The storm that's been hanging over the island all day finally settles in just as you get comfortable in bed. You tense as loud thunder rattles the glass of your bedroom window and when lightning comes right behind it and it's just a little too close for comfort, you rush to close the tapestry you have strung up over your window.

The volume on the television goes up higher too, just to drown out the silence in the house because your mom cut out for parts unknown in the wee morning hours so she might not be back for the night. You'll be lucky if she's back in days, today was payday for her, after all.

As the storm rages on outside, you find yourself reaching for the phone at least two times but you stop yourself short of texting him.

Because he's a nice guy but he might not get your stupid and childish fear of really bad storms.

And the boy who does get it, well.. he's probably too busy to be bothered tonight. You know he made up with Kiara, they were all over each other when you saw him pick her up from her shift earlier.

You're doing just fine and staying just a little calm right up to the point that the thunder rolls louder and your windows rattle even more and the lights and TV flicker off only to turn right back on two times in a row.

When the lights go out entirely and they don't just turn back on right away then the panic sets in a little more. Becomes a little harder to ignore.

Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop.

Your gaze settles on the leak in the corner of your bedroom and given that you're not keen on sitting in total darkness and silence, you slip out of your bed, stumbling through the darkness and chaos in the living room to the kitchen. Digging in the junk drawer produces a few candles left over from the ones you bought before Agatha made landfall earlier in the summer. You're halfway through digging around for a big pot to place below the leak in your ceiling when the door is pounded on.

"Who the hell is even out in this shit?" you're wondering to yourself as you gather pan, candles and a long nose lighter as well as a bag of blue fuego takis and one of your creamed sodas.

"Hey!"

Its Topper calling out to you as he pounds on the door. You make your way over to the door and set down your armload to open it.

A loud boom sends you flinching, jumping up a little and Topper steps into you, slipping his arms around you. "It's okay."

"I know. I just hate storms." you mumble and you feel so childish for being afraid that you won't look up at him. The lightning strikes nearby and he grabs you by the hips and steps into your house, locking the door behind him.

"Can I stay here again tonight?" he asks quietly. And he knows that it might seem stupid or clingy to you but after the latest fight with his mother, the only person he wanted to see was you.

He's afraid that he's coming off too clingy, that it has to seem weak, pathetic that he can't stay away but the pull to you is too hard to keep fighting.

And he doesn't want to anymore.

"Yeah.. i.. I was actually thinking about calling you."

Oh the way he feels to hear you admit that. But he doesn't say anything to let on how much it means.

"You were, huh?"

"Mhm." You're looking down til he tilts your chin to make you look at him. "Storms scare you."

You nod. Grumble and give him a little shrug. "I know. It's dumb."

"It's not though. It's okay to be scared." Topper pulls you close by the hips and he's staring down at you, lost in thought. A million miles away it seems. You seem to melt into him as he says it's okay to be scared and he lets you.

You pull away a little because you don't want to seem clingy and you really don't want to start needing him -it's already too late for that- and he nods to the candles and lighter. "We should probably light those. This storm is only gonna get worse.. that's what they were saying on the radio on my way over."

"Yeah." you grab the candles and the lighter and make your way into your bedroom, forgetting all about the pot you grabbed for your roof leak.

The two of you set to quietly lighting every candle you have in your room already plus the three you'd gotten from the kitchen and then you flop down on your bed. Topper follows suit and as he pulls off his t-shirt, you're staring, glad you're behind him and he's totally unaware. He settles in beside you and more loud thunder sends you scrambling to hide your face.

In his chest.

He slips an arm between your legs and pulls you so that you're draped over him and then he wraps his arms around you, chuckles quietly. "Thats.. that's okay, right?"

"Yeah." you mumble, forgetting that you're nearly mouth to mouth with the way he's holding you. When our lips graze his, his breath catches and he wonders if it'll ever come out. "It's just a storm. I'm right here, alright? I'm not going anywhere." his mouth brushes yours with each whispered word and when he caresses your cheek you can't stop the whine that escapes. You want to kiss him so bad that your lips tingle and for a few seconds, you forget to breathe. He hears the cute little sound of course and when he does he just can't take it another second. He needs to kiss you.

It’s the only thing he’s been sure of with any kind of absolute certainty all summer.

“Top-?” you barely get his name out and his mouth is against yours. His tongue probing at your mouth til it falls open and you’ve grabbed hold of his shoulder, nails against his skin as you immediately start to kiss back. He bites back a groan as you melt into him completely, a hand gripping the column of his neck to deepen the kiss and cling to him as much as you can. One of his hands slides up your back and tangles up in your hair. Neither one of you can breathe properly, and there are colored dots lining the edge of your vision. When you nip at his lips, he rocks himself up into you before he can stop it from happening.

You both pull away, catching your breath. You’re staring at the way you kissed back hard enough to swell his lips and he’s caressing your face and the side of his neck. Smoothing damp hair out of your eyes so that it’s behind your ear.

But you already miss his mouth against yours so you’re leaning in all over again before you even realize it’s happening. Your noses bump together and laughter is swallowed by a softer kiss. Gentle pecks that turn into a kiss so deep that you can’t tell where he stops and you start. His hands are wandering over your body and you whine into his mouth, making him chuckle quietly at the sound.

Every part of his brain is frantic. Screaming at him to stop. Reminding him he’s only gonna end up hurt all over again when he needs you too much or he wants you too much and you finally see just how weak he really is. How desperate he is for you to feel the same way about him that he does you.

Because it is weak.

The kiss breaks a second time and you’re staring down at him, dazed. Confused because you were not expecting him to kiss you, especially not like that, all needy and frantic, like you were water and he wanted to drink you up.

“Topper..”

He tenses. Jaw fluttering. “I shouldn’t have.. I-” he’s about to apologize but you laugh softly. Press your finger into his lips. “Don’t apologize. I-I.. I wanted you to kiss me. I wanted to kiss you first, I just..” your words die out and you’re dragging your fingers over defined muscles because staring at his bare chest and tracing the hard planes with your fingers is just so much easier than saying everything all at once.

Having him realize that you’re dangerously close to falling and being put off by it, and possibly, most likely, abandoning you just like others have in the past.

,, Even JJ got sick of you. This won’t be any different. Don’t say it, don’t you dare say it.”

And you listen to your mind instead of your heart or your gut.

“Just what?” Topper asks. “C’mon, talk to me.”

“Nothing.. I was just scared to do it.” you tell him what you can safely admit for now. Your eyes settle on his lips and you’re staring hard enough that he chuckles quietly. “Do you want me to kiss you again, __?”

“Y-yeah.” you breathe out the word, shaky. “I do.”

Topper’s hand catches in your hair and he pulls your mouth back down against his mouth greedily. Hungry. Devouring your mouth with his mouth. When the thunder rattles at your window again, you jump a little and his fingers dig against your body. “Pay attention t’me. Not the storm, baby.” he mumbles, his words swallowed in the kiss.

And the way your heart flutters just a little when he calls you baby.

His hand slips beneath the hem of the oversized shirt you’re wearing and you gasp, your nails dig against his chest, leaving crescents in his skin as you do so. He growls against your mouth quietly, a hand gathering the soft and thin fabric of your tie-dye shirt. When his hands finally settle on your ass to hold you on top of him, you whine into the kiss and nip at his mouth, breathless.

Rubbing against him, though the first time is purely by accident. He sucks in a harsh breath and his fingers dig against your ass. Squeezing. The more he kisses you and holds you like this. The more you squirm against his body, the harder he gets. And he’s trying so hard not to think about it or make things awkward. He doesn’t want you to think all he wants is to get laid. He wants you to know he wants you.

All to himself.

Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. Drip,drip.

The little noise filters into your awarenesses at the same time and Topper breaks the kiss. “Is your ceiling leaking, baby?”

You palm your face and nod. “I forgot to bring the stupid pot in here to catch the water.”

“Hang on. I’ve got it.”

You’re laughing as he stands, letting you cling to him with your legs squeezing his waist. He stubs a toe in the darkened living room, “Shit.” and you’re giggling quietly. He pretends to pout. “That’s not funny, love.”

“No, but also yes. I’m sorry this place is practically a goddamn trap house.” you mumble against his skin and he shakes his head. “It’s cozy.”

“Topper, the back door doesn’t lock and the roof leaks in like.. Seven places. You’re staying in a glorified hostel when you crash here.”

“You’re here though.” he admits, face burning hot as he locks eyes with you while picking up the forgotten pot from the table right beside the front door. You swallow hard. Let what he’s saying -and the look in his eyes as he says it, sink in.

But before you even dare to give yourself an ounce of hope, that inner pessimism is out in full force. Reminding you that if you’re smart you won’t get used to him. Or any of this. Because when it’s gone again, it’s only gonna hurt you so much more.

The thing is, it’s too late. And you’re torn between enjoying the moment and waiting on the other shoe to drop. Waiting on the day everything goes back to exactly the way it was before.

Dreading it when it happens.

He carries you back into your room and gently drops you down onto your mattresses piled on the floor that serve as your bed. Then he turns on his phone to use as a flashlight and slides the pot beneath the leak in the corner of your room. And on his way back to your bed, he stops to light a few of the candles that went out because they’d burned a little too long.

And then he’s settling in beside you again, slipping an arm between your legs again to pull you back on top of him so he can fall asleep holding you. Because nothing else really matters to him right now but doing that.

i went through a lot over the past few months and i learned a lot. the main thing i learned was that i spent sm time and energy on here when that could've gone elsewhere. even though work has been kinda crazy, i've been having more good days in my life and i'm so thankful for that.

i still love you all and hope that you enjoy my content the same. i'm unsure if and when i'll do requests again or if i'll post more fanfiction. ofc there's still the last chapter of vendetta but i'm not sure what'll happen next.

i played the honeymoon tale last night and i can see what ppl are saying. smthn ppl do have to consider though is the age rating on the app. so you may have wanted a rated r tale but we got the pg-13 version. we'll have to use our imaginations and the power of fanfiction to quench our thirst. the devs did give us smthn though which is nice so i'm grateful for that much bc they didn't have to release a honeymoon tale.

Anon:  I love Daryl but I was never a fan of Norman. Trust me, I've tried. I even tried watching a few of his movies including BS but I'm sorry imo they were crap movies. His only claim to semi-fame is Daryl/TWD & even then a lot of ppl I know don't watch or even recognize his name. His last barely legal gf & now DK are an example of the REAL Norman. He's not what he made himself out to be to his fans. He fooled them that he's an upstanding guy when in reality he's far from it. Don't fall for it!!!  Anon:  Dk and Norman are laughing their asses off behind everyone's backs probably thinking we are all dumb and some of you seriously support this behavior and say it's okay. Anon:   Well seems like DK isn't at Norman's gallery opening so she definitely isn't in Barcelona to support his work. Plus they wouldn't hide like this if it's only "friends" hanging out. Come on, some still don't want to see that Norman lied cold in you all's faces.. . --mod-- People are allowed to not believe something anon. We all have different thresholds as to what we need to make a decision. For instance a picture taken from a distance isn't enough for me personally. But I respect the fact that it's enough for others and try and not to talk down to them

Anon:  I have studied those pictures a little closer and noticed something. DK is thin as a stick - her things are practically just bones with muscles and skin on top. The woman climbing on the bike is slim too, but her things seems wider. And then she's even wearing dark jeans that's supposed to make you look thinner. I might be wrong but unless DK gained a couple of pounds over less than a week I don't think that's her

   Anon:  Mod, if they are actually together, do you think we are going to have to see it now? Do we actually have to be forced to look at her attending his art shows and walking red carpets with him? He doesn't do that stuff! I could cry at that thought alone I'm sorry Norman but I can't do that. I didn't sign up as your fan to have to put up with her and her trolling either. Please say it's not true --mod-- If they are then I'd assume we'd maybe see more of them. But I'll make this promise I will keep her to the barest of minimums on the blog. 😉

Anon:  Mod do you think it's possible that they really are only friends? I mean why would he make an official denial like he did only two weeks ago if he was with her? It seems so weird if he did that. It makes him out to look like a complete liar. Also people were saying that he was taking pics with fans while she was there? If that's true, why would he do that with her of all people if she they were more than friends?  --mod-- I think it's totally possible they are still friends. He has friends that he's been out with and have stood back while he took pictures with fans. What strikes me as weird is no one that has said she was there took one picture of her not even a creeper..   

Anon:  I get that people are pissed but the fact is, none of us personally know N or DK. We only see their public personas. We have no idea who they truly are and have no basis on which to judge their relationship. Even if we feel we do, it still wouldn't give us the right to interfere. It's their business and none of ours. And if N is making a "mistake" somehow, it's still his to make. Respect the boundaries between fandom and real life. And if you must leave the fandom, then just leave. . --mod-- Fair point.  

Anon: To people losing their shit - ever considered that N has 'lied' not to be deceitful or because of JJ, but because he KNEW that the batshit elements of his fanbase would react exactly as they have? Maybe he's keeping it quiet purely to protect DK and himself from lunatic fans who think he owes them something.   

Anon: He has left up all supportive comments but deleted others. Even respectful ones just showing disapointment. I think the blind is right he will go public with her. And I’ve noticed that when things arise with her, rumors fly or they’re spotted together- he seems to post photos of him with kids, make a wish foundation children, etc around the same time… And his Facebook page did that again tonight… several pics that have already been posted… but were posted again tonight of him with kids and charities… and it turned my stomach because it comes off extremely fake to me now, like he’s trying to get his image to be shown in a better light whenever the DK stuff hits the fan. I always thought of him as a good person but… now I don’t know what to think anymore because I went from thinking he really cares about his fans that are kids(I know he does care) but to somewhat use them to get his reputation to look better at these times… Ugh. :/

Anon: Did anyone thought that the blond girl jumping on NR was Hillary Burton (JDM's wife), she was in Barcelona with them and she does own boots and bag like the ones in the picture, they're not a special edition made for DK (other people can have the same). When I see how many IG accounts are created by so called "fans" to only spread rumours and hate toward NR and DK, I believe this storm won't stop, so I hope you have lots of whiskies and nachos mod. --mod-- That was my first thought.
