Anyway. Hello, Tumblr 🥹 It's been a while (again). I have a lot of thoughts on Twitter's X revamp, but the gist is that I'm going through a little ~migration~ process atm and trying to ween myself off Twitter entirely (so I can be more active again here) 😭

It's not an easy decision to make, but unless things get better on Twitter, I feel like going back here and making this my main platform again is something that needs to be done.

So if you're a fan of my work here on Tumblr, I'd like to ask for a little favor.

One of the reasons I've been hesitant to go back to this site is because my engagements here (and elsewhere) just aren't the same compared to the bird app. If I post something on Twitter, I'd get 200 to 500 likes on average (and that's within the span of 5 days).

Here, I'd be lucky to get 30 in a month.

I know that engagements aren't the end-all and be-all of making fanwork, but realistically speaking, when you work on something for days and pour your heart into it, it can be pretty demotivating to see it flopping 😞

So the favor I'd like to ask you guys is this! Reblogging. That's it. :')

For new Tumblr users, this site doesn't have an algorithm, and the only way things spread around here is through reblogs.

Unlike Twitter, likes, unfortunately, don't do anything here 😞 And with only likes and no reblogs, a post on Tumblr dies out and remains in obscurity—unless people start reblogging it.

So yes! I hope it's not too much to ask, but reblogs will help a lot—even if it's old posts from years ago, I really don't mind (and in fact appreciate that you like my stuff enough to go through them 🥺 I see some of you guys in the notifs, thank you so much 🥹🙏🏽)

A huge reason as to why I stayed on Twitter for so long and (preferred it over Tumblr) was because people talked to me frequently there. I made friends and connections, exchanged headcanons with people, and gushed about my love for Jeanpiku freely. So if I'm able to interact with you guys here, I would honestly love that! (especially since it's getting kind of lonely shipping a small ship like Jeanpiku 😭).

I'm sorry I was away for so long—I checked my last post here and it was made at the start of september, so it's been a hot minute. things were very hard back then, and admittedly that issue with the anon discouraged me a bit from coming back here 😞

I think I'll be turning anon off for the time being, or perhaps permanently, so I'm really sorry to the nice folks who've been sending me their jeanpiku headcanons :( if you want to keep sending them, please know that I don't bite and you don't have to be awkward around me! I always appreciate all of you, especially the ones who have been so supportive of my work :< you guys mean a lot.

as for my health, things are looking a lot better now since the last time I posted here. I'm back on medication and the donations you guys sent over was a huge help. thank you for that 🥹💜 I've gone to a neurologist as well and I'm scheduled to get an MRI in a few months, so wish me luck 😭

So today I made myself sad by imagining a Jeanpiku x Your Lie in April AU 🫠

Anyway, I really love this show's OST. I haven't played this in more than a year so I kinda surprised myself today 🥹 The audio's a little wonky, but have at it anyway, heh.

AU stuff below the cut!

I've been thinking about it as a slightly altered college AU—neither Jean nor Pieck major in music, but both of them are musically inclined and meet because of it. Jean comes across Pieck randomly playing the melodica somewhere in campus, gets curious, and starts talking to her. Along the way, Pieck finds out that Jean's a former piano prodigy who quit because of a traumatic event (I assume Marco's death).

Eventually they end up falling in love...but it ends the same way as YLIA does 🥲

I've kinda been wanting to write something angsty like this, but also I have 10,000 other WIPs to work on (plus OOML 12) so 😭 Idk, maybe one day, but not any time soon 😭

my ship is essentially a crackship. I've always known that.

jeanpiku mostly happened because of the hype around the 137 leaks—when people saw jean carrying pieck around in the battle of heaven and earth—and everyone started coming up with what-if scenarios: the way that their personalities complemented each other's, the potential enemies to lovers dynamic, how they both have certain physical traits that the other person is into: the long black hair for jean, and the goatee for pieck.

now that the final is fast approaching, though, it's dawning on me now more than ever that my ship isn't real. the scenes are probably going to last a few seconds tops. maybe a minute if I'm lucky.

I know it's not supposed to matter. I make art and write stories of this ship and that's how it becomes real. but I don't know. it hurts a lot to think about. most likely, in the final, we'll see them end up with other people; that hurts to think about, too.

sorry, I'm not really sure why I'm getting emotional over this. I think it's also because the other day, I made that "official" art of them together, and I suddenly realized that the reason I did that is because we're probably never gonna get art like that from official sources, either. and why would we, you know? it's a few panels of them in the manga. there's close to zero interest in it now. if you go to the latest tab under the ship tag on twitter or tumblr, it's all just me and maybe two other people, and our engagements are only getting lower and lower. I miss the days when we were bigger and louder.

it's no one's fault—it just happens and people lose interest, or step away for their own personal reasons (also valid), but I can't help but feel bad about that sometimes either way.

anyway, sorry. idk what's gotten into me today. I was writing the whole day yesterday and suddenly I'm met with this, idk, sadness about it. I love jeanpiku but it's a difficult ship to love. sometimes I can't wait to get over it already and ship something else that doesn't hurt as much.
