I’m so sorry to ask this of you right now since I know your requests are closed but- my memory isn’t the greatest, nor is my writing. I would desperately love to read your interpretation of something. (I believe you’ve already done the story quest but just in case- spoiler alert…)

What do you think happened in Scaramouche‘s past? As in… how he was the original puppet…. After Beel not Baal sealed his powers and set him free to wander— do you think he ever fell in love? Before the Fatui found him and such….

Miko mentioned, “later, this puppet wandered Inazuma as an ordinary human male with his own consciousness, until… the Fatui took an interest in him.” So with his own conciseness, do you think he was always the way he is now? Or was he once a gentler soul?

pls I just want a tragically beautiful love story with him- the death of a loved one, especially their first and potentially last love, could certainly drive one mad with cruelty- a new reason to fight for the tsaritsa- brainwashing

mmm, well to be honest, I kinda missed a huge part of his backstory because I was impatient and only talked to Yae for a little bit after the chapter ended. My good friend filled me in though on some of it and I also think @dourpeep would know the most since Scara is a pretty knowable character for them

thoughts got long so ... (SPOILERS: SCARA, KAZUHA, INAZUMA)

so it makes sense as to why Scara is small and so young looking, idk how long the Decree was going on for but the wiki says at least a year and it couldn’t have been that long because Kazuha was pretty old by the time it started and lost his friend during it -- so I that gives me the impression that Scara was never a ‘child’ and was literally created in the image he is now

... okay so i’m going into like a stupid analysis here, but let me rant

children go through stages of development each one is iimportant because it helps them gather information necessary to be a part of society ( depending on your environment, your understanding is altered etc. etc. ) - if a being never had the opportunity to learn and develop ( which Scara sounds like a clone to me that held parts of Ei’s memories but maybe not many ) then they aren’t going to be very socially adept ( i.e. pick up on cues and understandings through normal observation and mimicking )

When a person doesn’t have an identity, when they have no attachments, they will lean toward the first things that give them praise and ‘affection’ even if it is hurtful = here comes the Fatui who showered him in everything he could have ever wanted because they saw a power in him no one else could, and they unlocked that power in him and taught him how to use it

I don’t think Scara lost something important to him, I think he never had anything to begin with and was scooped up into the arms of the Tsaritsa to shape to her will - they see him nothing more than a tool just as much as Ei did

Scaramouche, having no childhood, no real show of what love can be, is basically a toddler running around seeking approval and witnessing interactions from not so nice people and, because they have his back in their own way, his loyalty is unwavering

-- funny, i recall having this same conversation months ago when we first met scara, and now i feel pretty solidified in it.

TLDR : Scara is a being born without childhood and right now he is surrounded by people who encourage his destruction of a world that never accepted him because he was never a part of it in the first place

Correct me if I'm wrong here but has anyone else noticed a drop in quality in the newer dg and events.

And I don't mean fanservice. I mean the stories are kinda dull.

Like I'll make a comparison real quick between some DG stories. Lemme just find some that seem similar (spoilers ahead)

Ok both of these DG stoies (although dealing with different brothers) both have the theme of everyday life in the Devildom

In Morning Voice: Belphie gets you to record your voice for him to use as an alarm.

In Search for Jack: Beel is missing a playing card and you look for it together.

But the difference is quality

In search for Jack: you first assume Beel ate it. He assures you he didn't and you go look in the common room for it. Belphie comes along and offers you a solution of drawing the card but he cant draw. You eventually find the card amount the dirty dishes in the kitchen then Beel squishes the player because "he is too hungry to stand"

This story has a balance between plot and fanservice. It has genuinely funny moments. We learn that Belphie can't draw and its honestly one of my favorite DG stories. It shows Beel doing something other than asking for food and he has depth.

In Morning voice: Belphie bribes us with food so that he can record our voice for him to use as an alarm. We record some of us screaming and one of us talking sweetly to Belphie.

We are alone with Belphie in our room. There isn't much more to the story than what I stated above. Belphie is a tired oversleeping cow reduced to his sin. The "funny" options aren't that funny. I refuse to believe "The Lord of Emptiness" is just tired all the time and no personality underneath. Idk he bribes MC with food if you try to get out of it. It just feels lacking.

I get that writing in the second person POV is very limited especially when you don't try to put some characterization onto the reader. But also Otomes are never about the MC is about the Love Intrests and how much they love you. All the demon boyos(and angel Boyos) have so much potential and the overflow of event content makes you forget that super easily. Events can't make use of the main plot because spoilers and the fact that events are ment to be enjoyed no matter where you are in the story. I like that its keeping us fed while new story parts come out but idk I need to see the next part of the story before I make any judgements.

I think the Devs could be burnt out as well. We've gotten a lot of content event during a Hiatus. Maybe its time to let events repeat a few times some of us would be ecstatic to finally get those UR and SSR cards we couldn't get the first time round and I feel like our loyalty should be rewarded soon.

AN AU IDEA FOR OUR MUSES - i’ve said this before & i’ll say it again-- modern au for our kny muses would be so fun ! ! toshiro & akaza & hakuji being friends / graduates of the same year & hanging out even if they aren’t in the same class ? absolutely, i’d be down for that ! yui & sen would be in different years, but the idea of them hanging out in a modern verse is fun too. there’s also the pillar verse for akaza where he hangs out with toshiro ? at that point his life is such a mess that he’d absolutely need someone like toshiro around to stop him from just, Decomposing ( as difficult the process may be ). a modern au for ukyo & ryusui would be fun too-- like, in a world where the petrification never happened & they eventually met up somehow ( which i’m sure would happen / we could make happen ! it’s a very easy thing to do when ukyo has pretty good sonar / hearing skills & ryusui has enough money to take him anywhere he wants in the world in search for talet ) A SONG FOR OUR MUSES - i’m bad at songs so i’m using ones i know Best but just ! even if it hurts by sam tinnesz would be good for sen & yuichiro ? ignoring all the shippy like aspects it’s mostly the words " i'm not giving up / not gonna run / i'll be there when you need me / even if it hurts “ that sell me on it because ! ! the thought of sen spending time with yui & helping him through stuff & supporting him even when yui gets mean or strict with him is so soft ? it’s kind of sad since sen is used to dealing with someone who speaks down on him ( a blame that absolutely falls on shinjurou ) but he still wants to be friends with yui because he’s aware yui only means the best & can be nice / gentle in his own yui kind of way so just ! ! yeah that’s for them. as for ukyo & ryusui, i’d think everything good by ashes remain would be pretty good for them ! idk about ukyo’s perspective of things but ryusui really values his opinions ( along with senku’s & the rest but you get what i mean ! it’s slightly higher for ukyo since they’re more similar in age & in occupations though ). ryusui has a lot of confidence in himself & what he does, but he very much appreciates any input ukyo & the rest have on everything & anything he does-- though he usually doesn’t show it, even he has moments where he feels like he’s lost, so that’s why the words “ you are gravity /when I’m upside down / you help me find my way back to the ground / [ ... ] / you are my eyes / when I can’t see “ hit home so much for him ! DO I SHIP OUR MUSES ? - i’m ? a shipping trash, honestly. at this point we’ve been interacting with each other enough that i’d be down to shipping romantically any of my muses with yours ( as long as they’re Good ships & not dumb ones like sen & an adult muse bc that’s Trash ) so ! ! that’s completely up to you if you wanna plot anything on that ! otherwise ? i’d die for the sibling-like friendship between toshiro & senjurou, as well assenjurou & yuichirou because they both ? support him so much ? we haven’t talked much about sen & yui yet but we’ve talked Enough to make me emotional about how yui tries to get him to speak up more & how sen kind of looks up to him as a role model ( as Weird a choice it may be for a role model iunsjdcx ) & ! ! ! toshiro reminds him so much of his kyou, sen would absolutely mess up at least once & call him aniue / elder brother by mistake-- & not just bc he reminds him of kyou but just, he’s That much of an older brother figure / part of his family for him. he’d 100 % instantly apologise & be mortified by how embarrassed he was of letting that slip though ngl WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT THE MUN ? - i care chris with my entire heart ! ! i’d be talking with you lots more if i wasn’t such an awkward bean because as you can probably tell i sound so Awkward & formal during out discord talks bc i still don’t quite know what to talk / chat about that’ll let us chat in a daily-ish basis ( i say daily-ish bc i can be slow & it’s fine to not talk every day lmao ) but ! ! ! it always brightens my day to see you on the dash & to see posts you make be them ooc or otherwise & to read your writing because you’re an absolute sweetheart what the fuck ! ! ! it shouldn’t be allowed.
