I’m bored and it’s 00:09 at my place rn so here’s some personal Gorillaz headcanons of mine. (and no there’s no specific order so enjoy ig)

When Noodle was about 10, she’d always sneak into Russel’s (or 2-D’s) room to cuddle up with him whenever it was raining at night or if she had a nightmare.

2-D has the worst eyesight out of the four, even worse than Russel’s for some reason.

Noodle’s hair during Phase 1 (that weird buzzcut) is because of Murdoc’s antics; Russel told him to cut her hair as it was getting too long, and… it came out funky.

Noodle’s iconic helmet is gifted from Murdoc after he failed to cut the girl’s hair correctly. A walkman was also gifted with the helmet.

During the recording of TNN, 2-D just kept writing songs that always tied back to Murdoc; he tried to change said lyrics, but it just wouldn’t work, so he went with it (not that he minds much, anyways).

Noodle and Ace were childhood friends. First becoming friends after about a few months of living in Kong Studios up until the El Mañana incident, which caused them to cut contact for a long while until Phase 5, where they reconciled.

Russel and Murdoc had known each other for a long time before Gorillaz had even been formed, and they’ve been dating on and off during those moments before Gorillaz. Now with the formation of the band, they’re closer than ever.

Russel has given Murdoc a taxidermy of a crow in remembrance of Cortez, though it’s never been the same for the bassist.

2-D had played dress-up all the time during Phase 1 with Noodle; playing princess, having tea parties, even sleepovers!

When Noodle had her first period, Murdoc was confused as hell (and was briefly disgusted), 2-D was more curious as to why and how, and Russel just became the dad, buying her chocolate, bringing hot water bottles to relieve any pain, and he even buys her tampons and pads if she ran out (true dad indeed). Applies to every phase basically.

Del likes to play with Noodle whenever Russel lets him. It’s quite the sight, a little Noodle being taught how to gamble by one of the funkyphantoms living inside Russel’s body.

When you asked 2-D for help with doing the laundry, he accidentally poured in crack instead of detergent in the washing machine. Your clothes that were unlucky enough to be washed in that washing machine 2-D used reeked of drugs for a long while, and 2-D apologized profusely and even bought you new ones to replace the old ones.

2-D definitely likes it best when you walk together in a park holding/ linking hands; he feels that there’s a bond forming (and he won’t bump everywhere as he can’t see well at all).

2-D asked you out to the local chippy during your first date with him, and he tried his best to impress you, all calm and prepared and all. It’s just that special 2-D charm that always gets you.

Murdoc, who successfully coaxed you into entering his Winnebago with him, realized that it was all messy and definitely made your skin crawl. He tries to quickly clean it up, but it fails. At least he gave you a big, fat barrage of apologies and hugs for the mess.

Murdoc definitely does not do/ enjoy PDA very much, but whenever there’s S/O’s ex/ enemy nearby, he’d get all close and cuddly to you all of a sudden. You like it when he’s like this.

Murdoc would definitely take you to a fancy-enough pub for your first date with him; he even took a shower and he wasn’t too rude to everyone involved, and it was all just to impress you! If that isn’t dedicated, you didn’t know what was.

Russel… he accidentally spilled some animal blood on you when he was doing one his taxidermy projects. You said it was only a small splatter, but he offered to clean it squeaky clean, even if it isn’t very noticeable at best.

Russel likes long, cold walks during winter with you. He always says that the snowflakes falling are like you dancing and falling from above.

Russel during the first date would take you out for a picnic in the park, or perhaps a midnight stargazing experience with him. He’s more of a person who’s enjoy doing these little things with you, and it warms your heart. It does, really.

Noodle would collect little things like seashells or little scraps of things to make you a pretty bracelet/ ring/ necklace out of. Noodle broke one of these that she gave you earlier in the day/ month/ year on accident, and she treated you like a queen for the rest of the day, even if you try to convince her that it’s no big deal.

Noodle likes to go out and adventure with you into the woods, a creek, places like that and such in search of memories and little bits and bobs.

Noodle took you out to out to dinner at her place, as she thinks that this’ll impress you, and it did; her room was tidy, the food was amazing, and Noodle was just all around perfect. You couldn’t take your eyes off her, not even for a minute.

Whenever Murdoc just wouldn’t shut up at times when Russel was too tired to have sex in bed, he would just let his cock sit in the bassist’s mouth; a semi-replacement for sex when the drummer’s too tired to do so.

It's in moments like these when his very clever wit comes out to play.

Whatever this creep says to you, 2D will answer with a humiliatingly sharp comeback. It lets the guy know that you are certainly not to be messed with.

He does this all without causing a scene and anyone else in the area is none the wiser. Except for you, of course, with whom he intertwines his fingers and holds you close.

He is somehow able to switch seamlessly between staring down at this guy with dark, forboding eyes. Then he turns to you with the softest expression checking if you're okay.

As soon as the creep has left, 2D offers to do whatever you need in order to return to being safe. Whether this is to take you home, or stay but never leave your side, etc. Whatever it is, he will do.

Murdoc:

Listen, this man is not the best fighter so punching the lights out of some guy might not be a viable option alkdsfjakld

Like 2D, he has a way of subtlety about his threatening guard. He wraps his arm around you, keeping you close. His voice deepens when he talks to this creep, unapologetically calling him stupid in some of the most creative ways imaginable.

Waving a hand, he signals to security to remove the creep. More than anything it's a show of power, telling everyone watching that HE is top dog, and YOU are certainly not to be messed with.

In fact, he offers to have everyone in the room removed just so you two can get some peace together and you have the opportunity to calm down from such an anxiety-inducing moment

Murdoc might grumble a joke or two and crack out a laugh at the look on the guy's face when he realised he was in trouble.

Noodle:

As soon as she spots how uncomfortable this guy is making you, she immediately becomes like an erupting volcano with a lid on it. There is fire boiling and raging just behind her lips but she is managing to keep it at bay. For now.

Like a steam engine, she heads to your direction at full speed. Ears hot. She steps in between you and the creep.

Target engaged: "Can you not see this person is clearly uncomfortable with how you have approached them? I suggest you apologise to them and then leave now before you find out the consequences to your actions." (She is definitely the most blunt out of all of them bahaha)

The creep just about nearly runs out of ther, not ever wanting to get in a fight with Noodle from Gorillaz. Noodle's rage dissipates before she turns to you. You catch the last bit of it simmering before her now gentle gaze.

She guides the two of you to a quiet spot away from any crowds or anymore creeps. This is where she pulls you into a warm embrace and comforts you until you are feeling better.

Russel:

In front of you, he does not give this creep the time of day. He wouldn't waste his breath on him. He only death stares the dude as he approaches you.

He sees you in distress, picks you up and carries you away from the situation. But as soon as you're in a much safer location, he lays a kiss on your forehead before making his way back to this creep.

Russel is gone for some time and you can only imagine what he (and Del) are getting up to. Upon his return, you ask what happened and Russel simply responds by saying he had 'words' with him.

The rest of the night, he takes you out for ice cream and/or for a drive around the block - anything to keep your mind off what happened.

When you get home, he makes your favourite drink and warms the bed before snuggling up with you while watching your favourite movie.

My Gorillaz headcanons :)

• When Noodle was young, Murdoc, 2-D and Russ all tried to learn Japanese to understand what she was saying.

• For Murdoc it was more of a "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS SHE SAYING???" while 2-D and Russ had softer reasons.

• Russell tried the hardest to learn Japanese, so he speaks it quite fluently. 2-D tried, but ultimately failed. He still knows a little though. Murdoc spent a year learning the wrong language on accident.

• Russell likes watching musicals every now and then.

• 2-D likes to climb trees, but gets stuck in them like a cat. One time he climbed so high they had to call the fire department.

• Even though 2-D likes to climb trees, he is really bad at it. (Obviously)

• Murdoc is trash at video games

• 2-D refuses to let Murdoc drive, but as we all know, Murdoc doesn't care and drives anyway

• Noodle is literally good at almost everything even if she's never even heard of it before. One time when the Geep broke down she fixed it perfectly, and when asked how she knew how to fix cars, she simply shrugged.

• Essence of Murdoc killed a man

• 2-D watched

• Noodle hates the taste of certain sea food, since she ate it so much while everyone thought she was dead.

• Noodle punched Cyborg Noodle on sight.

• Russell gives the bestest advice. 2-D tries his best to follow his advice.

• Only Russ and Noodle are good cooks. Noodle likes making bread, and Russ can make the greatest meal you've ever tasted, but only puts that kind of effort in on special occasions.

• 2-D tried to homeschool Noodle and was very pleased when Murdoc offered to help. He made Murdoc stop once he opened a book that looked like it was written in crayons titled "Murdoc's guide to worshipping Murdoc and Satan but mostly Murdoc because he's awesome"

• Murdoc wears his cult outfit EVERYWHERE....he pulled up to a Burger King wearing it one time.

• 2-D cried one time when Noodle called him cringe because he said yeet

“oh yeah, i just zoned out, sorry” i say while knowing i was actually thinking about all the times where maybe 2d and a young noodle danced in her room before bed because she didn’t want to sleep just yet and murdoc tucking noodle into bed when she had nightmares and he was still feeling guilty and 2d watching ppg with her to help drown out yelling from murdoc upstairs and russel giving noodle piggyback rides around kong studios when she was young and he was still able to do so and noodle watching murdoc play bass with pure awe so he sits down and attempts to show her a few chords and 2d playing guitar for noodle to help her sleep which also forced him to learn a bit and noodle trying to cook a simple breakfast with russel’s help in order to be more like him and murdoc’s heart cracking the first time he looks at her and sees full venom in her eyes and those eyes turning to understanding when she realizes how similar they are by inevitably learning how he grew up to be the man in front of her today and noodle asking 2d why he sticks around when murdoc treats him like shit and he just says “i’ll tell you when you’re older” which just ticks her off a bit and when noodle feels unfathomable joy seeing russel who has been bedridden from his own grief again laugh at a joke she made and murdoc feeling nothing but pride in noodle when he finally sees the album she started come to life and the smug smile on her face when it does because she knew he would love it even if he acted like he wouldn’t and noodle talking to 2d about girls for the first time after she sees a gorgeous person in a zombie flick marathon they’re doing after band practice and murdoc assuring noodle everything would be okay after the video shoot involving a certain windmill through ruffling her hair and her actually believing him wholeheartedly because she sees the light in his eyes and when on the plastic beach murdoc would talk to cyborg as if she was noodle until everything came back to him and he just prayed she was okay with another drink and noodle hugging russel as soon as she finds him again finally releasing some of the yearning for her family that held up in her heart and noodle finding russel’s note he left and not saying anything to him for weeks until she can’t do it anymore and suddenly he’s comforting her promising he’s not going anywhere and for some reason noodle believes him because she sees the smile on his face and noodle doing 2d’s makeup for the first time and seeing his face light up more than it had in years and late night conversations in the kitchen between her and russel as they struggle to sleep because of their past but find comfort in knowing someone else truly gets it and making lunch with murdoc who doesn’t know what on earth he’s doing but is begrudgingly trying when a sick russel can’t be up for cooking and 2d and noodle talking through their complicated feelings with murdoc on top of the tour bus during a spontaneous american roadtrip and noodle seeing her family through a new perspective by telling stories to ace as he helps her dye her hair for a video and noodle staring at murdoc when she finds him in the mountains post-freedom as she is completely disillusioned with him and a new murdoc making her tea silently as she stays up on the couch to watch a zombie flick and the boys reminiscing over how she grew up in a flash after 2d has a nostalgic dream where she was a young queen and oh shit i zoned out again
