‘May Day - Sawbridgeworth’ I got a flat tyre yesterday in the school run. Thank goodness for good friends who can help you out at 2 minutes notice and for roadside recovery. While my true was being fixed @JohnMilestyres in Sawbridgeworth, I trotted off to the nearest field to slap some paint about. This painting is straight from the field; I haven’t done any further work on it or touched it up in the studio. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. Work in Progress - Much Hadham Commission OK, full disclosure; I am meant to be doing paperwork and admin indoors for my husband.... I’m really hoping he doesn’t see this post....😬😬😬😬😬 But today is so gorgeous and I couldn’t help myself after all that rain. I just had to pack the paints and a few canvases and a bit of water so that I can chuck some paint around in the grass and hedgerows. ‘Evening Sun’ This piece is currently being shown at the Tudor House Gallery in Sawbridgeworth where you can see some of my work in the flesh. There is something magical about the sand and the surf and children being children. I always seem to have my best days at the beach. As a family, we have been very spoilt by travelling in our camper van and visiting the amazing beaches around the British Isles. I have an ongoing obsession with the sky, and I am always amazed at the incredible sunsets that are ever-changing in the evenings. Work in Progress - Southern Country Park I’ve been outside painting again trying to miss the rain. I was armed with lots of plastic bags to sit on and I managed to do a little sketch of the country park near Thorley. I hadn’t lovely chat with a little boy called Michal who was fascinated with the paint and my notebook (hi Michael Anna Olivia 😊😊😊😊... thanks for chatting to me and helping the time pass). The painting still needs some work but I thought you’d like to see the colours and the boldness at this stage. Sometimes you can carry on and kill the painting; sometimes you carry on and the magic happens. I’ve no idea what the next stage will be but fingers crossed it’s the latter. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Hopefully the weather will dry out a bit soon ☔️ ☔️☔️☔️☔️ and I can get back out there in the fields. Painting again today.... yes!!!! What do you use if you forget your palette? 🎨 Answer....whatever you have.😊 In my case a painting that I was going to try to transform. Oh well. Needs must. 😀Sometimes a plastic bag, or a bit of woods lying around will do. Best bit of advice from me? ...to write a list and check you’ve got all your gear if you’re planning on painting in the field. And of course, go to the loo before you leave the house. N O W S O L D 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻‘Three Sisters’ Another from my new abstract series. I’m all about the garden again and this reminds me of seeing those seeds and getting the garden ready to do its thing. I grow sweet corn, runner beans, tomatoes and spinach every year with varying success. One trusted tradition is the ‘three sisters’ method where you create supporting circles with three veg as they grow, namely sweet corn, runners and pumpkins. I love a bit of Monty Don and have been watching #gardenersworld and loving every minute of it. This painting is me tipping my hat to that method and all the buds that are getting their groove on (I don’t know what’s the matter with me today) to greet the sun. Mixed media on art card and measure approximately 15 x 30 cm. Mount size 40 x 30 cm. This one is £70 mounted on white board, including UK p and p.
