Neutral/Positive presentation of visible disability and disfigurement in horror
The People Under The Stairs (1991) - Roach
Missing his tongue due to *REDACTED SPOILER* is a loyal brother and friend, helpful, heroic, chaotic, fearless. The people under the stairs while featured as prominently are also in this boat and i will defend them with all my heart. initially scary, but thats not their fault.
Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter (1974) - Professor Hieronymus Grost
A righteous dude that just happens to have a hunchedback. Proper, clever, knowledgeable, brave, and dutiful. A hunchbacked Van Helsing. This movie is Entirely on youtube and its an all-time fave of mine.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) - Franklin
He’s just a regular guy on a regular roadtrip with his friends. He uses a wheelchair. caring, a little awkward, and loveable. Sure hope nothing happens to this crew of teens
*I have a list of criteria i used and some other write ups related to this post but was trying to keep it short..er. Can post if wanted. stay spooked horror fans
