however, i only read one (1) subgenre that’s best described as “ice queen lesbian milf office romance” ft an age gap between 21+ adults. understandably this is not everyone’s jam, but i am simply a 20something lesbian who thinks older women are really hot. what can i say
here are five recs in order of preference:
1. “truth and measure” by roslyn sinclair - the original adapted novel version of the same-titled legendary mirandy/devil wears prada fic. jules moretti is the long-suffering assistant of vivian carlisle, the CEO of a prestigious fashion magazine. then vivian gets pregnant mid divorce, with only jules by her side. and it only gets gayer from there.
listen. i genuinely could not stop reading truth and measure by roslyn sinclair. for three days, i woke up, vaguely did my adult tasks, and read for several hours in a state of what i can only call hysteria. the chemistry is insane. vivian is a hot mean loser with sad eyes and jules is insane for every choice she makes. btw i imagined the nanny!era lauren lane as vivian and current day alison scagliotti as jules. i had the time of my life. 10000/10
(also: i still highly recommend the published version to anyone who read the og fic - the story feels both brand new and wonderfully, nostalgically familiar.)
2. “the headmistress” by milena mckay - sam threadneedle, a closeted math teacher working at a conservative girls boarding school, hooks up with an insanely hot older woman at a conference in the city. three months later, that same hot older woman shows up at the school. woops, she’s the new principal and she’s there to cause problems! the prose is decent, the melodrama is fun to read, and the chemistry is zesty. solid 8/10
3. “the music and the mirror” by lola keeley - based on a supercat/supergirl fic of (i think) the same name. anna, the newest member of a prestigious ballet company, really wants to impress victoria, the former prima ballerina turned artistic director. well, she definitely does that! victoria decides that anna is going to be her company’s new star. this one has a lot of homoerotic partner dancing and really great side characters. still reads like a supercat fic, but honestly that’s another plus. 9/10
4. “the love factor” by quinn ivins - set in the 90’s, this book follows a closeted statistics professor and her TA, a very out lesbian political science phd candidate, as they expose a homophobic professor for falsifying data and fall in love. not as horny as others i’ve read, but still wildly tender and cathartic. i loved also how much empathy this book showed towards closeted lgbt folks. 7/10
5. “something to talk about” by meryl wilsner - also based on a mirandy fic, this book follows the misadventures of a hollywood showrunner and her assistant when they’re mistaken for a couple at a red carpet event. this book strained my suspension of disbelief the most—i simply don’t think everyone in emma’s life would be rooting for her to date her boss LMAO—but the chemistry is great and the pining is unreal. 7/10

SHERYL CROW FT. ANNIE CLARK - WOULDN'T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU [4.62] The most highly anticipated collaboration of the year (not pictured: collaboration, anticipation) with a protest song! Obviously we love it...
Julian Axelrod: David Byrne and St. Vincent's Love This Giant is a wound I'm still nursing six years later. How could a collaboration between two of my favorite artists produce such a boring, stilted slog? The answer is simple: as with every album and movie in history, it didn't have enough Annie Clark. "Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" suffers a similar fate, as Sheryl drags Annie in to sing four lines of a half-baked protest anthem that recalls your mom's friend's outraged Facebook status. Even if she didn't supply the venomous guitar solo that buoys her inimitable wail, it's very much in her spirit. Unsurprisingly, it's also the one moment where this song truly comes to life. [5]
Alfred Soto: Straightening -- in every sense -- Annie Clark's contributions turns an otherwise fusty Sheryl Crow track into a St. Vincent track vying for what used to be called AOR play. A musician recording a track about liars and lying after November 2016 is asking for political interpretations from an audience that needs no convincing. Whether they need a gnarlier Crow anthem or a straighter St. Vincent track we'll soon see. [5]
Thomas Inskeep: When I first saw this was out, I was really hoping it was a cover of the 1977 Alan Parsons Project single. Unfortunately, it's not anywhere so interesting, just a return to Sheryl's '90s/'00s pop-rock style with guest vocals by St. Vincent. The lyrics refer to our current times, and since Crow is not the most subtle lyricist, they're pedantic and unlistenable. (Yes, Sheryl, we know: THINGS ARE BAD.) [2]
Dorian Sinclair: "Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" is enjoyably scathing, and the bass and drums do a good job of keeping it whirring smoothly along. Ultimately, though, it feels a little repetitive, particularly when the third verse tries to get away with rhyming "bracelet" and, uh, "bracelet." [5]
Katherine St Asaph: More un-#remembered '90s: when the now-all-but-destroyed folk-rock genre still got grudging respect, when the conversation wasn't smothered by 500 layers of irony, taste and Discourse and thus "money is the monkey giving you a backache" counted as a protest lyric. And when Annie Clark, had she been recording then, would have made significantly less interesting music. I liked this a little less when I imagined the bridge leading into "Los Ageless." [6]
John Seroff: Kinda feels like they wanted to be like Luscious Jackson and ended up at Sugar Ray. [2]
Alex Clifton: We've got the weird theatricality of Annie Clark's music with one of Sheryl Crow's rockier performances in a long, long time. I'm not sure how this would fare as a solo track from either party, but I know that this is the kind of song I would've fallen head-over-heels for when I was 14, and I'm glad to report that I'm still really into songs like this as an adult. [7]
Danilo Bortoli: It's almost impossible to make Annie Clark seem uninteresting or even unimportant in this day and age, but "Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" is an exception. The guitar, her most powerful asset, timidly appears over at the end and loses its charm. Everything surrounding this mess feels so damn offensively ordinary, as the classic pop rock song Crow has been singing for ages, but also as something Clark could have helped to make so much better.
