So I have had a ridiculous amount of fun this last week plushifying art and throwing my usual crafting rules out the window as I did so*, and I think I want to make plushifying art a more regular thing? I'm not sure how best to do that, though. Should I make a post that's like "reblog this if you want your art turned into plushies", or "reblog this with links to art you want turned into plushies" or suggest a tag that people can add to art they want plushified, and then I go through the tag when I want to make some plushies? *no paper patterns, just drawing directly on the fabric so each plushie is one of a kind

#the person behind the yarn #I can't guarantee I'll make all of them #some things are harder to plushify than others #whether for skill level concerns or 3D object concerns or just don't have that fabric concerns #(for the life of me I haven't been able to find purple faux fur) #also when I plushify art the artist always gets first dibs on the plushie #and I am almost always more than happy to send the artist the plushies #either in exchange for an art trade #or if no trade I usually just ask if they are willing to cover the cost of shipping? #if it's got some bought-for-that-project supplies I miiiight ask if they're willing to cover that specific cost #but that would be like. if I had to buy beads and used them all up making the thing #and maybe for more labor intensive plushies??? idk how detailed some of these might be #most of the time it's either art trades or the cost of shipping

#i think if i did it again i would 1) make the squares a bit bigger 2) not use these stupid color changing yarns (i was trying to get rid of #it so i dont mind how it looks here but still 😔) #3) cut the lining better 4) buy more fabric lmao so the lining matches the top row #oh the strap!! i did make it too long and i dont really have a good and time efficient way to crochet it and have it not stretch a ton as #soon as you put like anything in it #i did specifically put the strap on last so theoretically it can be switched out at a later date and also you can always just tie it so #i might also add a magnetic button too if i ever find mine #but still!! i think it came out cute #i might put it in my cabinet and keep it for christmas present stock lmao

I already knew how to knit (in the strictly legal sense) but I have preferred crochet since I learned how to but I just learned how to knit continental style which uses a lot of the same movements as crochet and I'm now knitting a) in a way that doesn't hurt my shoulder and b) really fucking fast, like twice the speed I used to and I will only get faster with practice. Very exciting.

A store in my town had these things of Bernet blanket yarn

for $5 instead of the $12.99 they usually are and they had several different color combos (all of them were three colors) so now I have so many more colors of blanket yarn for making plushies :D

#i only bought 3 of them but I might go back when I get paid and get a couple of the other ones #like it's only about 73yrds of each color #but when I'm just making small plushies that's not bad #One of the reasons I haven't made plushies in a while #is just that I haven't had very many colors to work with #and blanket yarn can be kind of pricey so I hate just buying it randomly to stock up on colors #but then when I find patterns I like I never have the colors i need lol #Anyway I got like 73ish yards each of 9 more colors for $15 #Very good very nice #lee speaks
