7 Anti LO Asks

1. Do you know what really gets my blood boiling about this comic? Persephone and Demeter's relationship.

In the myths, Demeter and Persephone loved each other more than anything. Their reunion is so important - it marked the coming of spring and growth. A whole cult was dedicated to this for crying out loud. Yes, the myths were far from perfect, but the Persephone and Demeter myth showed the strength of a loving mother-daughter relationship with Demeter searching endlessly to find her child that was ripped away and had her innocence forcibly taken.

Now, RS is not the only author to make Demeter this over-bearing mother type in order to put more positivity onto the Hades-Persephone relationship. However, RS takes this trend to a whole new level - to the point where I would even consider it misogyny.

How is it, she takes this beautiful mother-daughter relationship and makes it out to be an abusive and controlling one, and then takes the Hades-Persephone relationship from a forceful one to a loving, perfect relationship with no problems? How is it ok to ruin one relationship to elevate another?

I understand that many versions of the myth try to downplay Hades' actions, and even make it so Persephone actually falls in love with him and there is no rape. But it doesn't change that this relationship was problematic, and meant to represent the loss of innocence.

Then fans have the gall to claim this comic is feminist and then claim on top of that that Demeter and Persephone's relationship was the same in the myth? These fans clearly don't know the myths, and neither does RS.

Making Hades a good person is fine. Changing it up a bit to make Persephone's loss of innocence something else is also fine. But ruining Demeter and Persephone's relationship? Especially when Persephone has to spend half the year with her? So horrible. 

2. im sorry, but rachel cant introduce KRONOS coming back and then dropping it for several episodes to focus on a stake-less trail and persephone not knowing what lingerie to seduce hades in. like thats too much of an earth shaking development and huge stake plot point to just ignore for months to focus instead on something as minor as hxp's relationship, which only points out a huge flaw: why is hxp's relationship so minor in this? isnt the whole point supposed to be about them?

3. I think LO completely dropped the ball over Hades’ characterization. 

From the first ep I thought ok, this is good, we have some bones to see he’s not that lucky in love and is just tired and lonely, and while ignoring the creepy actions towards Persephone, I thought ok, Artemis hates him, Hestia hates, even Ares hates him, maybe once Persephone finally sees the underworld and probably gets to know him it’ll be a clever twist and they’ll be proven wrong. The underworld will turn out to be fair and just, the citizens will love Hades, he’ll be revealed to be a good leader and king and not like his brothers, it’ll be like everyone saying Hades of myth isn’t actually that bad, and it’ll help reinforce why this sweet and bubbly Persephone wants him, she sees the real him, not the mean rumors and assumptions, this is perfect.

And then it just didn’t happen. The exact opposite happened, actually.

We’re shown the LO underworld is cruel and unjust, where the poor dead are forced into slavery and Hades created a harsh class divide with him and him only on top, the citizens hate him, the underworld gods don’t trust him and openly seem ok if he’s taken out of power, he’s not a good leader and king and doesn’t even want the job yet keeps it for his own ego and grip of power m, and on top of it all he is just like his brothers, if not worse. He loves to get violent over any little slight against him, he hoards wealth and resources to enrich himself while his citizens starve and struggle to survive, he’s corrupt, he controls all the media and laws to bend to his will, sleeps with his brothers wife for centuries behind his back while claiming to be holier than thou, he has sex with his secretaries who are made dependent on him for any way to survive, and now he lusts after his barely legal intern who is also now dependent on him for her way to survive, and that’s only what I remember off the top of my head.

LO perfectly set up to prove Hades isn’t the devil or the false pop culture assumption that he’s evil and to show some actual facts from myth, and yet Rachel only ended up reinforcing exactly that and even making him even worse with her made up ideas, all while thinking having Persephone ignore or excuse it somehow makes it not bad or even a good thing. It’s honestly kind of impressive just how bad of writing that actually is. 

4. Chapter 172 is not that interesting. It’s setup had me excited to see Hephaestus and Hera and learning more about echo, but it’s cut so short. Because again the story can’t leave HXP out for 2 seconds.

I can also see why Zeus is gonna go insane. 

5. i agree w/ other anon. LO should have pulled a PJO or a BoZ and just made up OCs and have them interact with the gods than whatever Rachel thinks shes doing, which is lying she's being accurate and faithful while completely changing all of it, removing what is needed, and adding what isnt so that it lines up with no actual myth besides like, various 50 shades fanfic she read in 2015 and some popular tumblr text posts.

6 . the animation studio behind blood of zeus literally can only draw one face for the men and one face for the women and they were still able to make the gods all look distinct and hot while LO can't even bother to use more than 6 colors and can only have the women look as tiny as possible with the biggest boobs while the men are all just lego men.

Okay so like I stopped reading LO way back before season 1 ended, and a majority of my knowledge of the series comes from what I read here on your blog which is enough for me lol and I decided to read the latest 5 chapters just to see what's up (on zahard. I refuse to give the actual series any views)

And I just. Could not take the whole scene with Daphne running from Apollo seriously? The anatomy and art inconsistency was so distracting that i genuinely could not find it serious. Even when Thanatos discovers her hibernated body I couldn't take it seriously because of how she looked?

And when Hades had that call (??? Was it a call? Or his inner dialogue? I couldn't really tell ngl) with Zeus and said he's causing Persephone unnecessary distress, and that she didn't pose any threat. B!tch??? She killed a ton of mortals??? She has no control over her powers???? She's literally a fugitive for the aforementioned things??? She apparently woke Kronos up? (Idk if anyone knows about that, again my knowledge only spans to whatever I read here) Hello????

And I have a lot to say about the chapters starting the trial but I'll only mention one thing; Hades saying "I don't think blindly supporting my little brother would be doing him any favours (as a ruler)" had me cackling. This is coming from a guy blindly supporting a girl he's literally only known for a few weeks, who's like what, only recently turned 20? Sit tf down Hades you're not cool, you creepy ass overgrown smurf.

Overall I still hate this series lmao. Regarding art though I feel like I wouldn't be so miffed about the anatomy much if the character designs were consistent and the story was compelling. They literally change hairstyles and body types frame by frame, and it's distracting.

The timeline from what I read here is laughable. 4 years in publication with almost 200 chapters and you're telling me only like a month has passed canonically. That's wild and such poor writing.

And as someone who literally will sympathise with any lead character pretty quickly, the story makes me hate them. It makes me want to root against them. I also hate the fact this trash is somehow top ranked on webtoons when so many other stories are far better then it.

Anyway, many thanks to this blog for existing and allowing me to dump so much text here to vent out my hate for this series lmao. You the mvp fam, hope you're having a good day 🥂🥂🥂

A rant abt RenAi

I was missing Zero that I wanted to re-read his scenes and saw vkm has alot more chapters since I last visited (I dunno why I was surprised it was like a year ago) but anyway, I chose random chapter to check out and BAM well hello there RenAi *sigh

My first response was 'of fucking couse you do' but I'm not surprised.

My second response was 'shes a girl??'

So then I checked out vkm tags I'm surprised that there are people who were in denial... Like I get it, YuMe isnt direct incest like RenAi and VK and even vkm kinda sunk that ship but like why are you surprised? Were y'all thinking that with YuMe sunk, sensei is implying that incest sucks in her universe? Cause YuMe didnt sunk in canon because it was incest but because kaname was too depresed and fucked up that he crossed the line and hurting yuuki, thats why he decided to 'stop' their relationship.

While checking tags, I read some from both sides... Aaaand....

1. I agree that people who cant enjoy vkm anymore should just stop reading. And like just delve into fanfics and fanart cuz like thats what they are for. But some people like to rant cuz thats what blogs are for. We just need to tag and block tags, man.

2. Saying ALL the ones who dislike or even disappointed abt RenAi is lesbianphobes... Nah hun, its the incest thats they have problem with, I dunno why this is hard, like alot of fans dont like YuMe for the very same reason even tho they're like ancestors apart lol.

3. While some are preetty clear that the reason they dont like it is because incest isnt their cup of tea, but Im seeing some post that is one slip away to purity culture and nuh uh, no just no. Look whatever, some people ship incest, some people dont, when you dont you just press that back button (and I know alot have done, which is fine and good). But for the love of God, I better not see 'incest is wrong' regarding renai's discourse. This is fucking fictional abt vampires! Dark vampires not fucking vegetarian vamps (tho I hesitate to call VK a dark manga.... Its more like a dark rose-colored one)

4. The stalking, creepy way of Ai's bla bla bla.... Like please, none of the vampires in vk are fucking saint. All of our charas are fucking disfungsional. They are not bad or evil, but none of them are good. Zeki even said it, Kaname did the same. And I know, VK has kaname abusive in the end, but *sigh Sensei story is of that tragic backstory caused this guy to fucked up his mind and vampire has instincts that cause these abuse. For the lack of better words Sensei in the story kinda excuse the abuse. I disagree but I didnt write the story so. And sensei has written a parallel of yume with zero ai, but resolved or handled in better way so really, I dont think they're going to go the same mistake as kaname made.

And full disclosure, I dont like RenAi, its not that they're girls, or incest. I have some incest... uh not ship I guess since I'm not invested in their relationship canon but I do enjoy incest fanfic or stories, from the dark toxic one to the pure but 'wrong' love. One example is Okumura Yukio/Rin, they are twins and are demons so really.. I'm not new to these dark themes... But honestly I'm just disappointed.

At first I thought is it because I hate YuMe? But then I remembered my problem with the last chapters of VK was Yuuki's lack of development not Yume, cause I did root for them until the after rido arc. And its mainly because Yuuki devolution that to me are in effect of putting kaname in focus. So in a way I hated YuMe for de-evolving my girl and just ended there without the rise of her character or something.

Honestly I dont think I'm the only one who think that vkm was a fix for that.I think thats why a lot of people are mad that the trio 'dissapear'.

If it isnt clear, its because some fans wanted to see some closures and the development for the charas that were rushed in vk. Until RenAi appeared, it hasnt finished yet, so these fans were miffed or pissed that sensei suddenly focused in RenAi when some charas havent even shown their faces. Dont get me wrong, the way vkm has been written has made me think that all development and closures are going to be written in pieces and disjointed from the start, so I personally dont have a problem but I can understand these fans.

Wait, I think I went on tangent.

Damn this ia long.... Sorry.

I think, bottomline RenAi ticked me off cause its like the de-evolution of yuuki all over again and the way RenAi plot is handled canonwise is not my cup of tea. Tho really VK has always been weak in plot, so we should man up and admit it, VK n VKm are character study stories.

Soooo Hiatus!!

Hey guys, remember that announcement I told you about? Well this is it.

Short version: I’m going on an hiatus till mid August (11th or 12th?). That’s a little less than a month. 

What does that  mean for the blog? It means that I won’t be posting any new fics till then. I won’t be answering asks like I do. BUT, there’ll be a queue running. If you really need me, drop me an IM. I’ll be sure to check it once every few days. Cool?

Ummmm well....I need a break. Physically, mentally. I just need to step back a little.

I don’t know how many of you know, but 2018 has SO NOT been my year. I’ve been very sick. VERY. Trust me, I don’t take that word lightly. Just in the last 2 weeks, I’ve lost 5 kgs (I think that’s what? 11 lbs?) and its still dropping. I am relatively better now. At this point, I can’t quit my job and sit at home, so I have to drag my ass to work everyday. By the time I get home, I can barely move an inch, let alone, write and keep up with the stress of posting on schedule.

Secondly, Tic Tac Toe, a series I spent a year and a half over has finally seen its end. I put my heart and soul into that series, planning every second of their lives in my head. The love I got for it has made me grow so much, really. I want to thank EVERYONE who’s had kind words for the series. Who read every freaking part and left feedback for it and asks. You know who you are! I am indebted to you, and will forever love you.

The past two weeks in bed would have been terrible without all those comments. Trust me, I have every comment, every ask learnt by- heart, I’ve read them so many times now. That being said, I don’t think I have to much heart and soul left after that series. The hangover is terrible, and I feel a little empty inside. I had been so consumed by that story, that I can’t move on from it. As a result, I’m struggling to write anything else. I miss that Sam. I miss that reader. I just want to take sometime to find the inspiration to write again, to write something else. 

For those of you curious about the orphanage, I found the kids. They are at another orphanage at the farthest end of the city, but its pretty cramped there, and not too good as far a living conditions go. I’m taking the management to court over it. It’s scaring the shit out of me. But I can’t not try and help.

For those worrying about why there is no light and electricity in my apartment, it’s not cause I’m broke. I make enough to look after myself. It’s not a luxurious life, but I don’t have to worry but splurging a little in mall or have to worry about bills and food. The electricity distribution board in the locality caught fire which caused all the problem and it is mostly solved now. Since I live in an apartment complex, no electricity by default means no water, cause it has to be pumped into an overhead tank. I’m fine, but also beyond humbled by the concern in my inbox. Y’all are actually blessings.Thank you for wanting to help me via my Ko-fi though. It’ll go into the court case for the kids. I make enough to help myself, but a legal battle requires way more than that. However, do remember that the ‘buy me a coffee’ is a choice, it is never a compulsion or obligation. So don’t worry.

For the Nonnie who asked about ABF, I met him on Thursday, after I joined back at work. I was a little miffed cause he didn’t say a word about me losing weight so suddenly, but then I realised that he never says a word even when I gain too much weight suddenly ;) It’s not about appearance for him. I am just glad he notices when I cut my hair (twice a year in April and October. It’s a tradition, don’t ask why XD) and if, once in a blue moon I apply eyeliner. He always has something nice to say.

December 2018 Blurbs

12/1/18 The final Chapter on 2018's book began with me checking out the sequel to Wreck It Ralph. And it was Near perfect in every way possible. What wasn't was my drive back and the snowstorm that laid waste to the road, never had driven in snow that bad until today. Honestly was shaking for nealry 20 miles. Luckilly came back in time to see Bama win in epic fashion. I may not like them but they are #1. UCF won as well hopeful they can make the jump. 12/2/18 Connor ended up picking up a new kitten, he and Amber named Nelson. Now I know how Peele felt in Keanu. That cat was adorable and so sweet to be around. Especially that poofball tail. Packers stink as usual to the point where McCarthy got fired during his postgame press conference. Bama, Clemson, and Oklahoma will batlle on the 29th to see who gets the chance to play in Santa Clara. Notre Dame will join them, this should be expanded by all counts. 12/3/18 Andrew has another job, this one late at night. Hoping he'll stick this out. Heisman this year went down to the 3 QB's from Bama, Oklahoma and Ohio State. Wonder how the finalst math is done to drop the number from 5 to 3. Gifts need to be sent out to Eric and Company soon. New Tree skirt looks hopefully ok. 12/4/18 Stuff can take the cake really quickly when it comes to life. Connor apparently has broken things off with Amber now his gut is killing him. Karma at its finest people. Other than that, I don't mind having to get called out to do carts what irks me is when someone like Cole, drops off so I'm completley alone out there. His weaseled out method just really iritates me more. Bowl Mercahndise looking rather dull this year, may save money along those lines. 12/5/18 Well, Connor may have gut problems like me. The real kicker is how incompitent our hospital is here, and how they were throwing in words like liver failure and appendix issues. Grabbed mounted photo which allowed me to finish wrapping the gifts to be sent out to Eric and them. Hopeful that Eli Like gummi Bears. Main gift hunting will begin next week. Do love Holiday seaons, and all that they entail. 12/6/18 The cat may be be cute, but Connor breaking, entering and placing him on me in the middle of the night. Nope. He, can really take the cake when it comes to not knowing how to amicably end a relationship. Rebought Hobbit and that gave me, Legos for the first time in 15 Years. Will only get the Target lego hobbit editons and that will be it. Survey for class is adjusted and will hopefully be done by weekends end. Seminar I still have to do, hoping Dad will give a hand with that. Looking forward to Mamoa on SNL. 12/7/18 Pearl Harbor, a tragic event that led to a worse movie. But on this day there should be a new atalige on when it rains it pours for the winter. I call it When it snows it bursts, cause we all had issues today. Bravada may have a frozen gear shift. Eric lost another girlfriend, Connor may be out of a job, and Andrew may actually be doing better than any of us for once. This is a burst of bad luck. 12/8/18 A day that i had originally set out to do nothing now had me doing even less, thanks to the Bum gear shift. Not sure how we can fix that, other vehicle still waits in the wings. Watched more SpongeBob then i had in a long time wow I missed a bunch. Could really use some good in these next few days. 12/9/18 Packers finally won, just need miracles to happen in order to squeak into wild card. Vehicles e break lite may give me clue in order to fix it. Winter and Christmas need to show up quicker cause it certainly doesnt feel like it especially not around here. 12/10/18 Early night when it came to the back. Used VTO to leave early, stinks i lost a day but at least i caught up on stuff. 12/11/18 Bravada i bought finally became mine with licence plates. Saving insurance for after Christmas. Store had less on today which made the work at least plenteful. But the group with the exception of me and 2 others all left at 9:50 as we got left with the bulk of the cleanup. Not cool in the slightest. 12/12/18 First day with Bravada, not a bad go of things. Penultimate class, surprisingly am at an A hoping i can get this done within the next week. Contingency plan needed for tomorrow, will see SpiderMan on Saturday and hold off on Aquaman until after Christmas. 12/13/18 Nice to find out i can still tack miles on my feet. Will need to do that again soon. Packages got sent including book for retun. Retuned a bunch of stuff for gift stipened, hoping dad likes revenant more than hacksaw ridge. South Park finale made no sense. 12/14/18 Saving spiderverse for sunday, mainly so i can get rid off stuff at BAM, more cash more presents. Will still read Mortal Engines even though movie looks lousy. A lot of ties on countdown, and just discovered a couple i overlooked. Binging Bob's Burgers like crazy. Man that show is a lot better than i gave it credit for. Busted truck is gone from parking lot, didn't expect to have to have management nearly call cops on stolen vehicle though. 12/15/18 Day from hell is an understatement. Eric getting arested, Im working on stuff and Andrew seemed to not know when to keep his mouth shut. Bowl games starting today brought only form of relief. 12/16/18 Better day, Animated Spiderman was something to behold. Got bulk of christmas shopping out of the way. Bravada held up just wished i could get it back fully. Packers got knocked out of postseason. Just hope we can win one more, at least chances are good. Smash Bros Ultimate is awesome. 12/17/18 Mom's gift now safley wrapped. Football continues and the Saints better be hoping they stop stinkin things up. 12/18/18 Cap 2 was down to 4 with a mysterious virus going round. As everyone left by 6, i managed to get out early. Just hoping this doesnt come back to bite me in the butt. Hoping to wrap up gifts by Friday, Aquaman on Saturday may be possibile. Glad thats in town at least. Also did annual watch of Haruhi Suzumiya movie, how come they can't make a movie that long in America. Stinks it has to be shorter than 2 for animated. 12/19/18 Last Class, thankfully was short and sweet. Walked out in good mood after making thank you card. Just curious to know when i may get funds, cause have to take 2 classes otherwise just to get scholarship. Rose Bowl shirt looks great. Will finish gift wrapping by friday at least. 12/20/18 I dont know why but it just doesnt feel like christmas this year. Snow almost gone, skies are dreary and whatever mood were in around here just keeps going up. Better Days by Goo Goo Dolls seems more and more perfect in telling the moood were in right now. Hoping for a few good days, free christmas dinner at store tommorow should lift funk. 12/21/18 The mood certainly is festive store wise. Finished grabbing gifts. Wil be hoping they like them. 12/22/18 Down to the single digits in days left of 2018, one goal of mine i wished i picked up more on was the sign language aspect. Will be putting that back on the 2019 docket. Store for a few more days. Just hoped to go watch Aquaman thanks to VTO but based on what i got coming, better to hold off on that. 12/23/18 Penultimate truck of 2018, thankfully got that done by 10, finally got tree from mountain, bulbs i picked up worked brillantly. Hard to belive it all ends in a week. Good year overall. 12/24/18 Short 4 hours with only Chris and Cheyenne. Best store day of the year in which we turn off all lights and tell people who come in to leave. Cole on the other hand, once again, i got drugged out to fix his mess. Not pleasent. What was was prime rib and quiet dinner with family before i gave them gifts. Poofball hat idea worked on all but Dad may have to return his. Looking forward to nba on christmas day. Wonderful life and Polar Express double feature to round things out. 12/25/18 Linus from peanuts says it all. With angellic hosts proclaim christ is born in bethlehem. 12/26/18 Amazing how one day in total silence with family can turn into one explosive return to reality. All for the best 5 days of the year i suppose. Aquaman movie ended up being pretty great, never figured Julie Andrews would play a squid. Badgers Bowl game tomorrow then final day of work for year on friday. Just hopin i can get final blog posted on monday before library closes. Year is rapidly closing fast. Also 2nd Charlie Brown Christmas special sucks, a little bit much on the meaning of the season and not on what made the first special great all around. 12/27/18 Rain filled the day, a lot of water that may turn whatever snow we have into ice. Badgers won in Yankee Stadium and tomorrow is Walmart 2018 finale for me. Just wish i didn't have a week off after that, but i can make do with micro paycheck for a bit. Already trying to figure 2019 Goals, dont know whether to up it or lower it. Found Attack on Titan Season 3 on Digital. Yeah gonna be good tv this weekend. 12/28/18 The 2018 Season finale at Wallyworld. Epicly enjoyable. Just miffed that  have a week off with little to no Coverage coming in. May seek alternative option. Truck tire thankfully got fixed but other issue may now have arisen. Bad luck streak wrapping this year up strong isn't it? 12/29/18 Another college football playoff another Bama Clemson beatdown. At least Kyler and Oklahoma actually put up a fight. Not sure what movie to see tomorrow. Possibly saving Bumblebee for next week, or VICE. 12/30/18 Entry 364 and on this penultimate day, I chose to go see the Mary Poppins sequel. Oh man it was charming. The welcome balance of modern with slight hat tips to what came before. Packers embarrassingly concluded thier season. Orville came back on tonight and that was equally good, a bunch of side plots that somehow all culminated in one odd ritual where Bortus took a dump, and it was good. Looking forward to adding that on DVR. 5 Packages to send out tomorrow, not sure what i'll be doing when ball drops. 12/31/18 Bye Bye Yesterday...The culmination of 365 Days of life, and as we conclude 2018 I think, there was so much more I could have gotten done. 2 Weddings, A Super Bowl visit, watching Connor finish school, buying my first vehicle, nearly seeing a sporting event, and a prmomotion at wally world. So much more I could have squeezed in. Finished today up with helping dad with bread, and  he made chili, hoping that that wont make us all sick as hes been these last few days. As for this journaling buiness.  I may look into continuing this come 2019. After all that is now as i have put it the year of the endgame.  Definetly would want to chronicle that. Though maybe i'll go the Your Name Route and download an app to chronicle that for my Phone and Ipad. Here's to you 2018, now as Thanos snaps at 11:53 you'll crumble to dust and fade away in our minds and hearts. Its time for the next chapter, and im ready...To Be hopefully continued.
