For most of this book I was faintly bemused and or mildly disgruntled by its choices but now that we are into the Táin Bó Cúailnge section I am mad about almost all of them

Ugh!!! We're going away next weekend (to a vacation/touristy spot) and our shabbat plans just fell through. And they just fell through in, like, a super inconsiderate way?

We don't know anyone in the area so we paid for meals, and very specific lodging that was geared towards those meals plans. We did this months in advance and confirmed everything.

So only like a week to go, we get a phone call saying that the rabbi decided to go out of town (they told me the exact reason, it was not a family emergency or something like that, just a random choice), and they were cancelling services and our meals. They said they'll package some to go meals for us to pick up, but apparently the cold prepackaged food is the same price as the hot meals so they didn't even offer a partial refund. I spent several hours on the phone with various places and I think, maybe, please G-d, have figured out a way to allow us to still observe shabbos, but it is still far from ideal.

I'm just so annoyed. Had the rabbi decided to be out of town at an earlier date, we could have just made arrangements elsewhere and had a proper shabbos. We specifically chose this place because they said they were available. Like I'd have more sympathy if it were something unavoidable on his end, but it was absolutely not, and it just strikes me as so inconsiderate to cancel on people who've already paid a significant chunk of change, not offer any helpful alternatives, and to do all that so last minute as to not allow us time to really work out our own other options.

I would like to lodge a complaint about this new trend of movies and tv shows just having what is basically an endless playlist rather than an original score, big thumbs down, an original score is better on all counts for reasons i shall list.

1) will fit the emotion of a scene better because it is designed for the emotion of the specific scene

2) a repeating musical theme can make an entire film/show feel more cohesive as the music is tying the scenes together

3) what is better than two characters having seperate themes and those themes intertwining and becoming beautiful when the characters finally start to get along/work together/kiss

4) non-lyrical music can pull an audience out of scene because you get distracted by the lyrics

5) i like original scores
