Word Count: 2618 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Clarke putting you in charge of Murphy when they find him, all beat up and half dead, but he ends up taking care of her in the end.
—————————————————————————————————
When the others came back to camp without John, you knew what it meant.
It was a death sentence, even if Bellamy and Clarke wouldn’t admit it to themselves. If the grounders didn’t kill him, which was a big enough if, exposure and dehydration would have.
There was no way around that.
Even if you wanted to find one, eventually you had to come to terms with the fact that he couldn't have survived all on his own out there.
You were sure of that much.
Though, just when you had begun to process the fact that you had to live in this camp, alongside everyone who’d had a part in his death, this new world found a way to prove you wrong.
“What is going on?” you asked, finding it hard not to be irritated already.
It was bad enough you had to carry the slack of the others dropping the ball with their chores, but now you had to help Clarke, of all things.
Which, naturally, wasn’t ideal.
Just because everyone else had moved past John’s banishment already didn’t mean you were going to do the same. You knew that what they had done that day wasn’t right and you weren’t about to pretend otherwise.
It wasn’t fair.
Still, you didn’t want to hear about neglecting your responsibilities and not doing your part again, so you showed up anyway.
It wasn’t like there was anything else better for you to be doing, anyway.
“Didn’t you hear the trip wire?” Bellamy questioned, as soon as you made yourself known. It was a mystery to him how you managed to be so nonchalant about everything, but he’d gotten over asking after all this time.
You wouldn’t tell him even if he did.
You nodded, recalling the sound and the chaos that followed outside your tent but you didn’t think too much of it. Around here, a falling pine cone was liable to get the same reaction from most of the hundred.
It made you miss Murphy that much more.
He was one of the only things about this place that you found tolerable, and now, there was nothing.
Nothing, of course, except for the high alert you’d grown used to in camp, with everyone convinced there were grounders abound, getting ready to ambush you in the dark.
“Well, it wasn’t a grounder out there” he allowed, finally giving you some room.
You had no idea what that meant, or why they needed you, but that didn’t stop you from stepping up into the dropship, searching for anything that would clue you in on what was so bad they needed you.
Usually, they just left you alone.
Everyone left you alone, because after everything with Murphy, they didn’t know what to say. Though, to be fair, there wasn’t anything to say, or do, that would make it any better.
He was gone and they couldn’t bring him back.
…at least, not that you knew.
You couldn’t help but rethink that after entering the dropship to find Clarke knelt down over another, against the wall farthest from you.
It didn’t make sense.
In your head, you knew that he was dead. That there was no way he could have possibly survived out there on his own, but it was hard to argue with what you were seeing.
The boogeyman out in the darkness wasn’t some terrible monster or an army waiting to slaughter you all in your sleep.
It was Murphy.
Barely alive, but alive nonetheless.
“Shit” you barely let out, trying to keep your lungs from physically imploding in your chest. You knew you should have come up with something better, and more eloquent, but that was all you had.
What more was there to say, really?
You thought he was dead.
In fact you were sure of it, until right now.
“What happened to him?” you sighed, once the reality of the situation actually kicked in. You had never seen the man in question in worse shape, and that wasn’t from a lack of trying.
He’d gotten into his fair share of scrapes, even before being locked up on the Ark, but this was a different level.
The grounders tortured him.
Nearly killed him and then just opened the door and let him out.
You couldn’t believe it.
This whole time, you thought that he had died but the reality was so much worse than that. Considering the state he was in, even the most brutal death out there would have been kinder.
Anything would have been kinder.
“The grounders captured him, after-” Clarke started, but you couldn't help but interrupt her, finding it so incredibly typical that she would react the way she was now.
Like this whole thing wasn’t partially her fault.
Like all his blood wasn’t on her hands, just as much as Bellamy.
“-After you left him to die in the woods”
There was no love lost between you and the blonde, that was true, but this went far beyond some tiffs about who was in charge and who made the decisions.
This was about John’s life, which she had taken into her own hands over some little girl that none of you even knew all that well before she committed a murder.
It was a hell of a lot bigger than a disagreement over leadership.
It was about loyalty, and love.
Two things she couldn't have ever hoped to understand.
“We just need someone to look after him” she hummed, having given up on the task ahead of her. Clarke was already aware that there was nothing she could do to convince you that they had made the right call.
That didn’t make it the wrong one. It just made it hard for you to accept, but that wasn’t why you were here.
Clarke believed Murphy’s story.
The only trouble was that she couldn’t bring herself to trust him, or to really care what happened to him.
So, she found the only person in camp who did.
You.
It was unavoidable.
To most everyone in the camp, John Murphy was lower than scum but for some reason, you didn’t seem to get the memo.
You cared about him, and as annoying as it was, it was going to serve her well today.
Clarke had things to do, things that she had to be the one to do, and that meant that she couldn't just sit around and babysit him until he was well enough to be helpful.
You, however, could.
Most of the time you were packing rations or cleaning guns, jobs that anyone could have done and would. They wouldn’t miss you for a couple of days, while you were focused on something else.
Besides, it wasn’t like anyone would argue over it. No one else wanted to put up with Murphy in good spirits, let alone Murphy when he was sick and wounded.
“Let me get this straight, you want me to babysit him until he’s useful, just so you can throw him back out there again? Knowing what they did to him the first time?” you clarified, your eyes just barely flicking to the man you loved before landing on her again.
They had to be kidding.
It was bad enough they had taken him from you once, but now they wanted to do it again? And not only that, they wanted you to help this time.
It was a joke.
It had to be.
“Once he heals, we’ll find out what he knows, then he’s gone” Bellamy confirmed, not caring all that much for the way you were treating the blonde. He understood that you cared about Murphy.
That just didn’t mean anything here.
It couldn’t.
The words stung to hear, but they didn’t surprise you. From the moment you saw him, you knew better than to assume he’d remain within these walls for long, even given the miserable state of him.
They had banished him the first time and you weren’t about to put it past Clarke or Bellamy to kick him out again.
It was a miracle they’d even let him in at all.
Given the history he shared with most of the members of this camp, you half expected them to leave him to die, right outside the walls of the camp.
…but Clarke had made a different call.
It was like Bellamy said, they believed what he’d told Clarke about the grounders, and that he may have some valuable information to share once he got better.
At the very least, it was keeping him alive.
For now.
~
“You need to sleep”
John’s voice echoing slightly around the dropship startled you, but that was mostly because he’d been sleeping for the past sixteen hours.
You didn’t even know he realized you were here.
“No, that’s your job” you hummed, immediately rushing to get a clean rag from the bucket, the cool water stained pink with all the blood you’d had to wash from his skin earlier.
It ran over your fingers and trickled back into the basin below, electing a gentle sigh from you that you were quick to cover up.
You hadn’t slept in who knows how long, but it didn’t matter.
All you cared about was making sure John stayed not-dead.
Besides, you were almost positive that you couldn’t have slept if you tried. There was just too much on your mind.
This whole thing, all of it, was just so hard to believe.
You couldn’t believe that you were here, or that John was alive, or that any of this was really happening.
It just didn’t feel real.
Still, that didn’t change the fact that every time you opened your eyes, you found yourself still on the ground, and every time you had blinked since he’d gotten back, your heart shattered that much more.
In your head, it was like he was still dead.
Like his side of your bed was cold and empty, and he was never coming back.
“I’m serious. When’s the last time you went outside?” Murphy asked, gesturing to the mouth of the dropship with about as much strength as he could muster.
The grounders had really done a number on him and considering everything you had done to help him so far, it almost seemed like he was getting worse.
You didn’t know what to do, but like always, he didn’t care.
He didn’t care about anything more than what you were doing and when you had taken care of yourself last.
It was almost a joke.
He’d been a ghost this whole time, and now that he was back, all he cared about was making sure you slept, and got some fresh air.
The idea nearly made you laugh, and maybe it would have, if you hadn’t been on the verge of total exhaustion.
“Don’t worry about that. All you need to worry about is getting better” you countered, pressing the cool cloth to his forehead.
It was going to take him quite a while to heal completely after the beating the grounders had given him, but at least he was cleaned up now.
You just hoped the cough he’d developed would clear up soon.
Not that you had much time to worry about that before John made up his own mind. If you weren’t going to take a break on your own, he was just going to have to make you.
There was no way around it.
“Where are you going?” you asked, watching as the man you loved forced his weak frame up from his hammock and stood. While it was possible he was no longer tired, that didn’t mean he needed to be up.
He definitely couldn’t go walking around.
If Clarke and Bellamy caught wind of John getting better, they would force him out again and you just weren’t ready for that.
You weren’t ready to lose him again so soon, and you weren’t ready to face what would happen if you did.
“You need to get some rest, so either you go back to your tent on your own or I’ll drag you out myself” the male threatened, bringing a small smile to your face as you considered how that would go.
John would have had a hell of a time dragging you anywhere normally, led alone in the state he was in but rather than call his bluff, you sighed.
Knowing him, Murphy would manage to find a way if you doubted him.
“Okay, but you can’t go anywhere. You have to promise” you decided, looking him in the eye. Even if it didn’t seem reasonable to you, you knew that Murphy would find a way to prove you wrong if you doubted him.
…and the last thing he needed was to do more damage to himself by being stubborn.
I’m not going anywhere. I’ll sleep here” you suggested, not willing to leave his side quite yet. You were terrified, still, that something awful was going to happen if you didn’t keep an eye on him.
He’d slipped through your fingers once before, and you wouldn't trust it wouldn’t happen again.
Murphy huffed, in that definitant kind of way that he often did but you didn’t pay him any mind. He wasn’t in any position to make demands, but you would be lying if you said you weren’t tired.
Taking care of him, in his state, was a full time job and it wasn’t getting any easier.
“Fine, lay down” he all but ordered, sure that if you didn’t do as he asked right now, you would find some kind of excuse to be up and about.
Sometimes, it was almost like you thought the world would fall off its axis if you ever took a break.
Of course, at his prompting, you let out a similar huff to the one he’d let out previously but just as you’d done, John ignored it.
All you needed to do was rest.
You didn’t like the idea of taking his bed, given the circumstances, but clearly, Murphy wasn’t asking. He wasn’t addressing you in the way that meant you had a choice in the matter, no matter how hard you tried.
“Everything is going to be fine. I’ll be right here when you wake up” John assured, closing the space between the two of you and taking your hands in his own.
He knew you were afraid of all this, and worried about him, but you just had to trust him on this.
You had to know he’d protect you so that you could rest for a while.
“Okay? I’m not going anywhere” Murphy promised, gingerly helping you get adjusted into the hammock below you and pressing a small kiss to your forehead.
Then, once he was convinced that you were settled, the male in question slid his back against the wall opposite you until he found his own place to rest against the floor.
In all honesty, this would be good for both of you.
He had been in that stupid hammock for hours, and if he stayed in it much longer, he wasn’t sure he’d ever get out of it again.
You, however, could certainly use a break from being on your feet. Murphy was almost sure that you hadn’t even sat down in that past ten hours.
You weren’t ready to close your eyes, by any means, but rather than argue with the man in front of you, you forced an exhausted sigh from your lungs and closed your eyes.
All you hoped was that he was telling the truth and that John would still be there when you opened them again.
You didn’t want to lose him.
Not again.

John’s POV
The world ended again and I was stuck in space. Again. Worst part was that my little sister was stuck on earth. I hated that I left her there, I promised her I’d be back. I needed to get back to her, just to make sure she was okay. She was so innocent for this world and I promised I’d protect her. I ended up distancing myself from the others. I couldn’t take it. I was driving myself mad. But I think most people would when you’re stuck in space for six years. I stuck to myself, on the other side of the ship. So when I saw Bellamy coming by I grabbed him from behind, making him drop whatever he was holding.
“This is my side of the ship, remember? What’s the matter? You wanted me to train, right? So, let’s do it.” I said and he backed me against the wall. Hard. I let go of him and turned to face me.
“Alright, but if I win, you come back to the group.” He said.
“No deal.” I said shaking my head.
“You have too many rules. Besides, there’s no one to disappoint over here.” I said getting up.
“Murphy-” Bellamy started, but I cut him off with a punch.
“That’s a good punch.” He said.
“Yeah?” I said with a smirk.
“Now, if you shift your weight when you throw it, might actually hurt.” He said pulling up his sleeves.
“You know what I think your problem is?” He asked.
“This should be good.” I said.
“You like being a hero. Except up here, there are no heroes.” He said and walked behind me.
“You’re afraid you’d become worthless again.” He finished and I swung at him again, but he dodged. He managed to pin me against the window and I couldn’t get out.
“You’re not worthless, Murphy.” He said.
“Wait, wait. Bellamy, look.” I said, noticing something out the window. He bent my arm behind my back and I groaned.
“Say you’re not worthless and I’ll let you go.” He said.
“I’m not kidding! Will you look? Look!” I said and he looked outside. There was a ship and it was going to Earth. He let go of me and pulled me up.
“Let’s go.” He said walking away.
“Come on.” He said and I followed him. Would I finally be able to see my sister again? We were going to the ship. We were gonna get supplies. Fule. We were going back to Earth. It was a rough landing, but we made it to the ship. We did it. We’re able to go to the ground again. But first they wanted to know who these people were. They caught someone. Not enough details to tell who they had, but my heart clenched. There was a possibility that they had Y/N. We got down to Earth after a bit of trouble, but we were back. Bellamy managed to convince the prisoners to help us open the bunker. Turns out they haven’t left yet. Y/N was still safe underground, hopefully. When they opened it and helped everyone out I got to see my sister once again. Something was off about her. She didn’t have her usual smile, or that innocent gleam in her eyes anymore.
“Y/N!” I shouted and gathered her in my arms. She was safe. She hugged me back, but it wasn’t the same warm hug she usually gave me. This one felt cold.
“You’re alright.” I whispered and she pulled away.
“I’m fine, John.” She said and I furrowed my brow. She hasn’t called me John in forever.
“What happened to you? You’re not the same.” I said and she rolled her eyes.
“I did what I needed to survive.” She said and I looked over at Octavia, she had really changed, leader of Wonkru as she called them.
“I’m sorry…” I whispered and she shrugged.
“Nothing to be sorry for, you can’t protect me forever. Now you don’t have to.” She said and turned to go back to Octavia. What the hell happened to my sweet little sister? What happened to the girl I was so desperately trying to protect? I was a failure. That girl was gone and now all that was left is whoever this is.

13 Days of Halloween 2021
John Murphy x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 2422 words
Warnings: just some soft!Murphy fall content
Summary: The reader goes missing from camp so John goes to search and finds her about as far from danger as could be.
—————————————————————————————————
Murphy had never been so panicked.
You had one job.
All you had to do was stay within the walls of the camp, where he knew that you’d be safe when he was out. Though, evidently that was too much for you because he just got back and you were nowhere to be found.
Not that your being gone was even the worst part.
The worst part was that none of the idiots he asked about where you could have gone knew anything.
All they could tell him was that you hadn’t been around and they hadn’t seen you.
By all accounts, you could have been dead out in the woods somewhere and not one of them would have noticed.
Except for him, of course.
Murphy always knew where you were or what you were doing, because whether you realized it or not, you were important to him.
You were one of the only people on the planet that actually mattered as far as he was concerned.
“So, nobody saw her? Anywhere?” he clarified, though the edge in his voice made it abundantly clear to the surrounding members of the camp that he wasn’t actually asking. He already knew the answer to his question.
Of course they didn’t.
Sometimes he felt like the only person around here that even recognized that you existed, and perhaps that was because he basically was. You kept to yourself too much to make a lasting impression on the others.
In fact, most of them only knew you because Murphy was always looking for you or talking about and to you.
If it hadn’t been for him, the rest of the hundred may have never noticed your absence.
Which wasn’t okay with him, because no matter what the rest of these chuckleheads thought, you were one of the best among them.
...and eventually, they were going to notice.
“You know what? Forget it. I’ll find her myself” he decided, giving up on the rest of them without much more consideration. It had been stupid to go to any of them in the first place, when he could have been out there this whole time.
Who knows what kind of trouble you could have gotten into?
None of you was familiar enough with what was out there to be going out on your own, and as if the threat of you being poisoned by some strange plant or attacked by an animal wasn’t enough, the grounders were out there too.
If you wandered into the wrong place, they would kill you without so much as a second thought.
The thought of that was more than enough to put a pep in the male’s step as he headed out into the woods beyond the camp, with his pocketknife and a small pack of emergency medical in hand.
No matter what you’d gotten into, he would get you out of it.
Assuming that he still could.
He had only been on patrol with Bellamy and a few others for a couple of hours and you couldn’t have gotten that far in such a short period of time. If he started walking now, he just had to hope he’d run into you.
It wasn’t like he had much more of a choice.
The last thing Murphy would ever do was leave you out there by yourself. Given the unpredictability of this still unfamiliar land and the potential dangers, it could take you days to find your way back.
If you ever did.
From where he was sitting, it was hard for Murphy to not panic even more, fearing the worst. If he didn’t find you, there was no guarantee he’d ever see you again.
“Y/N? Are you out there?” he called every so often, promising himself that when he did manage to track you down, he’d never let you leave his side again.
This place was dangerous and you couldn’t just wander off whenever you wanted to.
Unless you wanted to get yourself killed, that was.
You didn’t have any experience with anything like this, and while Murphy technically didn’t either, at least he could fight for himself if he had to.
He was no stranger to confrontation and he didn’t have a problem making enemies. The two of you were very different in that way, and he shuddered to think about what could happen if you ran into someone out here alone.
There was no telling what could happen.
Thankfully, before anything absolutely awful could happen, he managed to find you.
Though, you weren't in some dire life threatening position like he’d previously feared. You weren’t bleeding out in the middle of a field or being held hostage by one of the grounder camps.
You were just sitting there.
Like nothing was wrong.
Like you hadn’t nearly given him an aneurysm this morning.
“Where were you? I came back from patrol and you were gone” he started, calling out to your seated frame without so much as a second thought.
You had really freaked him out this morning and he wanted to know why.
What could have been so important that you had to nearly give him a heart attack?
Pumpkins.
By the time John made his way over to where you were sitting, he found you surrounded entirely by all manners of pumpkins, which he’d never seen before in his life.
Sure, he knew what they were, but that didn’t mean he had ever had the privilege of seeing one up close. Not that he had really been given that opportunity now either.
These were pumpkins, but they weren’t right.
The radiation had clearly done a number of these things like everything else left over from the fallout but they were still recognizable enough for you to be excited about.
“This is what you left camp for?” he questioned, his brow knitting together out of habit. They really weren’t much to write home about, and he didn’t get what was so special about them.
They were kind of gross.
The flesh was a sickly orange color with a kind of bubbling on the surface that was almost grotesque to look at but you still held it in your lap, as if this horrid gourd was the most beautiful thing you’d ever seen.
He didn’t get it.
“They’re ugly” he remarked, not even thinking about it. To him, it seemed obvious that they weren’t good looking but you seemed almost offended at his words.
Ugly? You didn’t think so.
In fact, to you, they were anything but.
“I think they have potential, they’re charming” you decided, not leaving any room for discussion as you surveyed the object in your hold. They weren’t like anything you’d ever seen before but that didn’t mean they were bad.
It just meant they were different.
“I like them” you cooed, not paying him any mind as Murphy made himself comfortable beside you in the grass, your attention far too preoccupied with your latest find.
You thought you saw them a few days back when you were exploring with Octavia and a few of the others but when you asked about them, you were quickly waved off.
Evidently, they weren’t as exciting as the other oddities the radioactive planet had to offer.
Still, you hadn’t been able to stop thinking about them and you knew they could be wonderful. As odd as they were to look at, you were sure that with the right treatment, they could be beautiful.
Just like everything else.
“If you say so” he shrugged, trying his best to see whatever it was you were seeing, though, it really wasn’t happening for him.
To Murphy, the mass in your lap looked like a mistake of nature that should have been left on its own without a second thought but clearly, you say something in them that he didn’t.
You saw something better, which didn’t really surprise him.
For as long as he’d known you, you’d had this optimistic disposition about you, no matter what was going on around you. It was something you always kept about you, and he wasn’t sure he’d ever seen you down.
It was a quality that normally would have infuriated Murphy, and if you had been anyone else, he would have told you to knock it off and grow up, but he couldn’t.
Not with you.
You were just too good for something like that, and if you liked these monstrosities, he supposed they weren’t too bad.
“They’re great, just give them a chance” you prompted, hoping that the more he looked at them, the more likely he would be to see what you saw when you looked at something like this.
They were unique, and clearly they’d gone through a lot to be here. In a lot of ways, John had something in common with these little fighters.
The world had changed, and they’d changed with it, and while they were different now, they were still just as whole as before.
“You know what would make them even better?” he hummed, plucking another from the ground around where you were sitting, with a smile.
Knowing him, it could have been anything but without hesitation, you nodded.
If he had some idea, you were all ears.
You and Murphy might not have always seen eye to eye about things, but you did really value his input and his ideas, even if they were sometimes a bit moody for your taste.
The male did his best not to spoil it, already proud of himself for the little scheme he’d come up with and took out his pocket knife, turning away from you entirely.
“What are you doing?” you asked, doing your best to peek around his shoulder to see what he was doing but Murphy was already a step or two ahead of you. He wasn’t going to let you ruin the surprise.
Especially not when it was such a good one.
“Just give me a second” he suggested, a small grin on his face as he thought about how you would react to this, giving the actual work in his hands the backseat.
Thankfully, it wasn’t a task that required a lot of precision.
You had no idea what he could have been doing but that didn’t make you any less surprised when he turned around to reveal a face, carved into the front of the pumpkin he’d plucked from the ground previously.
It was great, and while the jagged teeth and crooked smile weren’t exactly the route you would have chosen, you got the idea.
“Now it’s scary” he teased, handing you the small decorated fruit without hesitation. The blistered surface of the pumpkin only added to the grotesqueness of the imagery but you couldn't have been more thrilled.
This really was better.
“I don’t think so, it just has more character now” you grinned, not willing to concede on this. There was just something about these things that appealed to you and you weren’t about to change your mind about that.
No matter what John carved into it.
“I told you, they’re charming. All it takes is someone willing to do something with that potential” you hummed, finding yourself finally turning away from the pumpkins that surrounded you both in favor of looking at him.
John really was like these things, moreso every time you thought about it.
He wasn’t ugly by any means but there was still so much to him that most people didn’t see. So much that you would miss if you didn’t dig a little deeper beneath the surface.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right” he conceded again, finding that you were right. You usually were, of course, but he didn’t like to admit that to himself.
It made him feel all gooey inside, like there were a million inch worms in his gut.
...and he hated that feeling.
Murphy much preferred being in control of the way he felt, which he was really good at, as long as he wasn’t with you. It was with you that he ran into the problem, that pushing all those feelings away got a little harder.
“You want me to teach you?” he offered, catching you off guard as the intimate air that had fallen between you snapped away in an instant, that knife once again making an appearance.
It wasn’t hard, and you liked them so much, he figured you’d like to have one of your own.
Then, the two of you really needed to head back before Bellamy sent out a search party after you. Not that the fun all had to end today, because now that you knew where these strange things grew, you could come back.
You could have as many pumpkins as you wanted.
“Will you help me? I don’t want it to be ugly” you sighed, afraid that your own carving wouldn’t come out nearly as cute as his had. You just didn’t want to mess it up and you had a feeling that you would.
You just didn’t have as much practice with stuff like this as he did.
John carried that knife everywhere.
“I thought they were all charming, and full of potential” he teased, taking the pumpkin from you when you offered it up, before bumping you gingerly with his shoulder.
He got you there.
“They are, but I want it to be perfect” you allowed, taking hold of the knife when John offered it to you, the blade shaking ever so slightly as you thought about what you were going to do. The spooky face he’d chosen looked pretty good.
...but that wasn’t really your way.
You wanted it to be nice to look at, just like they were the first time you’d seen them growing out here in the wild.
“No such thing” John countered, wrapping his right hand around your own, helping you take control of the blade in your hand, though you could feel his eyes on you instead of the task at hand.
“What do you mean?” you hummed, trying to figure out where he was going with this. He’d never really been the philosophical type but now that you two were here, all alone, it was bringing something out of him.
Something different than he normally was.
“The best thing about all this is that it isn’t perfect. You taught me that” he shrugged, bringing a soft smile to your face as you considered his words.
He was right.
Maybe it didn’t have to be perfect after all.

John Murphy x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 2166 words
Warnings: none
Summary:John doesn’t know the reader went down with the 100, or that she got arrested to go with him.
—————————————————————————————————
Your stomach was flipping over and over and over again as you exited the dropship and onto the actual surface of the planet earth.
The nerves were coming partially from the fact that you didn’t think something like this would ever happen, and partially because you were so close to actually getting to see your boyfriend, John Murphy again.
He’d been locked up for so long, and this was the first time you’d actually be able to hold him in your arms since he’d been arrested.
Still, you decided to wait for the perfect moment. Everyone was rightfully shocked at what was happening around them and it was best to let him deal with one external stimulus at a time.
You had managed to hide away among the other hundred this entire time without him spotting you, you were sure that you could do it again for another hour or so.
It wasn’t like that much time would make any difference to all the time you’d already spent apart.
You could handle it.
At least earth offered plenty of opportunities to distract yourself. The grass was green beneath your feet and when you scraped that away, there was dirt underneath it no matter how far you dug.
Just like they taught you there was.
Exploring in the woods might now have been where you thought you’d be right now but it wasn’t the worst. It definitely beat messing around doing nothing while you waited for the nerve to strike.
You wanted to tell John what you’d done straight away but you knew that you couldn’t. Besides, there were too many butterflies in your stomach to do it now.
You just couldn’t wait to see him again.
So much so that eventually, you were counting down the seconds before you could finally rush over to Murphy with all the energy of a blazing star about to explode.
This was so long overdue.
“Surprise” you hummed, the biggest grin on your face as you made yourself known to the man you loved finally. You had been waiting this entire time to let him know but it was clearly worth it.
You hadn’t seen him this close in forever and you couldn’t have been more thrilled.
“Y/N! What are you doing here?” John asked, not even entirely convinced that you were really here. After all, you being here didn’t make the most sense considering the fact that he hadn’t seen you in all this time.
He would have thought that he’d have noticed if the girl he loved was in the vicinity.
Then, he found himself shocked that you were here at all and how. Only a hundred of the criminals from the Ark were sent down here and you hadn’t been among that margin, last he checked.
Thankfully, he didn’t have to think about it too hard before you answered his question. Not that you gave him any of the answers that he actually wanted to hear.
“I got myself arrested” you shrugged, not giving him nearly enough information to satiate him, though it was plenty of information to make him upset.
How could you do that?
How could you be so stupid?
“Are you out of your mind? How could you think coming down here was a good idea?” he scoffed, not reacting as you thought he would, by any measure.
While you weren’t entirely sure how he would react when you did this whole thing, you thought for sure he’d be happy to see you and you definitely didn’t think he’d be upset.
When you heard the prisoners in holding were being sent down to earth instead of staying on the Ark for trial, you knew that you couldn’t just stay here forever, not without him.
You loved John, and the idea that they would send him down to die was too much for you.
Sure, maybe you were a tad bit rash in your decision to pull a gun on a guard just to get arrested but it was better than the alternative.
You didn’t want to live here knowing that you were never going to see Murphy again, not when everyone else in this place treated you like the enemy just for breathing their air.
John was everything to you, and your all time favorite person in the world.
You couldn’t just let them drop him out of the sky without at least trying to do something about it.
Granted, now that you were on the ground with him, it was starting to feel like perhaps you’d made a mistake. If John wasn’t excited to see you, you couldn’t imagine that anyone else would be either.
“I just wanted to see you. It wasn’t like there was anything up there for me anyway” you shrugged, wishing there was a better, less pathetic reason you could think of, but there wasn’t.
The fact of the matter was that the Ark didn’t have anything to offer you and there wasn’t anything keeping you there. You didn’t have any family, or any friends outside of Murphy, so living your whole life up there would have been the real prison sentence.
This might as well have been a vacation compared to that.
...but that wasn’t even the worst part.
The worst part was that you actually believed that you hadn’t just ruined your whole life coming down here.
You threw away your entire life for him, and you didn’t even see how absolutely stupid that was. You didn’t see what a mistake you’d made.
“More than there is down here” he spit, looking at you in a way that you had never been on the receiving end of. You had seen it plenty of times toward other people, guys that ran their mouths too much or people testing his patience, but never you.
He never looked at you like that.
“Joh-” you started, but you couldn’t even finish before he was gone, stalking off in the other direction, more angry with you than he’d ever been in his life. Objectively, he got why you would do it but that didn’t mean it was alright.
After all, there was a reason Jaha sent a bunch of criminals down here ahead of anyone he actually cared about.
They didn’t even know if it was safe yet, and that was fine when it was just him down here, but no one he actually cared about was supposed to be in danger.
You being here threw a huge wrench in everything and now he had to worry.
He had to worry about you getting yourself killed, or getting sick.
It was too much.
You were supposed to stay in space where he knew that you were safe, so that he didn’t have to worry about anything happening to you ever again.
“Why are you leaving?” you called, even if he was upset with you, he should have just said something instead of pouting like a child. Even if he wanted to yell some more, anything would be better than him shutting you out.
You were alone here, really alone if he wasn’t here with you.
The two of you couldn’t just avoid each other forever, you had never been good at that. That was why you did all this in the first place, and you were sure that eventually Murphy would realize that.
He had to.
“I don’t know Y/N! Why couldn’t you have stayed where I knew you’d be safe?” he countered, turning around, that stupid switchblade in his hand, like it always was now. He was just swinging his arms around, making a huge scene.
Ever the drama queen.
That was what this was about?
He was mad because you came down here where it was dangerous, like he didn’t get himself locked up first.
Where was that concern when he set that guards room on fire? He definitely didn’t give your safety any thought then.
Maybe if he had, you wouldn’t have had to do all this stupid shit just to know that you’d ever see him again.
“I wasn’t safe John, none of us were. Even if we would have stayed, we would have just been floated” you groaned, not sure how he could have possibly been missing the point. On the Ark, you were literal criminals, there was no future there.
You would have just been criminals forever, until they decided to finally put an end to your misery. That was hardly the kind of existence you wanted for yourself, or anyone else you cared about.
At least down here, you knew that you could have a conversation with him, you could see him and touch him and be around him. You never would have gotten that on the Ark.
So, for you, It didn’t matter to you if that lasted a few hours or a few decades, it would be worth it.
“Don’t you get it? We never would have lived”
There was silence between the two of you for a moment as Murphy contemplated what you were saying, all while he still tried to work out how he was feeling about it. Of course, he didn’t want to lose you, but that was the whole point.
This was even more dangerous than potentially being floated. What difference would it make if you were together or not if you were both going to die anyway.
...but you both already knew that.
You knew that you were making a huge sacrifice when you got on the dropship, and you knew that there was a chance that you could die on earth. That thing that was stopping John from being angry now wasn’t that.
The thing that was stopping him now was that you were right.
If you had stayed, even if you were together, you never would have gotten to live lives together. You would have always been locked in separate cells, barely seeing one another in passing. It wouldn’t have been anything like this.
He was free.
You were both free.
Even if the air was poison and every second you spent here was leeching radiation into your blood, it was still better than spending whatever was left of your life in a box, waiting for someone else to decide what happened to you.
“You’re right” he sighed, eventually giving in to the truth.
John hated to admit it but you were right. There was no reason for you to be apart, and if it was dangerous then it was dangerous.
This whole time he’d been acting like you would have been better off there, safer somehow than you were here but deep down, you both knew that was a lie.
You were safest with him, and wherever John went, that was where you belonged.
There really was no use in fighting it.
“What did you say?” came your reply, much more aggressive than your previous attempts as you assumed he was still gearing up to tell you just how stupid you had been.
Your reaction made it obvious to the male in front of you that you hadn’t heard what he’d actually said, of course, because if you had, you’d have been jumping for joy.
You had always loved to hear John tell you that you were right.
“I said that you’re right, I shouldn’t have been so upset with you” he repeated, closing the final bit of distance between you, a small shrug pulling at his shoulders.
It would be a lie to say that John didn’t feel like a total asshole over how he treated you over this but now that he’d managed to admit it to himself, he knew that there was no other place in the entire world for you than by his side.
You were his person, and the only place for you was with him, even if it was dangerous.
Besides, neither of you knew that this place was as dangerous as they always said it was yet. All you knew for sure was that no one up on the Ark actually knew what they were talking about.
Everything else seemed like it was worth the gamble.
It was like you said, on the Ark you and John could have never just been together but now that you were here, on this desolate planet, you had a chance. A shot at a future, and you weren’t going to let it slip through your fingers.
Not this time.
You had risked too much to let this go.
“So, you’re happy to see me?” you hummed, gently poking him in the shoulder as if to prompt him to answer you and he did but not in the way you expected him to.
Rather to tell you how he was feeling with words, John simply brought you in for the biggest bear hug you’d ever experienced in your life before pressing a passionate kiss to your lips, one that told you just how much he’d missed you.
“I’ve never been happier”

Bellamy Blake x Plus size!reader and John Murphy x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1376 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Bellamy and Murphy both have a thing for the reader, and when you get into some trouble on a run with some grounders, they both fight to protect you. It’s the only thing they can agree on.
——————————————————————————————————
You had no idea what kind of danger was waiting for you in the vast woods of the forest and in all honesty, you didn’t care.
Foraging was the hundreds prime source of resources right now, and someone had to collect them.
Usually, Jasper and Monty went out together but after his accident, Jasper was out of commission and Monty wasn’t going to go alone.
...But you could.
It would only take you a couple hours and then you’d be back. No one else would even have to know. Nothing that bad could happen in such a short time, right?
Wrong.
You had only made it a couple miles, before you tripped and skinned your shin and that wasn’t the worst of it.
The worst came when you stumbled onto grounder territory.
They were understandably upset at your appearance there, and in that moment, you realized why no one ever went into the woods alone.
You clearly weren’t getting out of here with your negotiation skills alone.
Luckily, some miles away, Bellamy and the others had just started getting up and about with the sunrise. It was only a matter of time before they found you...or, at least, you hoped so.
At this current moment, you were tied to a tree, beaten and bruised. As best you could tell, they thought you had information.
Not that you could be sure.
No one was exactly translating for you during this entire time.
“Where the hell is she?” Murphy grumbled, pulling open every tent he came across looking for you. Usually, you were up and around by now, a fact that he only knew because he watched your every move.
Something terrible must have happened.
That was the one conclusion he could draw due to your absence. By this point, John had practically torn the whole camp apart, and you weren’t in it.
“Calm down, what are you talking about?” Bellamy tried, noticing almost immediately that Murphy was about to lose his mind. Whatever he was rambling about, it was starting to freak the others out.
A mass panic wasn’t something the hundred could handle right now.
“Y/N, she’s gone” the other man spat, they were wasting time. Wherever you were, they had to find you before something horrible happened.
When this morning started, Bellamy assumed that Murphy was just being a dick and making a bigger deal than necessary.
...But as soon as he said that key word, your name, it was Bellamy’s turn to panic.
The two men had little in common, but when it came to you, there was a bit of wiggle room. John’s love for you wasn’t new, and Bellamy’s own infatuation had started when you hit the ground.
It was instant, but for whatever reason, you didn’t seem to notice.
Even so, it was going to serve you well today.
There was no better way to get both John and Bellamy to work together than to put you at the center of it.
“Well where could she have gone? She doesn’t have watch today” Bellamy wondered, he intentionally kept you off watch, as he worried it would be too dangerous.
Murphy only scoffed, “I know that” he didn’t really care if Bellamy had feelings for you too. It was a simple truth that they both had to deal with, but he also didn’t want Bel to think that he didn’t care as much as he did.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Not that that was the most pressing issue at hand right now.
“What I mean is that she shouldn’t be gone” Bellamy groaned, putting up with Murphy was well worth getting you back in one piece but that didn’t make it any easier.
You were out there and between the two of them, you were going to be home by dark.
There was no other option.
“I’ll pack some water and supplies and meet you at the gate in twenty minutes” John finally decided, after taking a few minutes to collect his thoughts.
Finding you was their only option.
~ They did find you, eventually, but that didn’t mean either man was any more relaxed than they had been all morning.
“Right there” Murphy spoke first,  gesturing over to where you were, leaning up against a tree. From what they could tell, you were still breathing but that was about the only good news.
Bellamy was the first to meet your side but John wasn’t far behind. You could see the two of them, even though the edges of your vision were a little blurry.
Everything hurt but that didn’t mean you were any less glad to see them. Having both men here meant that you were safe, and no one could do anything more to you.
You would be fine.
“Are you okay? Are you alright?” he repeated, touching lightly on your face to try to figure out what was going on. There were already some bruises blooming there, and who knows where else.
...But you were conscious and still breathing. That was a start, and they could get everything else figured out back at the camp.
“I’m fine, my head just hurts a little”  you tried, doing your best to keep your voice as calm as possible. Depending on what you really looked like, they were liable to never leave your side again.
At the very mention of it, Murphy started rummaging through his bag, seemingly having thought of something else. “Give her this” he suggested, kneeling down beside Bellamy toward you holding a water bottle out to Bell.
You likely hadn’t had anything to drink lately and that could have something to do with the pain in your head.
There was a sharp pain on your right side under your ribs as you moved to take it, but you ignored it after a small wince. You hadn’t realized just how thirsty you were until you had a sip.
After all, you weren’t really thinking about getting a drink until now.
“Thank you,” you muttered, your voice broken between sips, the plastic cracking beneath your fingers. You had no idea why you thought you could ever come out here alone.
You were almost sure that you would never be allowed out of either Bellamy or John’s sight again.
“I’ll carry her back” Murphy offered, sliding one arm under your knees and another behind your back. He was completely serious about this but as soon as he suggested it, Bellamy laughed.
There was no way Murphy was strong enough to carry you all the way back.
“Let me do it. I don’t want you to drop her” he grinned, knowing that he couldn’t resist landing a little jab at John, even in a moment like this. He knew for a fact that he was more capable of carrying you back through the forest.
For all he knew, Murphy was going to trip on a stray tree branch and drop you in the dirt. In the shape you were in, it could be incredibly dangerous for your recovery.
“I’m not going to drop her” he groaned, turning his attention fully to the other male. He shouldn’t have even brought Bellamy out here.
He could have found you all on his own.
It wasn’t until you sighed that they broke it up. You knew that the two of them were never going to get this figured out between themselves. They could go on bickering for hours and you didn’t want to sit here anymore.
“Can we please just settle this when we get back to camp? I can walk just fine if you two want to help me” you suggested, using the hold John had on you to stand up.
As soon as you were on your feet, Bellamy braced his arm around your waist on your right side, with Murphy on the other side.  It would take a little longer this way, but you knew it was better to involve them both.
There was much less arguing that way.
You just hoped that the two of them would finally find a way to get over their silly little rivalry throughout the process of your healing.
If anything was going to bring the two of them together, it was you.

A Reason for Fighting
Tumblr media
John Murphy x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1203 words
Warnings: bullying of reader
Summary: John catching a few guys making fun of you and he puts a stop to it immediately, offering for you to come sit by him. From that moment on, you two take care of each other and are never separated
———————————————————————————————————
John Murphy had never pretended to be a model citizen and he wasn't a good guy but he wasn't a total prick either. He knew the difference between right and wrong, and how to treat people, it was just whether he did it or not.
Most of the time he couldn't have cared less about how other people felt and even found joy in some peoples misery. In fact, there had only even been one exception to the rule, and he remembered the moment fondly.
It was you.
All of the delinquents were in earth skills class, just dicking around as usual until Pike showed up to teach. No one really payed attention during those lessons because they weren't of benefit to all of you, living in space.
The one person who seemed overly interested in the course was you.
John still remembered exactly how you looked, sitting in the front of the class, sitting up straight in your chair and lightly tapping your pencil on the side of the table. You were facing straight ahead, never wavering...not even once.
There was plenty to be paying attention to behind you. Tons of roughhousing and joking but none of that seemed to interest you. You didn't have time for any of it because you wanted to learn.
Murphy couldn't figure it out.
There was no point to even being there, but actually wanting to learn was stranger than just showing up. You were actively taking notes and paying attention to everything around you, and Pike wasn't even there yet.
That was the first thing that caught his attention.
The second thing was your actual appearance. You didn't look anything like the rest of the delinquents. You were prim and proper, not one hair on your head was out of place. You were perfect, and something within him itched to see what you'd be like if you weren't in such a composed state.
He would have killed to get to know you but he wasn't in any position to just approach you out of nowhere. You two had never interacted before and you'd probably think he was a crazy person if he just sat down beside you and started talking.
It just wasn't done that way, and he wasn't going to be the first guy to introduce himself that way...especially not to someone as stunning and flawless as you.
However, it would seem that not everyone saw you as being as perfect and stunning as Murphy did because a few of the other guys opposite him stood up and made their way over to you.
They started first with jokes about your body, the most obvious target for ridicule.  Some poked at your sides in the soft roll of your stomach, while others pointed out the roundness of your face or jabbed at the mass of your thighs.
You weren't immune to their cruelty but seemed almost unaffected as they assaulted you. You had grown used to it in your time in the box and didn't really care.
They could say whatever they liked, it wasn't going to change the way you looked at yourself. It wasn't going to change your body and even if you were to change, they would always find something new to hate about you.
Still, there was someone in the room who had a problem with their berating. John could hardly stand to hear their harsh nicknames for you or hear their crude words, even worse were their hands on your beautiful body.
You were the kind of woman who was meant to be treated with nothing but respect, treated like a goddess and someone needed to teach those idiots how to act around a lady.
John may not have been the nicest guy around but even he drew the line somewhere. It would seem that today, you were his line. If he could help it, none of those pricks would have fingers by the time they woke up tomorrow.
He had little respect for guys who used their strength and power against innocent girls who didn't deserve their bullshit. You may not have been strong enough to stick up for yourself against them but that didn't mean you were powerless against their abuse.
"Hey shitheads, come over here and start a fight if you're in the mood. Can't you see the lady doesn't care?" he yelled, laughing to himself as he poked their buttons.
He didn't mind getting into a fight as a general rule but for you, he'd happily knock them all on their asses.
The four guys looked shocked at his little outburst but didn't take him up on it. They were having too much fun making you miserable to leave it alone, it was too good a time for them.
But John wasn't going to move on that easily.
Without even thinking about it, he shot up out of his seat and marched over to where they were all circled around you. It was lost on him that no one was sticking up for you before him because they were being so obnoxious.
"Didn't you hear me? I said, start a fight with me" he suggested, grabbing the biggest guy by the shoulder and landing a punch square on his jaw without a second thought.
Hitting things always gave Murphy a kind of rush like nothing else but knowing that there was a reason behind it made it that much better.
That started a whole brawl but after John proved himself as a crazy ruthless fighter who would do anything to be right, and every other guy had a black eye or a bloody nose, the whole thing came to a close.
You weren't really sure how to react during the whole thing.
It wasn't every day that a guy got into a huge fight on your behalf and you weren't really sure how to approach it. Did you thank him? Did you ask him why he did it? Neither of those options seemed to be the right one but it didn't matter.
Before you could comprehend your next course of action, John had his hand out to you. You could tell that he wanted you to take it, and for some reason, you did.
There was something about being anchored to the man in that moment. His flesh against your and his grip tight against your hand. You felt like he was helping you stay strong in the moment and you were grateful for it.
In that moment there seemed to be a shared understanding between the two of you that you would always be there for one another. Nothing was ever going to change that from this moment until your last moment.
John Murphy was your strength and you were his compassion, and this event had opened both of your eyes to that connection. A connection that would never falter, no matter what the two of you faced together.
Slowly, John led you back to the back of the classroom alongside him. This way he could sit beside you with his arm wrapped around your shoulder, keeping an eye on you and proving to everyone else that you were now under his complete protection.

John Murphy x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1586 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Reader is John’s ride or die who comes to save him from Ontari and the grounders.
———————————————————————————————————
You had a million questions running through your head. You could have done with answers for all of them but your main concern was John Murphy and the reason he was chained up like a dog.
You knew Murphy, he was your oldest friend and the person you loved more than anyone but how could you live with that. He looked like a fool, and you couldn't help but laugh in his face. He thought he was so big and bad, he couldn't even stand up for himself against some little girl who called herself the Commander.
It was hilarious if you were standing on the right side of the fence and you just so happened to be. Clarke had come back from Arcadia, spouting an intense story about how she came to be where she was, how she got the chip and where Murphy was. All of which was very interesting and that was how you came to be here, in Polis.
Someone had to come back for Murphy, and usually that was your job. Just like right now.
"Hey Murph, nice dog collar" you grinned, stepping harshly on the chain on the floor, yanking him harshly in your direction. He seemed unhappy at that but not too upset that you had somehow found your way there.
If John was being honest with himself, it was clear to him that he'd missed you. You were the only thing that had kept him sane through everything he'd been through since they fell. He knew he could count of you for anything, even now.
"It's not a dog collar" he huffed, filling you instantly with jealousy. "If it's no dog collar, than what is it? Who do you belong to now Murphy?" you asked, only half kidding as you once again yanked the chain toward you, only stopping him when you could grip onto his shoulder.
He knew you were pissed, what kind of girlfriend wouldn't be? It wouldn't have mattered to you if he'd done it to save his own skin or everyone elses, you weren't going to like his complicated relationship with Ontari.
Nothing was going to change that, not even his charming fast talking.
"I never belonged to anyone Y/N, you know that" you couldn't help but scoff, he sounded so sure. "I guess you're right John, that much have made it so strange to fall in love huh? Because you did tell me that we were in love, unless you lied to me-" slowly, you crossed your leg over the other, perching lightly on the edge of the empty washtub. "-If that's the case, I'll leave now and you can keep being a good little pet"
That seemed to be enough to get John to be a little more agreeable. He didn't want to lose you, no matter how stubborn you may be. "Don't go, just get me out of here" he suggested, pulling at the edge of the collar, as if that would somehow loosen it.
You knew he was being an idiot but there was no reasoning with John once he'd made a decision. Similarly to how there was no way to talk you down once you'd gotten upset.
"Oh I'll get you out Murph, don't you worry" you hummed, fiddling lightly with the lock on the front, holding the back of John's neck to get a better grip on him. It was as close as you two had been in months, and you had to admit that you'd missed him, even though you were still upset with him.
You were trying so hard to focus on the lock  but it was nearly impossible with John breathing in your face, his fingers fiddling lightly on the exposed band of skin on your hip, which he'd somehow found in this small amount of time.
"Knock it off, if you want out of here, you're going to need me focused" You warned, swatting away his hand. The lock was much more difficult to maneuver than you'd originally assumed.
If you were being honest, you weren't that sure you knew how to get into it without causing John a great deal of pain.
"When do you ever take this off? Does she ever let you loose?" You asked, if you had any chance of getting Murphy out of here, he was going to have to already be free from his little collar. There was absolutely no way you could get it off without severing his head first.
At first Murphy shrugged, pulling lightly at the chain between his fingers. He was clearly in deep thought, but then it hit him. "When we go through town, she lets me off the leash then, that's when I'm doing my flamekeeper duties" He smirked, rolling his eyes at that.
You didn't know why it was funny or why he cared so much about the girl but if you had any chance at all to bring him home, you were taking it.
"Perfect, when are you leaving?" you wondered, if you could follow them into town, you could easily take John away from here without anyone at all noticing.
It was a shotty plan and the chances it would fail were good, but at this point, you were doing your best. Murphy wasn't exactly making it easy on you.
~
"I told you I'd get you out of here" you grinned, tapping the 'flamekeeper' on the shoulder, almost going as far to grab tightly to his jacket, pulling him toward you out of the eyes of his keepers.
You hadn't yet seen the new commander, she was a short girl in shoulder pads covered in scars, she looked the part but even you could tell she didn't have the juice.
That must have been why she needed Murphy, the professional liar that he is. He was convincing her people that she was the real commander, even though she was clearly just a fraud.
"You're insane, what if someone had seen you?" he asked, shaking his head lightly as if he was going to scold you but he knew better.
There was no way in the world he would ever be able to get through to you once you'd already made your mind up. "Really Murph? That's what you're worried about right now?" you scoff, it didn't make any sense.
Why was he worried about you right now? You were the least of his problems. Nobody even knew you were here right now and you were getting him out.
"Keep your mouth shut, put your hood up and stop talking" you suggested, making it very clear that you didn't want his input. You had already scouted out the whole place so you knew exactly where the treeline was.
All you had to do was make it to the trees without someone noticing that you were committing grand theft Murphy. It wouldn't be that difficult if he could just listen to you and keep his voice down.
It wasn't difficult at all to get him away from the grounders because they all had the minds of children, but that didn't make you any less mad at him.
He was supposed to be yours, and the second there was another option, he seemed to jump at the chance and you weren't going to just forget that. Something Murphy was about to learn really well.
You made it across the cover of the trees into a clearing, then hurried away with little to no interaction with the outside. Unfortunately for Murphy though, the second you thought you were out of harms way, you stopped him.
Your hand to his shoulder stopped his movements, keeping him secure against a tree. The only sound that could be heard was the sudden gasping for air caused by the oxygen being forced from his lungs.
It wasn't your fault you were angry, he'd made the choice. You'd saved his life, but you didn't have to be his friend.
"What was that for! I didn't do anything" He barked, his voice a poisonous whisper in hopes of keeping attention away from you both. Classic John, blaming you for whatever in the world he thought had went down with Ontari.
All you could do was huff, running your hands through your hair harshly, turning away from him quickly. You couldn't believe that you'd stuck your neck out again for John and he was just gonna be a dick.
"Shut up Murphy! If this is upsetting you, you can go back and be a lapdog for the commander" you spit, stomping off in the other direction. Getting lost in the woods seemed like a better plan right now than spending another minute with John Murphy.
He was so infuriating but through it all, you still loved him.
"You're right, thank you for saving my life. Now will you tell me what made you so upset?" he asked, jogging to catch up with you, the leaves crunching gently under his boots.
Your hesitation was painfully obvious, but John already knew you were mad, all he needed was why.
"You and I are a team, and if I ever find out you sleep with her or anyone else again, I'll kill you myself" you start, hitting him lightly in the shoulder. It was clear you knew the truth of their relationship but John didn't feel guilty. He did what he had to do, though he didn't love her like he loved you.
"Agreed...and Y/N, thank you for being my life saver"

Summary:  Reader is super sweet and gentle so the 100 take advantage of her and Murphy doesn't like it
———————————————————————————————————
Your name was Y/N, but somehow you had been given the nickname Sunshine and everyone called you that.
You were easy to get along with and funny and kind, which is why it was such a shock when Murphy took a liking to you in the first place.
He would never admit it, but everyone saw how he looked at you and if you were being honest, you had noticed the boy too.
“Hey Sunshine” Bellamy greets in passing, his little lackeys tracking behind him like dogs, including John Murphy.
“Good morning boys, do you need anything before you head out?” you ask sweetly “Just a few rations and water bottles” Bell tells you, setting his pack down on the ground as you busy yourself with getting what he asked for.
The boys all scattered as they waited- except for Murphy.
“Good Morning John” you greet, smiling at him with your big, beautiful grin. “Whatever” he says, rolling his eyes and looking away from you
“I packed an extra bottle for you, incase you need it” you tell him, handing him his pack, but in your task you missed the shocked and quite admiring look that crossed his face. “We’ll be back later” Bellamy announces before he takes his hunting party out into the woods.
“What was that?” Octavia asks, her voice teasing and high pitched as she smiled at you “Nothing” you hum in reply, as you repack all of the rations.
“You’re so cute, you like him don't you?” the young Blake asks, turning to face you
“John? No” you assure, and while it crossed her mind that her friend was lying, O didn’t think so, you were just that oblivious.
The two of you just kind of hung out until the guys got back, and then it was your job to put all of their stuff away.
You had volunteered to keep track of the rations and supplies, mostly because you wanted to help and no one else wanted to.
As the other guys tossed their bags on top of the pile, and went about their day, you noticed that one of them was missing
“Hey Bell, where’s Murphy?” you ask “He’s coming” Bellamy yells in response, gesturing to the gate. Sure enough, not only a second later, Murphy was standing in front of you, an unamused look on his face.
“How was the hunt?” you ask taking his bag from his hands “We didn't bring anything back did we?” He asks under his breath but you just let it roll of your back, he must have been in a bad mood.
“Alright, well, I’ll see you later John” you smile, taking the rations packs back into the dropship, leaving a once again shocked and confused Murphy in your wake.
Later that night, you were sitting in your tent, sketching a drawing on the side of the weatherproof material with a piece of charcoal. “Hey Sunshine, will you take my guard shift?” Miller asks, peeking his head into your tent and you, being the way you were didn't want to say no, so you nodded.
“Alright great, you’re up” he says exiting quickly. When you finally got outside, the camp was basically deserted, save for a body by the fire. “Took you long enough” the voice says, and you immediately recognized the gruff tone as Murphy.
“Sorry, had to get dressed” you apologize making the boy turn around quickly, his eyes wide at your appearance
“I thought you were Miller” he explains scooting over on the log to make room for you “It’s alright, he asked me to take his watch” you say making Murphy sigh aggressively
“What’s wrong?” you ask, worried you had bothered him with something you said “You shouldn't let them walk all over you” he says “I don’t, I just want to help” you level, your voice even more gentle with his increasing agitation.
“No, don’t you see, they take advantage of you” He points out, his face illuminated by the fire
“I know, it’s okay” you assures him but he groans at that “Would it kill you to be a bit more aggressive?” he asks, turning all the way to face you now.
“I don't know how” you say and while he would never admit it, the tone in your voice and the way you looked up at him made Murphy want to just wrap you in his arms and never let go.
“Well then you must be too weak” he says trying his best to be cruel, but you didn’t even seem phased.
“How do you do that?” he asks, running his hands through his hair, his frustration evident “Do what John?” you question, turning your body to face him now, so you were both eye to eye, straddling the log by the fire.
“You are nice to everyone even though you know they take advantage of your kindness and I’m always cruel to you and you still talk to me and act like I’m great” he says, acting like he wants to yell but had to keep quiet.
“Honestly? Because I know you need me to let you and I don't believe people are bad” you whisper, staring up at a dumbfounded Murphy, his eyes scanning your face before he pulled you into him, his lips smashing onto yours quickly.
It caught you off guard because you really didn't think he saw you like that but it didn't take long for you to started kissing back.
Your lips were soft and plush against his which were chapped and rough.
It wasn't long before Murphy had you pinned against the ground, his large frame almost hiding yours from view as he continued to kiss you.
You hummed happily into his lips before the two of you were interrupted “You two are supposed to be keeping watch” Bellamy says, clearing his throat to alert you of his presence.
“Sorry Bell” you try but Bellamy puts up a hand to silence you quickly “Just get to bed, both of you” he says, sending you off, taking your place with Clarke at the guards post.
You walked in silence back to the tents, until you neared your own “Hey John?” you ask turning to him gingerly, he hums in reply urging you to continue “Don’t be so hard on yourself okay” you smile, standing up on your toes a bit to place a sweet kiss on his lips
“Good night” you wave, ducking into your tent “Night” he says a smirk on his face as he watched the tent flap close.

Summary:  Reader has a bit of a temper and gets in a fight with Clarke and relies on her boyfriend Murphy to patch her up.
——————————————————————————————————
You had lived your whole life on the ark, you had never been this independent, this free.
You waited until the rest of the 100 got off the dropship then unbuckled your securing belt, jumping down from the seat, your boots squeaking on the metal of the floor.
As soon as you ducked under the doorway of the dropship, you were blinded by the sunlight seeping in through the trees.
As soon as you stepped onto the ground, you looked around, the rest of the 100 were rushing around the woods, chasing each other and messing around.
“What’s wrong Y/N, not having a good time?” Murphy asks teasingly, tossing his arm over your shoulder lazily “Shove off” you say, rolling your eyes but making no motion to remove his arm
“It’s earth baby, we can do whatever we want” he reminds, before leaning down to your ear, his breath on your cheek making you shiver
“we could go find somewhere private” he says, his voice husky in your ear but you giggle at his attempt
“We’ve been here all of twelve minutes and that’s what you’re thinking about?” you ask, taking his other hand and playing with his fingers absentmindedly.
Murphy laughs, watching you as you busied yourself with his hand, until a guy you knew as Adam came up to the two of you…with his arrival, Murphy removed his arm from your frame and focused his attention solely on the boy in front of him.
It didn't bother you, in fact you thought it was cute, Murphy had never been the kind to show his emotions in public so it made you feel even more special that you got to see them.
“I’ll be back later” he turns back to you for a second, winking before he got pulled away by Adam, a smirk on his face.
Everyone knew that we two were a couple, but no one knew just how sweet, caring and romantic Murphy was because all they saw was what he let them see.
As you turned around, you rammed right into a blonde girl you knew as Clarke, Clarke Griffin wasn’t without flaws despite what she would have you believe, and you almost blamed her for your capture.
Back on the Ark, you got caught stealing food rations for your mother, she was sick after all.
Clarke found out about it and when the guards came to get you from your home, you stabbed one of them with a kitchen knife, luckily you were only thirteen so you couldn't be floated right away but had you not been sent here, you would have been.
A young boy by the name of John Murphy stayed in the cell next to your and you would see him on and off every once in a while, and slowly realized you had feelings for each other.
This was the first time you had been able to see each other, really and you knew that later, when everyone else was asleep, you could count on Murphy being there for you.
“Y/N” she says, backing up a bit when she noticed it was you “I didn't know you were down here, I figured mommy would get you out” you say, taking in her appearance
“I feel like I should thank you, I mean because of you I got this sweet gig” you add, looking around you at all the amazing sights
“This isn't a good thing Y/N, trust me” she says tapping on the wrist band secured to her arm, which by this time you had forgotten about.
You began playing with it, with your knife stuck directly under it, you tried to pry it apart. “don’t do that” She commands, trying to take your knife from you but you pull it back before she can
“Come on Clarke, you can do better than that” you tease, holding the blade above your head “Get it” you yell, egging her on and she hops for it, only to miss by a small amount, earning her a swift punch in the side.
“Come on Clarke, I said get it” you repeat, punching her once before taking her legs out from under her, sending her to the ground.
“Too slow” you laugh, crawling on top of her now, hitting her before Wells appeared at your side, pulling you off of her
“Let me go” you yell through your teeth, blood in your mouth from the single hit she had sent your way that you’re pretty sure busted your lip.
You weren't even thinking about Murphy, that is before his arms were wrapped around you. “Really Y/N, I’m gone for five minutes” he jokes, noticing the bruise forming on your arm from where Wells had grabbed you.
“You did this huh, I’ll kill you I swear you’re dead” Murphy screams, his own temper breaking through as he watched your arm turn blue in that one spot “Enough, both of you” Bellamy yells, turning to Murphy in that moment
“Take her and get that cleaned up” he says gesturing to your lip, which was now bleeding onto your shirt.
Murphy grabbed your hand and pulled you toward his tent, which had been set up under a tree by the dropship “What happened Y/N?” he asks, picking you and setting you on the bench in the corner, which you assume he had taken from the ship
“That bitch Clarke, she makes me so mad” you say, noticing now just how much your lip really hurt “I know” he says, ripping a bit off your shirt sleeve and using it to wipe away the blood running down your chin
“It’ll need stitches” he says although you know he wouldn't know really “Damn, I swore I could take her” you swore, more angry at yourself than her
“Please, her side is going to be black and blue for a month” He smiles trying to make you feel better before he rushed off to get the needle to sew up your wound.
When he returned, you smiled at the sight of your big, badass boyfriend gingerly threading a needle.
“It’s not gonna feel great” he warns, coming to stand in front of you, the needle between his large fingers, as he focused his attention on your face.
He held the skin closed and as gently as he could, pushed the needle into your flesh.
You groaned as the metal entered the open, bloody skin and Murphy almost stopped but you sent him a look to keep going.
Before to long he was done and you couldn't have been more over the whole situation
“I guess that's what I get huh?” you chuckle laying down on his ‘bed’ that honestly only consisted of a sleeping bag and some discarded cloth.
“Neither of us is a stranger to a fight” He reminds you, coming down to lay with you on the cloth in the corner, you smirked as he neared you, putting your arms around him, you pulled him down to you for a kiss but he pulled away before you could.
You groaned at his sudden movement before giving him a questioning look “Your lip” He says as if it was obvious and you sigh at his now caring “Please?!” you whine, sticking your bottom lip out to which he frowned “you need to heal” he says, showing a side of him that only you ever saw
“But baby I haven't kissed you in forever” you pout, crossing your arms and slumping against the side of the tent “fine, come here” he says, pretending to be inconvenienced but you knew he wasn’t.
You plopped down in his lap and leaned really close to his face, your forehead against his and just stared into his eyes, looking for something but you weren't quite sure what
“Are you gonna kiss me or not?” he asks, his face not even an inch from yours
“I don't know, maybe” you tease before slowly bringing your lips to his, feeling his soft lips against yours before you were interrupted.
“Murphy” the commanding voice of Bellamy booms through the tent, sending you and Murphy apart, although he kept his arms still secure around your waist, keeping you in his lap.
“What?” he asks, clearly inconvenienced by the intrusion “I need to talk to you both” Bell says, stepping into the tent, by this time you had crawled out of Murphy’s lap and were sitting beside him, with your hand resting comfortably on his thigh, his hand rubbing your lower back.
“You two are strong, and they know it” He starts, looking at both you and Murphy in turn “I need you’re help, but first we’ve gotta take these off” he says gesturing to his wrist band, and you smile, taking the knife from the floor of the tent and prying it between your wrist and the metal, cutting your skin a bit as you did.
The band popped off and the lights inside it dimmed. “Next” you say, earning a proud look from Bellamy, and an even more proud one from your boyfriend.

Summary: Murphy having to explain the ground girl that he found in the woods, who's attached herself to him because he protected her. She's afraid of the others, but not John
——————————————————————————————————
John wasn’t a hundred percent sure how he ended up with a grounder on his arm at all times.
Really, as far as he was concerned, the entire event was no big deal.
All that had happened was when John found you in the woods, bleeding from what looked like a stab wound, he picked you up and carried you back to the camp.
He may have been kind of crass and aggressive but he wasn’t going to leave some girl to die in the woods. At the very least, they could get you cleaned up and back on your way.
However, the reaction was mixed from his fellow hundred.
After all, tension was high between the grounder and ski-kru.
“Get her out of here, what are you thinking?” Bellamy barked, genuinely shocked that Murphy would be so stupid. As far as they knew, you could be some kind of spy.
Not that Murphy believed that.
Somewhere along the way, from the time he found you to this moment, he had become almost protective over you. There was just something about you, like a baby bird with a broken wing. He wanted to take care of you.
Which, quite frankly, was new for him.
As a general rule, he did his best to maintain a general disregard for the rest of the human race, but that just wasn’t the case here.
He wasn’t sure why and he wasn’t all that keen on explaining it.
“Just let me patch her up man, you really think a hurt little girl is gonna get the best of me?” he grumbled, not really sure where Bell was coming from. He had never had to worry about that before and he wasn’t about to start now.
...And as much as he wanted to argue, Bellamy knew better. After all, he had a bit of a point. John Murphy was the most prone to anger and defensive human he’d ever met, and if he wanted to help you, he had to have a reason.
You were miles away from the nearest grounder camp and if you did try anything, you were stuck in enemy territory.
Worst case Murphy would get his ass kicked, and Bellamy did really mind if that happened. After all, saving you had been his idea, and as long as he took care of you and didn’t put anyone else in danger, he didn’t really have any ground to stand on.
“Fine, but nobody else is to be put in any danger over some grounder” And with that, Bellamy was gone.
John took that as his seal of approval and hurried to where he’d left you, just outside the walls of the camp.
That was the deal, you weren’t to leave the camp until Bellamy decided that you were okay. What he didn’t seem to realize was that you would be in much more danger with the grounders now, than with them.
If you tried to go back to them, they wouldn’t allow you to go home. Nothing would ever be the same as soon as you crossed that line.
However, you knew that you would die in the woods if you didn’t accept his help. The last thing you were worried about right now was the consequences of this one thing.
“What did he say?” you wondered, kind of shocked that he even came back. Part of you thought that he would leave you there to bleed out in the woods. Though, it would seem that wasn’t the case.
“I’m gonna take care of you” he assured, bringing a smile to your face.
You had no idea what you would do without him. Right now, John Murphy was your savior and that meant something to you.
Somehow, that bond you felt toward him after that first day only intensified as you went along. What had started as a mutual agreement between you and the hundred quickly fell apart.
They thought that you would heal up in a few days and go about your life far away from them but that clearly wasn’t the case.
Your recovery was taking much more time than you’d originally thought and in all honesty-you were enjoying your time in them. Hell, even Bellamy had to admit that you weren’t as bad as he’d thought before.
There was only one problem…
You were stuck to Murphy’s hip.
There was a bond between you both that nothing could break. He had been there for you in your time of need and vulnerability.
John had done something for you that no one else ever had.
He had put his neck out for you and taken a chance...and for that, you owed him everything.
Normally, Murphy would walk through the camp, one hand on his gun and his eyes straight ahead. He checked everything out before doing his shift on the fence line. It was his turn to stand guard but something about this morning was different.
Instead of following that same routine, eyes straight ahead and all that, John had a smile on his face. Not only that, but he wasn’t alone like he usually was.
Right by his side, like always, was you.
“That’s so weird” Octavia commented, appearing at her brother’s side with a scrunched look on her face. In all the time that they’d known Murphy, nothing ever made him smile.
...Except whatever it was that you were saying.
“I don’t get it either” this time it was Jasper. Sure enough, everyone in camp had something to say about the strange nature of your relationship.
No one could figure out what it was about you that Murphy liked, no matter how hard they tried.
“Relax you guys, I’ll talk to him” Bellamy finally decided, admittedly, even he was shocked. It was no secret that Murphy couldn’t stand anyone for longer than a few minutes, but you two had been together nonstop for days.
Everyone was curious about it.
So, it was decided. Bellamy would just have to find time to ask Murphy what the deal was. Maybe then everyone would get off his back about it.
The perfect time came later that day, after most of the other hundred had turned in for the night.
John was sitting at the fire, all by himself, likely waiting for his turn to take watch. You were missing from his side, which was odd, but Bellamy didn’t think much of it.
This conversation would only take a few minutes anyway.
“Where’s Y/N?” he called, announcing his presents out loud rather than risk sneaking up on Murphy. It was strange to see the two of you apart, even for Bellamy.
It just hadn't happened in a while.
Murphy didn’t even flinch at the sudden intrusion, only turning around to look at Bell in the dark. He knew exactly who it was before he even moved.
After all, there were few people who would even approach him, and even fewer sounded like Bellamy.
“She’s in our tent, she got tired” he shrugged, not bothered by the fact that he was asking about you. In fact, John was happy to talk about you.
He couldn’t help it.
It was new for him, completely new but he was doing his best not to question it. You made him happy and that was enough.
...It was all this new world had given either of you.
“You two share a tent now?” Bellamy asked, shocked at this new development. When this whole thing started, Bellamy thought that the others were just being dramatic.
However, that clearly wasn’t the case.
As far as Bellamy knew, you were still camping out on your own. Not that he could really blame Murphy for it.
After all, it was Bellamy who brought it up in the first place. Not blatantly, but he told him that you were his responsibility. Clearly, John had taken that really literally.
“Yeah, I didn’t want her sleeping outside the walls” he shrugged, not seeing why it was a big deal.
You didn’t have anywhere else to go so as far as he was concerned, you were one of them now. The others just hadn’t caught up yet.
When John found out where Bellamy had put you up, he could help but be upset. You weren’t like some dog he could keep outside, you were a person.
For that matter, you were quickly becoming a very important person to him.
“Okay well, speaking of her, what’s going on between the two of you? It’s been kind of bothering everyone around here” Bellamy tired, deciding to rip the bandage off quickly.
You all knew that John wasn’t like that one bit, but it had to be said.
The sooner it was figured out, the sooner you could all go back to living somewhat normal lives.
Not that it was really that simple.
You were all complete and total strangers, and you didn’t come from the same place. However, as soon as the words left his lips, John couldn’t help but wonder where Bell was coming from in the first place.
Why did the rest of them care what he did? Even if you were a grounder, it didn’t matter. As of late, you were closer to the hundred than you could ever be again.
“Bothering everyone? Why?” he questioned, doing his best to keep calm. He had never bonded with any of them like he had with you, and now they were trying to take it from him.
It was typical.
No one wanted to get to know him, but as soon as someone did, Bellamy was trying to ruin it.
“It’s just strange. I mean, she’s gonna be going back home soon, right?” you weren’t, but John wasn’t prepared to tell him that yet. You wouldn’t be welcome with your people anymore, and Murphy promised you could stay.
There was no way he was going to make you leave after everything you’d been through. Not to mention the fact that he would miss you.
“She’s taken a liking to me, I don’t think it would be a good idea to ask her to go” John smiled, imagining the look on your face if Bellamy even tried it.
After all, Bellamy may have thought that he was stronger than you, due to your plush frame and calm demeanor but John knew differently.
He knew that if you had to, you would fight him tooth and nail over it.
Because, what he’d said before wasn’t a lie, you were just as attached to John as he was to you. If you found out about this conversation, it wouldn’t go well.
