Shadowhunters AU! Fairy Tail Headcanons!

- Gray and Natsu are parabatai.  Absolutely nobody knows how, when, or why it happened, as they bicker constantly, but it did.  

- Lucy comes from a long line of Shadowhunters that is known for its wealth and power in Idris - a family that is well-disliked among other families.

- Mavis is the Consul.  Makarov is the Inquisitor.

- Sting is the head of the Crocus Institute and no one’s really sure on how it happened because he is constantly breaking the Law - without meaning to.  

- Laxus heads the Magnolia Institute.  

- Erza and her parabatai Jellal are two of the most well-known Shadowhunters of their generation due to the fact that Jellal committed unforgivable crimes under the possession of a demon. 

- Igneel is the High Warlock of Fiore.  

- Rogue is in a constant panic about his parabatai because Sting is constantly taking pointless risks that nearly get all of them killed.

- The Silent Brothers and the Iron Sisters consist of the Celestial Spirits.  

- Lucy was sent to the Magnolia Institute to be taught by the older Shadowhunters that live there.  On her first day, she got lost and found herself in the library, where Levy had been studying a demon language.  They clicked and within a month, they’d agreed to be parabatai.

- The Hargeon Institute is known for being filled with Shadowhunters of other countries.  

- Cana is half-faerie.  Gildarts came across a Lady of the Seelie Court and voila.  

- Mirajane is the tutor of the Magnolia Institute.  

- Levy is well-known for being knowledgeable on almost any language and is often times brought in when demon languages are concerned.

- Gajeel and Juvia are parabatai who broke the Accords.  Due to their cooperation, they were let off "lightly” and banished from Idris.  They eventually settle in the Magnolia Institute.  

- Natsu is known for his knowledge of Marks that allow him to start fires.  It pisses Laxus off beyond belief, but he can’t figure out how to stop him.

- Gildarts is a Shadowhunter who was tricked into becoming a member of the Wild Hunt after pissing off the Lady he had Cana with.  He breaks their rules on occasion to visit his daughter.  

- Lucy is often times dragged onto missions with Natsu and Gray.  It terrifies Levy, who often times - with Juvia’s help - insists that Gajeel help them find the trio of troublemakers.  

- Erza is a major follower of the Law.  However, when something she dubs unjust occurs, she works furiously against it.  

- Tartaros are the Greater Demons.

- Zeref is a Shadowhunter that was banished for murdering and experimenting on other Shadowhunters.  He struck up residence in the Alvarez Empire and took over through force.

- Natsu has no idea that Zeref is his brother.  He is under the impression that he, like most of the others he grew up with, is an orphan who has no living blood-relatives.  When he finds out, he declares that Zeref is not his family and that his family is those in the Magnolia Institute. 

- Leo was the Silent Brother summoned to tend to Layla Heartfilia upon her death bed.  He feels he owes Lucy because he couldn’t save her mother.

- The Spriggans make up the Clave of the Alvarez Empire and outside of Zeref, are the twelve most powerful Shadowhunters in their country.  

- Zeref and Mavis were parabatai before Zeref began to lose his mind.  When he asked her to join him, she refused and instead informed their people of his plans.  For her actions, when the previous Consul stepped down, she was asked to replace him and agreed.  She is good friends with Makarov.

- The Magnolia and Crocus Institutes are famous for their immortal cats.  

- Natsu was raised by Igneel and neither knew of his being a Shadowhunter until Igneel realized he could see the Shadow World without help.  Knowing he would be accused of breaking the Accords, Igneel contacted Mavis in private, and between she and Makarov, they managed to create a story that allowed Igneel to escape punishment.  Natsu was sworn to secrecy and the only two who know of this are Gray and later Lucy, who questions his good relationship with the High Warlock of Fiore.  

- Jude Heartfilia is eventually murdered by Brandish while on a mission in Alvarez.

- Despite being a major follower of the Law, Erza breaks it when she and Jellal fall in love.  The residents of the Magnolia Institute all know about it.  Fiercely loyal to their family, however, no one brings it up.  

- Lucy unknowingly possesses a golden key that holds the spirit of an angel that Layla summoned.

- After a war that destroys everything, Mavis becomes a spirit that protects the Magnolia Institute.  Erza is asked to take her place as Consul.  Jellal is offered the role of Inquisitor when Makarov retires, but declines, and the position is instead given to Yukino.  

- A group of rogue Shadowhunters known as Phantom Lord kidnapped Lucy for ransom once.  Natsu, Levy, and Gray made sure they regretted it. Gajeel and Juvia, previously members, are denied clearance to help, but go anyways.  Erza and Jellal are sent to take them back but end up dragged into the mess when a Greater Demon known as Jackal is summoned and wreaks havoc.
