notes: first post, my writing’s a bit rusty!! happy 1 year to zb1, i couldn’t be happier to have supported my boys since the beginning :)

% KIM JIWOONG !

to be honest, you guys would be a pretty chill couple. outside of casual dates or romantic dinners, you prefer to stay home and watch a movie together. kissing isn’t your thing, but you love sharing long, deep hugs with him. nonetheless, jiwoong would take amazing care of you, always checking up on you and comforting you when you need it. even though you guys don’t express your feelings all the time, you find comfort in each other’s presence.

% ZHANG HAO !

sassy couple!!! you guys give attitude and bitch as a joke but is it? all jokes aside, hao loves to help you in any way possible and vice versa. even with your busy schedules, you always find ways to make time for each other and go on dates. at the end of the day, zhanghao loves to lay in your arms and listen to how your day went. in your free time, hao would teach you how to play the violin or offer you his endless knowledge on random topics.

% SUNG HANBIN !

hanbin would be the absolute sweetest. he would do things without you having to ask and look after you if you’re not feeling well. you guys love to match outfits from head to toe and do cringey things all couples do. y’all would definitely have a couple's instagram. hanbin makes you feel so loved and treats you to so many nice things you're wondering if you even deserve half of it. hanbin would love to teach you how to dance because it’s something he enjoys so much. before going to bed, hanbin likes to spoon you and snuggle his face in the small of your neck.

% SEOK MATTHEW !

you and matthew are an adventurous couple. most of your dates consist of trying new foods, going to the gym, or sleeping. you guys would make mini vlogs about your adventures (the next best food bloggers/gaming nerds). anyway, you aren’t one for skinship but you have other ways of showing your love. matthew likes to leave you notes before heading to work, while you cook him his favorite foods for dinner. a relaxing but enjoyable relationship.

% KIM TAERAE !

you guys would be a calm and collected couple for the most part. words don’t have to describe how you feel for one another. however, there are times when you get silly, and that energy radiates off of taerae. besides this, you guys enjoy spending time together doing nothing but watching your favorite tv shows and snacking. for dates, you guys would go to karaoke and compete for the highest score (taerae wins obviously because his voice is like perfect!?). you’re never not smiling with taerae.

% SHEN RICKY !

ricky is everyone’s dream boyfriend, let’s be real. he would spoil you so much. you name it, he’ll buy it. apart from this, ricky loves his quality time with you. he will constantly make excuses to hang out with you (he’s so obsessed with you there’s no hiding it). he loves it when you compliment him, it brightens his day and he can’t stop smiling. ricky has such a soft spot for you and you’re the only person he’s this comfortable around. he likes to wrap his hands around your waist and rest his head on your shoulder.

% KIM GYUVIN !

being in a relationship with gyuvin would be so chaotic and fun. every day is a new adventure… what interesting journey will gyuvin embark on today? but seriously, you guys would go on the most fun dates; roller skating, ziplining, going to an amusement park, you name it. he can never take his hands off of you, constantly lifting you off your feet and peppering your cheek with kisses. when you’re feeling down, he does his best to cheer you up (and succeeds because who can resist gyuvin?). there’s never a dull moment with gyuvin.

% PARK GUNWOOK !

hanging out with gunwook makes you so smiley. no matter how long you guys have been together, you still feel giddy and nervous around one another. one tiny gesture can make you blush. small things like taking a walk or sharing a meal are enough to convey how much you guys love being together. but honestly, y’all get crazy around one another. your energy bounces off of each other so there’s no stopping once it starts. he loves kissing you on the lips when you’re distracted to see your flushed face. being with gunwook heals your inner child.

% HAN YUJIN !

yujin is so so shy around you. he never knows how to clearly express his feelings so when you tell him how good he looks or say something nice about him, yujin literally can’t function. aside from that, yujin likes to buy you small treats or write notes to you (loverboy). he’s not big on skinship because he’s afraid he’ll make you uncomfortable, but you love to hug him or boop his nose to see how he’ll react. when you’re unsure of his feelings, yujin reminds you that he’s only yours.

LOOK AT ME!!

pairing; han yujin x fem!reader synopsis; he wants your attention, but you're cold! like the himalayas! wc; 545 author's note; one for my jiji babes </3 twice and zb1 for the win yall ... and sorry if this feels rushed or js cringe in general. im just going through a yujin brainrot :( im a newbie to zb1 so ye i hope i can write for them more <3

how could you do this to him?, your boyfriend, yujin, thought to himself, sighing hard, his soft cheeks flushed red with frustration, lips forming an adorable pout, as he continued to sulk.

he's been wanting your attention for the past 30 minutes. a request, you didn't want to oblige with, mostly because you were studying. your boy was good at everything, except studying with you. you were always left in awe, as he managed to get good grades even after being this swept away by simple things, such as you wanting to study over being all cuddly with him.

he always thought about what it meant to make a mole out of an anthill, and maybe this is what it meant (not that he was willing to accept it too). he was just that whipped and so in love with you. always needing your hugs and kisses to survive the day. had a bad basketball match? hugs. did good on a math test? kisses. is just tired and wants your company?, "okay let's hold hands!"

"if you continue to skip through your biology textbook like this, i might explode.. y/n.. please! just, one— one hug is enough!"

he was rested on the edge of your bed, which was just beside your study table and well, you regretted how bad of a situation you were stuck in. you wanted hugs, but you were just that unconfident in biology, that you had to study your ass off instead of cuddling with yujin.

"jiji.. just one more page and i'll be done! i promise..", you trailed off, your index finger following the sentence you just read, recalling it in your head.

yujin huffed as he sat erect again, from his previous position of being rested towards the wall by your bed. he grabbed your hand, extending his pinky as he brought it forward.

"pinky promise or i wont buy it.", he stated, his voice being slightly serious.

you chuckled as you gave in to his antics, tangling your pinky in his, as you stood up from your chair, taking a moment to stretch your bent knees. what was unexpected was that yujin found the perfect opportunity to pull you towards the bed. as you fell atop him, he flipped your positions, caging your body between his arms. he smiled wide, as he said with pride,

"where will you go now, y/n-ie?"

you were so flustered that your cheeks almost resembled apples. so you avoided his eyes, as you scanned around your room. he tilted your head towards him with his hand, as he stooped down, his lips hovering over yours.

"just this once, i swear, i will even write notes for you."

you couldn't possibly deny so you shut him off by closing the gap between you both.

his warmth lifted all the weight on your shoulders, as you lightened up, your hands interlocking with his. you smiled against the kiss, his aura making you feel radiant, like the sun. he was your happy pill, and maybe this was all you needed to make those biology pointers stay in your head for longer.

you were so glad you decided to give in and finally just look at him. he's so pure and you loved him lots.

“wait so let me get this straight- you like someone.. and instead of doing anything rational, or god forbid even half-normal about it; you’re trying out wikihow rituals to manipulate her dreams?!”

yujin at least has the decency to look sheepish. yeah okay so maybe he did have a crush on a certain someone, namely you, and yeah maybe he was a little too anxious to approach you.

and.. yeah maybe he happened to come across an article which taught him how to alter your dreams via a simple ritual.

writing out the name of your ~beloved~ along with a detailed description of the dream you wished for them to have on a piece of paper, place 9 orange and purple streaked moonstones on it and crumpling up the paper – was, as the site declared confidently, enough to be able to make yourself a constant presence in the dreams of whomever you wished.

as long as he remembered to loudly announce the exact minutes for which he’d known the aforementioned beloved before starting, that is.

well, yujin thought, it seemed harmless enough.

except some part of him did consider it necessary to do a couple of trial runs. he wouldn’t want you to start having dreams of, say, student council member ahn yujin or that new girl choi yujin who had been a little too friendly with you these past few days. there were a lot of yujin’s around weren't there..

which is what lead to you having a series of rather odd dreams. and the subsequent amount of time you spent lowkey freaking out about them.

“gyuvin i swear i wasn’t even thinking about greek gods at all before i fell asleep,” you vent to him one day at lunch, “but i was somehow a mermaid god or something?? AND hades, you know, the god of the underworld, was kinda beefing with me for no reason?!”

your friend who is unfortunately sworn to secrecy by yujin tries his best to distract you, “c’mon dreams are contractually meant to be weird; stop overthinking it! and besides-”

“BUT LISTEN when i woke up the first audio i heard, i think some video that yujin sent me, was about greek gods!! this has happened way too many times for me to put it off as a coincidence!!”

“i think you’re just delusional (like some other people i know..)”

you simply sigh out, “sorry, what was that?” not too willing to expend more energy in trying to convince him that your problem is very valid; and he’s just being very unsupportive of you right now.

"..." you suppose you'll have to make peace with the fact that your subconscious was probably just in a silly phase.

distant sounds of students leaving after evening classes, rustling of trees with a gentle breeze.. and a flick to your forehead?!

your eyes flutter open, more than eager to chastise whoever had thought it okay to break your comfortable reverie. but when your gaze lands on him, han yujin, you feel your complaints dying down. he’s holding out your favorite beverage to you; a soft smile adorning his face.

before you can let out a single word though, there’s.. another flick to your forehead?? what do people have against you..

your eyes flutter open (again?), more than eager to reprimand whoever thought it okay to break your .. wait had you been dreaming just now?

you find yourself with your cheek resting against a table. the one who flicked your forehead yet again appears to be yujin.

his eyes seem to twinkle slightly as he says, “i thought we were going to get our science assignment done yn? or did you plan on doing it while asleep? i so did not expect this from yo-”

“hey.,” you interrupt, “han yujin. you’re free now right? wanna go on a date with me?”

safe to say that you received a very positive response, especially with his now-flustered appearance.

gyuvin really should learn to keep his mouth shut, huh?

Of course 🥰 tbh I am so happy to be getting requests I usually don’t do full group because its more time and I have school but im gonna try to do this as much as I can, rn i have had a lot of testing so I might be late sorry

Jiwoong - Jiwoong is so fine omg he would probably come up to you while you’re doing homework (let’s pretend we are in college) and would wrap his arms around you and lightly kiss your neck (in a cute sweet way) “baby please, you look stressed how about you take a break with me” he would then proceed to cuddle up with you on the couch and watch your favorite movies

Matthew - i feel like Matthew would probably not even need to ask, he’d just start back hugging you or if you are on the couch he would hold you in his arms and give so many forehead kisses

Zhanghao - he would definitely pout or whine until you ask him what’s wrong “these days you’ve been so busy and i know we live together but i need your attention desperately” you would give in and hug this man

Taerae - he’d probably not even ask he’d just take you to the couch and lay his head in your lap so you could cuddle him and play with his hair

Hanbin - he would probably be very careful at first when asking because he wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable despite you being his partner so when he did ask he felt so relieved when you said yes, ever since then he has been a complete cuddle bug

Gyuvin - he probably jokingly pulled you onto his lap and you didn’t say no so he took it as a sign that you were cool with it, he’s really tall so when y’all cuddle in bed he sometimes wraps his arms and legs around you “haha youre trapped”

Ricky - Ricky Is a confident man who probably wouldn’t even hesitate when asking you “YN come here let’s cuddle” he’s very gentle with you and he probably plays with your hair while your face is buried in his chest

Yujin - he would probably be so shy, omg imagine him coming home from futball (soccer) and he just asks you for cuddles as a reward for him winning, he would try to be confident and chill but his heart would beating so fast and when you fall asleep on him he would probably try so hard not to move (the thing you do when your cat is ontop if you asleep so you make sure to stay as still as possible) he would eventually fall asleep as well

strawberry milk.

synopsis. it was a habit of him bringing strawberry milk wherever he goes until one day he spills it on his crush.

“you have a crush on her?”

“hyung!” yujin whisper-yelled with wide eyes, “be quiet!”

him and his close friends and fellow dance members, gyuvin and gunwook, had stepped into the empty dance studio where he would soon be having practice with the rest of the team who would be arriving just any minute. this team included him, gyuvin and gunwook, along with four others, called junhyeon, hanbin, zhanghao and his crush, you.

han yujin was basically a normal type of student in the academy yet, so many were fawn of him although he was a shy fragile student.

the dark haired male surely had a huge crush on his classmate — y/n l/n. she was a bubbly girl who was friendly and also loved by many just like yujin. he never thought he’d would hold such giddy feelings towards someone. you were absolutely like a goddess to him.

gunwook shivered, “she’s pretty nice but when i saw that she was hanbin’s best friend, you’ll be dead meat if you mess with her.”

yujin held onto the strawberry milk carton in his hand, gently sipping on it with his cheeks that were bright red after imagining his crush in front of him. it was a daily routine for yujin to bring around a strawberry milk, it was a drink that always made him feel energetic throughout the day.

“i’m just gonna throw this away.” yujin says and watched the two friend nod before he went out of the dance practice room.

as he tries to step out of the room, he felt his hand collided with someone’s arm, causing his strawberry milk to jump out of his hand. he looks up and sees a familiar face he swore he could faint from embarrassment.

you were standing in front of him with zhanghao and sung hanbin behind you. face shocked by the sudden feeling of cold liquid through your shirt. your eyes met his hazel ones which were wide open by the spilling he had done.

“y-y/n, i’m so sorry!,” he stammered, quickly searching for tissues in his pocket, “i didn’t see you!”

he offers you his sanrio pack of tissues, making you take it. yujin wanted to cry and run away from you out of shame. the accidental spill on his own crush made him surprised.

“yujin, it’s fine. i have a bunch of spare shirts, it’s not like the end of the world.” the smile you gave him almost caused him to melt.

gunwook and gyuvin both rushed to the door after hearing the collision, eyeing the both of you awkwardly and seeing yujin’s tomato-like red face with you smiling and holding his hands together while forgiving him.

gyuvin was close to burst into laughter but had kept it in with pursing lips, “y/n, you should go change before he breaks down.”

a laugh escapes your lips, “sure, see you inside hao and bin.”

the two boys then went in together with the rest of the boys with yujin eyeing you from behind in an apologetic face. his hand gripping the end of gunwook’s shirt, waiting for you to change before class starts.

he then started hearing the loud teasings of the four males for spilling his daily milk on his favourite person. yujin’s hair covered his eyes, shadowing his view with the strands of his baby hairs.

the door then opened, viewing you in a brand new black shirt with shorts, holding onto your phone. you walked in with wang zihao who you had met in the hallway to announce things for the dance lesson today since the choreographer was late.

“hi guys, choreographer is late today but you should do some warming up,” he smiles, “he had assigned two people for a duet choreographed by themselves which is yujin and y/n, okay my krumping class is starting, see ya.”

you had shared eye contact with the male who had spilled his milk on you across your figure, who was leaning against the mirror.

"hey y/n?"

"hm?" you hum. "you need something, yujin?" you ask as you looks up at him. you can see the adoration in his eyes as he stares at you. your stare makes him look away, cheeks blushing bright pink.

“i-i’m really sorry for spilling milk on you so, i bought a strawberry milk for y-you.” he rubs the back of his head.

“and since we’re togeth- wait no! we’re in a duet together, i think we should discuss about it.”

you chuckle at him. then you felt something was placed on your hand. you crossed your eyes to look at your hand, mouth agape. then, you see that his hand was beside yours once he sat down beside you in hesitation.

"we should compare hand sizes."

he averted his gaze from the mirror and raised an eyebrow at the you lounging beside him. "really?"

you hummed, taking his hand in yours to see such a big difference between your small short slender fingers with his slim tall ones, intertwining them together which he looked at you in surprise.

the cool air conditioner ruffled his fluffy hair, and he bit down on the urge to run his free hand through the soft strands. it was a beautiful memory, really, watching you be at peace with nary a care in the world.

tucking your knees under your chin, you rested your cheek on them. "did you run out of ideas already?"

"old is gold.," he quipped, finally sliding his eyes to meet yours. a mischievous smile adorned your lips as you said, "though we can try something else if you want; how do you feel about comparing feet sizes?"

“y-y/n!” he stutters in shock.

a laugh escapes you and gripping his hand tighter in yours which was resting on the cold wooden floor, “come on, i have loads of ideas and a song in mind.”

seeing and feeling you tug his hand, you had stood up and offered him a smile which he slowly returned and stood up with you. he felt his friends eyes behind him with the quiet whisper-laughs and teasing. yujin only smiled to himself, watching you type the song on the laptop.

this happened all because of a strawberry milk.

starting high school was hard, especially as someone who is perceived as quiet. but it was easier for y/n knowing that she had her childhood best friend, han yujin, by her side.

they had been friends since diapers basically, their families being close friends for years. every big life event, they went through it together. all the times y/n cried, he was there for her even if he never truly knew how to comfort her. he was always the bestest friend someone could ask for.

so why was there this envious feeling that pitted in y/n's stomach when he started getting caught up in school events and gaining more friends than her when they entered highschool?

she should be happy that he's fitting in, he deserved all the attention he got. han yujin was one of the most liked students in the grade. with his popularity, soccer and dance skills, and — of course his good looks ; who wouldn't want to be his friend?

but that envious feeling kept on coming back whenever he had to skip out on eating lunch with her because "the soccer team is going out to eat" or whenever he told her to go walk home alone since "his friends wanted to hang out".

she was happy for him, but the idea of him slowly slipping away from her grasp made her heart ache. because the truth was, y/n had a crush on yujin. she had been having those feelings for a while now, maybe before she even realized it.

he was always there to cheer her up and gradually became one of the only things she enjoyed about going to school. whenever he took her to buy snacks, when they played games together, when they went to the park together, and his smile. especially his smile.

y/n sat down in the library since she hadn't fully adjusted to being in the cafeteria. sure, she had made some friends — but she wouldn't call them her close friends. even so, she hated loud noises and the cafeteria was filled with them.

just about now, she expected that yujin would enter the room to tell her about any plans his soccer team had made up to get him off campus for the period which left her all by herself.

as she took a bite out of her triangle gimbap, looking up from her notebook — there he was. the dark-brown haired boy who had been able to swoon her without even knowing it, walking through the doors in a black t-shirt since he most likely just got out of gym.

"y/n!" yujin called out, waving his hand in the air as he jogged over to her, "sorry i'm late, the showers kept being hogged. i didn't want to stink up the library, y'know."

"uhm, i think i know?" y/n questioned her answer, she knew absolutely nothing about sports. "wait, so you're actually going to eat lunch with me today? surprised you don't have anything going on, you've been so popular recently."

"what can i say? i'm quite the catch," yujin shrugged his shoulders with such a smug look on his face, "and i cleared everything! i feel like i haven't seen you in forever, i missed you."

he missed her. han yujin missed her. why was she freaking out on the inside? it's not like they haven't had a conversation before. but it felt different, like his tone had changed from the last time they had spoken. "cool," was all y/n could mutter as she tried to cover her rosy-tinted cheeks with her lunch.

but just as y/n was lost in her own world, yujin had gotten a message on his phone. here it goes. "oh my gosh... y/n, i—" he attempted to speak up before y/n shut him down, already knowing what he was going to say.

"go, it's okay," y/n assured even though her heart was breaking little by little. he had friends, other friends than her. it's not like he could spend all his time with her, it was ridiculous. but why was there this feeling inside her that wished he did?

"i'm so sorry, gyuvin hyung broke his leg and now we have to go over the plays again before the game," yujin explained, getting up while stuffing his phone into his pocket, "you'll be at the game on saturday, right?"

"well, i have nothing else to do," y/n slightly smiled, attempting to relax her back from all the tension she felt, "i'll be there for sure."

"great, i'll see you later!" yujin waved at her as he started walking away before he slowly disappeared into the hallways.

y/n was more used to it now, and she would probably have to accept it at one point. yujin was moving on with his life, experiencing new things. high school is meant for new experiences and it seemed like yujin was going through many things.

what she didn't expect to see? him and one of the cheerleaders hitting it off after he scored the winning goal during the soccer game. oh, how she wanted to shout his name after seeing the way he rebounded the ball and got the last goal ; but then she saw him with her.

she never really tried to learn the names of the people surrounding her, another flaw y/n had. all y/n knew was that yujin was hugging her and that she was jealous? envious? oh, same thing.

and from that day on, y/n would attempt to distance herself from yujin as much as she could. it wasn't like he would notice right? he had all his soccer friends and that girl he hugged. can she give up on the girl already?

it's not like yujin was her property, he was his own person. maybe in a way, to let him flourish ; she had to find her own path without him. maybe, this was just her way of masking her feelings for him in a way where she wouldn't have to get hurt.

one thing y/n didn't think about was how yujin would react to this. all this time, she was in her own world overthinking every single little thing. her bestfriend, who knows her and could read her like a book, was upset to say the least.

he thought she was acting weird at first, but didn't think anything of it until it constantly kept happening. all she would do is greet him and suddenly walk off without saying anything else. it was unlike y/n, she would always be the brightest girl whenever he was around.

it was one of the things he liked most about her, her smile. the way her eyes became cresents like the moon whenever she smiled, her lips curving up and the way her nose scrunched up in the most beautiful way.

maybe there were many things he liked about her. yujin could probably go on a tangent about everything he liked about y/n, the reason he smiled so brightly. it was her. so there was no way it was all in his head that they could've possibly had a spark there, right?

so when yujin found the girl asleep in one of the classrooms after failing to study for her biology exam ; he knew what he had to do.

oh how yujin slowly regretted his decision. he didn't want to wake her up, seeing how peaceful and pretty she was when she slept even if she was drooling all over her textbook.

but he knew if he didn't do it now, he would probably be even more distanced from you and he did not want that one bit. so he did what he dreaded doing and woke up y/n from her nap.

"y/n... psst— wake up," he whispered softly, poking her shoulder in an attempt to wake her up but nothing, "there's free food in the cafeteria!"

"huh? free food?" y/n suddenly jolted awake, looking around the room in a daze before her eyes landed back on yujin, "oh... it was a lie, wasn't it?"

"yeah, i knew that would wake you up though," yujin let out a laugh, sitting down in the chair next to y/n, "i'll get you something after school, i just need to talk to you for a bit."

god, there was that smile again. the smile that could make all the problems in the world disappear. why did he have to be the one with it?

"yeah uh— what did you want to talk about?" y/n snapped out of her thoughts, shaking her head slightly before fixing up her hair, "is it important?"

"you could say that..." yujin fiddled with his fingers for a moment, hesitating for a moment, "i just.. i feel like we haven't talked in a while, is everything okay with you?"

"yeah... everything is fine," y/n nodded her head in assurance. no everything was not fine. but she couldn't say anything about him hugging a girl, that would just be crazy. "i've just been a little busy, that's all."

"are you sure?" yujin questioned once again, "i feel like i barely see you now, i missed you and talking to you.." gosh, there it was again. he always knew the words to say.

"yeah, i'm sure... everything is fine," y/n repeated once more, giving yujin a smile that made him feel fuzzy on the inside. she watched his shoulders suddenly become tense before speaking up, "is there something else you wanted to talk to me about?"

"gosh, am i really going to do this now..." yujin looked to the side, taking a deep breath before searching for something in his pockets. "can you close your eyes for me?"

y/n looked at him confused before closing her eyes, feeling yujin's touch on her hand as he pulled it out and opened it up. right after, he placed something on her palm. "alright, you can open your eyes now."

this wasn't real right? this moment was just a figment of y/n's imagination. because why was yujin's nametag in her hand at this moment? she truely thought she was hallucinating, staring at the nametag with 한유진 embroidered on it.

"when we went to get our uniforms fitted, i had an extra nametag made.." yujin spoke in a shy tone, "and i just decided to... give it to you."

"so what does this mean?" y/n asked, wanting clarification for the sudden gift, "do you...?"

"oh so you're going to make me say it? the nametag was supposed to say it for me," yujin joked, hearing y/n's laugh that he loved so much, "fine, y/n... i like you, like a lot."

"that's better, i guess i like you too," y/n grinned, glancing at the sour look on yujin's face when she spoke, "i'm kidding! i like you a lot... and your smile too."

"truth is.. i thought you had a thing for that cheerleader you hugged on saturday," y/n admitted after all the time she spent hiding away, feeling a sense of relief after letting it out. "i was... jealous, okay? that's why i haven't talked to you."

"wow! i knew there was something behind it!" yujin pointed a finger at y/n like a little kid with his mouth gaping, "that's so silly... she's a senior, why would i date someone that much older than me. if anything, she gave me dating advice."

"oh.. yeah well— you've been so busy recently and i don't know what to think anymore!" y/n got off her chest, letting out a sigh after the long sentence she spoke without breathing.

"oh, now you wanna say all of these things? see, i can read you like a book, i knew it!" yujin clapped his hands at his knowledge of his best friend, laughing while y/n looked away out of embarrassment.

as y/n was looking away, she heard yujin's soft laughs slowly fade away before feeling him take a hold of her hand which made her look his way. gosh, he was looking at her with that cheekily smile again and those shining eyes.

"no matter what, i'll be here for you," yujin spoke sincerely, intertwining their hands together, "even if i can't spend time with you, i'm always here for anything you need. i'll drop anything for you."

"well..." y/n opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, leaving her with only one choice. she looked at her uniform, taking off her nametag from its spot and placing it onto yujin's other hand that wasn't holding her hand. "you better get me another one before i get scolded."

and that was it. or maybe, it was just the beginning? they're young, who knows where their relationship could go from there. kind of cute if you think about it, two students intertwined together. she fell for a smile that she gave.

you stare at the different bowls of food all over your kitchen. your kitchen was a mess. dirty bowls, opened bags of flour and sugar, spoons and forks all over the place. and all because of one guy.

han yujin.

“seriously, what are you doing?” you asked, watching yujin attempt to bake endless amount of cookies. you have seen him cook before, and it has never ended well.

“baking, of course!” yujin grinned at you, before turning back to stir the batter that was turning into dough. he held out a spoonful of cookie dough to your mouth, wanting you to taste it. “try it.”

you push the spoon away. “i don’t want food poisoning.”

yujin gave you a mock-glare. “mean!” he chuckled, before he placed the cookie dough on the tray. after carefully spreading each dough apart, he placed it in the oven to cook.

he smiled at you while you rolled your eyes, pointing at the mess he made. “clean,” was all you said.

“how about no?”

“han yujin!”

“okay, okay! don’t kill me.”

you took a bite of the cookie, yujin staring at your face while watching you, looking for any reaction. was is good? was it delicious? did you feel a food poisoning coming along?

you took one small bite and glanced at him, before taking a huge bite. gosh, it was good. his baking skills have really improved.

yujin grinned at your reaction, grabbing a piece too. he wouldn’t be lying if he said he was only waiting for your reaction to see whether it tasted good or not. he did not trust his own ability.

“rate it on a scale of one to ten,” yujin asked with a mouthful of cookies.

“negative ten.”

yujin mock-gasped, putting a hand on his chest. “how dare you!”

you chuckled, shaking your head. “it would be eight, minus two points cause you made my kitchen a mess.”

yujin smiled softly at that comment. while you were stuffing down your face, he carefully watched your expression. he hoped that you were alright. or at least that he was making you feel better. he started noticing small different things about you, how you have slightly changed. and even though you have never said anything, yujin knew. but he wanted you to tell him, he did not want to ask for answers about the things that you weren’t ready to tell.

“what?” you asked, noticing that he was staring at you. yujin shook his head, waving away your question. “nothing,” he said before he put the now-empty plate away into the sink. he was about to suggest a movie to watch when his phone vibrated in his pocket.

he checked the message, coming from kim gyuvin.

‘my dog. you promised to watch her today’

yujin groaned. he had forgotten all about it. “i’m so sorry yn, gyuvin-“

you shook your head. “go. it’s okay.”

yujin gave you a sad smile, before hurrying off. you closed the door behind him, waving him off. as soon as your friend left, you slid down against the door, feeling exhausted.

yujin didn’t make you feel tired, that was clear. but you couldn’t stand having to lie to him anymore. you were not okay, you haven’t been for the past few months. and you didn’t want to lie to your best friend about it anymore. but you didn’t want to burden him either.

you went to the kitchen to clean up any other mess he have left, and quite frankly, there was none left. but you cleaned the countertops anyway. you always cleaned frantically if you were feeling down, it helps you get your mind away from things.

today was no different. even though you were grateful towards yujin for making cookies for you that day, it didn’t stop your thoughts.

you cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom, before cleaning your already-neat room. you couldn’t let your mind spiral into different places. you only started the habit of cleaning because of yujin, ironically, because he left a mess of your house one day and you had to clean up after him.

but you had realised it helped with your thoughts so you continued. but also because of yujin. you wanted to push on because of him. you could never leave your best friend behind, right? he has helped you more than he would ever know.

you were about to clean your living room for the nth time when your phone dinged across the room. you picked it up, reading the contact. han yujin.

‘i’m outside your apartment :D’

another ding.

‘hurry up!! i’m pretty sure eumppappa wants to bite me’

you smiled softly, rolling your eyes before wearing your shoes, leaving your house. you sent a quick text before turning your phone off, seeing yujin standing outside your apartment building, his phone in one hand and the leash in another.

‘i’m gonna record her biting you’

he finally spotted you coming out of the lobby and smiled, handing you the leash.

“here,” he said. “she likes you better than me anyway.”

you rolled your eyes, taking the leash and the both of you started to walk eumppappa, going wherever she leads you. it was way past evening by now so the both of you were mindlessly walking around the park nearby.

while you both talk about useless topics, you catch yujin carefully looking at you every now and then. you raised an eyebrow at him. “what?”

he shook his head, ignoring your comment. “just wondering,” he mumbled, taking the leash from you. you look at him with a curious look. “spit it out,” you said.

yujin doesn’t say anything, but he pointed at something from a distance. “look! the fish-shaped buns! we should get some.”

before you could even protest, yujin ran over to the stall, buying two fish-shaped buns. you walked up to him before he hands you a bun. he took a bite of his own, nearly burning his mouth. “ouch!” he yelped, his mouth in flames.

you laughed a little too hard at that, and for a brief moment, you see. you see that everything is a little okay. yujin catching your reaction. he smiled to himself, so glad he made you laughed. he has always done it before, but that day was particularly special.

“what an idiot,” you mumbled, smiling softly as you take a bite too. a thought rushed into your mind, but yujin was complaining on how hot the bun was in front of you that it made you push the thought away momentarily.

maybe you won’t be alright all the time, maybe the thoughts won’t ever stop. but yujin made everything okay. even if it’s short, but you were alright. it’s brief, but you felt alright again whenever you were with him.

yujin’s existence itself have always reminded you that everything is okay.

it wasn’t unknown to anyone that han yujin was incredibly favored in school albeit having a relatively shy character. he was multiple students’ eye candy and even had a fan club! being used to the attention, he didn’t take satisfaction in how you weren’t providing him any.. at all.

it’s not like you didn’t believe he was attractive but you cared to focus on your studies better than a mere boy and that rubbed yujin the wrong way.

“hyung, i haven’t gotten any gifts from them yet!” yujin signaled you to gyuvin using his eyes “maybe they’re working on it, why are you so worked up on one person that isn’t being up in your face?” gyuvin quirked his brow, amused at the sight.

“do they hate me? i don’t want people to hate me!” yujin frowned, crossing his arms together “i’m sure they don’t hate you, yujin-ah.” the older boy smiled, patting his friend’s back.

every day when yujin walked into his classroom, there would be at least two chocolates or letters on his table. especially on white day, the gifts kept piling over and yujin would share the snacks he was given with his friends.

he memorized every confession letter as they all started and ended the same way but ever since he noticed that you weren’t interested in him, he kept inspecting every recent letter to see if it was from you. none.

“still nothing?” gunwook questioned, feeling nearly bad for the distressed kid, whose head was face first on the table. “having one person dislike you doesn’t mean anything, yujin..” gyuvin sighed, fed up with yujin’s beliefs about you. “what if they secretly curse me and they plan to use everything against me in the future?!” eyes enlarged at the rash thought.

“then how about you switch it up?”

no, yujin did not like gyuvin’s idea as he has never done this before but he swallowed his pride. so there he is, holding a small bag full of various kinds of snacks that he borrowed from gyuvin. feeling a bit chipper for once, he made his way to your table, secretly loving the looks he got from his ‘kind act’. “hi! i know we don’t talk much but i got you some snacks!” shoving the small plastic bag into your face. you glance up at him, confused at the sudden moment.

“oh, um.. thank you?? but i’m not hungry..” confusion is written all over your complexion. “oh that’s okay! you can have it later.” he kept encouraging you to keep it but you were more persistent than he thought “i don’t eat those kind of snacks.. sorry.” (what are you? jiwoong?) you told as a last attempt to stop the boy from bothering you. “oh.” was all he said, interrupted by the teacher entering the classroom.

for the next few days, he left you alone while trying to figure out another resort. that’s when he caught on the fact that you always drink milk in the morning before class starts, so that was his next objective. he got up super early in the morning to buy you milk at a nearby convenience store. feeling hopeful once more, he placed the milk on your table, and you raised your head to see a familiar face. “you like milk right? here.” with a wide grin and proud shoulders.

“i don’t like banana milk, yujin.”

yujin, who was laidback, is now trying to hide his red ears from the embarrassment. what was this deja vu he was feeling? of course, the sudden remark had gotten stares from around and soon enough, people started speculating that he had a crush on you.

feeling pity for the boy, you decided to give him a not-so-subtle suggestion. after class was over, you called out to the boy “yujin, wait up!” he stopped in his tracks and faced you. “i do like milk, strawberry milk.” you smiled to not make him feel like a fool and he was relieved that you didn’t think he was a nuisance.

ever since then, every morning there would always be a bottle of strawberry milk on your table and a han yujin awaiting your reactions from a distance.

yujin called to you, as you sat comfortably on the beach chair, reading a manga. it was a day of relaxation, a break from school's horrible air and assignments. it was a simple beach date (with hanbin and zhang hao, mostly because you both are minors), and the sun was shining way too brightly.

you sighed, as this was your nth time sitting up from that amazing chair to your boyfriend, to see and check what masterpiece he had created for you this time.

as you reached near him, you could clearly see his shiny hair, dirty with all that sand, and those goofy shades he got on the beach shop nearby. he sat on the shore of the beach, a satisfied, content look plastered on his face. he turned to you, his hands pointing towards a cute sand castle he made using plastic cups.

it was oddly adorable, as you saw little crabs poking out of the wet sand. the sound of the waves, and your boyfriend's cute little giggles made you relaxed. gosh, you really got it all y/n!

you sat next to him, as you looked at him right in the eyes. "it's adorable, just like you.", you went closer to kiss him on the cheek, but he stopped your face with his hands.

"nuh-uh, y/nnie! my face has sand particles! it will dirty your beautiful face! you'll break out.."

you giggled, what a dumb dude.

"so you're implying that your hands are also clean, yuyu?"

heat creeped up his cheeks, as turned his face away. the breeze making his bangs fly up, as he sulked.

"this isn't an equation! i don't imply anything!"

"sure, whatever you say king!"

you giggled, as you swirled your hand in the waters, splashing some onto yujin's face. he gasped as his arms pulled your body closer to a hug.

"did you just attempt to deck me, y/n?"

you just smiled, turning your head to place a kiss on his nose. and then on his lips.

he smiled back, placing a longer kiss on your lips. redness reaching his cheeks yet again, placing your focus on his squishy cheeks.

you stared intently at his cheeks. he was literally a bunny in a human body. everything from his eyes, to his pouty lips made you insane.

"wow, way to confess that you're obsessed with me, bae.."

you flinched, and blinked twice blankly at him. hitting him playfully on his chest, as he 'ow'ed repetitively.

it was ringing in your ears, and of course you kiss him to shut him off. his body hit the sand, as he returned it in a heartbeat.

installed in the back of the classroom, your chin stuck against the palm of your hand, you can't take your eyes off han yujin's angelic face, bathed in sunlight. it's no secret that the teenager makes your heart beat a little too fast, since the first day he entered the class. but despite the fact that you are inevitably remarkable, yujin does not seem to be aware of the signals you are sending him. a sigh leaves your lips almost silently, while a silly little smile spreads across your face.

« hey? earth to y/n, are you listening to me? » your friend's voice slightly wakes you up from your reverie, and takes over your attention for a few seconds. « uh? » you answer her nonchalantly, observing her annoyed look, as she scribbles in her notebook, « so i was saying, you should tell him how you feel. »

a scoff left your lips as you turned your face towards yujin again, shrugging your shoulders in response. « mhh.. maybe one day. » — and even if you didn't believe your own words, you let yourself think that, you never know in advance what the future is made of.

on his side, yujin was fighting the urge to turn his gaze towards you, even for a second, being too afraid to blush hard, if by chance your eyes would cross his. a sigh left his lips as he tried to concentrate on this complicated mathematical formula that the teacher kept explaining, but his head thinks of nothing but you.

twirling his pen between his fingers while bouncing his leg mechanically under his school table, he was surprised to hear the voice of his table neighbor and friend, disturbing his tranquility. « you are absolutely not discreet, » yujin frowned, turning his gaze to the boy next to him, « if you want to look at them so bad, just do it. but stop bouncing your leg, you stress me. »

yujin apologized — but not without gently shoving his friend's shoulder in the process, before biting his lower lip while thinking. a little look at you, couldn't hurt him, right?

but before he could do anything, the bell announcing the end of classes went off in the school, causing students to rush out of class. and when he finally dared to turn towards you, he faced an empty desk, your quick steps having already led you to the school exit. a sigh of despair escaped from his mouth, as he rubbed his face under the amused look of his friend, the latter patting his shoulder as a sign of compassion, before leaving the room in turn.

little did he knows, you were not far from the class, chatting with your friends — when you realized that you had forgotten something in the classroom. « oh wait, i forgot my lunch bag.. » you say as you start to walk back, waving to your friends and smiling, « go ahead without me, see you guys tomorrow! »

as you trotted towards the classroom once again, you didn't expect to run into yujin who was about to leave the room. raising your head towards his face, you plunged your eyes into his for a few seconds — but these simple seconds were enough for your heart to race and suddenly, you didn't know how to speak anymore.

« i- uh.. i.. yujin- » when you said his name, yujin could feel the apples of his cheeks blush instantly. he smiled shyly without moving, not knowing where to put his eyes, his hands became sweaty, and the tips of his ears were burning.

biting your lower lip in nervousness, you suddenly lowered your head to stare at your shoes. maybe it was time to tell him that you like him? after all, the likelihood of you both being alone in the classroom right now, was practically zero. but you were with him, face to face, and your heart was pounding like crazy in your chest.

on the other hand, yujin thought it might be time to invite you to eat waffles with him on a date. so he tried to think as best he could, looking for the perfect words to use to ask you out, and when he finally got an illumination, you finally came to your senses and moved in front of him.

suddenly, you moved away from him to go around him and to your desk, under his disturbed and panicked eyes, thinking that maybe he might have done something wrong. even if it hadn't moved a millimeter.

crabbing a sheet of paper and a pen from your bag, you scribbled a few words on this paper, before timidly offering it to him.

yujin looked at you incredulously, grabbing the pale pink post-it note in the shape of a cherry blossom. he watched you carefully for a few seconds, before reading the words carelessly resigned in black ink, and he swore he heard a sweet spring melody wafting into the classroom through the windows.

it was like an explosion in his heart, as if it was going to escape from his chest, so much it beat. a nervous laugh left his lips as you desperately waited for an answer from him. then, he folded the notepad, carefully placing it in the inside pocket of his jacket, heart side.

then finally, he held out his hand to you, looking at you in the most tender way, that you felt like melting like an ice cream under the sun. shyly slipping your hand into his, yujin slowly intertwined your fingers together, gently pulling you closer to him. and there, without warning, he leaned over to place a shy but warm kiss on your cheek.

« i like you too, y/n. » he whispered, like the most scandalous secret, and you could feel your heart explode with joy.

decidedly, today was really a stroke of fate.
