um im just scrolling through the streamys tag and i saw your posts and i thought "oh they seem cool i wonder what the blog is like"... then i went scrolling and you mentioned link coming out??? huh??? (i haven't watched gmm in like years year years) you seem like a level headed person to ask.... link is... gay? did this happen recently??? i am so confused but i know that if i google im gonna get garbage results. so yeah

Hello! Sorry for the late reply, hope you get to see this.

The answer is... yes and no. While there isn't anything explicit / certain / definite over all this time, it seems there is some restlessness on their side, with several projects such as their recent scripted videos, but also as far back as Hazel, the GMEs and Ear Biscuits that point towards the possibility of them taking a very slow, long way towards this direction, especially Link. In fact it seems like Link can't stand being in the closet anymore but Rhett dreads leaving it. That's my general impression.

While I might be considered the most stark supporter of this theory around here (or at least the one who verbalizes it the most), a few days ago more people started considering it thanks to a moment during GME where Link did something very close to a coming-out.

In case you haven't watched any of the GMEs, GME (Good Mythical Evening) is a paid live show they do once a year, which is like the strictly adult version of GMM. There, strong references to sex are allowed and they also drink enough to get inebriated and foul language is also allowed to some degree.

All that on its own would be already a lot to consider, but GME has also strong homoerotic traits since Rhett and Link play a lot with their ship there. Last year, they re-enacted rhink fics where they were having sex (basically handjobs?), I don't remember exactly. And they acted LIKE they were doing it. This year, they took it up a notch and Rhett actually sucked Link's nipple, among other things. And I mean, he really did it. For a few seconds. But he did it...properly. Don't ask me why they do this stuff. I don't know. I think nobody knows. I am just presenting you the facts so I can give you an idea about what is going on.

So, during a game in this latest GME, this dialogue took place regarding what the act of "docking" is:

Rhett: I was right! It is a gay thing! Stevie: Whaaat? I mean, well, Link also agreed with your answer so... Rhett: We both get points! Hold on, though... one guy needs to be circumcised. Link: Yeah you only need one circumcision for docking. Stevie: Oh you're asking ME? Rhett: I think..... I don't know a lot about this but I think only one guy needs to be uncircumcised. Link: Do you think docking actually happens? Because I don't think docking increases pleasure. Rhett: I don't know, man. I can't do it, man. My parents didn't give me a choice. They just circumcised me, man. Link: I know, but even after you're circumcised, you can try. Rhett: With someone who's not circumcised...... And also, I am not gay. Link: Hey, that's okay. It's okay. Rhett: Yeah, I mean, it's cool to not be gay! Link: No, it's not "cool"- Rhett: No, it's "okay" to not be gay! By "cool" I meant it is "okay" to not be gay! Link: But just go ahead and explain yourself completely. Rhett: But I might do it for scientific purposes! Link: This is what I wish you would do when I say something stupid. Rhett: If they needed to figure it out, if two scientists wanted to figure out whether two guys need to be uncircumcised, I'd be like "okay", I mean, I'd check with my wife first. Link: Yeah, but just say it is equally cool to be gay. Rhett: It is cool to be whatever you wanna be. Link: Yeah. Exactly. It's cool to be whatever you need, you want to be, you are. It's cool to be who you are. That's what I am deriving. Rhett: Yeah, that's the coolest you can be, to just be who you are. Right, Stevie? Link: I, you know what, I feel like, Stevie, I feel like I have been on a journey. Stevie: Okay. Rhett: Yeah. Link: To know- to figure out who I am. Rhett (mutters): Yeah, yeah, right. Link: And it's extremely rewarding, challenging and- Rhett: But we won't be docking later... Link: And..... rewarding. And we wanna- Yeah... can you... I was saying something important. Rhett: Because we're both circumcised. Link: Yes, but we are not gonna be docking later. Rhett: Right, because we're both circumcised. Link: But you can be circumcised and still have enough of a skin left after the circumcision to dock... In Good Mythical More we are gonna answer questions from the crew and we 're gonna have conversations about - (meanwhile Rhett talks simultaneously and almost over him about unimportant docking musings) Link: ...Right, so if you are not gonna come to Good Mythical More, please you can still get a ticket, join us for Good Mythical More, but for now we're gonna move on. Rhett (sarcastically): Don't you want more of this? Link: In the More. Stevie moves on with the game.

So, what happens next, Link also had two-three more moments when he seemed to consider talking about something and Rhett explicitly told him "Whatever it is you want to say, just keep it to yourself" and also in another moment "You can tell your Uber driver on your way home but not here".

During the More, at which Link hinted, there was a red box with nosy questions asked from the crew. Rhett was the one taking the questions and reading them. He chose to not read loudly and thus answer at least two questions, even though he pulled them out of the box.

Link eventually did not make any more similar statements.

You should also know that a couple of weeks ago, during the GME promo, Link had said that one reason we should watch the GME show was that he might even make an emotional speech before its end.

Another thing, the last months Link has also expressed in interviews and even in a college graduation that it is important to find who you are and explore your identity, addressing this especially to young adults. He always seems emotionally charged when he does it.

That's it. To me it just seems like there's one explanation only, but I will leave you to your own conclusions.

And one last detail. Rhett did everything in his power to not let Link finish what he started - almost bullied him out of it. Despite all that, notice what he said. While Link was trying to say whatever he was trying to say, Rhett said:

But we're not gonna be docking later.................. because we're both circumcised.

And he repeated the explanation once more.

(well I know how I am I LOVED THAT WIN GOT TO DO A SCENE WITH SUCH IMPRESSIVE ACTING!! WITH HIS FACE!! the one where Nawa calls Guy out! the way Nawa was obviously feeling choked up and about to cry but WOULD NOT cry because he had to get his point across, he HAD to go back to the antagonism to make Guy snap out of it!!! (Like a lite version of the teasing with the crying video on the roof top!) I think the punching while neither really wanted to fight the other anymore is heartwrenching!! And I'm sorry but he has never been more beautiful than in that scene I know that's not the point of it but it is just as much about what he does with his face than how he looks ;____; He is. the. best. and I'm so glad he got to do that scene)

Okay hmm I'm sure I had a point here. Or several! First of all, thank you for the Chanel hair-eating video I have watched it MANY times, and when I first saw it it was at the end of a not at all good day and it gave me back a little faith in there being good in the world. So, you know, little things that can become big things. I'm glad you started posting about Win more at about the same time I started realising how awesome he is, serendipity! (And cats, so nice that he likes cats, cats are so important. where would we be without cats hanging around humans just vibing.)

Second point, I agree both about Win hopefully getting a softer role, and about GMM fumbling Gram's writing terribly. (I don't know why I took it so badly, really, but I couldn't watch the last two episodes for feeling so betrayed by the writing. Dramatic perhaps but that's how it was.)

And I'll make this the last point since I don't want to write an actual essay here:D (FIC SPOILERS AHEAD) The fic!! shooting stars!! The bit about the piercings! And Nawa thinking of Guy and whether he had a crush on anyone (and later ASKING about it) and then the two different shoes:))) I completely agree that his parents/dad would be strict/controlling to say the least. And the text convo with him and Max <3 Love texts in fics and love their banter. Love that Nawa likes cats, of course:D (Also, don't know who Diamond MQT is but will be looking that up to laugh at Nawa if need be. Also also, side note, any recs for soviet post punk??) And a very nice way to end it, never mind canon divergence:3 So thank you for writing!!

i'm absolutely unhinged after this dangerous romance episode, but in a good way. this was definitely my favourite ep out of the whole series, i think. and especially as a penultimate episode, i'm just so happy with it.

yeah, that whole guynawa scene was honestly one big moment for win to shine (and marc as well btw, a+ on everything he did there). win just showed such a range of conflicting emotions that i wanted to fight nawa and hug nawa at the same time jglkdfjglkfdjgkld i hope a good director sees that scene (*whispers jojo's name like a spell*) and decides they want win as a lead for their next big project. he can do it all! please!

(also, i don't mean to be so blunt, but i feel like that scene gave you some sort of an awakening KSJDGLKFDJGKLFDJG win is always beautiful, of course, but him being particularly beautiful to you in that scene 👀 very interesting)

to be honest, i've only really gotten into win when dangerous romance started. it's kind of funny, because i have seen him in secondary roles all the time and i LOVED him in those, but i just kind of didn't put two and two together jkgjkdfgjfkdlgj i was raving about him long before i realised that hey, that's probably my favourite actor! but flashforward and now i'm the tumblr ambassador to win pawin 😌

i am super on board with your feelings about gram. i have several gripes with not me's political messaging, but the one thing that truly pisses me off in the plot is gram. someone joked once that he was replaced by his twin halfway through the show, and honestly that makes the MOST sense. he was one person and then became a completely different one. and he was totally in love with black. i want that written on my fucking grave.

(also, i fully support dropping media that doesn't bring you enjoyment anymore! i don't think there is such thing as a valid enough excuse for it even, you can just do it whenever for whatever reasons, it's not too dramatic at all).

now, as for the fic!! first of all, thank you so much for reading it and i'm really glad you liked it 🥺 i got a little obsessed with nawa's wardrobe choices in that episode because 1) the jersey didn't seem to be very in-line with his style (whenever he's outside of his uniform, he dresses in this kind of preppy-casual style, so the more sporty t-shirt caught my eye) and 2) he doesn't always wear his earrings (for example he doesn't have them in at the club, which seems like prime time to wear them), so i just really wanted to explore that somehow, and i think that feeling of trying to decide what to wear when you're gonna see your crush is very real. i'm also really glad you get where i'm coming from with nawa's parents! a lot of his actions in canon reflect a very specific home environment to me. and i just really love all the friendships in dr, so max HAS TO make an appearance in all my nawaguy fics. as for diamond mqt, i was mostly just trying to find an artist that guy specifically would find kind of ridiculous, and i think a guy who wears chains with grand theft auto font and has a track called 'gucci belt' falls right into that category kgjfkdglkfdjgkldfj

now, as for soviet post-punk recs...

the thing is, technically speaking, soviet post-punk originated in the 80s and the niche was mostly filled by the band kino. kino is my longest special interest, so i could write an entire essay about them and i'm honestly barely holding myself back, but i'm not gonna do that. the point here, though, is that kino stopped existing after the singer-songwriter of the band victor tsoi died in 1990 - just a little before the fall of the soviet union. this puts kino in a special position of being the sole strictly soviet post punk band. though other bands in the 80s were also experimenting with post-punk-ish sound, they continued to exist long into post-soviet times.

so what i'm gonna do is i'm going to very self-indulgently recommend you ten kino songs, which show the diversity of their sound. and afterwards i will throw in some bands that originated in ussr and that have identified their music with the post-punk label at some point, as well as some more modern bands that were influenced by kino.

let's get into it!

Enigma

do u know how mad i am abt this. i'm a win anti first and a human second. but i am also a fucked up schools stan first and a human second AND prim is in this . so i'll literally have to watch it i'm so mad 😭😭😭 it looks SO GOOD 😭😭😭😭

Final Reflections

overall it's a very mediocre year ngl i was a little disappointed. there were very few shows out of the 18 that i was enthusiastic to watch but otherwise it's all very meh. i hope the final trailers will be better tho i'll stay tuned for them!

How are we feeling because of tgg😭😭😭😭😭

Scared and confused and also angry at half the characters. Like wtf is Mon going on and on about all she cares about is Korn and how he's doing. Even after everything that has happened over the last few episodes she's still on his side??? Still worrying about and justifying his act of literal mass murder like wtf. I used to like her but not so much anymore. As I've said before, Mon has shown that she'll cross a lot of lines for her own benefit and the more I watch of season 2 the more obvious that gets.

Secondly, Punn, fuck I am so worried about Punn. He's completely isolated himself from everyone and no one seems to care? He's also overdoing his potential way too much and we all know how badly that can go. I'm also really concerned about how Darin is using her connection with him and his family to manipulate him into helping her and pushing him even further away from the others. I'm worried that either he or one of his alters is gonna end up doing something Bad and it's gonna fuck Punn up even more. So there's that.

And then PangWave. Oh gods PangWave. They've been acting like boyfriends every episode anyway but this episode felt like a break-up and y'all better believe it had me sobbing. Nanon and Chimon have such amazing chemistry, it's so natural and so adorable I really don't understand why gmm keeps sleeping on them like they're in every show together anyway why can't they be a couple in just one!?!? But yeah I love PangWave and I hate what's happening to them rn.

Finally, there's the fake deaths. I really did wonder about Time when we never saw a body and Korn's healing factor thing was always something to consider. I'm so relieved that Time is alive but now I'm wondering wtf the ministry is doing not treating the students? It just doesn't make sense not to now that the Director is gone anyway. Makes me wonder if there's something the Director took that's stopping them from moving forward. Because otherwise they'd already have control over the program especially since Pang gave up the audio files. I don't trust Darin one bit but I don't see any way her or the ministry benefit from the kids dying so why tf would they hold off on treating them, right? I think they really don't have the right way or the right tools cause Supot took that info when he fled. I'm worried about how he'll try to manipulate both Time and Pang now that he has them and, to some extent, their trust. Also super curious about their past story of how the Gifted Program came to be. It's obvious Supot was personally involved so I'm curious to see how he did whatever he did to make all of this happen.

Sorry about the essay but I had a lot of thoughts about today's episode, honestly I'm still processing. It was a hell of a ride.

*chuckles gleefully* So you've watched He's Coming to Me? Then my work here is done. 😎 but honestly! I think people either don't know about the series or avoid it because it's "not SOTUS". I've seen a discussion about it on youtube once and it seems that many rejected the idea of Singto paired with someone else. GMM also did a poor job? You can only find random backstage and preview videos om their YT channel unlike other series. Truly a pity. 😭

I’m so mad that people are not watching this show because Singto is paired with someone else. His chemistry with Ohm was OFF THE CHARTS and generally the plot is something that I have not seen before in this genre. Is it possible to fight GMM because I want to? They deserve the promotion and an easy way to watch it with subs.

Don’t get me wrong I love SOTUS but it’s dumb as hell to not watch this show because Singto isn’t with Krist. I watched this as soon as I finished SOTUS S and I was able to separate the two characters/pairings with no trouble. Why? Because Mes was way different than Kong. Singto as an actor really made this role his own I don’t understand why people will not give recognition to certain shows just because their favorite pairing are no longer together. It’s unfair to the actor and can really stunt them.

Anyways, watch me complain about the lack of hype surrounding this show for the next few months because everyone is sleeping on it. Also...if you got anymore suggests let me know because every show I’m told to watch ends up being my favorite
