The ocean was not your friend, you could only look at the endless channel of water in disdain. This was far too daunting for you, you liked the little rivers or ponds back at home. The sealife while beautiful, petrified you.
You missed the lush greens and the smell of the dew from the occasional rain back in the jungle. It was easy to forget your responsibilities, not that you had as many as your other siblings. Being the second youngest Sully had its perks. Not older than Lo'ak, and not younger than Tuk.
The "expeditions" you went on now made you look like a fool. You didn't know the terrain here, how to navigate fluidly through the water like Tsireya, Ao'nung, or Roxto.
Each passing day your siblings got better at managing to hold their breath, and riding their Ilu's. But you were still stuck in the past.
It felt reality kept kicking you in the face. Your stubborn self was annoyed as well. Holding a grudge against your family. It seemed like no one missed home. You understood why your parents made the decision they did, but it didn't make the act of doing so hurt any less.
At least you had these quiet moments before your thoughts ran rampant to practice your breathing.
You were suddenly interrupted from your twisting thoughts when a nudge was directed at your head.
It was Ao'nung and his crew.
"Leave me alone." You hissed at them, not wanting to deal with their bullshit today.
"Leave me alone." Ao'nung mocked you as he tugged on your tail.
You quickly stood up, looking to see if any of your family were close by. They weren't. You were supposed to be back in the Mauri but once again, you lost track of time.
"No one is here to help you, Y/n."
They grabbed your hand, poking insults at you and your family. You knew better than to talk back, especially if no one was here to help you out. It was 4 against 1. So instead you bit your lip and kept your mouth shut.
"Roxto, are you there?" His mother called from around the corner, startling the goonies.
"You're in luck, scram!" Ao'nung hissed at you.
Eyes widening, you stumbled as you rushed back to your Mauri. You didn't dare look back at your tormentors.
Once you were a few steps away, you slowed your pace. Catching your breath, before making your way inside.
The worried chatter of your family halted when you made your presence.
Neytiri stopped pacing, moving over to you and grabbing your face in her hands.
"Ewya help me before I lose it. Where have you been? You're 15 minutes late! I was about to send your brothers out to look for you."
Had it really been that long?
"I'm sorry." You looked down in shame. It's weird being on the brunt end of the stick. Even your parents have grown more accustomed to having to tell you off rather than Lo'ak. It was definitely odd.
"You didn't answer your mother's question, where have you been?" Jake didn't like being stern with you, but you being late to dinner had been happening more regularly.
You used to be a stickler for these dinners, being the one to push for them. How everyone had to be in attendance, and on time. It was family bonding time, moments to catch up on what everyone had done that day.
"Just around, I was with my Ilu - I'm sorry." You looked down to the Mauri's floor, unable to meet your father's eyes. It was hard lying to him.
Neteyams eyebrows arched in confusion, he had just been with his Ilu. You were nowhere in sight. He decided to let it slide this time, but he couldn't help but wonder where you snuck off too.
"Alright well, you really got to keep track of time yeah. You used to love these dinners!"
"Yes, and I still do!" You answered too quickly, not missing a beat.
If Jake wasn't suspicious before, he certainly was now. But like Neteyam, he decided to let it slide. Your brothers had told him and Neytiri how you've been struggling to catch up and learn everything in the lessons.
That was partially it, but if only he was aware of the bigger picture.
Jake nodded, looking to Neytiri. She also held a look of concern, but Jake made a silent signal that basically stated:
"We shouldn't push it, not now."
"Well, let's eat before the food gets even colder." Neytiri ushered her kids over, keeping a close eye on you.
Your family gathers around the food that was already set, and start eating. As all your siblings chatted excitedly about the activities they've done throughout the day. You didn't say a thing, not even piping in.
Neytiri and Jake once again met gazes, thinking the same thing.
Something's wrong with our daughter.
Soon dinner was over and it was time to rest, as your family rested together you couldn't help yourself as you removed Tuk's arm that clung to your shoulder.
Maneuvering your way outside, you jumped into the water. Why sleep when you can practice again?
Before Eclipse ended you made sure to squeeze the excess water out of your hair and made yourself comfortable alongside your family. Your body ached and could no longer fight off your sleep deprivation. But it was worth it, you could hold your breath a lot longer now under water.
From then on, it gradually got worse. Even your siblings would struggle to find you throughout the day. You'd take longer naps through the day, and Lo'ak knew you were sneaking out at night. Your essence seemed to further rid itself from you, and all that was left was a hollow shell of yourself.
They too, shared similar thoughts with their parents. No longer could they see you dwindle away. It didn't sit right with them, you're a Sully through and through. Sully's stick together.
So they did what they know best and was most accessible to them, track.
Instead this time they weren't on a hunt, or looking for what was to be a good meal for their clan. They were following the steps of their baby sister.
If you stepped out of your brain for a moment, you would have immediately clocked them. But once again, Y/n was shut in her own bubble.
"Bro, don't you find it weird that she hasn't realised we are here?" Lo'ak whispered as he looked at you behind the leaves keeping them hidden.
"Shut up, Lo'ak" Neteyam grumbled. He didn't want to agree even if his words held some truth.
"Hey, I have to agree with him. We shouldn't have been able to get this far. She's usually far too hyperaware of her surroundings." Kiri observed you, stunned and clueless.
They'd never been to this part of Awa'atlu before. They'd been so fixated on the ocean. They had yet to really explore the area that surrounded their new home. It oddly felt like they were waltzing through their past.
At last, you came upon your tree. You liked it because it had a specific branch that you could curve into. Blend in, and be one with your surroundings. Like you had used to do before in the jungle. This was now your next best option.
Your siblings looked in confusion at one another, not understanding how this could be the reason you've been periodically gone. Did you spend all your time here?
But then it came.
It was barely there, and you were struggling to catch your breath. The cries.
It strikes through the serene sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, and the nearby insects chirping.
Your sibling's ears flattened as they looked at each other in sheer worry. You were a spitfire, but you had always been calm and collected. The physical embodiment of the word warm. Happiness was always with you. So where did it all go wrong?
"Great mother, I fear that I am not good enough. I thought consistency was key, I've been trying to practice anytime I can. But I'm so tired. I've never felt this weak and useless?" You mumbled to yourself, looking up into the sky.
Groaning in frustration, you continued. "Maybe Ao'nung was right. I will never be one of the people. I will always be too alien. I will never be able to live up to my family."
Lo'ak enraged by the doubts you had voiced stepped out from their cover.
Your ears tuned into the noise, you finally tuned into your senses and became more alert. As you hopped off the branch, hastily wiping your tears.
"Brother." You choked out, lips trembling.
He took slow steps towards you, trying to soothe you as he brought you into a hug.
"Baby sister," he said so quietly, solemnly.
You couldn't remember the last time he hugged you, and neither he could he. It wore his heart down, seeing you in such a vulnerable state.
Soon the presence of more arms wrapped around you both, clinging onto you - securing you in their grasps. For the first time in a long time, tenderness surged through you.
"We've got you, Y/n. You're going to be alright. Let it all out now." Neteyam who was at your right side gave you a gentle kiss on your forehead, muttering to himself - "Oh my baby sister."
Kiri had never felt such pain from you, it came off in waves. And it almost debilitated her. In that moment, it was the most protective she had felt for you. It synced through all of them, a fire had awaken in the pit of their souls - so fierce that even Toruk Makto would flinch from it.
Slowly your breaths began to ease, and your tense shoulders slumped down. It was emotionally taxing having had all these emotions balled up inside you. Now it was unraveling, and it felt all too bittersweet.
Your siblings sensing this, mellowed out on their group hug they were giving you. Moving over, you all settled down against the tree you've been confiding in moments before.
Tuk grabbed your hand while Kiri tucked your intricate braids behind your ears. You mouthed a "thank you", leaning your head on her shoulder.
All it took was Neteyam to ask a very simple question, "What's been going on, baby sister?"
And once your mouth opened, you decided - why not just let them in on everything? So you did.
You told them about how ashamed and humiliated you had felt when you started lagging behind. How Ao'nung and his friends would tease you whenever they had the chance to do. (It was always away from prying eyes). Due to that, it only made the feelings of hatred you harbored for yourself - increase a tenth-fold.
A deliberately belligerent cycle was born. Self-doubt equated to "I will push myself to the brink of exhaustion". You'd seek out your family thinking they'd have noticed. But they were too caught up in their own commitments to realise your intentions.
All you wanted was for any of them to see the hard work you had been pouring in to adapting here. But how could they when you always lingered on the outskirts?
Late to dinner, late to the lessons, never seen. They couldn't appreciate what was in front of them because they hadn't witnessed it themselves. How utterly ironic.
"I see why you didn't, but I wish you had told us, Y/n. We could have helped you." Kiri insisted as she patted your head.
"I know." You grumbled, but you were grateful for how attentive they are to you.
"Ao'nung will pay." Lo'ak seethed, completely shifting the topic of conversation.
Neteyam rolled his eyes and interjected. "He will, but not in the way you are seeing it in your mind right now. We have to go to dad and mum about this."
Your irritated eyes widened, leaping up from where your back had laid against the tree. Y/n scowled at Neteyam, her tail flicking in anguish. No, not her parents.
"Absolutely not, 'Teyam. They mustn't know anything of this." You countered him, disbelief flooding your features. Your parents would only perceive you as a failure, and that was the last thing you could stomach right now.
Neteyam stood up by you, placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder. He shook his head at you and gave you one of his brotherly grins.
"Baby sister, they are just as worried as we are." He looked behind you, and urged you to turn around.
Oh great mother, that could only mean one thing.
Ember crashed on ember, one filled with panic, and two filled with distraught. The tension was taut, but all your parents wanted to do was cradle you in their arms like they had in your first few months of life.
"Kids, back to the Mauri." Jake ordered them, pointing back to where it was.
"But dad-" Lo'ak butted in, worriedly looking at you.
"It's okay. Thank you, Lo'ak." You coaxed him to join your siblings who were also hesitating a little.
They disappeared amongst nature, and their footsteps grew fainter and fainter. Until all that was left was your heartbeat pounding in your ears. It felt oddly comforting being in their company even though doubt was eating you up from the inside.
It's been a while.
Neytiri was the first to approach you, her hands shook as she cradled your face. She took you in for the first time in weeks, and this time she was able to do it properly. Lately, she'd only been able to admire you whilst you sleep, or during meals.
In the morning you'd be gone in a blink of an eye. Throwing a haphazard, "I'll see you later", over your shoulder.
She missed you profoundly, so much that it physically pained her sometimes. Neytiri treasured you deeply, to put it bluntly - her heart felt like it'd been slashed by a Thanotor ever since you started pushing yourself away.
Jake followed in his mate's footsteps. His eye's tearing into your soul and trying to catch if there had been any distinct changes that have occurred to you.
"You don't look like yourself." Jake stumbled on his words.
Neytiri hissed, smacking your dad on the back of his head. A slight giggle escaped you that made both of their hearts sing. "Ma jake."
"Sorry." He mumbled, giving you a cheeky grin.
Y/n's doubts were already melting away before she herself could even acknowledge it. She grabbed both her parent's hands, leading them over to her tree not too far away from where they had been standing.
Mimicking how she and her siblings were just before. She settled against the tree again, bringing her parents down with her.
The trio admired their surroundings, taking in the wonders of Pandora. Especially Jake, and Neytiri. This is the closest they've felt to something akin to the jungle they'd once inhabited.
"I'm sure you heard everything, and it is true. I am sorry if I've disappointed you guys. I thought I could manage it all on my own."
Neytiri played with your hair and could only chastise your words. "You did not disappoint us, if anything - you infuriated us. We were just worried about you, our dear daughter."
Jake nodded in agreement. "We love you, and we want to be there for you. We will if you allow us. That's what we are here for. You don't need to fight these battles alone. Remember what I told you, baby girl?"
You rolled your eyes and pushed your dad away from you jokingly.
"It's us against the world." You mumbled.
Jake teasingly put a hand to his ear. "I'm sorry? What was that? I couldn't hear you."
Neytiri let out a soft laugh at you two's antics, watching with endearment sparkling in her eyes.
Clearing your throat, you reiterated your words. "It's us against the world."
Jake did extravagant hand motions, "More enthusiasm please!"
You were beaming, yelling out, "It's us against the world!"
"That's right baby, it is." Jake wrapped an arm around your shoulders bringing you to his side. Neytiri instinctively leaned against you both.
Y/n couldn't help but admire her parents. They were her foundation, her protectors. She couldn't believe that she used to be ashamed of being a Sully. It was her legacy, one she is only beginning to pave. She wasn't about to let Na'vi who didn't truly know her, dictate her life any longer.
"You taught me that love doesn't make us weak, it makes us stronger." You started, staring at your parents.
"I just - I couldn't catch up. There are so many other bigger things to worry about, and I thought.. I don't know. That I'd overcome this. I tried to love the ocean and the people. But I miss home. I miss everything that was green, now it's just all blue! That's actually why I like this place so much." You rambled, arms waving erratically. It felt gratifying to get it off your chest, especially to the two people you have wanted to tell from the get-go.
Your parents nodded, taking all your words in. But they were still conflicted. Their daughter had a competitive nature like no other, every time the world pushed her down - she always got back up. If you were lagging behind so much, you would have just pushed yourself more. Work extra hard, and seek help from your family.
But you haven't done any of that this time. All the means necessary she could have used as a stepping stone were left out of this equation. Instead, you had suffered in silence.
"You know, Y/n. It's not your fault for feeling like you don't belong. But you are one of us. You are Sully, you are the embodiment of strong heart. It does not matter what others say to you when no one else is there. It does not matter that you have 5 fingers." Neytiri protested, sighing.
She made sure you were looking at her, hearing her.
"What matters is how you control how it affects you. You are still growing, baby. This is a lesson you will remember for a lifetime and the next." Neytiri advised you, squeezing your hand.
"Your mother is right. At the end of the day, the power is in your hands. So use it, sweetheart. Follow your heart, and let us know next time if it gets a little too much. Alright?" Jake expanded on what Neytiri had told you.
You looked down at their hands holding yours. Yeah, Sully's really do stick together. And you wouldn't trade that for anything else in this world and all the other's orbiting you.
"Alright." Y/n restated, tugging both of her parents up with her. They stared at their child with confusion.
"Let's go back home." This time what you threw over your shoulder to them was a sweet smile, dimples and all.
Neytiri and Jake spoke with only their eyes as they let Y/n guide them back to their Mauri.
Our daughter is going to be just fine.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
bonus:
Y/n's laughter could be heard inside the Mauri as she played in the water with Tuk just in front of their home.
Jake turned to Lo'ak and Neteyam who were doing some chores.
He cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck.
"I'll turn a blind eye if you decide to give Ao'nung a beating or two. Just for today." Jake mentioned, before going back to cleaning his gun.
Lo'ak had a devious grin, rubbing his knuckles together, "Yes Sir."

The once crystal clear blue waters were now tainted with an angry scarlet colour. Neteyam did not know what the source of it was. His heart had sunken, missing a beat when your head had not popped out of the water to cheer with the rest of them.
"Wait, where's Y/n?" Neteyam, panted as he tried to catch his breath.
Prior to all this, he had expressed how you should have gone back to Awa'atlu. But your eyes had a fire that even he couldn't shoot down. His family by definition was yours as well. You just couldn't sit this one out, not this time.
Your struggled gasps answered his question, your head bobbing back underwater only to resurface seconds later.
"Nete, I think I've been shot." You groaned in pain, as you struggled to stay afloat.
"You are such a skxawng, Y/n!" Neteyam cried, immediately swimming over to your side as he helped hold your much smaller body up.
"Hey, that's not nice." You tried to retort jokingly, only to cough up blood right after you had finished your sentence.
You weren't supposed to be there. Your link machine was experiencing issues, Norm was fixing it. Tuk, and Kiri, had brought you out to the ocean as you waited. You've been begging to see baby Ilu's ever since the Metkayina clan allowed you, Norm, and Max to stay behind after Kiri's seizure. Now seemed like the perfect time to do so, but they couldn't have been more wrong about their decision.
When you three had seen Lo'ak rushing off to warn Payakan about the tracker. Your friends not trailing too far behind him, you all joined too. You believed Lo'aks words from before, you didn't know such brutal consequences would come from such actions.
It was you and Neteyam who fled to drop the tracker further away, only to witness in horror as your friends were trapped in a net, being lifted by Ikrans and dropped on the large ship.
Only months ago were you all held captive, but the stakes are larger than life now. You were horrified. Neteyam curated a plan, only on the ship to cut them out of their restraints. Then you'd all head back together. But Lo'ak wanted to save Spider, and a sky-person turned Na'vi was blocking your freedom back into the water.
You weren't supposed to be there. He thought he got you out there safely, how stupid of him to think that.
His amber eyes caught sight of your gunshot wound when he and Lo'ak pulled you on top of Tsireya's Ilu. His world was crumbling around him, and all he could do was apply pressure.
"It hurts!" You grunted, the pain like nothing you've ever experienced before.
"I know, I know. I'm so sorry, Y/n." Neteyam shushed you, trying to give you some comfort while calming his own worries.
His father's words began to repeat in his mind from the training lessons he used to teach his kids when they were far younger. This one focused on sky-people and the type of weapons they use. The damage it can cause.
"Son, a bullet wound is deadly - only if there is an exit wound."
How did a bullet even hit you? It should have been him. Now he felt like he was paying the price.
Neteyam cursed to himself, yaymak.
"We must bring Y/n back! They can help them there!" Lo'ak interjected, trying to get everyone's attention. He was worried for his friend who wasn't even in their Avatar body. The tensions were through the skies that gloomed down on you all.
Tsireya, clutching onto her dear friend for life - nodded hastily. Yipping at her Ilu, they made haste back to their village.
Neteyam previously thought his greatest loss was the time he missed out with you. But now there was a chance of truly losing all of you. He couldn't bare the weight that train of thought held over him.
When his parents had told them that they'd have to leave all they'd ever known. He knew you wouldn't follow in their footsteps. They didn't even have a foolproof plan. And it would be too dangerous for you, your avatar was not ready yet.
He wanted to stay, but his family needed him now - more than ever before. They wouldn't allow it anyway.
"I will wait for you, Nete." You had told him, speaking so softly. Your words were full of warmth, full of promise. You sounded so sure, and it reassured him so much. He was utterly devoted to every fiber of your being. You already encompassed his entire mind. Each decision he had been making lately that would benefit his future, always circled back to you.
If he closed his eyes he'd still remember every minor detail of that day. The day he had to say goodbye. It was gutwrenchingly beautiful.
You stood on a tree trunk, and he wanted to curse Ewya for having to make humans wear masks. Because as your tiny hands grasped his face, his fists clenched in sheer desperation to caress yours. But he couldn't, not with that damned mask in the way.
Instead he opted for tucking a stray braid behind your ear, leaning down to place a kiss on your forehead. His hands hovered over yours above his face, before grasping them. You'd never get over how they dwarfed yours, how it felt to bask in his warmth. It felt like a reminder from Ewya that you were destined to be together.
You could see the tears he was trying not to shed, and feel the way his hands were slightly shaking. His ears laid flat, tail hung low. And it felt like a punch in the gut, a harsh reminder of not knowing when he would come back here.
The fear of not knowing when you'd be in each other's presence again.
His gaze kept traveling between every feature of your face. The boy did not have any artistic ability in his bones, but he'd be utterly dumb to not remember every minute detail that he had fallen for.
This wasn't earth, there were no devices that could reach as far as they were hoping to go. No mailing system. They'd have to rely on their trust for one another this time.
With purpose, you held his chin. "I. Will. Wait. For. You." You had annunciated every word.
Determination flickered in his eyes, and his hands held onto your mask, the part that covered your cheeks. You blushed, he'd never done that before.
"I will wait for you, Y/n." He declared as his forehead met yours.
"Come on, bro!" Y/n suddenly said, wait what?
His shoulders were being shaken, and he was brought back into the harsh reality.
"Hop on!" Lo'ak tugged on his arm, as he and Spider waited for him. Neteyam swung himself onto his Ilu. They raced back to shore.
He briefly saw Ronal ushering a member of the Metkayina clan who was holding his Y/n, into a mauri.
He started to head towards them with Spider when he realised Lo'ak wasn't following. He quickly turned around and beckoned him over, only to witness him hopping back on his Ilu.
"What are you doing?" Neteyam hissed at him.
"I have to go back for Tuk and Kiri! They are still there, mum and dad as well." Lo'ak explained.
"I'm coming with you." Spider walked back over, Lo'ak wanted to argue about it - but knew they didn't have time.
He could see the conflict in his older brother's eyes.
"I got this brother. I know that doesn't feel reassuring. because I usually don't. But this is our family, I won't fuck this up." Lo'ak insisted, he didn't want to risk a slim chance of potentially losing anyone else.
"Lo'ak...-" Neteyam tried to change his younger brother's mind.
"Please, trust me. You're going to regret not being here if Y/n gets worse." Lo'ak contested, he knew he was right.
Neteyam shut his eyes, taking in a deep breath. Contemplating his choices, he knew what he had to do.
"Go, but be alert. This isn't a raid back home!" Neteyam said.
Lo'ak nodded in acknowledgment, turning his Ilu and heading back to the ship in the distance along with Spider.
When they were nothing but a speck in the distance, he quickly rushed over to the mauri he saw Y/n and Ronal enter.
He rushed in, his heart somersaulting at the sight before him. You were pale, too pale. Your chest barely rises up and comes back down. He could tell you were on the verge of losing consciousness.
"Please mother, let me ask for the humans!" Tsireya begged as she continued to try to stop the bleeding.
"Fine, go get them." Ronal allowed it, continuing to do her ritual.
Tsireya was about to get up, but Neteyam stopped her.
"I can do it." He mumbled.
He made sure his comms were on the channel that had a connection with both his parents, Norm, and Max.
"Norm, Max.-" his voice choked up.
"I don't know what you are doing right now, but Y/n is dying. I need you to come to the chief's house, now! I don't- I don't know what you need to bring but just what you can! Please!" Neteyam pleaded as he fell by your side, his fingers running through your hair.
Blood splatter was speckled on the inside of your mask, and you blinked slowly in response to his barely there touch. Gazing up at him, a pained smile graced your face.
"Neteyam, is that you?" You asked.
"It's me, I'm here," Neteyam replied, tearing up at your whimpers of pain.
"We're on our way! Eta is 3 minutes!" Norm's rushed voice sounded through his comms.
"Tell her we are here. I am here." Neytiri's voice sounded forced, holding in the emotions she was truly feeling at that present moment.
"Okay, okay. Mom is with you, she is rooting for you. You hear me, Y/n? We all are!" He hoped his words were giving you strength, he felt like anything he could potentially do wouldn't be enough. Neteyam could only pray to Eywa that his mother would be okay after what she had just heard.
Neytiri loves you like you were her own, to this day she cannot pinpoint why she held such prejudice towards Spider but not you. Maybe because his father killed her own and the fact he had destroyed her clan's sanctuary.
Your mother and father were fierce, in a sense they were seen as warriors through her eyes. Alongside Trudy, they had pioneered the revolution against Colonel Quaritch and his followers. Y/n's mother had worked side by side with Grace, while your father worked on the front lines.
Right before the battle, she had confided in Neytiri.
"I am with child. If anything ever happens to my family, please take care of her." Neytiri took this newfound information in and agreed, deep down only hoping for the best. They were some of Neytiri's and Jake's greatest allies.
But Y/n's father was killed taking a stand, and with too much sorrow in her heart. Y/n's mother carried you to full term. Only to pass away after being with you for the first three months of your life. Neytiri nurtured you alongside Neteyam. She too just like Neteyam, could only pray to Ewya that you'd be okay.
"I'm scared," you spoke so quietly that if he wasn't as close to you as he was. He wouldn't have heard you at all.
"It's okay to be scared, I've got you. You're going to be okay." Neteyam emphasised with you, trying to offer more alleviation to such a dire situation.
"We're here- fuck." Norm cursed, as Max unpacked a few things.
"Nete, I'm tired. I want to go to sleep." Drowsiness was tempting you, and the pain was beginning to fade into nothingness.
"No! You must stay awake!" Neteyam tapped on your mask, but your eyes rolled to the back of your head.
You started to seize.
Ronal and Tsireya continued to chant, as Norm turned her on her side.
"There's too much blood, Max!" Norm shouted.
It poured out like a languid waterfall, strangely just like some of the ones back in the forest. He felt the dread tugging at him, he was losing you.
He held your head to stop you from potentially hurting yourself even more when suddenly your body slumped. Your breaths come out in wheezes.
Neteyam could no longer hold back his tears, he had never felt so helpless and petrified. He wished the rest of his family was here, in a room full of people - he felt stranded.
Max clocking onto this, pitched out a thought. "I don't know if it will work, but I have an idea." He held a flashlight above Y/n's eyes as he spoke.
"What is it? We'll make it work." Neteyam insisted. He would do whatever it takes to be able to rid you of this agony.
Ronal eyed the boy, understanding his struggles. Then stared at the humans who were fumbling over Y/n's body, using foreign devices.
"You wish to transfer Y/n's soul to their avatar," Ronal replied as she listened to your heart. It was weak, but still persisting.
Max gaped at her, the Tshahik must have put two and two together.
"We cannot save Y/n from these injuries, they are fatal. That is the only way." Max further explained, not meeting Neteyam's eyes. He knew what he was suggesting was an ultimatum larger than life. But he could not see any other way, you were already advancing further in succumbing to your wounds.
"What you are asking of me is something that has only been done a few times, not once has it been performed in our clan. As the Tsahik I cannot guarantee this will be successful!" Ronal protested as she continued to tend to you however way possible.
Tsireya continued to plug Y/n's wounds, listening in, as Neteyam hesitantly let go of your hand. Moving to Ronal, he kneeled down before her.
Ronal noted one thing, the eyes she was looking into were drastically different from how she remembered them moments ago. Now it was untamed, yet persistent.
"I know my family has caused enough destruction. I know you never wanted us here in the first place. You believed we would not do our part, and I cannot fault you for thinking that way. We have learned your ways, adapted like my father did." He then motioned to you behind him.
"So will Y/n. In your eyes, sky people come from demon blood, but their parents fought on Toruk Makto's side. They made a difference, just like Y/n has started to do here. Y/n is an excellent fisher and healer. The children in this clan have warmed up to them. Because that's the effect they have on people! I swear, if you give them this second chance, they will be forever grateful. And if it doesn't go the way we wish for it to, I will not put the blame on you. The decision of whether or not she passes through the 'Eye of Eywa' only lies with our great mother." Neteyam held his chin up high, not bothering to wipe away the tears that began to stream down his face.
Ronal looked at Neteyam for a few more beats, before shifting to look at you.
"Prepare them for travel, we do not have much time before they get too weak for the transfer." Neteyam cried out in relief, thanking the great mother as he moved back over to you.
"Stay with me, just a little more Y/n," Neteyam begged, squeezing your hand encouragingly.
"I can't feel anything Neteyam, please I'm scared." You whispered to him, and he tried to put on a strong face. But he couldn't even imagine how scared you must be if he was already paralyzed with fear. All he could do was pet your head. and give you continuous kisses on your hair and forehead. Ewya, please be with us right now.
"Where are they?" Neteyam could hear his mother calling for them outside.
"In here!" He beckoned them over.
"Tsireya, get your father and gather whoever can come with us. We must leave to the Coves of the Ancestors, now." Ronal advised her child.
She quickly halted what she was doing and dashed outside of the mauri.
Neytiri's hand fell to her mouth at the sight of you, weeping as Jake whispered comforting words to her.
"Mother." Neteyam looked up at her, not knowing how to proceed from here.
"Ronal, may I bring her on my Ikran?" Neytiri in just a single moment changed face. Time was of the essence.
"Yes, you have not been where we are going. Follow along with us." Ronal commanded, gathering her things and getting ready to ride.
At this point you were slipping in and out of consciousness, but Tsireya had been able to temporarily stop the bleeding. Neytiri cradled you in her arms as she walked outside, calling for her Ikran.
The Sully family and Metkayina clan made their way to the Cove of the Ancestors. Ronal could not shake the feeling she had thought. That no matter what - they would end up holding a funeral there tonight. She dared not to voice such feelings.
Neytiri stayed leveled, flying closely side by side with Jake and Neteyam. She kept looking down at you through the short journey, checking on you. She wasn't the only one who was doing so though. Neteyam as well kept a close eye on you. Sometimes his Ikran would brush too closely to Neytiri's. She let it slide this time.
The last time Neteyam was here, you were in your Avatar body. You both had a deep love for sacred places to the Na'vi, and this one wasn't any different. Neither of you has heard of the place before, but it didn't squash the appreciation you both had for it. He recalls not just being in awe of his surroundings, but also of you. Your eyes held something remarkable, full of wonder. You'd given him one of your big grins, the one that only comes out in times like this. Your deep appreciation for monumental sites like this made him think of how your heart was just pure gold.
"You'd make a great Tsahik one day", is something he had cheekily said to you. In return you gave him a smack on the shoulder, scolding him. He harbored such great memories from that day, he loved it. He could only desire to relive that instead of all this.
The wind swooshed in her ears, but Neytiri faintly heard you say, "I like it here." She grinned down at you tearfully.
Truthfully, you don't know much about where you came from, to you - Pandora was and always will be your home. Nothing could compare to the beauty it beholds.
"Me too," Neytiri spoke wistfully.
You all were approaching the spirit tree, submerged in the ocean. It glowed like no other. The clan began to make a circle around it, linking their arms.
"Jake, we have their avatar!" Norm called from a rock not too far from the tree that they were safely able to land on. They had left before everyone else to get there ahead of time.
Jake flys down to them, retrieving your avatar.
Neytiri and Neteyam go to the same rock. They step off their Ikrans as Neytiri treats them like a feather. Your whimpers of discomfort do not go unnoticed.
Ronal and Tonawari approach them with a large leaf of sorts.
"You may place her in here," Tonowari told them.
You looked peaceful, too peaceful. You were placed in the leaf, as Ronal began to float you closer to the Spirit tree. The Sullys closely followed behind their Tsahik.
"Jake, attach their avatar to the spirit tree" Ronal ordered.
Jake nodded, placing a mask on your Avatar and activating it - an idea of Norms and Max as you would be underwater for an unknown amount of time. He connected your queue to the tree, the closest he could to the surface.
"We must put them to sleep for the ceremony to start. If you'd like to say anything to them, now is the time." Ronal gave you moments of privacy, swimming over to members of the Metkayina clan to further explain what was going on.
Neteyam couldn't remove his eyes from your Avatar that was shifted with the current of the ocean. Swaying whilst attached to the Spirit Tree, he'd never seen your Avatar look so lifeless.
Jake waved him over, "Neteyam, they are asking for you."
Tuk was crying, her head leaning against your own. You quietly spoke to one another, even while in agony - you managed to make the youngest Sully giggle.
Neteyam drew closer to you, even if you were facing away from him. Like clockwork, you felt his presence. Your head slightly turning to acknowledge him.
Tuk moved back, latching onto Lo'ak as she cried into his shoulder. The entire Sully family have given words of encouragement to Y/n, Jake especially - explaining the process and how it felt passing through "The Eye of Eywa". He could only pray you'd get that far. He was truly hoping this wouldn't be a repeat of Grace Augustine.
"This is not goodbye. When you wake up, I will be by your side the entire time. You are not alone. Oel ngati kameie." He stated, headstrong - like his father.
Neteyam wanted to wipe away your tears, he wanted to lean his head against yours without the obstruction of the mask. He realised that very soon, it could be possible. If you make it through this, that is.
"Neteyam I-I, Oel ngati kameie." You stuttered, voice cracking. That was all you can manage.
Ronal expectantly surveyed the Sullys, Neteyam nodded. It's time.
"We will now begin the consciousness transfer. Neteyam, connect them to the Spirit Tree. You may rest for the time being, Y/n." Ronal announced, everyone, witnessing their mighty Tsahik.
Your eyes fluttered shut, Neteyam looked at his family, before taking a deep breath and bringing their limp body to the Spirit tree.
His eyes widened as one of the leaves reached out, attaching itself to your back. Eywa, are you here? A comforting hand met his shoulder, his foundation. His family.
The Sullys linked their arms as Neytiri and Neteyam held onto you.
The Spirit Tree was alive, its light brightening a tenth fold. Flickering, as it seemed to react to the chanting of the clan. The Sullys could only cling onto each other more tightly as each leaf on the spirit tree lit up. It was fascinating to witness, they were just hoping it would work.
Before they knew it, the lights ceased. Ronal from above the surface halted everyone, before diving down to where you were. Tonowari, Tsireya, and Ao'nung trailed behind. They all looked to you expectantly, hoping for any sort of sign.
Gasping you awaken, struggling to catch your breath as you immediately check your surroundings. Neteyam almost choked on the water as your eyes opened, he tried to get your attention but you were too lost in your own world.
You were in the water, but how were you breathing? The mind-numbing pain was gone, and you definitely felt different. You were trying to remember and process whatever had just happened. Oh yes, the ceremony. It must have not worked, you're still wearing a mask.
By instinct your hands move to cover your face in shame, instead, you see that it's your avatar's hands. You tilt your head down, the legs, feet! It's all blue. Did it actually work?
Neteyam swan closer to your side, pointing upwards. Signing to you to swim up to the surface, you nodded. Detaching your queue, you made your way to the surface - the Sullys except Neytiri followed behind closely.
This time when your head pops out from the water, there is no bullet wound. You weren't bleeding out, you were truly Na'vi. You've miraculously been given a second chance at life.
You removed your mask as grateful tears streamed down your face. You gaped at Ronal and the Metkayina clan, "Thank you, thank you so much." You spoke to them all, signing "I see you".
When you reached Ronal, you brought her into a hug. The soon-to-be mother of a 3rd child was in shock, looking at Tonowari. The man could only grin, urging his mate to return the hug. And so, she did just that.
"Y/n!" Tuk screamed in delight as she swam over to you, you disconnected from Ronal. Mouthing "thank you again", she let a smile slip as she took in your words.
You hugged Tuk, looking at Neteyam over her shoulder. He was looking at you, differently. It was expected that he was always more attentive towards you. It felt all too similar to when he tried to remember every piece of you before parting ways. He was in disbelief.
Neytiri came up from behind Neteyam, a large leaf in her grasp as Jake helped console her.
Neteyam let Y/n lean their head on his shoulder as he squeezed you, kissing your cheek. They all realised what exactly, or who Neytiri was carrying.
Your human body.
You didn't want to look, it felt far too strange to do so. While your avatar still held features very similar to that of your human self, most of what resembled your parents felt futile. It just wasn't the same anymore, and it never would be again.
You felt grateful that you were already aware of how it felt to live amongst the Na'vi in an Avatar body. Navigating this body isn't rocket science, you've been in and out doing so these past few months.
Tsireya comes, with a handful of flowers and seashells. She delicately spreads them around in the leaf.
"In our village, we give back energy to the ocean, the sea will allow their past self to rest peacefully." Tsireya indicated to the ocean floor beneath you all that held a yellow glow.
Neytiri leans her head down, kissing your now-closed eyelids. She felt a sense of deja-vu creeping up on her. Her family follows her actions, all of them kissing your eyelids, their own unspoken version of goodbye. As Neytiri and Jake brought your human body down to the sea anemone that awaited for you, all you could think and wish for - was more time.
You didn't understand why the circumstances had to be like this. As you watched that version of yourself begin to disappear, it physically felt like a part of yourself went with it.
Y/n no longer felt naive to Pandora. They knew more than most about this beautiful luxury. Now that they'd been gifted with a body that was stronger, and more capable. They would stand with their chin held high and fight. Just like their parents had done.
Slowly everyone disperses, making their way back to Awa'atlu. Neteyam can see how drained you are, he silently beckons you to follow him. They make their way back to his Ikran, flying back home.
Everyone's asleep. You had tried to do so yourself, but you only got a good hour in before being awoken by the thoughts circling your mind. Poor Neteyam was exhausted, so it didn't take much for you to escape from his hold and make your way outside.
You let yourself sit on the shore, gazing up at the twinkling stars and endless skies. Squinting your eyes, you saw someone making their way back. Ronal.
Her cyan eyes widened seeing you, hopping off her Ilu she walked over.
"Can't sleep?" Ronal inquired at the obviously distraught child.
You shake your head, no.
Ronal sighed, "I understand, today has changed your life. It is good that you have such a strong support system."
All you could muster was a grin, "Thank you, Ronal. I know I've said that countless times today. But I don't know what convincing it took, but I will forever be in debt to you."
This time, it was Ronal who shook her head.
"I am your Tsahik, you have proven to not be useless here. But that Sully boy, he begged for me to do whatever it takes to save you. I'd like to believe Tonowari would have done the same for me if I was one of the good sky people. You are essential to Metkayina, you are one of us now."
She let her hand linger on your shoulder. Before you could get a response in, Ronal was already walking away back to her mauri.
You looked over your shoulder, she'd done the same.
Speaking it out didn't feel enough, therefore you signed it instead.
"Oel ngati kameie." She did the motion in return.
As she walked inside her mauri, someone else caught your attention.
Your Neteyam.
He darted over to you, a worrisome expression plastered on his face.
"What's wrong? Are you in pain?" He blurted out, lifting your arms to check if there were any wounds.
"I am, not physically though. Thank you for worrying about me, Nete. I am mourning what I've lost, what those demons have robbed away from me." You explained to him, your hand movements were erratic as you were still trying to come to terms with everything yourself.
Neteyam clenched his fists, before bringing you into his embrace. You leaned your head over his heart, listening to the steady rhythm. It dawns on you, you could've lost this.
Your grip tightens, truly taking him in as you bring your hands through his braids. You could've lost him.
He seemed to be coming to terms with the same realisation. You heard him sniffling as he breathed you in. You made him lean back, your thumbs following his tears as you gently brushed them away. He nuzzled his face into your hands, his body shaking as he tried to conceal the depth of his emotions.
Neteyam tried to speak, his mouth opening only to close again. You let him reign his thoughts as you continued to gently caress his defined cheekbones.
You gazed into his eyes, they were dark, lost. He seemed worlds away from you..
"I simply cannot live in a world that doesn't have you in it." Neteyam spoke through clenched teeth. Like uttering those words was a physical blow to his gut.
"Nete...-" You tried to offer words of comfort, only to be cut off.
You let him - because you understand him.
He exclaimed. "You are my home! You are my person! It should have been me, Ewya worked her miracles today. But seeing you now, compared to how you just were. I keep doubting if you are even real."
Neteyam could not meet your coaxing eyes, his hands were gripping your arms for dear life. Truth be told, when he had woken up and you weren't there? He had thought the ceremony was a sick joke he had curated to cope. His heart almost gave out when he went outside the mauri only to see you sitting in the same spot you always seemed to endeavor.
"And you are mine, I am here. I am real." You carefully removed his hands from your arms, placing one on your cheek and the other on your heart.
"The great mother has given me a second chance, all thanks to you. Do not beat yourself up for something that was out of your control. We've already lost so much time, I cannot afford to dwell on it any longer." Your words settled in his soul, making itself an oasis there. It was like a thwack to the back of his head, just like the ones you'd do when you scolded him.
You're really here. He could breathe.
You were right, it all has already happened. All you can do is move forward. That you can both do, together. As a pair, you were an unstoppable force.
His eyes that were so lost a few moments ago opened, with newfound sparks of hope. A new sense of purpose. Behind all that flickered rage, directed at the sky people. They would pay for what they've done to you if they crossed each other's paths in life again.
You beamed at him, he looks so radiant at this moment. He let you lean your head on his shoulder as he held your hands in his. He traced random patterns on yours as he looked down at them.
"Tanhi, I forget even now your hands are still smaller than mine." He smirked at you as you snarled at him.
"Shut up, skxawng!" You giggled and he could only grin in return, giving your hands a gentle kiss or two.
Between one another you talked about your favourite memories of when you were human through the rest of the eclipse. Neteyam chuckled at one he was specifically fond of as you continued to rant about it.
As his nose nuzzled into yours, your cheeks became a deeper blue hue at his actions. He couldn't be more grateful for the Great Mother and her ways. Neteyam decided to take this whole experience as the beginning of something else entirely.
Eywa has secured a lifetime with you. His father was right, his family is a fortress. He will no longer take that for granted.
Neteyam may not become the Olo'eyktan like his parents were preparing him for. But wherever either one of you went, the other always followed. He will protect that honour for as long you'll let him, and he hopes it lasts for this life and every other one that the world demands of him.

I've been having a hard time adjusting.
Life in the Hallelujah Mountains was a direct juxtaposition from whence you came. The ruggedness of the rocks, the sound of your feet making contact with the stones beneath you. There wasn't any shrubbery to whack out of your face. Instead, it was squeezing around the commune of people and narrowly avoiding knocking into tents.
You missed the plushness of the earth that would encompass you, guiding you to another adventure. Instead of your feet aching at the impact, they'd sink into the soil. When you'd inhale, the oxygen granted you serenity.
Up here the air was a little thinner, not enough to affect your oxygen on a larger scale - but it didn't pass you. Nothing did.
You made sure your father knew of such grievances.
I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting.
A prodigy had been birthed within you the moment your soul graced the world. The people were more than hyperaware of it. Especially Mo'at who looked like she'd seen Eywa herself as Neytiri cradled you for the first time in her arms.
That was before. When wielding a bow and arrow came easy to you, when you'd been the youngest to have a successful hunt, when you'd come back from a fishing trip with your dad with enough to feed the whole clan.
After coming in the form of your brother who was proving to be someone who looked and felt like he was more deserving of the role of Olo'eyktan one day.
The berries on top came in the form of leaving the communities rendition of Home Tree up to the mountains where the Sky People could no longer target them.
She'd never felt this weathered down, this loneliness ebbing away at all her wasted potential. The regrets anchor themselves then, a stark reminder that this war was brooding and vicious. At a young age, she must force herself to become capable.
I didn't know if you'd care if I came back.
When the day came for you to prove just that, you did so within a blink of an eye. You didn't know the consequences that would come for doing so, all that was drilled in your mind was "my family."
So when your mother's arrows came flying in the dark of the night to try to save you from your kidnappers. The rain casts itself over and your little sister Tuk is getting choked out by one of the soldiers. This was your time to truly try.
I have a lot of regrets about that.
You barreled in, ripping the soldier's hands from your sister's neck, and pushing her behind you.
"Go tuk, run!" Urgency is crystal in your voice, and Lo'ak can only give you a quick glance of fear before grabbing your sister in haste.
He was waiting for you.
"No, Lo'ak - go! I'll follow after you, okay?" You grunt, trying to battle this soldier off.
He soundlessly nods, gulping and blinking the tears that prickle at his eyes before disappearing into the foliage and eclipse of the night.
If only her stubborn self just kneed the soldier in the groin and left with them.
Could've followed my fears all the way down.
The trepidation began to bubble in the pit of her belly, and it sunk deeper and deeper the more the soldier overpowered her.
A wrangled cry escapes her throat as a very distinct "pop" echoes through the brewing chaos. He'd dislocated her shoulder. She didn't have time to dwell on it though, her uninjured arm reaching for the knife and unsheathing it from the soldier's grasp.
Everything slows down then.
Somehow she's being pushed onto the floor, and the knife that was once pressed to her perpetrator's neck was now inching into her stomach.
Oh, she's hurt. Blood pooled in her mouth then, the man letting out a menacing laugh - gun in hand and about to land a bullet to her head when an arrow shot into his instead.
And maybe I don't quite know what to say.
"My dear 'eveng, no!" She hovers over you in worry, looking around before muttering apologies. The knife was still lodged in your gut as she tried her best to lift you up and carry you to safety.
Your hand gripping the handle of the knife weakens, slipping in and out of consciousness as your mother tries her best to find the others.
"Ngaytxoa, sa'nok." You rasp out, chest shuddering at the sheer effort such a minor action took.
She hushed you, worries growing at how pale you'd already gotten as she enters a clearing.
"Muntxate?" A hushed whisper comes from in front of you.
It makes your mother jump in fright, jostling you a little making you let out something akin to a wail.
"Ma Jake, help her! I do not know what to do!" Your mother sobs in defeat, crouching to gently lay you down on the soft patch of grass beneath you.
"D-dad..." You grunted as his hand pressed on your dislocated shoulder.
I just wanted you to know, that this is me trying.
"Ma 'ite, what happened?" Your sempul's eyes glaze over in worry taking in your form. He did not know anatomy well, but the placement of where you'd been stabbed would have definitely gotten some of your organs.
"I had to save her dad, I had to save Tuk" She mumbled, eyes lost and looking at the night sky peering at her through the branches of trees.
"Tsmuke!" Tuk whines out, kneeling by your head at the mention of her name. She'd forever be in debt to you, and while she was young - her heart knew what was coming.
Lo'ak, Neteyam, and Kiri, follow her movements. All of them settled by you, not knowing what on earth to do but be there for their sibling.
Jake gave them all a look then, a twisted confirmation - an ending to your chapter. This wound was lethal, and you were suffering.
They told me all of my cages were mental.
Neytiri and Jake had never felt such utter distraught until today's events. Sure their kids were mischievous, always finding themselves up to no good. But they thought they had this handled, each battle they've gone into - they've lost some...not all.
Yet this felt too cruel, too world-altering and crumbling. Their child, is so frail and withering.
You and Neteyam were their mighty tsamsiyu's. Never did they want to have to see you go like this. Not when you had so much ahead yet to experience and live through.
They knew you were going through your own external crisis, and now more than ever - your parents wished they'd been more of a lending hand.
So caught up in raids, so caught up in making a stand - protecting their people. That their daughter had swept herself under a mat right before their eyes.
Her cages were going to finally win today, how ironic.
I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere.
As the eldest Sully daughter, you were more than self-aware of the baggage that came with who you'd become. The mantle to live upon and make yourself a dazzling star to gain the approval of your people.
You won over the people, and their hearts and souls. Strong in their eyes, almost the exact replica of Neytiri.
A healer apprentice under Mo'at, yet still going hunting with your father and brothers. There was a balance you'd manage to create that aided in you spreading out all the help and effort you could give.
But spreading yourself out so thinly can only last for so long.
Fell behind on my classmates, and I ended up here.
Even if you were the eldest though, you knew Neteyam was the one to become Olo'eyktan. It was what your Tsahik wanted, after all, Eywa had spoken it to her after Neteyam successfully finished his Iknimaya.
The tasks that filled up every inch of your day began to dwindle, and the people's hearts swayed to another. Your own brother, yet you didn't blame him for it.
For now, he to had to bare the weight that comes with a treacherous amount of responsibilities. The weight that comes with being named the future Olo'ekytan of your clan.
Therefore your uselessness began to amount...to nothing. Your father began to pour his efforts and lessons into Neteyam, who before used to just be a bystander - it was his turn to be molded.
Sure, you still were a daughter of the infamous yet famous Sully's, but the desire to be more than that no longer was set aflame.
Pouring out my heart to a stranger.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, - I just wanted to live up to you both. I wanted to be better, I just wanted to protect our family." She whispered, voice growing fainter as time ticked by.
"That's not on you to do!" Jake wept then, infuriated at the circumstances. It should have been him who suffered at the hands of the sky people, it was him they wanted anyway.
"At that moment - it felt like it, sempul." She insisted, her weak hand grasping his own that hovered over the knife still embedded in her.
"Leave it, I'm going to be okay. You're going to be okay."
A sharp gasp leaves his lips, before forcing them closed. His head shakes, shoulders quaking as he tries to muffle his cries.
Neytiri lets her hand rest on his shuddering shoulder as she leans down to press a feather-like kiss yet filled with so much purpose to your forehead.
She tries to explain.
"What your sempul is trying to say, is that it should be us who had been there. Not hiding in the dark, by your side."
At least, I'm trying.
A broken scoff escaped you then, "Can you just say thank you? I'm trying, I tried. I just wanted to show you guys I still had it in me. I wanted to save my little sister. I wanted to be of use, I wanted to help."
Neytiri doesn't care for the tears that cascade down her face, instead thumbing her daughter's ones away instead.
"I knew you always had it in you, baby girl. I'm sorry if it seemed like I ever stopped. I'm so sorry." Jake's voice wavers, cracks, a tear of his dropping onto your cheek - masked by your own that moves like a silent ship.
He was determined then, your efforts would not go down in vain.
And it's hard to be at a party when I feel like an open wound.
A smile graced her face then, one of acceptance. The clock was going to halt soon and she hopes that her intentions did not come off as something vengeful and selfish. But from a place of genuine protection and vigilance.
One fleeting look at them gave her great comfort though, they knew.
She etched the faces of her family into her heart then, even if they looked like they were in as much pain as you currently were. You wanted them to be the last thing you'd see.
The pain numbed then, the cries of anguish from the people that love her the most in this unsure world - muted.
The one thing that never faltered was the tight grasp of your father's hand that held onto your own, a gentle reminder that he was there as his thumb rubbed a soothing motion on the back of your hand.
Right by her your mother caressed your hair, occasionally leaning down to press another kiss to your head. Her cries oddly quieting, instead, revenge began to paint scenarios in her mind. All while she reminisced of everything you had been and what you were becoming.
"We're here, Tsmuke." Neteyam whispered, Kiri and Lo'ak chime in with a wavering hum of unfortunate understanding.
Hidden between the lines of such a simple statement, it's alright - you can let go and rest now.
Her heart stills then.
I just wanted you to know, that this is me trying.

๐“๐‡๐„ ๐–๐„๐€๐“๐‡๐„๐‘ ๐–๐€๐’ ๐Ž๐ ๐˜๐Ž๐”๐‘ ๐’๐ˆ๐ƒ๐„ today, it had been storming the last few days. Now you and your siblings were making the most of the sunshine. Things have been really good the past few weeks, and slowly you were finally beginning to warm up to the ocean. The past had to stay where it was, now you were gradually moving on.ย
Y/n remembers her dad's words then, "It's the little steps that end up making the biggest difference."ย
He was right, they really did.ย
"Neteyam", Y/n giggled as he splashed water at her whilst she sat at the edge of the platform they used to easily access jumping into the water when calling for their Ilu's. Her legs dangled over the edge, peering down at her siblings.
"Tsmuke, you are being silly! Come join us in the water!" Neteyam tried to beckon you to join him and Tuk as they played with their Ilu's.
"Yeah, come on Y/n!" Tuk whined, only to be cut off by ecstatic laughter as her Ilu nudged their head onto her back.ย
Y/n held her hands up then, an unfinished anklet dangling below the palm of her hand.ย
"I am finishing this, you skxawngs." She reminded them, wanting to give it to Tsireya once it was finished.ย
As Y/n began to reach out of her reserved shell, Tsireya swooped right in. She, Neteyam, and Tsireya had become a trio of sorts. She was hoping to make matching anklets for all of them.
"Alright, we're going to ride our Ilu's further out. Is that okay, tsmuke?" Neteyam called out to you, pointing further out.
You rolled your eyes at his worried tone.ย
You love your family, really you do. But the one downside to the confrontation you had with all of them. Well, they've been treating you like a little baby ever since then.ย
The doting and attention were very much appreciated at first. But it escalated to your siblings trailing after you everywhere you went, for the most part. They'd become increasingly overprotective whenever Ao'nung and his crew were in close proximity to you. The kicker? They implemented a curfew for you now. You had to be home an hour before dinner was ready, a whole hour!ย
Basically, your freedom and alone time had been cut in half. Stripped away from you. While you looked a lot more healthy and since perked up in the past few weeks - your family continued to remain on the edge. They just didn't anything to further happen to you, especially now that you've progressed so much.
The Sully's knew you were a strong girl, but the pieces you were starting to put back together could easily be ripped apart again. So for the time being, they'll do whatever it takes to prevent it.
Unfortunately for them, such an event was just right around the corner.ย
Y/n scrutinized Neteyam and in return, the eldest son wiggled his nonexistent eyebrows in a taunting manner.ย
"Yes, tsmukan. Now go!" You urged him to leave as Tuk waved bye to you.
Letting out a happy sigh at the silence that filled you, wow - this was really nice. She thought to herself. Just the waves rippling beneath you is what accompanies you.ย
Neteyam was about to dive into the water when he turned to look back and check on you. There you sat in the same position, back hunched and eyes focused as you continued to weave the unfinished anklet.ย
He nodded to himself then, satisfied that you were alright.
Yet the moment he turned his back and dove into the water, the infamous group you've been trying to avoid made their way into the nook where your mauri and outdoor area were.ย
Y/n tensed as the air shifted, hearing the sounds of multiple footsteps nearing her. A feeling of deja vu surged through her, oh no.ย
"Alone, at last, the great daughter of Toruk Makto!" Ao'nung jeered as their shrill laughter raked through the once peaceful aura you were just starting to settle in.ย
A not-so-subtle hiss escaped your lips, eyes closing in disdain. Can a girl not get any damn alone time around here?ย
"What's this then? Oh, an anklet!" Ao'nung had stalked over to you from behind, ripping the unfinished weaved strings out of your hand.ย
Defeat flooded your futures, not wanting to make anything of this. Y/n hoped they'd just say a few insulting comments and mosey on out of here.
"Who is this for, me? I love it soooo much!" Ao'nung mocked, sarcasm dripping in his tone as his friends cheered him on.
"No. It is for your sister." Y/n deadpanned, not finding the amusement they seemed to be in this predicament.ย
"Well, it's quite pathetic. I think you should start over if you want my sister to actually appreciate this." He teased, nimble fingers beginning to untangle the hard work you had just done.ย
Your ears folded back then, standing up and facing the idiots. Cracking your neck, a harsh glare was sent their way. Sticking out your open hand, palm up in front of Ao'nung.ย
"Just stop that and hand it back over. Then you can be on your own merry ways." You tried to appease them.
"When did you suddenly find your voice? I ought to stomp it out." Ao'nung sneered at you then, and in a blink of an eye, he had thrown your project into the ocean.ย
"Ao'nung!" She fumed, angry eyes scouting the water but you could no longer see it.ย
"Yaymak! Useless like my father had said, how do you even survive? Come on, take a dip!" He contended, bending down beside you to push you in-
A jarring snarl erupts from behind them. They all jump and swivel around, but are instantly stumped.ย
There stood your Sa'nok, gripping a basket full of fruit so viciously that it chipped - pieces of dried flax splintering and falling to the ground.ย
"Txavรคโ€™. Useless? I ought to show you how you can become useless-" She stormed over to them making most of the boys in front of you yelp in surprise and jump back again.
"Sa'nok! Do not!" You remarked, astonished at her shameless way of protecting you.ย
Ever since finding out about what had happened to you, she'd been so civil whenever in the clan leader and tsahik's son's presence. Now she realises how eery those actions actually were. Oh great mother, she was just doing it for your sake.ย
"Ma โ€˜itetsyรฌp, she is a fierce tsamsiyu. Unlike you!" She vehemently fired, pointing at Ao'nung.
He began to splutter out apologies, the realisation dawning on him that he was being reprimanded by one of the fiercest women Awa'atlu had ever come across.
Another figure popped out of the shadows then, Lo'ak. His fists were tightly clenched at his sides, eyebrows furrowed as indignation rolled off of him in waves.
"Yaymak?! He snapped, and before you could even fully acknowledge his presence he rushed forward - tackling Ao'nung who was receiving a scolding from Neytiri, into the ocean before you.ย
"Lo'ak!" Y/n fretted as she peered over the edge to see the two boys yelling and cussing each other out as they floundered about in the water.ย
"What in the worldโ€ฆ" Jake whispered in question to himself as him and Tonowari rounded the corner - quickening their paces due to the faint sounds of the commotion they had overheard.
His eyes widened at the scene before him, the chief mimicking his expression as well as they stopped, stunned in their tracks.
Neytiri was still yelling at the group of bullies, an accusatory finger prodding at one of his shoulders as he looked down at his feet in embarrassment. She turned a blind eye to what he rebellious son had just done, deeming it was rightfully deserved.
ย Both their eyes then flittered over to Y/n who was basically dangling on the edge of the platform, hauling a battered Lo'ak back up.ย
His drenched body collided with the surface and he grunted, but that didn't stop him from turning around to flip off Ao'nung who was struggling to push himself up.
"Yeah, eat shit!" Lo'ak continued to provoke him, even while branding a busted lip and what looked like the beginnings of a black eye.ย
"Lo'akโ€ฆ" You cautioned, pointing to your father and Tonowari's looming figures.
"Oh fuck." He cursed to himself.ย
"What is going on here?" Tonowari boomed then, stepping forward and making his presence known.ย
Jake trailed behind him, tail swishing in unease.ย
"Neytiri!" He called for his muntxate, grabbing onto her and pulling Neytiri into his side.ย
You walked over to stand by your parents, guilt crescendoing - this happened all because of you. Stupid, you didn't want to make a scene in the first place.
"I'm sorry Olo'ektyan. This is all my fault." Y/n confessed, tail drooping as all the attention was shifted to her.ย
"She is lying! My 'ite cannot carry this burden any longer, she will not. This is all your son's fault! He has been antagonising my โ€˜itetsyรฌp since we came here." She persisted, a sigh of irritation falling from her lips as she once again pointed at Ao'nung.
The mentioned boy wiped his bloody nose, ears shifting as Neytiri said his name with such harsh conviction.
"'Itan, is what Neytiri speaks of true?" Tonowari divulged as he dug into Ao'nungs pride with a mere look.
"Yes, sempul. What she speaks of is true." He blanched at the scrutinizing look Jake targeted toward him.ย
It was like he was about to walk into the battlefield, gun in hand and ready to rain blood.
"Look at me, boy!" Tonowari thundered, eyes now slits as he admonished Ao'nung.ย
The clan leader's son could've gotten whiplash from how fast his head turned.ย
"Go home, and work up an apology. Now." The chief ordered.
"But, I can apologise now-" He tried to reason, wishing to get this embarrassment over and done with.
"It would be insincere." Both Neytiri and Tonowari spoke at once, the former giving an apologetic nod to your mother in agreement.
Ao'nung tried to fess up some words, but Tonowari glared. His chest almost heaving from contempt.
"Go!" He bellowed. Ao'nung with his tail between his legs scampered off back to his mauri.
His friends stood there, almost comically. They knew they were utterly fucked and word of this would travel back to their own families.
"Why are you still here, shouldn't you be working on your apologies as well?" Tonowari antagonised.
"Oh, uhm- sorry!" One of them spluttered before being shoved by another boy as they all ran off.
Tonowari sighed in chagrin, a hand of his meeting his face. He stood straight then, turning to acknowledge your family.
Right in tow, Neteyam, Tuk, and Kiri were pulling themselves back up from the ocean.
Lo'ak went over to help them. Ignoring the worried hands of his older brother that looked over his bruises.
"As Olo'ekytan, I failed in my duties today. As a father, I also failed. I sincerely apologise to you, dear." He looked at you then, eyes full of guilt as he briefly placed his hand on your shoulder.
"I will be sure that he will see through a firm reprimanding, Jake Sully." Tonowari called to the man that had become his good friend.
"I raise my apology to the rest of your family as well. You came here to seek uturu. This will not happen again."ย
Jake motioned, Oel ngati kameie, to him. Tonowari returned the motion, bowing his head down lower than usual to try to convey his genuine upset at the situation his son had conjured.
"You are a fierce mother, Neytiri. Your Sa'nok would be proud." Tonowari added, before turning around and making his exit too.ย
Neytiri watched him leave, a faint smile on her lips before giving all her undivided attention to you.
"Oeyรค 'ite, are you hurt?" She necessitated, lifting your arms up and checking for any wounds.
"Sa'nok, I am fine." You dejected, eyes flittering to look anywhere to ignore her studying gaze.
"What happened?" Neteyam interjected, rushing over to you and bringing you into a hug. He felt terrible for having left you alone.
"I'm never leaving you again." He whispered, holding your head to his chest.
While the words came with comfort, they made your chest constrict.ย
Agitated you shoved him away. In return, Neteyam fumbled backward in surprise.
"Y/n!" Kiri gasped in shock.
"I am fine! I'm going to be fine! I'm not dying or anything, I'm still here okay?! I appreciate the concern, but please. Just, leave me alone." Your voice grew fainter towards the end of your speel, tears welling up in your eyes.ย
Cursing to yourself you rushed into the family mauri, humiliation seeping into your conscience.ย
Jake began to follow you but Neytiri put a hand on his chest. It had emerged on her then, how a situation that seemed so minor grew to become a lot more vocal than any of them prepared for.
Y/n was not one for attention, let alone being stuck in the midst of it all.
"Give her a moment, then we will go and console her," Neytiri spoke with quiet empathy.
"Okay." Jake agreed hesitantly, all he wanted to do was comfort his daughter. But he knew how much you needed your alone time.ย
So they huddled, โ€˜awsiteng. They waited, โ€˜awsiteng.ย
Until the light escaped the sky, and your raspy voice cut through the gentleness of the night.
"You can come in now, you didn't have to just wait outside. I'm sorry."
Jake looked to his family then, before they all slowly got up and made their way into the Mauri.
You were huddled in front of the fire, a blanket shrouding you as you blankly stared into the burning embers before you.
"Ma 'ite. You are not alone." Jake murmured as he sat by you, brushing away a stray strand of hair that had cast itself over your bloodshot and puffy eyes.
"I know." You acknowledged.
"Tsmuke, you are not alone." Lo'ak reiterated.
"Yes, I know." You acknowledged again, finally looking up at them as they all sat in a circle around the fire.
"โ€˜Itetsyรฌp, you are never alone," Neytiri affirmed, having sat by your other side and giving your cheek a soft kiss.
"I know. Are you all trying to make me cry again?" You garbled, tears prickling in your eyes at the warmth you were receiving after giving them the cold shoulder.
"No, we aren't! I don't like it when you cry." Tuk remarked, jumping up from her spot and running over to you. Giving you a hug from behind as her little thumbs rubbed away the tears that began to stream down your face.
"Useless my ass! That shithead was so stupid to say tha-" It seemed Lo'ak was still hung up on what Ao'nung had said.
"Lo'ak!" You all chided, quiet laughter following.
Jake grinned down at you then, his teeth even showing a little as he watched his pride and joy laugh. "Baby girl, we mean it. We're all in this togetherโ€ฆโ€˜awsiteng."ย
"โ€˜Awsiteng." You repeated, smiling up at him.ย
He combed through your hair, bringing you and Tuk into his chest.
"And you're right. You need some alone time, yeah? But we'll always be right around the corner. Okay?" Jake continued to reassure you, rubbing your shoulder - or what part he could reach since Tuk wouldn't let go of you still.
"Okay." You mumbled, arms wrapping around his shoulders and squeezing.ย
The pieces that felt so scattered and displaced suddenly puzzled back together.
This is home. Not the forest, not the ocean, not the mauri you all resided in.
As chatter overtook the silence, your parents began to cook up a late dinner. Your eyes met Neteyam's who sat directly parallel to you - he gave you a dorky thumbs up. Your little sign between each other that Jake had mentioned in passing that sky people do when you were younger, "Hey, are you okay?"
You returned it with your own equally as dorky thumbs up, earning a questionable look from your mother who after all these years - still could not fully grasp the concept.
This is home, the family that would always accept and love you through the toughest of times. Your family, that always made you feel whole. Complete.
As Neteyam yipped happily at your thumbs up, unable to hold his happiness under wraps. You thought then,
"Eywa, there is no other place I'd rather be."

As your family began to prepare to sleep, Lo'ak tapped your shoulder.ย
You turned to him, giving him a questioning gaze.
"Yes, Tsmukan?"ย
He opened your hands before a familiar unfinished project was placed gently in them.
"I tried to dry it outside, I don't know how salvageable it'll be but I am willing to help. I know Tsireya really likes- oomph!"
You stood on your tippy toes, tugging him in to a gracious embrace.ย
He smiled then, hands wrapping around you as he swayed you two from side to side.
"I appreciate it so much, thank you brother."ย

She hadn't meant to wander this close to the training grounds, and truthfully she had no clue how her little detour brought her here.ย
Alas, perhaps she'd gravitated here for a reason. After all, Neteyam was training some warriors-to-be, and maybe now she could catch a glimpse of him in action without disrupting the lesson.
She missed him, the consistent need of kissing him like the ocean does to the tide as it retreats back to shore. It held her heart in a monumental lock, Neteyam had infiltrated her thoughts once again. To be fair, she could not be blamed for this - they'd barely been around each other the past few days.ย
Jake had become even sterner, prepping his son for when he'd take the mantle of Olo'ekytan as it is handed down to him. It had Neteyam wishing he could talk back, just simply out of spite. To demand some room, freedom to spend more time with you. But the only thing keeping him grounded and sane was the fact that perhaps once this is all over, and he has secured his place as the leader of the clan - maybe then things would settle. He'd get to be around you more, even if it is through lingering touches and a fuse charged to his heart due to the yearning glances from across two ends of a place in their home in the midst of the forest.ย
His desire to cross the finish line had increased by tenfold at the mere thoughts flittering in his brimming mind. To start a family with you, live his life to the fullest with youโ€ฆthat was all he's yearned for.ย
But now she's cursing herself, feet stomping onto the forest ground with uncertainty brewing deep in her bones. ___ did not know whether or not to be pissed beyond belief or let her heart sink into the doubts already sneering at her.ย
Because through the thick branches, she stood behind to peer into the training grounds, the sight before her was certainly something to behold.ย
Training my ass! Speaking of ass, is she pressing hers into- what the actual fuck?ย
Her heart drummed in her ears, and suddenly fury fills her veins until she feels ashamed. Is this what has been going on all this time? How could her friend act on the attractions that she seemed to very obviously have? Neteyam was spoken for.ย
___ best friend stood a good few metres away from where she had unintentionally hidden, pressed too closely to Neteyam as he tries to readjust her stance and the way she grips her bow.ย
That coniving littleโ€ฆ ___ had already taught the ins and outs of how to control her bow and how to aim it. They did this months ago. She wanted to give her friend the benefit of the doubt, maybe she just needed some touching up? But why wouldn't she have just gone to you?
Such questions fizzle out as her eyes cut to your own, unnerving and edging on callousness. Oh, so this definitely was purposeful.ย
She knows more than anyone else that her boyfriend is capable of holding his own, but sometimes - he is just a little dense. Especially around the ladies of the clan, and the fact that every female (even males) wants a piece of him.ย
Not even just to be the Tsahik of the future Olo'ekytan, but because he inherited the beauty of his mother - the roughness of his father. He also had a very protective demeanor, never hesitating to be vocal about his genuine adoration for you - or back you up when a situation demanded of it.ย
It lights a fuse in the back of your mind then, a raging insistent thought that you'd try to tone down the moment you realised that you were each other's, person. That hopefully nothing was going to come of the way of that.ย
But your supposed friend is definitely coming in the way of you acting civil right now.ย
Maybe you just weren't good enough for him, never able to live up to everything Neteyam is known for and will come to be.
Jake had told Neteyam that he could begin to train other like-minded Na'vi - the people of the Omaticaya that wanted to become warriors. Saying in the same sentence how his dear friend Tsu'tey used to do the same.ย
It instilled him with great pride and honor, which he was undeniably blinded by in this current moment as your friends' fingertips graze his arm in a very flirtatious manner.ย
Disdain clawed at your skin then, making you want to scratch at your arms. Did she willingly sign up for these lessons? Yaymak, she's taking up the time of true soon-to-be warriors who await more proper training.ย
She lets out a loud and very obnoxious giggle, and Neteyam doesn't acknowledge a thing - still too focused on the lesson. The fuse imploded then.ย
All the doubts came gushing in at once, searing to your skin as envy wilts around your conscience. Green is all you see, and for once it's not because you live in the midst of the damn jungle. It's because envy and greed consume you. Betrayal too, towards the friend you lost and your lover who was too focused on living up to the legacy of two influential men of the clan.ย
Oh maybe, just maybe you had to unwillingly entertain such detrimental thoughts.
There's a reason why the clan is so unbashful in their efforts of trying to claim Neteyam as their one and only mate for aย  lifetime.ย
You weren't enough in their eyes.ย
You'd come from a mediocre family, hunters on the bottom of the hierarchy - nothing remotely remarkable.ย
Nothing compared to your soon-to-be ex-friend who is inching her way closer into Neteyam's chest - whose mother is also incredibly close to Neytiri.
___ was really wishing for Eywa right about now. That the atkorinas that had danced among the sky and brushed your shoulders when you and Neteyam shared your first kiss, were not something she had hopelessly imagined.ย
With fists clenched, Neteyam releases the arrow. Bullseye.
"Yep, that's how I do it." He just smiles down at her respectfully, stepping back unintentionally as he reloads his bow to demonstrate it one more time.
The girl inflicting all this bitterness and resentment frowned then, before turning slightly and meeting your teary eyes once again.ย
She knew you were there and was still doing this? Yeah, she can rot in hell.
In an instant, she squeals, but it's still a late reaction to what he had just shown - jumping to him and giving Neteyam an audacious hug.ย
Great mother, she was testing your resolve. Your claim. ___ can't do this, can't bare witness to such crude manners and undeterred actions from someone she had confided in and befriended for a large part of her life.ย
Before you knew it, you were fumbling, feet stepping on a hollow stick.
Snap. It echoes in the now still air, missing how Neteyam had flinched and retreated from her hug immediately. His features darkened as he spat out, "Don't touch me like that. You are here to learn, so learn."
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Two heads whip towards you as ___ bolts off, not daring to take a quick glance back at where you had left your broken heart.
Neteyam is only just able to catch a glimpse of who had suddenly retreated, dread drenching him in a mere half second once everything falls into place.ย
It was his yawntu.
The need to please his father and live up to the great hold his uncle Tsu'tey still had on his people sputters, becoming an afterthought.
"How dare you take advantage of me like this?" He thunders at the now floundering girl.ย
She gapes and stutters. But nothing flows through his ears. How pathetic.
"You're her best friend!" He hissed, ears laying flat in vexation.ย
Once again nothing leaves her suddenly parched mouth, and it leaves him utterly cross. Neteyam decides then to drag salt across the wound.
"You are not capable of being a warrior, especially if you cannot take my lessons seriously. I suggest you head back to where you belong because I will not teach someone as lousy as you - ever - again." He glowered, snatching the practice bow out of her hands and proceeding to not only snap it in half - but throw it on the ground as well.
"Neteyam!" She desperately calls at the same time he yells out for you, running in the same direction he had seen you flee.ย
He doesn't bother to pivot and throw more spite at the already frightened girl who had tried to make advances on him, it was her fault they got caught in that position (literally).
The ever-so-mighty tsamiyu now feels like he is shackled to the forest floor as he calls out for you again, frowning as his feet dig into the soil beneath him once finally finds you.
There you are, winsome as you quietly sob into the palm of your hands that cover the aggrieved expression that painted your features. The waterfall cascaded down on you as you pushed yourself to sit inside the little cave that had created itself over the years right behind it.ย
A jolt ripples through ___ as Neteyam instinctively brings you into a hug the moment he reaches you, pressing repetitive kisses to your forehead.ย
You let yourself feel the wrath of your thoughts then, right at their peak - so you can come to terms with them. They can settle and move away from having you anchored down like you were currently.
A gut-wrenching sigh ebbed out of you then, whispering to Neteyam apologetically.ย
"I know, I know it's not your fault. I'm sorry I reacted this way."
He just shakes his head in turmoil then, features hardened at the thought of you having to witness him try to be swayed by someone who he didn't find trifling interest in. Someone who had been in your inner circle of friends.ย
Neteyam felt scorned, struggling to find words that can appease both of you. This is all unexplored territory to him, he'd never had to deal with someone so bold that was also trying to get with him. The eldest Sully is so unapologetically enamored, essentially soaking in all the love and devotion he has for you. There's so much of it to go around, that even his heart sometimes grapples with where to place it all.ย
He necessitated, tone yearning for you to see him. "I hope you know, these were never my intentions. To hurt you, for her to act so-...for it to turn out - I was trying to appease my father and it's just been-"
You cut him off, understanding and knowing all too well of the troubles and responsibilities that have been bestowed upon him and weigh heavily on his broad shoulders.ย
"Nete, I know. Really, it's just my mind playing games with me. It is not your fault that she decided to, well - ruin our friendship. You also did not deserve such treatment when time is already not on your side right now. I'm sorry for that."
___ doesn't meet his eyes, instead her own are downcast - allowing her hair to hang like a curtain over her blotchy face due to the tears that she had just shed.
"___." He utters with purpose, hands moving to push your damp hair back and away from your face.
You hum lowly, eyes still holding a peculiar melancholy and distant as ever.ย
His hand pressing to your heart is what shatters you from the reverie.
Neteyam's amber eyes are fierce, bold, and enraptured with the deepest appreciation for you.ย
Now he knows he holds your attention,
โ€œThisโ€”โ€, he points to his chest then, vehemently and with such precision it has your heart stilling for a moment, โ€œโ€”this belongs to you. Always.โ€
A shudder breaks from your lips then, astounded and in awe that he is all yours. Shaking hands fold over his that still are motioning to his own heart.ย
The heart that had been ever so charmed by your delightful presence, so effortlessly whole due to the affections you bestowed upon him over the years of his childhood up til now.
You're each other's eternities, aligned with the stars and the atkorina's. ___ is sure of it now.
He'd orbit around you as long as you wished for him to. A shield and a protector for this lifetime and the ones that followed. Neteyam liked to believe that if there was another life, you'd fall right into place beside one another. That your love would just shift and begin again.ย
If only he knew you thought the exact same thing, especially now as you just appreciate Neteyam for all that he is and who he'll come to be. He has big shoes to fill, but you know he'll be just fine.ย
"As does mine. Always." You whisper with consolation, delicate and saccharine.ย
His heart squeezes, hands darting away from yours to cup your face as he let his head dip into yours.
It was a movement that was second-hand nature to him now, a daily occurrence of sorts.
Neteyam breathes you in, letting your aura wrap around his being.
Your arms capture him in return, fingers trailing down the divots that line his spine as he allows himself to melt into your hold. Tension fusing into ease.
"You're not mad at me?" He questions, mindlessly playing with a strand of your still-damp hair.
"I'm not mad at you, oeyรค hawnu."
His heart flutters then, a light blush dusting his cheeks. He shyly whines into the nape of your neck, your response is to giggle in return.
"You know what calling me that, does to me! I guess it's time to once again show my affection to you in front of all the people!"
You squeal his name as he suddenly lifts you up, throwing over you his shoulder as he wades out into the real world and across the water, away from your little bubble.
Bursts of laughter mingle with the bustling sounds of nature as he makes his way back to your home base.
ย Neteyam will gladly let everyone know how devoted he is to you, to make sure they know that he isn't kidding around when he said you'd be his future muntxate.
In his heart and soul, he knew you were the only person Pandora made for him in the eyes of Eywa. That's how it always will be, is the thought that springs to both of your minds in that very moment. The great mother wishes then she could give you a sign then, but she rectifies herself then.
Your heart beats when with each other speaks enough.

It greeted you in disguise, leaching at every hope that remained after your brother had taken his last breath. Slowly, but surely - its efforts won in the end.ย
After the battle had come to a finish, time stilled once you returned back to the rock. And it escaped you entirely when you returned Neteyam back to Eywa.ย
To Y/n, it did not matter that the Metkayina had accepted her family as one of the people. Is this what it had to take? Her brother being ruthlessly killed by the sky demons to really prove their worth? If anything, it made her feel deeply ashamed - scorned.
Everything around Awa'atlu was a reminder of where he coexisted amongst you. The laughter you shared, the games you'd play with Tuk. The teasing and riding your Ilu's together. It played like an old record, jammed in the forefront of your mind.ย
That was why you couldn't fall back asleep, tonight the onslaught of harsh memories had demanded your attention. Taunting you, egging you on - what you have lost. What won't remain.ย
A frustrated huff fell from you in the silent darkness of your mauri. In the midst of your cuddle pile that your family rested in nightly, there was a gaping space left untouched. The one right beside you.ย
It was where he would reside once turning in for the night. These sleeping arrangements were still something you struggled to grow accustomed to. Even if fatigued gnawed at your eyelids, your heart refused to let you rest.
ย A faint yet distinct figure pushes themselves up from the pile then, Y/n squints her eyes as they start to make their way out of the mauri. They widen in recognition, it was her father. Where was he heading out to this late into the eclipse?ย
Ever so slightly she wriggles and attempts to maneuver out of Lo'ak's hold, the poor boy hadn't been able to disconnect from your side since the unfortunate day. Y/n knows he felt immense guilt for his actions that weren't even his fault.ย
But that was something else to worry about for another day.
As you mimic your dad's movements from moments ago, your head turns to look back at your family. Okay, good. None of them had awoken from their deep slumbers.
Whisking around, Y/n peeps out of their mauri. Heart thudding, but oh - there he is.ย
Jake had seated himself at a spot on top of the boat that had been gifted to your family after your father had been able to successfully ride a Skimwing. The same spot Kiri sat when she and their father shared a conversation, you had only witnessed the end of it. Unfortunately, you and Neteyam had to cut it short after dragging Ao'nung to them and demanding the idiotic boy, confess to his dumb shenanigans.ย
That was the day when you thought you were going to lose Lo'ak.ย
It's crazy how little you knew of back then.
Her heart felt so brittle, knowing it was also the spot that had become her and Neteyam's. After seeing it being used that day, it was where you two would go to have quiet intimate conversations. From your worries as the elder kids, or to any fun things that have occurred that day. The both of you had claimed it, but now it had been abandoned.ย
Y/n hadn't stepped foot close to its vicinity ever sinceโ€ฆ.everything.
Taking a deep sigh to calm herself, she tiptoed over to Jake.
Nevertheless, Jake alert as ever immediately whipped around. Eyes holding something akin to being on the defense.
Raising your hands up in alarm, you whisper to him, "Dad, hey! It's just me, it's just me."
His mouth gapes as he slumped back down. His shoulders promptly drained away the sudden tension that had built up from the shock.ย
"Ah, 'ite. Sorry, you scared me. He spoke, but his voice sounded worlds away.ย
You peer down at him, he wasn't usually one to be scared.ย
"It is okay, sempul. I should have announced my presence. I'm the one who should be sorry."
He rasped out, "Stop apologising, you do not need to apologise!"
Her ears flatten then, folding themselves back. Y/n's tail lowly swishes in anxiousness at his rash tone.ย
"Sempul-" You said in a small panicky voice.
He hushed you, making you sit down by him. Jake brought you into his arms, holding onto you as tight as he could without harming you.ย
"I'm so sorry, sweet girl. I shouldn't have yelled at you." He continued to express his regrets quietly as he rocked you in his arms, chin pressed to the top of your head.
The luminescent ocean ceased its aggravated waves then as if to give you a tender moment of peace.ย
Jake chokes on his next words, and it makes you straighten up in an instant. There's a resounding affliction that lingers in the words that flow out of him like he'd been slammed back to earth.ย
"Losing a twin is far worse in comparison to losing your legs."
The cries saddle him then, and it pierces through your core. He's trembling a worrisome amount, cowering away from your imploring gaze.ย
You've never heard your father cry before. Not like this.
"Ngaytxoa, sempul."ย
It was something you'd only say in dire moments to drive the point home whenever you screwed up really badly. An admission of guilt, something that holds more weight than the sorry's you've been speaking back and forth to each other since the beginning of this encounter.
Jake knew this, far too well actually. It made him tense up.
You know the tales, the struggles he had to overcome when he was disabled. How much he loathed himself and the life earth had carved out and boxed him in. His brother's death was his calling to try to do something greater with his life.ย
Then he became a dream walker, a body that gave him far more solitude than he ever imagined. Jake never wanted to return to his human form due to how in tune he felt with his na'vi body.
The sentence he had just uttered made you frankly realise how burdening his grief must be for him.
His firstborn son, his hopes and dreams. His entire life. Neteyam was his boy. Jake's mighty fisherman, Jake's mighty warrior, Jake's solitude.
ย It all came at you in full force then.ย
The devastated man before you didn't even care about how worthless all the training for Neteyam becoming the future Olo'ekytan came to be. He came to terms with that once he made the tough decision for his family to leave everything they have ever known.ย
It paled in comparison to the remorse he felt for what he could have experienced with his son instead. That was something that bothered Jake to the bone. The fact that he would never be able to make up for the lost time with Neteyam.ย
He'd never be able to share a new moment with him again.ย
The duration of his fatherhood began with Neteyam, and a part of it sunk alongside his child when the sea anemone passed him on to the great mother.
Now you were all that remained of him, and Jake had never felt such immeasurable unsettled shame. His one duty as a father is to protect his children. To guide you through life, to aid you in whatever way was possible for him. Even with the tiny wiggle room you'd given him to do so, he tried his best.ย
For the first time with you though - his best was not enough.ย
Jake failed your family, and in doing so, he failed you.ย
His firstborn daughter, his pride and joy. His softness. You were his unbreaking glue, the one who kept him together. He couldn't utilise that this time, Jake did not deserve that.ย
Although he was a fool to think so cruelly because you were just like him.ย
He too was what remained of a bond so unwavering and mighty. A remnant of what could have been, what has been lost - and what is forced to stay.
While you never witnessed firsthand him experiencing that, he relived it through you and Neteyam. He admired you two graciously, seeing you both flourish amongst one another. How an attachment so noticeable and persistent, only grew in tandem over the years.
Wherever Neteyam and Y/n would be, they swiftly knew they were in the same proximity to each other. Y/n never had to look, she just knew it was him. Jake knows this because he nurtured you, taught you the ways of the people like Neytiri had done for him all those years ago.ย
Two peas in a pod, an impenetrable force. Each other's shadow, each other's light.ย
You both would always weave each other out of the darkness that bloomed in your minds every now and then. Conveying the importance of what life has to offer.ย
Forced to mature at a quicker pace than most kids your age, because the world you lived in demands it. Forced to learn the ways of war when your tiny hands could barely even wrap around a trigger of a gun.ย
He wasn't easy on you two.
Now more than ever, he wished he had been.
"Oh, dad." You mumbled, tears beginning to well up in your own eyes as you tug him back into another embrace.ย
There in his baby daughter's arms, he finally lets it all out. Somber wails ebb into your shoulder as you squeeze him, giving Jake some much-needed security. There, he allows himself to wallow in his grief, letting it finally catch up on him.
At the end of the day, he was a father who had lost one of his greatest accomplishments.
And you were his kid who lost two pillars in her life. Your home, and your twin. It was haunting you every waking moment, the thoughts of what you should be experiencing. What he should be doing.ย
It felt like the world was ridding Jake of all he has to live for, a repetition so caving and tumultuous.ย
"Now your kid has to really follow in your footsteps," is the dread that drills in his mind.ย
You didn't deserve this, once again he felt and harbored the most guilt. It was like he was watching Home Tree fall right before his eyes all over again.ย
It was all his fault, and without exception - always will be.
As if Y/n read his mind, and picked apart all that he currently is. The inner turmoils he had been forced to with had come to an all-time peak.
She soothed, "It's not your fault."
He sighs in return, "Y/n."
You shake your head, that same determination from when you were both trapped in the sinking ship flickering in your eyes.ย
"It is not your fault." You annunciate each word, each syllable.
You survey him, letting out a low scoff at his avoidant eyes.ย
"We cannot do this to ourselves. It cannot be mine, Lo'ak's, or your burden to keep. If we head in that direction, we'll meet that demon ship on the ocean floor."ย
Some of those words sink in with her as well, she knows she can't keep living like this.
Y/n realises that her words aren't resonating with Jake. The man before her was a shell of her father that could usually endure anything that came his way.
Jake was distraught, frantic for answers - why him? Why his family? Why Neteyam?
You survey your surroundings then, trying to see if you can knock him out of the reverie that has taken him by storm. You didn't want to be too abrupt with it, not wanting another abrasive reaction like before to happen.
All you see is the cerulean water.
Y/n lets her hands glide along the tide, cupping some in her hands only to then let it sprinkle over Jake.
He blinks at the sudden cold raining over him.ย
"Sorry, 'ite-"
"I think we should forbid that word from being mentioned for the rest of tonight."ย
Jake lets out a huff through his nose in response.
"Ma sempul, please. Look at me. You haven't properly done so since that night." You plead to him.
He gulps, gripping at the boat beneath him and letting his knuckles turn a stark white.
"I can't." He cries out, eyes squeezing shut in remorse and chagrin.ย
"Yes, you can. Come on, dad."ย
Shaky hands grab at his face, almost slipping at the sheer amount of tears that cascade like a ruthless never-ending waterfall.ย
His heavy eyes try to stay level with your arms that have reached out for his face.ย
Before finally, he looks at you.
A soundless sob rakes through him then, and in return, you shed a few of your own.ย
"I miss him, I miss him so much. I can't sleep, I can barely stomach anything. I can't properly take care of your mother, our family-"
His words stumble out of him at a rapid pace, but you do your best to soothe him as he tries to catch his breath through some sniffles.
"-I can't be a good father while navigating this grief."ย
Finally, he properly exhales. Releasing himself from the internal battles that had kept him restless all this time.
You pat his cheek in reassurance and fondness, "That's where you're wrong. You're being a good father right now."
He inhaled shakily, the waterworks returning to him at your genuine ways of trying to give him comfort. Jake is terrified though, he'd never been this vulnerable with you.
Maybe when you were a lot younger, yes
But life swept you both up, too invested in your own responsibilities. Back then there was time for your father-daughter extravaganzas. A time when he'd be able to take you out in broad daylight and let you go flying with him on his Ikran. Before the sky people returned,ย  before Jake had to reassemble his war party and train them heavily again.ย
A time when being Olo'eyktan wasn't as demanding as it came to be.ย
Jake's hands grab onto yours, inevitable shame still coursing through him.ย
He should be the one comforting you, not the other way around.
But grief demands to be felt. It's not something you can outrun, it'll overtake you eventually.ย
You try to dispel some of his fears.ย
"It's okay right now to feel all these things, sempul. But we can't let it overrule us, we can't let it win."ย
Subconsciously, he squeezes your hand that still lingered on the apple of his cheek. There was an unsettling glimmer that still lay behind his eyes. Y/n knew then, there was a root he had yet to relinquish. There was still something brewing in his head that had been the biggest reason that he'd been kept awake these past few nights.
Y/n tilts her head, wordlessly questioning him. Beckoning Jake to reveal the mangled web that connected everything together.ย
His hands tremor once more, lips wobbling as he struggles to maintain his already fractured composure. The sight leaves a heavy weight on your heart, desperately wanting to know already so you could try to ease the pain.ย
After a moment's reflection, he speaks, "Every time I look at you, I'm so scared it's going to be the last time, 'ite."
Neteyam sighs from above you both then. Eywa looks at him, daring him to voice out his thoughts.
"They are so determined and hard-headed, great mother. You know, the people always said to us that I was more like sa'nok. But she was always a carbon copy of our sempul. Ugh, I miss them."ย
She hums in acknowledgment, the great mother already knowing this.ย
They both return to peer down at the two figures below them.
"I just can't. I won't lose you too." He reiterates then, mind clouded at the thought of losing you the same way you all lost Neteyam.ย
The sky people would cease to exist if they dares to do such an act.
"Sempul, mawey. I am not going anywhere. I am staying right here. I will always be here. He will always be here, I'm sure he is now."ย
Neteyam chuckles at that, how ironic.
ย He points to you excitedly, "see great mother, it's like this twin telepathy thing."ย
Y/n rests the palm of her hand against Jake's chest, where her dad's heart stills.ย
"I do not know what it feels like, to be a parent. But I know what it does feel like, to be your daughter. It is the greatest gift Eywa could ever give me, dad. I won't ever take that for granted, not anymore. You won't lose me, especially not like that." Your words hinted at a darker ending, one you dearly hoped you wouldn't be meeting anytime soon.ย
You'd do anything in your power to keep that promise to your father, it's the least you can do after all the trauma he has had to clamber through.ย
"Ma โ€˜eveng."ย
Y/n gives him a wistful smile, and he returns it with the most genuine grin you've seen ever since the passing.ย
It gave you a semblance of relief. Now having a true grasp of your father's mind as of late, Y/n couldn't help but feel repentant. It'll be alright though, time doesn't have to be kind to you. As long as you are with one another, you'll continue to help him in any way possible to fight his grief.ย
"Thank you, yawntutsyรฌp." Jake beams, and you know you don't have to say anything in return for him to see the gratitude you hold towards him.
You stand then, tugging at his hand for him to come with you.
"Come on old pal, let's get some much-needed sleep."
He scoffed, fingers darting to your sides and pinching them - "I'm not that old!"
Y/n giggles, leaning into him and hugging Jake's waist. He guides you back into the dark of your mauri.
Seeing your family all resting harmoniously gave you a newfound sense of hope. It'll take time to heal and grow from this, sure. But you're the Sully's.
You've made it through the utmost of hell, surely you can make your way back down.
Even if your inner demons continued to nag at your mind, - you stood by your stance then.
Y/n would do it all over again if it meant she could return back to her family at night. If at the end of the day - she can meet them, feel their presence with her. That was enough.
It gave her the greatest consolation that she still felt him then, her tsmukan. Her rey'eng.
Her reason to make it through another day.ย
Y/n's protector who will always and forever be mighty, Neteyam te Suli Tsyeykโ€™itan.ย
He held his hand to his heart then. Neteyam would forever be indebted to Eywa, the boy appreciative that indeed - he could feel you too.

The eldest, born only 7 minutes apart, was no longer there. There had come a time when his presence was so natural, no questions asked - no alarming feeling. He was always her shadow, and if not. Neteyam was there in an instant at her beck and call.ย
They were both spitting images of their mother, they even shared her same deep spiritual connection with Eywa. Even their songcords aligned with each other. Y/n remembers then, how her mother had said such occurrences only really happen with twins. That in itself was a rarity for their clan.ย
Now he was gone, yet she remained. The shadow that loomed over her, escaped as the Eclipse crept up on them.
You blink once, twice. Wiping the tears that you didnโ€™t even realize were streaming down your face. From the corner of her eyes, she can see Loโ€™ak blankly gazing down at his hands which were coated in Neteyamโ€™s blood. She scoots closer to him then, ripping the fringes of her loin-cloth off and dipping it into the water.ย
If Loโ€™ak notices the shakiness of her hands, he doesnโ€™t comment on it. It feels like his tongue had been stapled to the roof of his mouth at that very moment. Alas, his tender heart squeezes a fraction as you use the fabric to try to wipe away the remnants of blood.
A rough voice coming from your father cuts through the sentimental moment.
โ€œWhere are your sisters?โ€ Heโ€™s not intentionally glaring, but his eyes alone felt like he was picking through your soul.
โ€œYour sisters, where are they?โ€ He repeats, more urgency detected in his tone now.
โ€œI donโ€™t know.โ€ Loโ€™ak mumbles, every part of him looking lost.
Your mother's cries of terror grow in volume then.ย
โ€œWhere are they!โ€ Jake bellowed, time was of the essence. Now more than ever.ย
โ€œDad,โ€ Y/n whines out, wishing for him to just take a moment.ย
His eyes meet yours for a moment, before breaking away. He couldnโ€™t look at you right now, doing so would make him lose all of his resolves. Jake had to stay locked, just for a few more moments. Then heโ€™ll have the chance to mourn, to bring you into his arms. To apologize for how now you must live the same faith he had to endure and suffer through.
โ€œOn the ship, they are tied up on the ship.โ€ Tsireya wavers, her grip on Neteyamโ€™s leg not letting up.
Spider's mouth moves, but you donโ€™t hear a thing. Turning back to your brother, you hover over him. Neytiri leans into you as she cradles him to her chest.ย
Jake gets your momโ€™s attention, and by doing so she passes Neteyam to you. Y/n freezes up, feeling how cold he is. Seeing how pale he is. This isnโ€™t her mighty brother, it was a shell of him.ย
As Neytiri flies away on her Ikran, the sound of its wings breaks you out of your reverie. Gently, you lay him back down on the rock before pushing yourself up. Staggering over to Loโ€™aks side, he pulls you into him.ย
Usually, heโ€™d nag about your height difference, but this time he used it to his advantage to briefly tuck his head into your shoulder.ย
Jake looks to Loโ€™ak. โ€œBoth of you, stay with your brother.โ€ย
Loโ€™ak takes a step forward, bringing you with him.ย
โ€œBut dad, I want to go with you,โ€ Loโ€™ak whispers.ย
โ€œPlease, dad,โ€ Y/n begs, unable to fathom sitting by her deceased twin while her sisters were still in harm's way.
Jake shakes his head, โ€œYouโ€™ve done enough.โ€
โ€œNo, dad,โ€ Loโ€™ak breaks. A part of him cracks, the guilt and shame consuming him.
Y/n places a hand on his shoulder, trying to give him some support.ย
โ€œIโ€™m sure he didnโ€™t mean it like that, brother,โ€ Y/n spoke, catching on to where his mind was heading.
There you watch as your dad and Spider become one with the water. Y/n moves back to kneel down beside Tsireya, as she cradles Neteyamโ€™s face and gives him a light kiss on his forehead.
Loโ€™ak takes one last glance at his brother before reluctantly tugging on your arm.ย
Y/n regards him with uncertainty. Before you can question him though, he caresses the side of Tsireyaโ€™s face for a second. โ€œStay with him.โ€
Tsireya flounders, โ€œNo!โ€
He rushes to the edge of the rock, and you can only wince as you apologize to Tsireya for your and Loโ€™aks actions.ย
โ€œIโ€™m sorry, Tsireya.โ€ย
She tries to shout for you guys to come back, but itโ€™s too late. Youโ€™re already both calling for your Iluโ€™s as you jump into the ocean.ย
Iarsรค swam right beneath you, and in an instant, you are gripping her tightly and making tsaheylu. Deep in your brain, you wondered if Neteyamโ€™s Ilu felt the loss you do. What about his Ikran? Oh, Eywa.
โ€œTsmuke!โ€ Loโ€™ak called for you as you started to lag behind a little.ย
Quickening your pace, you moved by him. His worried eyes flittered over to yours.
โ€œTsukan, I am fine.โ€ You tried to reassure him, but you know he saw through it all.ย
His lips pulled down into a frown, but he knew now wasnโ€™t the time to comment back to you.
Either way, he is interrupted by the shocked gasp that leaves your mouth. The ship isnโ€™t too far from you guys now, but itโ€™s beginning to flip over and sink down.ย
Loโ€™ak guided you closer to the ship, haphazardly avoiding miscellaneous floating objects.ย
โ€œThatโ€™s Spider and Kiri!โ€ Loโ€™ak blurted out, his finger pointing at two figures bobbing up and down in the water.ย
Y/n nods, as Loโ€™ak yips to alert them that they are here.ย
โ€œBro!โ€ A light flashes in your eyes, and itโ€™s coming from Spider.ย
A sigh of relief escapes you seeing Kiri alright, but you can still see how distraught she looks. It physically hurts you not to tell her what had just happened, but time was escaping you all even more quickly.
Kiri watches the Ship fully engulfed by the ocean. She trembled, โ€œMom and dad are down there, in the ship!โ€
An alarm rings like an insistent bell in your mind. Of course, no wonder they were alone.
But where is Tuk? Y/nโ€™s conscience is on overdrive, the exhaustion is gnawing at her heavily. Sheโ€™d get nowhere like this, tackle one thing at a time. Thatโ€™s what she needs to do.ย
โ€œGrab on- Y/n!โ€ Loโ€™ak protested as you descended further into the murky waters. Except it was too late, she was already gone.ย
Y/nโ€™s eyes squinted as the water pulled at her skin due to the high speeds she was going at. In spite of that, it did not matter. Nothing mattered more than saving whatever was left of her family.ย
Darting into the first opening of the ship you are able to squeeze through, not without realising the spaces were far too cramped to navigate your Ilu through. With that, you reluctantly release her.ย
The further you descended, the more effort it took to be able to examine your surroundings. You can feel your chest starting to tighten just a little. However, Y/n notices a faint outline of an avatar body ahead of her.ย
It takes every willpower within her to not weep at the sight of your dad twitching against a part of the collapsing ship. Jumping into action, wrapping both of your arms around one of his. Then you tug as hard as you can, back from where you had just come from.
You recalled the air pocket you encountered not too long ago. Yes, that will work for now.ย
The closer you grew to your destination, the more your dad fidgeted in your tight grasp. Then, his arms reached up.ย
Y/n and Jake exhale as they break through the surface.
โ€œDad?โ€ She whimpers her heart, sinking as Jake struggles to catch his breath.ย
He clutches onto the side of the wall, his chest rising up and down far too rapidly.ย
โ€œDad, please. Take a few deep breaths!โ€ She falters when trying to approach him, scared to jolt him even more.
He groans, eyes bleary, โ€œNeteyam?โ€
It felt like an axe had been wedged in your heart. Youโ€™ve dealt with far too much in a span of few hours.
โ€œNo, dad. Itโ€™s Y/nโ€
โ€œOh, Y/nโ€ฆyou just look so much like him.โ€ He struggles to say.
Y/n clenches her eyes closed in despair. She knew that voice, it was the one heโ€™d use to try to weave out of something. Sugarcoating, he had told you when you were younger.ย
She couldnโ€™t help but weigh on the thought that he probably thought he was dead and with Eywa.ย
Sighing, her hand presses into her face. โ€œSorry, I know. You and ma always say that.โ€ย
In a blink of an eye, profound guilt encapsulates her very being. Once again, Y/n has been reminded of Neteyam. What she has lost, what she must now grieve.
Gulping, her voice stammered โ€œIโ€™m sorry, sir. His death was all my fault. I should have done better.โ€
Jakeโ€™s heart lurches at your words, being reminded of Tommy.ย
โ€œFocus, just focus on getting out.โ€ He coughs as the lights behind you flicker. The ship's loud groans rattle in both of your ears.ย
โ€œOkay, okay,โ€ Y/m mumbles to herself. Analyzing her surroundings, she realizes the water is rising at a quicker pace. Dammit.
โ€œWeโ€™re losing air pockets, dad. Come on, letโ€™s go,โ€ She insisted.
Jake lets out sounds of pain as he moves into the corner.
โ€œYou know your way out?โ€ He inquires. Before you look at him with a scrutinizing gaze he takes you in with all his pride. His daughter, his first-ever daughter.ย
Ah, there it is. Furrowed brows and all.ย
โ€œI think so. But dad, youโ€™re gonna have to hold your breath for a while. Okay?โ€ She responded, ignoring the ache in her limbs.ย
You lean into him then, thumbing the blood seeping out from one of the cuts on his face.ย
Just like heโ€™d do to you when you were little, an action so simple whenever youโ€™d hurt yourself. Something you inhabited from him.ย
Thatโ€™s exactly why he canโ€™t keep you here. You still had so much more to live for.
โ€œI canโ€™t make it, but you can. You can, you can.โ€ย
You speak over the top of him, anguish spreading across your facial features. โ€œNo, no-no, dad!โ€
The tone in your voice pitches, conveying the desperation you felt right at that moment.ย
โ€œI refuse, I canโ€™t lose you too. Not you, dad.โ€ She says vehemently. So much finality had been wrapped into that sentence, and he knew that you werenโ€™t going to move.ย
If he canโ€™t make it, then you werenโ€™t leaving his side. Youโ€™re going to stay right here.
He rapidly blinks his eyes, finally clearing his vision properly.ย
Ignoring the pounding from his head, he looks at you. Truly examining you.ย
The face you hold at that moment is the deepest wound to strike him yet from today.ย
Just now, he can see how mature youโ€™ve become in a span of less than a day. It left him with such scorching indignation. No kid should have to grow up this quickly, but the unique circumstances brought upon your family had forced you to do so.
There are tears running down your face, and the seawater should mask it well. But heโ€™s your father, he knows. He can see you clutching something tightly in your hands then. It feels like cinder blocks had been pushed against his gut when he recognizes it to be one of Neteyamโ€™s armbands.ย
Y/n follows his eyes, unclenching her first. He was right.
She swallows, lips trembling. โ€œIt was floating in the ship close to where you were before, maybe it was a sign from him. He was letting me know you were close. I didnโ€™t even realize when it floated into my hand. It must have slipped off before heโ€ฆโ€
A deep frown settles on Jakeโ€™s face whilst hearing you get choked up. He kicks his legs, ignoring the throbbing feeling spreading through his body.ย
He leans his head on top of yours.ย
โ€œIโ€™m so sorry, baby girl. Iโ€™m so sorry.โ€ He coos.
You shook your head, forcing yourself to calm down.ย
After he pressed his lips to your forehead, you lean back from him.
โ€œWeโ€™re running out of time. Okay, you need to be really calm. Breathe down from here.โ€ You press your hand to his lower chest. Mimicking the breathing you learned not too long ago from your dear friend Tsireya.
He follows you, pursing his lips. Inhaling, exhaling.
You close your eyes.
โ€œThe way of water has no beginning and no end.
The sea is around you and in you.ย
The sea is your home before your birth, and after your death.โ€
Your eyes open, watching Jake take your words in. He tries his absolute hardest to ease his mind, just like you had done moments ago.
Good, heโ€™s doing good.
Y/n continues.ย
โ€œThe sea gives, and the sea takes.ย
Water connects all things.
Life to death, darkness to light.โ€
The water is now up to your chin, even as you tilt your head up.
โ€œDad, you can do this. Please.โ€ย
He nods his head, โ€œIโ€™m with you, Y/n.โ€
The words bring you great comfort, your heart now being able to lessen some of its burdens.
Y/n finally smiles.ย
โ€œOkay, last breath. I love you, dad.โ€ย
He winces at the prickling pain but manages to give you a smile in return.
โ€œI love you too, my daughter.โ€
With that, both of you breathe in before going underwater.
You start the treacherous journey out of here, doing your best to retrace the directions you had mapped out in your mind. Making sure to occasionally check back on your dad as you hurdle through random objects that stuck out.ย
Y/n looks behind her shoulder once again, easing up when she sees Jake not too far behind.ย
With a motion of your hand, you wordlessly say โ€œfollow meโ€. A reminder that maybe wasnโ€™t needed, but you had to feed your dad some courage.ย
Your chest begins to constrict a little, but you try to keep your mind elsewhere.ย
You thank Eywa as you see the exit, holding on to the bar as you reach your hand out.
Jake latches on to it as you swim through the opening. There you both try to seamlessly get out from the remainder of the ship. The gap between you and the surface lessening.ย
But Jake begins to slow down significantly. Immediately worried, you wrap your arms around him. Chugging over your limit as you pull him up with you.
Y/n starts to hear the muffled noises of her dad starting to choke.ย
No, no, no. Weโ€™re almost there.
A gush of movement is felt from behind you both.
Loโ€™ak is holding onto Payakanโ€™s fin, using his free arm he darts out to grab your elbow. He tugs you to him.ย
There, you and Jake are able to hold on to the Tulkun for further momentum.ย
The cool air nips at your cheeks as you finally break through the water.ย
โ€œHang on, both of you! Breathe, breathe.โ€ Loโ€™ak urges as he quickly holds your face to see if youโ€™re alright.ย
Y/n bows her head and then goes to personally thank Payakan for saving their lives.
โ€œI see you, son.โ€ She hears, there you gaze as Loโ€™ak and Jake share a bittersweet moment.ย
However, right behind them, you see familiar figures moving closer to you all.
โ€œMa Jake!โ€ Neytiri called.
โ€œDad, dad!โ€ Tuk cried.
โ€œMom!โ€ You and Loโ€™ak gushed.
โ€œCome here, I have you. Itโ€™s Okay.โ€
โ€œTuk, Kiri.โ€ She whispers to herself, finally allowing relief to invade her senses.
Your mother leans over, squeezing both your and Loโ€™aks hands.ย
But you needed more.
Pushing off of Paykan's fin, you swim over to where Neytiri and Tuk was.ย
Neytiri grabs you swiftly, letting you fall into the makeshift circle.
โ€œOh, my yawntutsyรฌp. My sweet, sweet child.โ€ She mumbles, repeatedly kissing your cheek.ย
She could not even begin to fathom the loss you have yet to fully process and grieve for.ย
Another person in the Sully family tree had lost a sibling today.ย
โ€œTsmukan, Tsmuke.โ€ Kiri too leans forward in concern.ย
You just give her a solemn smile, grateful that almost all of you were safe and alive.
She watches her parents embrace before her eyes loom over the empty gap in their family huddle.
It felt like only yesterday how Neteyam would always pinch her and Loโ€™aks ears, โ€œWhy are you guys always forgetting our family meetings?โ€
Huddling closer to one another, while unspoken you each know this event was something that would drastically change all of your lives forever.
โ€œSullyโ€™s stick together. That was their greatest weakness, and their greatest strength.โ€
โ€œThank you, great mother,โ€ Kiri speaks up into the sky.
โ€œYes.โ€ Neytiri echoes.ย
Loโ€™ak gazed at you, then to the sky above.ย
Y/n followed his actions. She was hoping to each mighty being above, that Neteyam was safe and sound. No longer in pain or danger. That was the least her dear brother deserves.ย
As everyone loosened their holds, your parents did the opposite. Instead, they brought you into their arms.
There, they cried with you. Finally having a chance to mourn the loss of your twin, their son.
From above and with Eywa, Neteyam looked down at you all with questioning eyes.
โ€œWhy are they all crying, great mother?โ€ He asked, not being able to understand the entirety of the situation that occurred before him.
Eywa can only give him a saddened smile.ย
โ€œBecause my child, they are grateful to have known you.โ€

THE TAILS OF TSU'TEY AND TONOWARI. | 18+
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
๐š๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ'๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ž : do you see that pun ?? isn't it so funny ?? ^^ hahahahaahahahahahha.. okay here u go whores have sum headcanons ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโ€ผ๏ธโ€ผ๏ธ (i was gonna link the jake sully one but i think everyone and their mom has seen it). this filthy asf i did not hold back. my mind ran and fell out of my ass. edit / ok the bullet points were glitching out for wari but i'm hoping it is okay now!
๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ : MDNI, nsfw, UHMM seggsy times with blue big ass aliens idrk what else to say ?!?!? choking, overstim, brief degrading, mention of somnophilia & oral (f! receiving).
โœฐ ๐“๐Ž๐๐Ž๐–๐€๐‘๐ˆ :
wari knew you were drawn to his tail, for a differing amount of reasons. one of them being that it made you feel really good
and he'd be so consumed by making you feel good, because you're his girl. your pleasure tops everything for him
like his tail is so thick in and the width of it is so girthy lord
"take it like the good girl you are." he'd say as he forces you beneath him and lets his tail gravitate up your leg to where you need him most
i just see his tail acting before he can even fully think of what he was about to do
whether it is in his possessive nature, or just watching out for you
he'd totally use the width and thickness of it to his advantage come on. probably would let it lay in between your plushy thighs and press it against your throbbing clit.
"ahh" he'd say, as he would spit in your mouth - making you swallow it as you grind down on his tail.
I'm not sure how sensitive the metkayinas tails would be considering how different they've adapted to their surroundings, but i'd like to think
if you were to tug on it, it'd still elicit a deep guttural grown from tonowari
he'd fist your hair and smash your lips against his, nibbling at your bottom lip
"yeah? is all of this mine?" he'd growl, hands groping your ass and squeezing it.
wari would whisper such filth to you as his lips hover right over yours, basking in your whines and moans that waver in differing octaves.
"what's wrong, sweetheart? can't take anymore? why? oh...-" he'd let out a low chuckle. "is that it? i don't care. keep going."
his tail would be like. undeniably smooth.. so imagine thigh riding but switch thigh with tail lol!
some of y'all gonna be like wtf!! but dont lie to me ik some of u guys are eating that concept up
like him gripping your hips and pulling you up and down, other hand trailing down to press his thumb on the pearl of your clit and gently just rubs
or when you've made him fucking angry he'd use his tail as some sort of fuck toy until your legs are too sore to keep going.
like he'd give you such a condescending glare, "what? you're spent? when did i tell you to stop?"
tonowari is a beefy man, and with all that strength lordddd you're all gonna be going at it for quite some time !!
like ik for a fact he'd make you use his tail to get off until you reach the point of pure exhaustion
he'd let out a booming laugh, making you comfortable as he just towers over you
"guess it's my turn now"
and his cock would just be so ready for your cunt
and he'd coo at you as you let out something akin to a scream and a cry as your poor lil hole is finally filled with himmm and his balls would just smack at your skin lorddd
there'd be instances where you'd go on midnight swims and his tail would just curve into your waist pushing you closer to his proximity.
he'd have a wolfish grin as your chest presses into this, hands palming at every inch of your skin.
and as things get more heated, more desperate. you'd begin to tug him back to shore, to head to your shared mauri.
but he'd insist with a shake of his head, grasping below your thighs and wrapping them around his waist.
his head would dip down then, hovering over your ear. his breath making the hairs on the back of your head stand.
"how about i just take you here?" like! ok yes pls-
i can just imagine his tail sometimes pushing the ends of your hair back so he could have access to your chest, kissing you everywhere.
like not to deter but tonowari is such a boobs guy like he'd fr suck on your nipples while bucking into you real deep.
mans has such a high sexdrive like, he's going to crave you constantly. especially if he didn't have a successful hunt, or people in the clan are way to up his ass that day.
either he'd fuck you into oblivion, or just sit back and let you use him however you wish.
his tail swishes ever so slightly at the mere thought of you, that's the affect you have on him.
he doesn't know if it's possible but the next thing on his kink list is to definitely somehow choke you with his tail as he fucks you.
you'll have more than enough time together alone, (especially on your night escapades) for him to really test those, so be ready
โœฐ ๐“๐’๐”'๐“๐„๐˜ :
let me just say. he'd be gripping your throat as his lips are so precise with the way they kiss yours in that very moment
and you wouldn't acknowledge it at first as he leans in closer to you. not even realising his tail that trails up your leg
but then it would tug at your loin cloth. once to check how tightly it is on. two to check the waters. 3 to rip it right off of you.
and you'd gasp in shock as the cool air hits your already wet pussy
tilting his head, a coy smirk graced his lips as his forefinger ever so softly dragged through your folds
"ah, what have i done to already make you this wet. do tell."
your hips would jolt then, desperate for more friction, for him to fill you up
the smirk would drop, tsking at you as one of his large hands would push down on your lower tummy to keep you settled
you'd take a deep inhale of breath, both your eyes following the tail that once again trailed up your leg
this time it'd wrap itself around your breasts, squeezing. it was pure erotic, back arching and everything.
the smoothness and how sleek it was, the way it pressed down on your chest - had your eyes closing in pure utter ecstasy
"that's right, use it like it's my cock. there you go, baby. yes." he'd urge you when you are having sex
he'd be very watchful of your reactions, solely just wanting to please you and make you feel good
like can you imagine at a bonfire one night, tsu'tey had gone off to get your food
you're just happily waiting for him when suddenly another man from the clan approaches, trying to seduce you to follow him to the forest
you'd respectfully declined, knowing that of his true intentions behind his words - but he wasn't seeming to go without staking a claim on you
did he live under a rock? oh no tsu-tey
tsu'teys hands are preoccupied, anger making his posture stiffen ever so more as he quickened his pace over to you
"i am taken, i have a mate. please leave before he-"
he makes himself known from behind you, balacing the food on his hands as he uses his tail to smack the wrist of the mans hand that was trying to make its way to your face
"you heard her, leave. before i take out all your teeth and beat you to-"
"tsu'tey!" you'd hiss, arms wrapping around his waist.
he'd snap out of it, glowering at the pathetic excuse of a man as he scampered off.
your cheeks flush as you realised his tail now seemed to wrap itself right above your loin cloth - an action he'd do unintentionally when feeling possessive
after your meal,, let's just say he was still starving for some more
the way he'd restrict your hand by his tail, or how the swishing motion of it would tenderly linger on your legs when he'd devour your pussy
"shhh, don't want the rest of the hunting party to you hear you. unless you do?" he'd say as he had you against a tree and completely having his way with you
i can see his tail having a mind of its own while he's asleep sometimes,, like he'd be having quite a vivid dream of you
and suddenly his tail would just be pressed against you, in a tired haze you'd try to ignore the pressure
but with tsu'tey spooning you and now unintentionally rutting against you, his tail seems to be growing in sensitivity as it curls against you
the feeling of the fur at the end of it brushing your upper thighs is what would finally jolt you awake
i can just imagine his tail trailing down the dip in your spine as you ride him, or the best part
when you'd surprise him by tugging on it
it'd happen at those times where its your turn to take control during your nighttime charades,, yk y'all like to switch it up
just a lil tug is all it takes sometimes
he'd harshly bite down on his bottom lip, "y'n" he'd let out in a low growl that makes you clench and squeeze down on his cock even more
eyes rolling to the back of his head, jaw and thighs clenching in sheer pleasure as the feeling of it equates to that of him teetering over the age of bustin
he'd definitely use his tail to choke you out when you're about to cum
i just feel like tails can do so much more than depict the emotions he is feeling at that very moment
he'd honestly use it however way you wish for him too as long as you're fine with it and it makes you feel good
like him fucking you from behind as his hands grip at your ass and his tail wraps around your hair and tug on it...??? damnnn

Neteyam and yourself were a force to reckon with. Your souls are intertwined and saved for one another. It was unspoken throughout the clan that you would be each other's mates when the right time came. An official seal, partners for a lifetime - even once your spirit settles with Eywa.
That's how it was supposed to be.
๐“๐‡๐„ ๐…๐ˆ๐‘๐’๐“ ๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐„.
๐‡๐„ ๐–๐€๐’ ๐Ž๐ ๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐„, he had been worried that due to his father's insistent training, he would have missed the date you'd planned. As he made his way through the clearing of your "secret spot", he immediately halted. Getting into a defensive stance as he reached for his bow and arrows.
You stood still, while a few meters away from you - a Thanator crept closer and closer. Y/n had not thought to bring her bow and arrows, only a hunting knife.
For once she had not thought to bring more protection, just wanting to be at peace with her favourite person. She didn't know she would stumble into any trouble, they weren't even that far from home.
In the Omaticaya clan, you were the most sought out for your hunting skills. But nothing could prepare you for this. While hand-on-hand combat was something you continued to learn from Toruk Makto, you'd only seen a Thanator in the wild very few times. You knew to never engage, hide and calm your breathing - do not make contact.
But it was too late for that now, wasn't it?
Neteyam's heart missed a beat, but the arrow he aimed at the Thanator didn't. It pierced through one of its legs. Letting out a ferocious raw as it barred its teeth at you both. He didn't stand down, shooting another arrow - this time sinking into its other leg.
The Thanator let out a low whine, its eyes calculating. Before pivoting and disappearing back into the jungle.
It was silent for a few moments, the adrenaline still ramping itself up in both your bones. Making your way over to him you brought him into a hug, leaning your head on his chest.
It felt like leaves had been shoved down your throat as you struggled to speak from the sheer shock. "Always my savior, thank you 'Teyam."
He scoffed, smoothing down your braids and pressing his lips to your forehead not letting up. He muttered against your skin, so gently.
"That could have gone a lot worse, yawntu." His eyes flittered around your surroundings, his ears perked up and tail swooshing in high alert still.
Squeezing his shoulders, you tried to ease some of his tension. Rubbing your nose against his, before taking a step back.
"But it didn't! My warrior, the mighty Neteyam Sully! The crowd goes wild, ahhhh!" You cupped your hands around your mouth, making a show of it all.
Rolling his eyes at your childish actions, he bent down retrieving what his dad called a "picnic mat" and the basket you had hand-woven for these special occasions.
"Come on, silly. Let's head back, the Thanator could still be around for all we know."
You pouted at his words, accepting the free hand he held out for you.
"What about our date?"
"We could do it at the stream closer to home."
"Okay fine, I can get behind that."
He ruffled your hair, admiring your feline-like eyes that squinted at the gleaming sun. Your nose scrunching at the force of it all.
Yeah, he'd never get tired of this.
His soul felt electrified whenever he was in your presence. You brought out a side of him that he concealed to try to live up to the mantle of "the golden child".
You were aware of the pressure and how tiring it made him feel. The demand was ultimately too much for someone as young as him to carry on his shoulders sometimes. But he looked up to his parents, and Y/n couldn't blame him for doing so.
He's your other half, and you'll always support him and his endeavors.
That's why you loved moments like these, not including the Thanator. But you felt reassured that he'd always have your back, as you would with his. It felt like second nature to you at this point.
Loving Neteyam.
This was the way of life for you both, and while it sometimes got a little messy - you always found your personal ways back to one another. Even when duty calls, even if you only catch glimpses of each other for a few days.
He would always leave a mark on you, whether it was the multitude of armbands he would weave intricately for you. The ones he'd whine for you to wear so your clan knew of his intentions as if they didn't already. Or perhaps a searing kiss full of yearning and a lifetime of promises.
Neteyam kept to himself a lot, due to his constant strenuous training he didn't mingle like other kids his age would. Sure maybe with the elders, but he didn't exactly have a core group of friends his age - only his family.
And you, you.
His normalcy amongst the ever so often brewing chaos. A semblance of ease always coursed through him even when you'd bask in each other's presence in silence. He greatly valued anytime he had with you, and when he wasn't with you. Neteyam would always think of you and worship the ground you walked on.
Like how you felt loving him was second nature, the thought of you circling his mind came as easy to him as the action of breathing.
That's who you are to each other, always filling in the cracks. Not leaving a rock unturned, words did not have to be spoken out loud to prove your inclination to one another. It was already written in both of your dispositions.
A devotion so boundless does come with conflict though.
But you didn't ponder on that for the time being, instead, you let Neteyam guide you back home. The date had yet to even properly start.
If only you knew he'd be called back to his duties as the chief's son.
๐“๐‡๐„ ๐’๐„๐‚๐Ž๐๐ƒ ๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐„.
This wasn't the plan. All Lo'ak had wanted to do was see some sort of wreckage that had been left behind from the war his father had led.
You were going to stay behind but Tuk insisted she wanted you to come with them, and that you had to join her. There was no way you could deny her cute pout and glassy amber eyes.
So you did just that, you accompanied them.
Time seemed to escape you all, too enthralled by what was left of the wreckage from what seemed to be a demon-flying mechanism of sorts that had been brought down. The foliage that surrounded you all as Woodsprites twinkled and fluttered with the soothing breeze.
After you all got back down from the tree and found Kiri, it was time to make the trek back home.
"We really need to head back before the Eclipse comes kiddos. Come on, move it! Let's go!" You mused, urging them to quicken their pace.
You halted as Lo'ak and Spider peered down at a large footprint.
"What is it?" Kiri insisted.
"We're always supposed to be home by eclipse", Tuk worried. Y/n patted her head in comfort as she looked down at the marking molded into the mud.
"That's way too big for a human", Lo'ak noted.
"Avatars?" Spider questioned in response.
"Maybe..." Lo'ak trailed off as he looked around him.
Lo'ak was suddenly determined to find out who they had belonged too. "They're for sure not ours."
"What are you doing?" Kiri inquired, confused as to why they were straying away from the direction that would guide them back to base.
"Shh, tracking." He controlled his steps as you all reluctantly followed him.
"This is ridiculous, I am not letting Neteyam take the blame for this one," Y/n stressed. Knowing somehow he'd try to put the baggage of this situation back on him.
Tuk mumbled Neteyam, under her breath, and smiled. Making you ease your worries and grin down at her. You loved the bond they shared.
You cursed to yourself as you crouched down behind some leaves. Staying vigilant, your grip on your bow tightened as you made sure to be hyperaware of any sudden noises surrounding you all.
Nervously you bit down on your bottom lips as you saw figures up ahead. Avatars in military gear? This isn't looking good.
Kiri sensing your worries, placed a hand on your shoulder as she looked at the Avatars as well. "We are never supposed to come here."
"Dad is going to ground you-", She continued whispering quietly
"Shhh, shhh."
"- for life!" You nodded your head in agreement as you flicked Lo'aks ear in annoyance.
"Ow!" He muttered quietly glaring at you, only to cower down at your fierce glare.
"Yo, we gotta go check this out," Lo'ak turned back around and said to Spider, nodding his head over to the infamous old shack. The place where the demon (Spider's dad) and Jake Sully had fought.
Y/n hissed at them, grabbing Lo'ak by his ear (again). He smacked her arm at the action.
"You two dipshits are really pushing it this time!" Y/n fumed, if she wasn't on edge before - she's definitely dangling over it now.
"It's going to be fine, we'll be on our own merry way before you know it! Now please, let go of my ear!" Lo'ak insisted, you rolled your eyes before letting it go.
She knew better than to put a stop to his actions because she simply couldn't. Lo'ak was an unstoppable force once he sets his mind on doing something.
Kiri groaned quietly. "Skxwang."
Your gut had a bad feeling about all this. This needs to be called in. They weren't like your people. Avatars that were carrying a lot of deadly weaponry. The ones that would come from the raids ordered by your Olo'eyktan. These people were dangerous.
Great mother, you gotta get out of here.
Keeping a close eye on Lo'ak and Spider, you whispered to Kiri and Tuk.
"Get ready to head out." They nodded at you, starting to realise the seriousness of this situation.
Lo'ak seemed to have read your mind, as they made their way back to the rest of you guys - he pressed his comms button attached to his upper neck.
He conversed with his father, telling him what he could see about the Avatars. Their location and who he was with.
You listened in with your own comms, one that Jake and Neytiri had graciously gifted to you.
Neteyam growled at the mention of your name and Tuk's.
"Y/n is there?" Neteyam asked through clenched teeth. The grip he had on his Ikran tightened turning his once blue knuckles almost stark white.
"It's going to be fine, yawntu. We're moving out." You tried your best to reassure him.
Neteyam looked at his parents, they could only nod at him to help him regain focus. Neytiri had only seen such worry cross her son's features very few times, she too knew this was a dire situation.
Neteyam closed his eyes for a short moment, processing. "Okay, we're on our way. I'm taking our shortcut."
Lo'ak looked at you in question, but you ignored it. Now is not the time.
"Hurry, let's go!" You ushered them out from the bushes, trying to head as far away from the old shack as you possibly could. You made sure to stay behind all of them, constantly turning your head to look back.
"We're all going to be in so much trouble!" Kiri spoke in a hushed tone.
Lo'ak turned to his sister. "Kiri, stop."
"Guys, come on!" Spider said.
Tuk looked back at you all. "It's almost Eclipse, come on!"
You were about to agree with Tuk before a pair of arms reached out from the hanging branches - grabbing onto her small body.
Her shrill scream immediately shifted you into the headspace you'd enter when on raids. Clasping your bow and arrow you aimed it at the unknown Na'vi. Before you could release the arrow, more of them popped out from the foliage surrounding you all.
Hissing, you put your backs against one another as they closed in on you guys.
"Put it down, put it down!" They ordered.
There was a lot of commotion, and you noted how they were speaking in English and not your native tongue. They definitely aren't from here, even if their bodies say otherwise. A lot of commotion was occurring, but your eyes never strayed from Tuks.
Lo'ak cautioned you all, "Guys. Put it down, put it down." He spoke in your language, you'll tell him how smart he is for doing so later.
You snarled but followed him. You knew there were too many of them, there was no way of getting out of this unless one of you got hurt. Trying to strategize you thought of ways to work yourself all out of this situation. But it was too late, they apprehended all of you.
"Mawey, Mawey." Kiri tried to calm Tuk down through all the yelling and sudden movements.
"Shut up, don't move!"
"What have we here?" One of them said. But he seemed different to the rest, more commandeering, and authoritative. He was the leader for sure.
It seemed Y/n's thoughts not too long ago predicted what was about to happen.
Before you knew it. You knocked your forehead into the Na'vi whose hand lingered too long on your waist and gripped tightly on your braids.
He retaliated by smacking your head with the barrel of his gun. Laughing as you fell to the ground, face being pushed further into the floor by the sole of his boot that he was wearing.
He chuckled, pressing down harder earning a grunt of pain from you. "We got ourselves a feisty one, would you look at that!" His comrades laughed and jeered at his comment.
Your friends though, oh they were livid.
"Y/n!" Tuk wailed for you, as Lo'ak did his best to not cause mayhem.
"Get up." You groaned as he anchored you up by your braids. Y/n looked at her armband through her blurry vision, reminding herself to not cause more of a scene. For she feared what she could lose.
"Mawey, Mawey, I'm alright." You choked out, continuing like Lo'ak to speak Na'vi.
"As I was gonna say before I was so rudely interrupted." The leader once again spoke. He looked at each one of you inquisitively, before one of his people showed him Kiri's hands.
These were the times you were grateful that the Sully children wanted you to learn english alongside them. You caught on to what they were assuming about Kiri. All of you did.
Y/n barred her teeth as the idiotic man once again yanked on Kiri's hair, feeling panicky as their leader approached Lo'ak.
He demanded Lo'ak to show him his fingers, only to get flipped off. You could only watch in pride, he truly was his father's son.
As he continued to nag at Lo'ak you could only ponder what they wanted from all of you, how could they know these were the children of Toruk Makto?
"No!" Y/n protested as he put a knife to Lo'aks neck. But the man holding her captive only strengthened the grip he had on her head of hair. You knew he wouldn't disclose his dads whereabouts, and they didn't need to know either that they were already on their way to help you all out.
When the leader spoke in Na'vi it took everything in your willpower to not mock him for how butchered his pronunciation was. These were definitely people from the sky.
"Get away from her!" Y/n screamed as Spider and Lo'ak joined alongside her telling him to get the hell away from Kiri.
As he spoke to Spider, your eyes met Kiri's. She worriedly glanced at your bleeding head from the gun being slammed into you. But to soothe her you simply mouthed that you were okay.
You were all going to get out of this, alive.
"Miles?"
"Nobody calls me that," Spider said in response.
Your eyes widened in realisation, as did Lo'ak and Kiri's. The man standing before you was Miles Quaritch, Spider's father who was supposed to be deceased.
The sky demon who raged war on your homeland, the one who had killed your father in battle.
You were not about to let him take away any more of your family. Y/n wanted to kill him. How dare he have a second chance at life, in a world like Pandora which he completely takes for granted?
Quaritch stands up, gazing around. "We are standing by for extract, over."
Extract? No, they aren't here yet.
Y/n struggled to fight against the tight hold on her as they started to move away from where they'd been ambushed.
"Let us go!" Kiri begged, pain evident in her voice. You could only shake your head at her, not wanting for her to receive the same brutal treatment you'd just experienced.
"Shut up!" The bald ugly one seethed. Demon trash.
As you were shoved to the ground you could only look up at the clear skies above you. Silently, Y/n prayed to Eywa in hopes they'd be rescued before it was too late.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
Eclipse was nearing, and the gleaming sun was starting to fade away and rest for the night. You only wished you could do the same, but being held as a "viable prisoner" unfortunately hinders that.
But not too far from where you and the rest waited to be saved, there were three people who landed on a tree branch. Hopping off their Ikrans, they sought to do just that. To save the ones they loved most.
"You stay with the Ikrans," Jake ordered his son.
Neteyam could only shut his eyes in annoyance, his stance shifting to convey his determination. There was a fire burning in his eyes, and it wasn't going to cease any time soon.
"Dad, I'm a warrior like you. I'm supposed to fight," He urged. No, he pleaded.
He could not just stand here and tend to the Ikrans. The mere thought of doing so was agonizing enough for him. To wait for you and his siblings to return safely.
The boy could only let his fingertips brush against the choker you had made and gifted him only the night before.
"Neteyam," Neytiri understood her son's worries. But she already had more than enough on her plate.
Jake gave a slight shake of his head, "I won't say it again."
"But dad! She's-", He tried to counteract. Sway his parents somehow, his hands yearned for revenge. The anguish on the tip of his tongue, his bow weighing on his back like a ton of bricks.
"I know, son. And I will get her back too. Just, stay here." Jake sighed, placing his hand on Neteyam's shoulder for a moment.
Before Neteyam could try to rebut, his parents had already begun venturing off methodically.
"Yes sir." He muttered to himself, walking back over to his Ikran and placing a gentle hand on it.
He had to think of his own plan.
Meanwhile, the bioluminescence beginning to flourish right before your eyes made your heart stumble on itself. She didn't know who was going to arrive first anymore. Her saviors, or soon-to-be tormentors.
Your thoughts continued to remain astray as the rain pelted down on your skin. Y/n did not let it show how the water seeping into her open wound located at the side of her head had caused her immense pain. Instead, she clenched her jaw and continued to watch over her family.
Y/n's ears perked at the static coming from a set of comms, something, something. 3 minutes.
She had to resort to something else then, she has to devise her own plan.
Quaritch though, couldn't shake a feeling that something was awry.
"Watch our 6."
You tried to angle your head to try to watch over Spider and Kiri. Only to fall short at the harsh tug of your ear.
"Keep your eyes forward."
You glared into nothingness, Y/n had never felt so utterly disposable.
Neytiri could only watch on as she pressed herself further into the tree. She had a clear sight of all of you. Something untamed bubbled within her having to witness her children in such a vulnerable state.
Then you heard it, Neytiri's call. Sounding again and again. To any person it'd sound like one of the many animals dominating the jungle, but you knew otherwise.
Catching on to this, Lo'ak gave an affirmative nod to all of you.
It's time.
Kiri prayed to Eywa, hoping to assure her mother's safety in whatever was about to ensue. But you knew the cards had been dealt, now it was time for all of you to follow along.
Instantaneously a familiar arrow sunk into the head of the man who had been guarding Kiri and Spider.
"Contact made!"
Frazzled by the gunshots, you heard a faint call of Lo'aks name. Suddenly a green mist evaded your senses.
Y/n knew now was her chance to escape.
She felt it was only right to let karma be her bitch. As soon as the chamber of the gun the man who had been guarding Y/n had emptied. He maneuvered to replace it, but before he could get far enough - you played your card.
Grasping the front of the gun, ignoring the burn from the gunpowder. You slammed it into the perpetrator's chin, making him stumble backward. Closing your fist, you landed a punch to his face for good measure.
"Tuk, race. Y/n, come on!" Lo'ak yelled for you.
As you began to run towards him, a hand wrapped around your ankle making you propel onto the dirt beneath you. Groaning, you tried to crawl away far enough to push yourself up. But something had glinted in your peripheral.
Your knife. It must have dropped from whoever had them after Neytiri shot her first arrow. You'd thank Neteyam later for having polished your knife when he added new decorative beads to it.
Choking for air, your fingertips brushed against it but a sheer force pushed your arms away from it. You snarled in pain, having reached your limit with this pathetic demon.
Channeling everything you'd learned in all your training back with your clan, you ignored the searing ache. The back of your head met his face with a sharp force.
In his moment of weakness, you scrambled for your knife. This time successfully getting it in your grasp.
You crouched in a defensive stance before him, letting out a vicious hiss as you clutched onto your knife.
"You're gonna pay-", He started to say.
You gasped, both your eyes trailing down to the arrow now wedged in his chest. He could only let out a low groan, trying to advance toward you.
Only he went flying back, another arrow hitting him dead in the forehead. But they weren't from Neytiri.
Pivoting you let out something akin to a choked sob or heave, "Neteyam!"
There he stood strong and mighty as ever. Hidden amongst the nature the jungle provides.
He'd never heard you utter his name like that. The eldest son was so used to it leaving your plush lips in either a tone of endearment or humor. Always enraptured in strings of warmth and grace.
But the way you had just spoken his name, rooted him into the ground. Neteyam never heard you so debilitated, so disoriented. It made his skin crawl in agony.
The gunshots sucked him right back in. He lunged towards you, pulling you away from the mayhem.
"Na'vi!" Someone behind you hollered.
"Rot in hell!" Your scream was directed at your tormentor, you hoped he was still alive to hear those words.
Neteyam pushed you behind him, loading his bow. But before he could shoot again you both were tackled down by Jake.
"Go! Go! Go!" He shouted, pushing you two forward as gunshots rang out.
All of you found temporary solace behind a tree trunk, Jake's arm reached out checking over you both. His eyes widened at how beaten down you looked.
"Follow me! Ready? Ready!" Jake instructed you both. This time it wasn't training though, it was life or death.
Jake stepped out, firing a few bullets at the enemies.
"Move!" Jake bellowed.
You jumped into action, pumping your legs as you run. The chilled air wooshed in your ears and nipped at your cheeks. You hauled yourself over the roots of the trees engulfing you. Narrowly, missing the gunshots as you reminded yourself to not look back.
It didn't sit well with Jake how he was the one ahead and you two were behind him. "Come on!" He yelled.
Neteyam grabbed your hips, pushing you over an abnormally larger root than the rest of the others, understanding the pain you must be in right now.
He knew you were more than capable of getting over it. He just wouldn't be able to get over himself if you sustained even more injuries. It also gave him great comfort being able to see you right in front of him.
You don't know how long you ran for, only finally coming to a stop in a small clearing. Falling to your knees, you tried to catch your breath.
Neteyam had so much to say as he looked down at you, but he physically was in too much shock at the moment. So he chose to settle down beside you, bringing you into his arms carefully.
Jake brought you two once again - to a tree. There you leaned against it, waiting in silence for everyone else.
Soon the rustling of leaves grabbed your attention. Jake held a warning hand to you both, signaling you guys to stay put.
Lo'ak and Tuk made their way to you guys. Giving each other tender hugs, you graciously thanked Eywa for keeping them safe.
As Lo'ak leaned his head on your shoulder, he mumbled an apology to you.
"I'm so sorry for leaving you behind. Tuk was terrified, and I had to get her out of there."
You patted his head, allowing him to lean back and look at you.
"You did what was right, Lo'ak. I have no ill feelings toward you. I'm just grateful you're both okay." Y/n reassured him, as she kissed Tuk on the forehead.
Movement suddenly came from behind you, Jake pushed you and his children behind him - again.
Breaking out from the foliage was a worrisome Kiri and Neytiri.
"Mom!" Tuk cried, running to them. You sluggishly followed her.
Neytiri brought you, girls, into a hug as she too thanked Eywa numerous times that you were all here. She'd never had a reminder as harsh as this.
What she could have just lost.
Neteyam gravitated towards you after Jake embraced both him and Lo'ak.
He looked over at you, eyes and hands trailing.
"We need to get you patched up, grandma can help." He whispered to you, hands hovering over your bruised face.
Inwardly, Neteyam was seething. So many rhetorical questions were prodding at his brain. How you were already wounded when he first saw you? What else had they done to you?
Y/n crooned - "No, no. I'm fine, I'm okay."
"You are not!" He grunted.
His eyes looked dazed, far away. Neteyam was still in a state of terror. Not only had his siblings been put in danger, but his partner in crime as well. His person, was right in the thick of it.
He didn't want to linger on what could have happened if he and his parents came any later. He didn't want to fathom the thought of not just Spider being abducted, but all of you as well.
If his arrow had missed, if anything had gone remotely wrong...
As if you could read his mind, somehow capture his thoughts. Your thumb brushed over his cheek. Your other hand moving to cradle the back of his head as your hand sunk into his braids. Treading your fingers through it you leaned your head against his.
"I'm right here, Neteyam. We're all going to be okay."
Neteyam could only nod as he brought you into another longing embrace.
He'd do whatever it takes for you to stay by each other's sides. Whatever it takes, he will always protect you. Even when he is gone from this world, he vowed to himself right then and there - that he'd still look out for you.
๐“๐‡๐„ ๐•๐„๐‘๐˜ ๐‹๐€๐’๐“ ๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐„.
Awa'atlu grew on you over time. It took a while, a lot of adjusting, and taking new things in stride. But you made it this far now, and you felt like maybe this place was truly becoming your home.
It truly felt like a juxtaposition, from the forest - now to the water. Somehow it brought you comfort, Eywa constructed such beautiful places. The community around you, while hostile at first - was also beginning to warm up to all of you too.
Alongside your mother, you had followed the Sullys as you seek out a new place that would hopefully grant you Uturu.
It was truly a challenge, having to stay hidden to keep the people back in your clan safe. You knew it was the right call.
But now the tides were pulling themselves in, dread encompassing the place you were still trying to gain more understanding of.
Your luck was running thin. All you wanted to do was help Lo'ak save Payakan. To be there for your people, your new clan.
It seemed the world had other plans though.
Now you were stuck on the demon ship. Handcuffed to the rails alongside Lo'ak, Tsireya, and Tuk. Snarling you checked the restraints out, you realised you'd have to cut into it to be released. Dammit.
"Be brave," Lo'ak tried to remain optimistic.
Y/n could only hope that Neteyam had gotten back to safety far away from all this.
All your ears perked up, hearing the distinct calls of the Metkayina clan. You could see them in the distance flying on their Skimwings towards the ship.
"Na'vi inbound!" Someone yelled.
"Push left, spread out." Another commanded them.
Tuk had faith, they were all going to get out of this alive. "Dad," she called out to him.
"It's Sully."
Quaritch ripped the comms off from Lo'ak as the Metkayina came to a still in the water a few hundred yards away from you all.
"Jake, tell your friends to stand down. If you want your kids back, you'll come out alone." Quatrich asserted, grasping his gun and pressing it to the side of Lo'aks head.
Tsireya and you yelled for him to stop, whilst Tuk began to cry.
"You know better to test my result."
Y/n wished she could listen in, but she looked around for her mother instead. She noted how Neytiri and Melรฌew were nowhere to be seen. Must be up in the sky, hovering.
Quaritch was running out of patience, he moved the gun to your head instead.
"She took one of ours, maybe it's time to take one of yours. Like I said, do not test me!" You held your breath, trying not to make any sudden sound or movement.
Your blood ran cold, Y/n did not want to die this way. Especially not now, not when she has so much more reasons to live and experiences to fulfill.
Through gritted teeth, Quaritch challenged Jake. "Do I make myself clear?"
He stepped back, the weight of the gun easing off your head. Y/n looked on to where Jake and the Olo'eyktan and Tsahรฌk were having a heated discussion.
It gave you a moment to ponder on Quaritch's words from before. She hadn't killed one of the sky people. But Neteyam did.
In the midst of all the fighting, it must have looked to them like it had been her doing. Whatever, that was the least of her worries at this time being.
Quaritch once again spoke to Jake through the stolen comms. "Offers beginning to expire. What's it gonna be?"
Y/n looked to Lo'ak after hearing him curse quietly, following his eyes you saw his father pushing on - alone.
"Easy shot." One of the fake Na'vi beckoned.
"You hit him now, they attack. Wait until he's on board."
Lo'ak and yourself let out frustrated groans through harshly gritted teeth. You were defenseless.
Abruptly water shot up as a familiar looking Tulkun shot out from beneath the ocean.
"Payakan", Tuk yelled out.
Water rained down on you all as he launched himself on top of the ship. You watched in astonishment as he wreaked havoc.
"Argh!" You grunted, pushing a nearby soldier to Payakan. Lo'ak mimicked your actions as he called out for his brother.
"Yeah!" Lo'ak whooped.
"Holy shit," You gaped as Payakan deflected the harpoon and dove back into the ocean.
The sound of gunshots had your ears ringing as you watched the Metkayina charge at the sky people. Sighing in relief as you saw your mother on her Ikran flying side by side with Neytiri.
Y/n could only observe as the sky people hopped on their own Ikrans and flew upwards. While everyone fought each other you used this to your advantage, trying to break free from your restraints.
Neytiri and your mother flew over the ship, looking down at their children in horror. Both of them shot arrows into the gunships that attempted to fly into the battle.
The ship suddenly jerked, before moving at a far faster pace. Shrieking as you were suddenly suspended in the air, before knocking back down onto the ship.
Water sprayed at all of you on impact. Lo'ak let out a pained groan as he pushed himself up, kicking at the rails.
"Are you okay," he asked all of you. You all nodded, before following his motions and kicking the rail as well.
Alarms sounded all around the ship. You needed to get out of here.
Suddenly, Tuk gasped gleefully. "Neteyam!"
Your head whipped to the side, distracted by pushing at the railing.
He held a knife in his head, grinning - "Hey baby brother, you need some help?"
"You're ridiculous," Y/n mused. Her heart soared at the sight of her boyfriend unharmed.
"Shut up, come on!" Lo'ak replied, looking over his shoulders to see no one was paying attention to them.
He quickly cut Tsireya out of her restraints, and moving onto Tuk he did the same.
Now it was your turn.
He gazes into your eyes, fighting off the instinct to caress your face. Cutting you out of your restraints, he could finally breathe easier. His hands hovered over your wrists seeing the angry red marks that now tainted your deep blue skin.
He looked to Tsireya and you, "Get tuk out of here."
Nodding, you grasped onto Tuk's arm running to the edge of the ship. You turned around as Neteyam stumbled towards you, eyes squinting seeing Lo'ak had rushed the other way.
"Lo'ak!" He called for his brother, making his way back to him as the younger brother grabbed a gun. You watched them bicker back and forth, rolling your eyes at their idiotic antics.
"Tsireya go, we'll meet you there," Y/n said as she took her knife out.
"No, Y/n!" Tuk pouted at you.
Leaning down you kissed her forehead, "I'll be back soon".
Y/n nodded at Tsireya before making her way over to the two Skxwangs.
"Come on bro, we can't leave him!"
You tugged on Neteyam's arm, "What's going on?"
"We've gotta get Spider!" Lo'ak exclaimed.
Y/n tilted her head up to meet Neteyam's eyes. He look troubled, but he knew if he didn't follow - Lo'ak would venture on this mission by himself.
It's just, something felt off.
You knew in those few seconds, Neteyam had the same gut feeling you did. It wasn't that you didn't want to save Spider, but the circumstances of everything were already against you all. Y/n had a terrible feeling about this, and the last time she had this feeling was at the Old Shack.
But you weren't going to leave them behind. Looking around, you also decided to pick up a gun.
Neteyam, realising the intent of your actions fought against them weakly. "No, go with Tuk."
You stared him down. He knew you already made up your mind.
Sighing, he pushed you in front of him. Each of you crept further into the ship, jumping on a nearby wall and climbing to the ceiling.
Y/n tuned out the sounds of the people running beneath her frantically. Choosing to continue to move along.
The three of you made your way onto some sort of connecting platform. Lo'ak put a finger to his lips, before pointing down below. Neteyam and Y/n peered over the edge, seeing Spider being guarded by multiple men.
As they rounded the corner, Neteyam signed "Jump down when I do".
In a matter of seconds he leaped down, you and Lo'ak closely following behind. You pushed one of the men into the nearest wall, immediately slicing his throat.
A hand came at your shoulder and gripped it harshly, but you quickly grabbed it as you turned around. Slamming the man into the ground you leaned down, holding the man's head - you stabbed your knife in his chest.
As you got back up, Neteyam suddenly pushed you out of the way. He grabbed the man who was charging at you and threw him down the ship.
Silence. Your adrenaline had your hands shaking, but before anyone could say a word - one of the men got up grasping his gun.
Lo'ak bet him to it, firing a bunch of rounds and shooting the man down.
Your eyes widened in shock, "Bro come on", Spider called.
Neteyam put his hand in yours, examining his brother.
"Let's go."
Neteyam tugged you along, jumping down as you all tried to figure out a way to get off this ship.
Spider thanked you all, but you saw Quaritchs right-hand man in the near distance.
"No!" Neteyam shouted, aiming the gun Lo'ak was pointing at him down to the ground. Shots were fired at you all as you crouched down rushing away from the henchmen.
"Give me that," Neteyam grabbed his gun whilst you held yours. You both peeked out, as you reached a corner. Firing in the general area the bullets were coming from.
"Go, Go, Go!" You and Neteyam yelled at the two boys.
Y/n checked behind them, witnessing them successfully leaping off the ship.
"Go, Neteyam! I am right behind you." Y/n urged, continuing to shoot at the men.
A deep guttural growl escaped him.
He wanted to complain, but the sound of more gunshots cut him off before he could do so.
He headed in the same direction Lo'ak and Spider had gone. Jumping into the ocean, he waited for you.
You looked to where the men were reloading the guns. It was now or never.
Right before you moved to leap as well, someone suddenly body-slammed you. Screaming at the impact, you desperately tried to reach for the gun that got knocked out of your hands.
A soldier held you down, and the bubble gum she had been chewing - popped. Giving you a deathly glare she dug her fingernails into your skin, drawing blood.
Y/n squirmed as she tried to resist and fight her way out of her deathly grip.
"You killed a good man in the woods. Like Colonel said, you took one of ours." She spat at you.
Any response you could have uttered was cut off by your own knife being plunged into your lower chest.
Y/n wanted to scream, to do anything but succumb to the faith that had just been handed to her. But the pain was excruciating, nothing like she'd ever felt before in her entire life.
"Rot in hell." She sneered at you.
It sounded ironic. The words you had screamed in a moment of triumph, resinated bitterly now.
She rolled you, pushing you over the edge as you plummeted into the water.
Struggling to stay afloat, all you could hear was your friends and lovers muffled cheering. Y/n could only smile to herself, at least they were all okay.
Everything else began to blur from then on, you remember them realising you were wounded. How Neteyam had never looked so disoriented in his life.
Oh, how the situations have flipped.
This wasn't the plan.
How dare he jump for safety and leave you to die? It should have been him.
"N-Neteyam." You choked out, your chest rising up and down rapidly. Y/n was grappling to stay afloat as her own hand tried to cover her stab wound.
Neteyam's heart shattered at the sight of you as he held you above water. "Shhh, save your energy. You're going to be just fine."
He took you away from prying eyes, keeping a lookout as he called for his Ilu. Lo'ak, Tsireya, and Spider were right behind him.
"Bro, we can take her to that rock over there." Lo'ak pointed, not too far but enough distance to separate you all from the sinking ship.
Neteyam nodded, continuing to hold you upright and letting you lean on him.
It felt like a million years, his entire lifetime seeming like it passed before reaching the rock.
With the help of everyone else, they lifted you on it, carrying you and settling you down.
"Watch her head, watch her head," Neteyam repeated. Pushing wet hair strands away from your face that was scrunched up in discomfort
"That could have gone a lot worse, yawntu." You quietly said.
Neteyam's smile was grim, suddenly taken back to your date in the jungle that had been interrupted by that mighty Thanator and his own personal duties back at home.
"Huh, yeah. It really could have. But it didn't" Neteyam stuttered out.
His chuckles that followed his words were forced, vision going murky at the tears that threatened to burst through his facade.
He knew even as Tsireya stuffed the stab wound with moss from the rock it was too late. There was too much blood, so much blood. For the very first and last time, he was too late.
Too late to save you, and now he didn't know what to do.
Your end is near.
Before there was an opportunity to aid you. To get you to safety - to save you from harm's way. But this time there was absolutely nothing he could do. He'd never felt so openly inferior.
All he could do was let Eywa retrieve you peacefully.
Your cries of pain tore into him, tears gushing down your face as he hushed you and tried to wipe them all away.
It devastated him to know there wasn't any way for him to feel your pain. He never wanted this to ever happen to you.
He truly thought that this move away from all the danger and war had bought you both more time.
He was a fool for thinking that life would bestow that upon him.
The sudden wooshing of Ikrans wings mingled in the tense air as Neytiri and Melรฌew landed on the rock. Jake, hopped off his Skimwing.
"Oh great mother, no! My daughter, my daughter!" Your mother wept as she fell onto her knees by your side.
Neteyam gripped your hand, squeezing it in reassurance.
"Mom, I did it. I'm truly a warrior." You struggled, your breath seeming to escape you quicker than you thought.
"You silly girl. You always have been. You always will be." Your mother soothed you, her hands holding your face and caressing your hair.
You meekly smiled at her, looking at everyone who surrounded you. Neytiri silently cried as Jake held her in his arms. It gave you a sense of comfort, through the pair - you saw yourself and Neteyam.
Y/n glanced at Jake, "Thank you for everything."
Jake could only bend down, pressing a hand to your leg and giving it a squeeze. He had so much to say. How wonderful you are at everything you do. The way you gave every training lesson your all. And the way you treated his son. But he had a feeling you already knew.
Neytiri moved to the free space above your head, gripping onto one of your mum's hands as she pressed a tender kiss to your forehead.
You would always be her honourary daughter, and she knew she was about to lose you. All she could do now was be here and try to give you some comfort.
"Neteyam?"
"Yes, Y/n?" Neteyam peered down at you, and you returned his gaze.
"Are we going back home?" She whispered.
He could see the light he adored so much fading away from Y/n's eyes. The faint wheeze in your breathing, and your skin losing its colour.
"Yeah we are, we're gonna finish that picnic date. You gotta prepare your basket okay? Don't forget the picnic blanket." His tears were free-falling at this point, but he no longer had the willpower to care about saving face.
All he cared about at this moment was you.
Numb to the feelings consuming your body, Y/n's smile widened. โ€œOkay 'Teyam, can we bring our Ikrans?"
Neteyam forced himself to nod, keeping his tone of voice upbeat. "You bet, Y/n. I'll even race you."
You coughed as you giggled. Neteyam's frown deepened, as he cradled your face.
For the very last time, you nuzzled into the warmth his open palm provided. Taking in his faint yet distinct scent of salt and nature.
Peace poured into your heart and soul.
"I'm gonna win. and I'm always going to love you. I love you, and your wonderful family. I love you, I see you." You rambled, truly hoping you conveyed your last words well.
"I will always see you," Neteyam murmured, taking all of you in as well.
And then the light faded.
Tsireya was the first to realise this, she looked down at your blood coating her hands as she started to cry. Lo'ak held onto her, and Neteyam - knowing damn well he was about to need it.
"Y/n? Y/n. Y/n!" Neteyam wailed out a gut-wrenching cry for help.
He couldn't believe his eyes, he couldn't come to terms that you were no longer here.
You were with the great mother now.
"No, Y/n. Please! Come back to me!" He leaned his forehead on yours, closing his eyes tight. He prayed that when he'd open them, this would all be a ruthless lie.
That you'd be able to actually go on that other date. Live on to be each other's mates in the eyes of Eywa. To be able to witness and create a family of your own.
You'd be able to grow and flourish. Together.
His hopes and dreams were crushed the moment your last breath escaped you. Anguish and rage now consumed him.
They took you away from him. Robbed him of a life that was supposed to be spent being by your side, your eternal protector.
As his eyes opened, yours stayed the same.
His fingertips flittered over them, before closing your eyes.
Neteyam could no longer bare to look at what he had lost.
His soul, now as empty as your weightless gaze.
The cries of his family and your mother echoed in his ears, yet he maintained a tight hold on your cold hand.
This couldn't have gone any worse.
But it simply had. And now you were gone.
One with the ocean, one with the sea. Neteyam liked to think and believe they had welcomed you in harmony.

there were things you wished neteyam could have witnessed, while othersโ€ฆnot so much.ย
you're eternally grateful that he wasn't physically here to witness the darkness consume your dear brother, lo'ak. or to see tuk deflate at the mere mention of him, cowering away in the comfort of your home. her boisterous self simmering away in the wake of grief.ย
he wouldn't have approved of how you were coming to terms with things either. he'd scowl at you, whacking the back of your head - only to get a hiss in return.ย
you could hear the echoes of his laughter being cloaked around you, it was like he was still here.
he indeed was.ย
in the pull of the tides, the crystal cerulean waters that engufed at your lungs whenever you remembered him. and the oceans that surrounded you, that too.ย
the very few trees that were littered around awa'atlu. even the colour green made your heart waver, a pain that you've grown to abhor simmering in the depths of your soul. the forest was all that shimmered in your gaze instead, a younger you and neteyam playing at peace.
peace, what a sought out yet fickle thing. that wasn't something you really believed in anymore. that evaded your beliefs the moment neteyam took his last breath and was handed over to eywa.
you were even angry at her too. eywa this, eywa that. what sort of great mother was she really if she couldn't use her force of life and grant it towards the people who deserve it the most.
neteyam deserved to live. he deserved to bask in their victory. to feel the safety and tranquility of finally getting away from the wrath of the sky people. instead all that's left of him is memories in objects and stupid little things around them.ย
a sigh escaped you as you watched over your siblings cheer and run around each other from beneath where you hid up in a tree.ย
this is what i wish you could see, neteyam. that's what you wished to say to him now. yet you hope he does see how far you've all evolved and come, from wherever he is now.ย
if only he knew how proud you were of him, you didn't say that enough while he was still alive. it is still sheltered in your mind as one of your biggest requests.ย
a stick suddenly invaded your vision, smacking you right in the forehead as you subsequently lost your footing and fell down from the tree.ย
"tuk!" you growled at her antics as lo'ak howled in laughter.ย
"got ya, i knew you were up there!" she only smiled in return, grasping your hand and tugging you along with them.ย
a sudden gust of wind blew through your hair, making you look up at the tree where you once were. warmth filled you all the way through. a soft smile graced your face as you turned and followed your family.
neteyam's legs swung back and forth as he sat down by the spot you once occupied. a reminiscent action that would occur back when they were dwellers of a certain forest. he could see it now, little versions of his siblings reigning havoc and creating mishaps.ย
content washes over him, acceptance.
he bites back tears then, bottom lip wobbling as he sees your figures move further away from him. he speaks out then, something that no-one but the souls who also similarly lost their lives would hear if they really wished too.ย
"i knew they'd be okay! ah, i feel so proud. thank you, eywaโ€ฆ"

While she wasn't terrified, she was certainly confused. Ikrans do not come here. Omaticaya and Metkayina do not cross each others paths.
People of the forest hopped off their Ikrans, and you saw a girl who looked your age stand close to what you assumed was her mother.
While Tsireya was being ogled by one of the young forest boys, you couldn't draw your eyes away from her.
A foreign feeling entangled itself in the pit of your belly as you watched Ronal point out what she deemed to be "flaws" in the girl.
You didn't even know her name but the urge to already protector scratched at your being.
Y/n could only hope there'd be an encounter where she'd be able to learn more about the mysterious forest girl.
Little did she know that moment would come sooner than she would have thought.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
You observed Kiri with a tilt of your head as she glided through the water and the reefs as if it was second nature to her.
While the boys were battling with their own egos and learning how to ride Ilu's. Y/n and Tsireya decided that Tuk and Kiri could explore the water some more.
They'd done a few lessons at this point, their breathing improving. But Kiri was a true mystery to you. There was something otherworldly about her that you could not pinpoint.
It frustrated you to no end, the ocean had accepted her the moment she made contact with it. She had no issues with breathing, and now apparently even riding an Ilu!
Y/n's mouth gaped as she watched the Ilu nuzzle his head against Kiri's. In a blink of an eye, she'd made tsaheylu with the Ilu and started to ride him towards you.
Tsireya on her own Ilu turned to give Kiri and Tuk an encouraging smile. Y/n called for her Ilu, following them.
As they breezed through the ocean, all admiring the beauty surrounding them. But Y/n had already seen this more than her few fingers could count, so instead of admiring the scenery around her. Her eyes could not seem to stray away from Kiri's figure.
It seems she was enamored with the girl from the Omaticaya clan As she caught up to them all, Kiri looked at her - giving her a grin that could battle the beauty of the sea life surrounding them.
In just a mere moment, she felt like a floundering fish needing to surface for air. These are abundant feelings that have never occupied her life before.
Sure, she always knew she had a preference for girls rather than boys. But there hadn't been a situation handed to her where she had to confront such taboo concepts.
Y/n could only nod her head in acknowledgment, too fearful to smile back in fear that she'd somehow slip off her Ilu if Kiri paid any more attention to her than necessary.
She was truly and utterly, doomed. Y/n wish she could cease to exist at this moment as Kiri steered her Ilu closer to hers in a teasing manner.
Y/n while bashful, repeated her actions - their Ilu's almost brushing.
The current of the waves somehow made the line of seashells intricately wrapped in her hair that was once laying on her forehead. Now tugged down to block her vision.
Kiri's hand slapped against her mouth, morphing her giggles to try not to choke on water. Leaning sideways, she lifted the shells, smoothing down your hair.
Now it was your turn to try not to choke on water, again.
If Y/n was keeping her resolve before, she definitely was failing at it now.
She signed, "Thank you". It was one of the only new phrases that they had been teaching the Sully daughter which she was able to pick up on quite quickly.
Oh Eywa, this was ridiculous. Why did Tsireya have to drag her into all this?
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
Tsireya motioned to you guys, as you hopped on rocks toward the destination she was leading you towards.
It was time for you, Roxto, and Tsireya to teach the Sullys some of the ways of the Metkayina clan again. They thought it would be best to get breathing out of the way first.
"Come on!" She beckoned you guys over to a particularly larger one compared to the rest. Giving you a sly smirk she made sure to take the second to last available spot so you had no choice but to sit next to Kiri.
Your dear friend may have heard your extensive rant after the events that occurred when you were riding on your Ilu's yesterday. While Y/n did not outright confess her very apparent crush on the girl, Tsireya did not have to be dense to realise this.
Y/n seemed to just have figured this out as she hesitantly made her way over to the empty space.
"Skxwang", Y/n muttered under her breath as she sat down on the smooth surface of the rock.
Kiri looked at you with wide eyes, thinking that the word had been directed at her.
You fumbled with your words as you shyly tucked your stray strands of hair behind your ears, a nervous tick of yours.
"No, no! Uhm- that wasn't targeted at you it was, I-", You tried to form a proper sentence but seemed to fail to do so.
Kiri registered this and covered her mouth as she giggled, nodding her head in understanding as she took pity on your obviously flustered state.
It strangely felt like deja vu.
Your quiet laughter followed, seeing how dumb you had just sounded.
Although you couldn't help but admire how melodious her laughter was. The effect it had on you felt groundbreaking.
At least this time you weren't underwater with shells blocking your view. This time you were able to really appreciate all of her.
Swiftly, you were hyperaware of how close you had gravitated to each other. Knees touching, shoulders brushing. Oh.
It felt all too consuming, but you were pulled away from the moment once Tsireya cleared her throat.
"Let's get this lesson started, shall we?" She spoke lightly, but there was a hint of playfulness ebbed into it.
Y/n nodded and looked down at her lap, fiddling with her anklet. She blushed (again, dammit), feeling the scorching gaze of Kiri burning an inevitable hole into her soul.
Great mother, this forest girl was going to be the death of her.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
Time seemed to escape you as eclipse welcomed itself as day turned to night. It was the following day, you hadn't had the chance to follow Tsireya and the Sully's in their daily endeavors as per usual.
Having to catch up on your own chores and help hunt for dinner, you were able to join Ronal and Tsireya to collect some clams.
As Y/n made her way through the maze of intricate woven pathways to the Chief and Tsahiks mauri. The girl was startled at the figures of Kiri and Tuk who were making their way in to said Mauri she was about to enter herself.
Mumbling profanities to herself in Na'vi, she wiped down her palms that were already starting to gather sweat on her upper thighs. Taking in a deep breath, she waltzed into the Mauri only to stumble into the said girl she was hoping not to make contact with.
Kiri whipped around at the sudden contact only to lightly laugh as she once again, beamed at you.
"Y/n, where have you been all day?" Tuk whined at you as she hugged you, wrapping herself around your leg.
You patted her head, cooing at her cuteness before responding to her.
"I had my own chores to do, Tuk. But I'm here now!"
Ronal walked in, holding the bags that would aid you all in being able to carry more clams.
"Let's go, girls." She commandeered you all out of the mauri and towards the seemingly never-ending ocean.
As you all dove into the ocean, the bioluminescent reef life drew you in like a tether. Your connection to the ocean was magnetic, instantaneous. Always there and within your reach.
She could only hope that the Sully's would soon feel the same way, especially now that this was their home.
Y/n came to a stop as Tsireya grasped onto the fish that was akin to wings.
She let Tuk turn around before letting it attach to the little girl.
Tsireya signed to them, "This will help you breathe underwater."
Kiri looked to you astounded, you nodded back in reassurance. You knew how she protective she was of her siblings, especially harmless Tuk.
As Y/n swam her way over to where Ronal was beginning to pluck away at clams, you took out your knife - beginning to follow her motions.
Sudden movement beside you caught your attention. Y/n turned her head to see Ronal moving towards a light. Curiosity ate at her, what was that?
She peered around the coral she was removing clams from and saw Tsireya staying close to Tuks side. But where was Kiri?
She followed after Ronal, halting as she gawked at the sight laid out before her.
Kiri was crouching down, maneuvering in sync with the school of fish adjacent to her.
Ronal did not know what to make of this, but due to her overwhelming deep connection to Eywa as well. She knew that this was some sort of sign.
The Sully's must stay.
If Y/n heard her Tsahik thoughts she'd eagerly agree. But her reasons differed from that of spirituality. Instead hers was from that familiar fondness bubbling deep in her chest.
She glowed as if she were the moon itself.
In sheer awe, Y/n could only desire for a possible way to capture this moment for as long as her brain demanded of it. Although she had a feeling this was a moment of significance that would resonate with her for a long time.
A tap on her shoulder broke her from her personal reveries.
"Let her be, we must continue." Ronal signed.
"Yes, Tsahik." Y/n signed back.
Swimming back, she briefly to have one final gaze at Kiri.
It was as if she was looking through rose tinted lenses, this definitely seemed more than a crush now.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
Kiri was no fool, Y/n was a clumsy one - that's for sure.
But she was more than well aware of the effect she had on the Metkayina girl.
At first, she did not know what to make of it. At that moment, she could only wish for once that she was as dense as Lo'ak. But alas, that was not the case this time.
Every time you made her heart feel like it had soared all the way back to the forest, she would block it out. Kiri felt as if she had bigger fish to fry, lives at stake.
They weren't in the clear yet, and she was essentially made out to be a demon to the entire clan.
So while she thought you fumbling around her was endearing, Kiri could not let it enter the forefront of her mind.
The attempts at doing so failed though.
You were everywhere.
If it wasn't at lessons, it was with her siblings. If it wasn't with her siblings, it was in the ocean. You were always there, and it was all at once.
Days blended into weeks, and weeks became months.
You'd never acted on your feelings, continuing to be oblivious to the fact that the other party had begun to return them.
It hit her like a tidal wave one afternoon.
It had been a few days after her brothers had gotten into a beating to protect her. While she found it funny initially, it now dawned on her.
Was that truly how everyone thought of her? Did Y/n see her in that way?
Her feet dipped in the water as she sat to the side of one of the many walkways that weaved around the Metkayina village.
Kiri watched in the distance as Tuk threw fish in the air, happily cheering as her Ilu jumped up to eat it. Neteyam laughed at her and squeezed the youngest Sully's shoulders.
Her ears perked up, tilting at the side where the sound of footsteps drew closer to her.
Y/n sat down beside her, letting her legs also dangle as her toes dipped into the ocean.
There was a very obvious space between them, Y/n didn't want to be overbearing. She had not been there when the fight broke out, but she was more than self-aware of the aftermath.
While it looked like Ao'nung was becoming buddies with the sons of the renowned Toruk Makto. She could only wonder how Kiri must have felt.
They'd become a lot closer in the last few weeks. Y/n could only hope that due to that, it didn't look too odd that she looked out for her.
"Ao'nung and his friends can be a pain, I'm sorry." She treaded lightly with her wording, unsure of how to approach the conversation.
But Y/n couldn't settle, especially having witnessed Kiri become far more reserved in the past few days.
Kiri finally turned to glance at her.
Y/n watched as her mouth opened and closed a few times. It reminded her of the fish that swam beneath their feet.
In spite of that, she waited.
She'd wait for however long it took for her to find the proper words. To convey the train of thoughts that were spiraling in that pretty head of hers.
Finally, she caught them. "I just wish I wasn't like...this." Kiri trailed off, envy riddled in her tone.
Kiri looked down at her hands.
Y/n looked around before scooting closer.
Her hand reached out, hovering over Kiri's for a second. She grasped it in her own.
"This version of you is what makes you who you are. My clan has not granted Uturu to anyone not of Metkayina before. They simply fear the unknown." Y/n explained as she let the feeling of the ripples of the water hitting her legs consume her.
Kiri was going to respond, yet you continued.
"Yes, my people are acting on said fear irrationally. For that, I am deeply sorry. But, in due time - they will grow to accept you all. Just like, uhm, I have." You squeezed her hand before letting it rest on her lap once again.
Kiri had to hold herself back from complaining about it, she already missed your touch. Once again, she had to jump through hurdles to find her words.
All she could muster out was her usual smile (that she had yet to realise was only reserved for you). And a "Thank you, Thank you so much."
Your hand reached out again, yearning for Kiri's hand but instead, you placed it on her shoulder.
Eclipse was nearing, you must go.
Y/n did not utter another word as she stood up. She turned, making her way back home.
Kiri's legs were only partially in the water. Even so, she felt like she was six feet under.
The ardent flames blazed beneath her heart. Abruptly, you now existed in the forefront of her mind. Shit.
Your eyes, your teal body, your hair. Everything that consisted of you, and only you. It sunk into every crevice of her soul, making itself snug and at home there.
The way you smelled, like the ocean yet also the flora that surrounded the village. How you held yourself differently amongst your friends compared to the elders of the community.
The way you took Tuk under your wing, how the moment she landed her Ikran in an unknown place. You treated her like anything but the harsh words she thought she was.
Just like that, you had become her entire world.
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
You and Tsireya giggled together as you continued to weave fishing nets that would be used for tomorrow's hunt.
As you reached for more rope, a shadow cast over you both - hindering the sun from entering your family's Mauri.
Both of you frantically looked up, your shoulders sinking down as you only saw Kiri standing there.
"Oh, Kiri! I didn't know you were joining us." Tsireya commented her elbow nudging into your side. You wanted to smack the girl.
Kiri's eyes darted around your mauri, her behaviour suddenly mirroring yours. "Uhm! No, I actually wasn't. Actually, can I borrow Y/n for a moment?"
Y/n's eyes widened, finger-pointing at herself in question.
"Yes, you." Kiri sighed.
Tsireya nudged you again, forcing you to stand up.
"Be my guest!" She mused, giving you a wink as Kiri turned around.
Your hands made a choking motion, making Tsireya only howl in laughter.
Rolling her eyes, Y/n made her way out of her Mauri.
Kiri nervously twiddled her thumbs, "Follow me."
Before you could ask her where you both were even going, she had already started walking away.
Y/n stumbled, following after her.
It was silent, nearing the eclipse. Kiri brought you over to a part of the village that was usually uninhabited at this part of the evening.
You began to feel nervous as folded your arms over your chest, feet kicking at the sand under you.
"Sooo..." You said to try to break the silence. Her stomach was churning, and her appetite for tonight's meal has vanished in an instant.
Kiri looked out into the crystal-clear ocean, before peering at you.
"I-I. I like you! I know, I shouldn't. But you're absolutely maddening, do you know that? You're so clumsy, it's stupid that it's so adorable. You weren't supposed to have this impact on me! I just wanted to learn the people's way!" Kiri confessed, words spewing out of her like a waterfall.
Y/n could only survey her, mouth agape. Kiri was restless as she paced around.
"You always say something, why aren't you saying something?!" Kiri demanded, still not being able to settle.
Y/n fumbled, trying to appease the poor girl. "Well, I- I didn't know you were into girls."
"Infuriating!" Kiri threw her hands up in the air.
The immensely shocked girl cleared her throat. Tucking strands of her behind her ear, she took determined steps towards Kiri.
Her hands fell onto her shoulders, effortlessly making her halt all movements.
"I'm the infuriating one? I swear to god you're Eywa in disguise. I thought this whole time, that this was all one-sided! I stayed silent, and I yearned for you from afar. Yes, I'm clumsy, and I'm bad with my words most of the time!" Y/n heaved for a breath, before continuing.,
"Yet, I still like you. And I always will, because I've become accustomed to you. I see into you. Kiri, please. Look at me." She grasped her chin, turning it so they could look into each other's eyes.
"You see into me?" Kiri questioned, leaning her forehead against yours.
Lips hovering over the other, you gushed in response.
"Of course I do."
Her hand nestled into your hair, pushing you further in. Breathing and taking each other in, your lips met in a searing kiss.
You separated from each other once you both had to catch your breath.
"Don't those lessons come in handy?" Kiri inquired, a teasing glint in her eyes.
"Shut up." Y/n muttered as she smacked Kiri's arm that had wrapped around her waist.
The lovesick girl could only laugh in retaliation, urging you into a warm hug.
You were both fools, but you acted in such a way just to please the other.
Thank Eywa you are both into girls.

BONUS :
Tsireya let out a silent cheer as she high-fived Lo'ak.
"I knew it!" She mused whilst leaning into the young boy.
Lo'ak could only groan in disgust at the blossoming couple before him.
"I was the only one supposed to be in a relationship right now!" He whined.
Tsireya rolled her eyes, smacking him on the back of his head.
Skxwangs.

THE GLITCH IS NOT FIXED I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP PLS IGNORE THE 5 COPIED BULLETPOINTS. SORRY ABT THAT READERS!
๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ : the tail makes a comeback, p in v, mutual oral stimulation, choking, overstim, slight exhibitionism, orgasm denial, cockwarming, edging,, yeahhhh.
Tumblr media
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ yes, it is canon just like i said above, tonowari is submissive and he will obey you and tend to you however you wish and command him. that's the dynamic of you two.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i feel like tonowari is big on people pleasing, he'll do whatever
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ it takes to keep both parties content,, in this case it's you and him..
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like i said in my other hcs i think people took that scene of him in atwow saying "SIT DOWN!" and ran with it like yes, he is commandeering and that comes with the role of being the chief leader but sometimes he needs to wind down you know?
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ you're there to provide that for him, whether it's giving his tense back a massage to break away the knots of tension that had formed through the day
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ or sitting on his face and throwing your head back in ecstasy as the tip of nose nudges your clit and his tongue delves into the saccharine wetness of your aching cunt.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ that definitely relieves him. especially when you lean yourself back in the perfect angle, his divine hands mapping the curves of your hips.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ keeping you upright as your fingers dance over his bulbous cock, thumb wiping at the precum that threatens to ebb out more and more as you further stimulate him.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ and a broken whine would soar through your core as he begs for you - although muffled due to you still riding his face.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like his hips would buck up in desperation and he'd physically shudder, eyes rolling to the back of his head as if he's almost been possessed by his pleasureย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ the slightest contact of his cock just gliding perfectly against the palm of your hands, and he's so close - oh-ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ "not yet wari, only when i say you can"ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ of course, you know when he needs to cum, it's second-hand nature to you now there is no surprise there.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ and his chest would just tense in ecstasy as you cum all over his face, he'd let out a soft laugh in disbelief like his tongue would be darting everywhere to get every last drop of yours
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i also feel that this man really doesn't mind putting himself through literal hell to finally bust the best orgasm of his life
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ maybe when you don't have too many tsahik duties and all his plans today aren't anything too strenuous - especially not needing much people around and you're just trotting around with him talking about your days and just finally getting to catch up with each other
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like you got the confidence, you don't give a fuck if the clans eyes linger - you're going to let your tail glide on his inner thighs, give him a gaze so alluring that he wishes he could just stop being olo'ekytan just for an hourย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ it doesn't have to be anything too over the top
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ just touches that linger more, eyes hooded and basically begging to drag him back to your home, maybe you'd bend down here and there just to give him a sight for sore eyes
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like you're a fucking tease, but tonowari loves this game so he isn't gonna call you out on it - if anything he eats it up
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ you're so precise with all your actions, especially when slowly pushing him into submission.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ the ruler of his thoughts, the ruler of his body, of the current buldge that is threatening to break through his thin loin cloth
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like come on now!! he literally would just get on his knees when you demand for it. like cockwarming but instead you're the one in control. sure it's his dick but its inside you now.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ lmao just peering down at him through your eyelashes? tonowari would let out the most guttural of groans at that, especially when the wetness of your cunt starts to just flow down his cock and make a little mess where you are both connected
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ you're a cocky mfer, if man wants to move? no! he cannot. he just has to grit his teeth and take it like the good boy he is.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ he's just a lil plaything at the end of the day, when he gets home and puts being olo'ekytan to the side, his brain just turns into mush
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ that's what you're there for, care for him in the aftermath of his duties of the day, and after the best fucking would altering sex in the world
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ pls the mewls and genuine cries of want that would just sputter from his mouth, eyes so doe-like and desperation just seeping out of him
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ when you've edged him for the however amount of time again - idk you lost you're count by now.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ it's just so pretty to see a man so powerful hunker down for you. legs shaking at every slight graze, leaving kisses up his mighty thighs and buff chest and arms.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i know he'd be soooo sensitive too like it'd take some coaxing for him to become more vocal but once you break through that - the man is saying anything and everything, the filter is gone
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ when he reaches that point of no return, just a blubbering mess and uttering absolute nonsense you can't make out you'd just smirk condescendingly down at him.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ "mmm, yeah i hear you pretty boy. don't worry, i've got you."
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ the man is a beggar!! a chanter even!! it's canon like, "please, please, please. i can't - i can't, please sweetheart i need to cum. please!"
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ definitely would curse here and there especially when he becomes extra sensitive good lord, like it'd almost be a hiss and his pretty hair would be like a halo around his head.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟsomething about his body that literally dwarfs yours,, being on top of that.. forcing his arms down to the floor and gripping onto his hands as you ride himโ€ฆ yeah.
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ basically, it's very simple to bend him at your will.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ i don't really see him being a brat though, like he's just sooo fucking devoted to you maybe he'll bite back every now and then - but it's more so teasing and light-hearted.ย
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ also dunno but i'm making it canon only for this that somehow you can turn on tonowari with a tug of his tail or something, maybe if you press down on a certain spot it just gives a certain tingle or something that shoots straight to his cock! ooo
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ or omg making tsaheylu with each other the moment you allow him to cum after tugging on his tail again and again and edging him!! mind-blowing shit right there
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ he'd moan your name so loud, grunts following as his body just spasms and he just lets himself drown in such good genuine pleasure
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ don't worry though, sweet loving is an often thing - just sensual love and giving that back to both of you as you ride him!! (probs his fave tbh)
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ or if you ride him but your turned and he's just grabbing handfuls of your ass and just giving it a good squeeze!!!!!!! yuuuuuup
โ”€โ”€โ”€โœฟ like best believe he likes being choked as he cums!!! i just know it i dooooooooo

The Metkayina clan admired you for your intelligence and quick thinking under pressure. Somehow you always found a way to alleviate high-tension situations and find solutions to ongoing issues in your community.ย
Y/n was most well-known for her baskets, and while that may sound odd. It was her pride and joy. Sheโ€™d found ways to intricately weave baskets of different sizes and durabilities. Being able to have more room for storage, or able to withhold more weight. It would give her an immense amount of comfort when people would praise her for such random yet useful interventions.ย
For example, โ€œthe carrierโ€ - an object weaved in the shape of the Naโ€™vis shoulders so you can hang your clothes on them! A true miracle worker.
Donโ€™t get Loโ€™ak wrong, he absolutely treasured those aspects of Y/n. But you were outright dumb sometimes, which was quite the contrasting statement.ย
The poor Sully boy could hold a sign saying, โ€œI donโ€™t just see you, I thrive in your presence. I am the best version of myself when I am with you. I really like you!โ€ Yet youโ€™d still just nod and even fist-bump him, probably commenting on how sweet he is.ย
Like God damn woman, take a hint!ย
Were you just blind to love? Playing hard to get? Oblivious? Loโ€™ak truly did not know, and Kiri did not offer much help in that department either.ย
The two girls were just starting to get close to one another, alongside Tsireya. And no one else wanted to be friends with the eldest Sully daughter. She was not risking a strain in a newly developed friendship just to help his ass feel better.
Maybe, he thought. Just maybe he wasnโ€™t being obvious enough? From then on he decides to go the extra mile with his intentions.
Getting your food for you, walking you to places. Getting callouses and blisters on his hands just to learn your almost mystical weaving techniques just to take some of the workload off you.
Neteyam had witnessed these obvious advances and the shift in his demeanor, deciding to use this as ample opportunity to tease him.
He remarked, โ€œBaby brother, that is what friends do.โ€
The younger had hissed, pushing the eldest in annoyance.ย
Friends?! Is he fucking with me? Absolutely not. The boy had muttered to himself as he begrudgingly stomped out of the mauri.ย
A new determination flickered in his eyes as he saw you in the distance, snickering at whatever girls talk about with Tsireya.ย
Loโ€™ak would do whatever it takes and prove that he is worthy of your attention and love.
Instead of doing the normal thing, like asking your parents if he can court you. He figured, eh? Why not stir the pot in his own way? Heโ€™s an independent young man! He can handle this on his own.
His touches began to linger more, it felt like his scent had been roped to your skin. Always attentively wrapping an arm around your shoulders, or his large hand would basically engulf the entirety of your wrist. Heโ€™d guide you to little spots on the outskirts of Awaโ€™atlu that he personally found great comfort in, even then the skin-to-skin contact would linger.
These were places youโ€™ve lived amongst your entire life but always brushed by in passing. Your heart would grow twice the size, being able to witness the fondness twinkling in his eyes as heโ€™d appreciate every single part of nature he came across.
It lit a spark deep within your bones, one youโ€™d furiously try to stomp on to take out.ย
Loโ€™ak did not help in that sense, considering heโ€™d show how protective he was over you whenever a fellow boy of the clan would give you even an ounce of their attention. Youโ€™d nag at him to stop the act, saying you could handle it on your own.
The cherry on top? Youโ€™d pinch his cheek, and that was it. Nothing more, nothing less.
No, โ€œLoโ€™ak youโ€™re so handsomeโ€. Or, โ€œLoโ€™ak you take such great care of me, I like you too!โ€.
Day by day, he was becoming more fed up and frustrated. All he had to do back at home was slightly teasingly flirt with a girl for the heck of it, and theyโ€™d already be profusely blushing.ย
But you had that sweet smile always gracing your face, and it wasnโ€™t that he didnโ€™t love it. Because frankly, he really does.ย
It just felt like he was getting nowhere, prancing back and forth to try to encase himself in your heart.ย
Loโ€™akโ€™s ego has never been shot down like this before, and it was dampening his mood. He just wanted to dote on you, be there for you. Not like he was now, but as a partner. Someone who could kiss you, cuddle you. He craved for you to ease his worries, to reciprocate his tumultuous feelings.ย
To him, it felt like he was climbing up a tree that very soon heโ€™d be pushed down from. He was praying to Eywa that all his efforts would be worth it in the end.ย
If only he already knew Y/n returned all his feelings. To be fair, you werenโ€™t the greatest at showing or even expressing it. In her eyes, she doesnโ€™t perceive any of these motions Loโ€™ak is going through as anything more than platonic.ย
Even Kiri is tired of this, because yeah. Maybe this friendship is willing to be strained and bent a bit because her dear brother is losing his literal marbles.
She canโ€™t fault you though, youโ€™ve told her time and time again. No boy had ever expressed such avid interest in you, youโ€™ve always been an afterthought to them. They were almost always sent your way to collect your creations for their families. In their eyes, the Olo'eyktan's daughter was far more of a catch than she would ever be.
You were okay with that, to some degree it benefitted you. Although not this time.
His insecurities started to riddle him, eating up all the hopes and desires he had painted for the both of you. Can he not live up to whatever prior expectations you may already have going on in your pretty mind? Loโ€™ak canโ€™t help but overthink because he feels like he is going nowhere.
Now, that wasnโ€™t your intention at all. There was something about the boy that utterly terrified you, he was the first guy in her life that she actually considered a friend. That meant the entire world they orbited around to her. Loโ€™ak to her was new waves of entirely unexplored waters. It was a feeling that she hadnโ€™t been able to delve into for eons.
Ynโ€™s clan was isolated, in the middle of the ocean. Scattered amongst dozens of other villages alike the one she inhabits. Nothing remotely new had graced their presence for so long.ย
How dare she not fall for the inquisitive and rebellious forest boy? Every day he gave her a taste of something so avant-garde to her already influential mind. Every day he gave her a new perspective and angle to a place sheโ€™s coexisted in her entire life.ย
So while Loโ€™ak was concerned about his feelings being dismissed, Y/n was winded from even encountering them in the first place.ย
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซหš
There was something amiss.ย
Itโ€™s now midday, and there hasnโ€™t been any sighting of Loโ€™ak. Y/n didnโ€™t see him at breakfast, or at his mauri. He wasnโ€™t at their usual meeting spot either. She remembers it like the back of her hand, the corner to turn to get to her own mauri. Heโ€™d always be standing there with a coy smirk, leaning against the structure pole closest to him. Not today, though.
Youโ€™d been looking for him all day, even asking his siblings. They all gave you the same answer. โ€œDo we ever know what he is truly up to?โ€ย
Yeah, they had a good point on that one.
Y/n couldnโ€™t shake the uneasy feeling nibbling at her stomach though. She had looked to where their families Iluโ€™s were kept, his was still there. She swam in the ocean, diving to his favorite spots. Her eyes even caught sight of Payakan in the distance, and there was no cute boy from the forest by his side.ย
You start to feel a great sense of loss. This was something you certainly were not used to and never wanted to be. Day in and day out, he was without a doubt always here. By your side.
There was a certain emptiness creeping under your bones, lapping at the crevices of your heart and situating there. Dread poured down on you like the rain kissing at your teal skin.ย
For the first time in these last few months, you had never felt so alone.ย
Y/n had never felt so utterly vexed, and no one around her was giving any fucks.ย
(Stupid Loโ€™ak, teaching her curse words. Stupid Loโ€™ak, for making her care so damn fucking much.)
She stomped to her mauri, letting out a restless sigh as the rain ceased. Grabbing at her supplies she made it her own personal mission to situate at a part of the island not regularly inhabited.ย
You missed him and the solace his presence brought you. His little snarky remarks or complaints about Aoโ€™nung being a dickhead again. Or Loโ€™ak whining as you would mend his wounds, blisters scattered across his palms and fingertips. Work and effort he had put into helping you figure out the new invention that had been weighing on your mind.ย
Just the little things that should be so minor, werenโ€™t to you.
Now you canโ€™t help but ponder on it, maybe he does feel the same way you do? That perhaps it wasnโ€™t all so black and white. Rather instead, something far more complex and out of your vicinity.ย
Another sigh fell from your lips at the thoughts that you continued to mull over. Leaning against the tree behind you, when suddenly the importance of this place hit you.
It was the first time you had witnessed Loโ€™ak, all alone.
ย
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซ
หห‹ ยฐโ€ข*โ€โžท No parents nearby were scouring his every move, siblings lingering to tease him and oddly make him feel even more like an outcast. Thank Eywa too, for there were no bullies there.ย
It was just him and you now.
Y/n could tell he was dealing with utter turmoil, so you had adjusted your hold on the basket full of materials weighing heavily in your arms. Oddly enough it was filled with things to weave even more baskets, this time of varying sizes with colour in them. You wanted them to look more pretty, and eye-catching.ย
She watched as his hands that were dug into the sand, moved to scribble whatever his heart had desired to draw. They came to a still, as your presence drew itself closer to his.ย
Loโ€™ak was convinced youโ€™d ignore him out of shameless disgust, just like everyone else does in this clan, and walk by without a word. But all you had given him was that smile, and he knew from then on your soul was too gentle for this cursed world.
You tilted your basket to him, showing the contents inside of it. โ€œWould you like to learn how to make the best baskets in all of Metkayina?โ€ She peered down at him, with such tender luminous eyes.ย
How could he say no to that?
His mind was astray, and he didnโ€™t really know how you knew that he needed a distraction.ย
But with a nod of his head, as he straightened his posture, you let out a quiet noise - something akin to a cheer. Making yourself comfortable in front of him as you sat down, you took everything out and laid it on the sand with such care.ย
There, he tuned in to another lesson.ย
The whole time he pretended he didnโ€™t know anything, Neytiri totally didnโ€™t teach him how to weave or anything at a young age, not at all! He had good reasoning to do so because your voice sounded and felt so saccharine and cozy. It had reminded him of the fruits back at home.
Loโ€™ak also couldnโ€™t help but admire how your worry lines would become evident and scrunch up when heโ€™d make a little rookie mistake. Ever patient as you are, youโ€™d glide your hand over his and ease him over the instructions once again.
For a boy who complained so much, not a peep came from his mouth as he learned from you.ย
เฟ เฟ”*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸหณเณซ
A strange sense of deja vu washed over Loโ€™ak as he witnessed you leaning against an all too familiar tree. Y/n was mapping out the contents of her mind into the grains of sand closest to her.ย
Heโ€™d been nestled in his own head the whole day, trying to understand the situation he had desperately wondered if he should pluck himself out of.
Loโ€™ak wondered then, had you admired him just as much as he was in this very moment?ย
Taking a deep breath, he then stalked over to you.
The swooshing of the sand moving abruptly caught your attention, making Y/โ€™s eyes dart up.
You call for Loโ€™ak, and it melts him to the core. He always loves the unintentional dip in your tone whenever youโ€™d pronounce the last part of his name.
He didnโ€™t know what burned in him then, but he felt it was now or never.
As he grabbed your arms and dragged you up, Y/n could only stumble into his chest with a faint โ€œoomphโ€. The Sully boy leaned back, hands drastically moving to smooth your hair back which had fluttered everywhere due to his abrupt actions.ย
He gazes at you then, unpacking everything that made you who you are for the hell of it. For the reason that heโ€™s afraid. Heโ€™ll wither in tremendous sorrow if he doesnโ€™t get some form of confirmation from you.
Loโ€™ak cannot keep playing himself with the what-ifs, he needed to hear what now.
"Would you acknowledge my feelings for you if I kissed you right now? You can't seem to take a damn hint, Y/n," Loโ€™ak uttered with a voice mellowed in affection.ย
Her mouth opened, then closed, repeat. Gaping, reminiscent of the fish in the ocean a few steps away from both of them. With watchful eyes he saw as you suck your teeth in, nibbling nervously on your bottom lip.
Y/n hesitates, cautious but unable to fight against it. Your hands seek and grip his shoulders. A force so soft, so kind, so you. Loโ€™ak exhaled.ย
โ€œYour feelings for me?โ€ Y/n croaked, sheer shock displayed on her features.
He could only laugh and shake his head in utter disbelief, his braids almost covering the eyes you worshipped upon. Oh my God, you truly are that clueless.ย
Loโ€™ak looked at your hands that splayed on his shoulders, before tilting back up to peer down at you.
โ€œMy feelings for youโ€ฆ they are all-consuming. You surround me, like the tides of this very ocean,โ€ He points out to the vast sea to the side of you two.
He continues, โ€œand it hurts. I am in pain because I feel like I am drowning in it. And you arenโ€™t there. I dream of you, I think of you, I act like! Like my brother for you. You do not witness my loss of breath, my all that I give! For, you.โ€ย
He specifically targeted the fullness of his passion and annunciated in the last two words, hoping his point had finally gotten across to you. His face paints an exasperated expression, wounding you deeply.ย
Your brain is as much of a mess as the fishing nets you and Kiri had tried to untangle this morning. The clarity that leaches onto you feels all too antagonizing. Yโ€™n tries to reason, but he shakes his head again. Putting his hand over yours that still weighs on his shoulder.ย
As if the entire weight of an Ikran pressed into him. It was daunting and petrifying.ย
Treacherous at the seams.ย
He gulps and lets the gates flood. โ€œI know you are not dumb, far from it. Your mind is so fucking bright, that even I still get surprised by how you handle even the most mundane things. Even up to now, even if Iโ€™ve observed you hurdle through your daily activities constantly.โ€ย
Y/n whispers his name again, lips pulled to a frown and Loโ€™ak wants the sand beneath him to swallow him whole. But he must know.
โ€œI fear you are clueless though. Do you not see or feel how I do?โ€ He voices his prior thoughts.
The nail to the coffin.
He had never sounded so desperate before. Loโ€™ak had always been a spitfire of sorts, and sure he had his moments. Although this time he was pleading, yearning, and aching.ย
Somehow like a miracle, it was directed your way only.
You twist your head, gulping to try to muster up a source of confidence and understanding to power past this.
This is Loโ€™ak, the boy who barely left your side since finding each other. Your Loโ€™ak who you knew so well. Always there for him through thick and thin. The youngest son who looked up to his brother so fiercely, with a dad he could never seem to understand.
She looks up at him, properly and with conviction. โ€œI do see, I do feel. I do, all for you,โ€ Y/n begs to be heard, and his irises are blown.
He too never heard you so desperate.
Y/n embraces all that Loโ€™ak is, just like the very first time she laid her azure eyes on his.ย
โ€œI guess, I am just incapable of seeing the signs. I do not have any experience in thisโ€ฆarea of things.โ€ You shyly whisper at the end, cheeks flaming at what you hinted at.
Loโ€™aks eyebrows furrow. Heโ€™s trying to obtain some understanding as his thumb grazes the apple of your cheek before cupping the side of your face.
You see him. You really do.
โ€œI am usually only sought out for my intelligence, not of anything else. Loโ€™ak, no one has ever seen me in the light you seem to.โ€ Her eyes look wistful as if sheโ€™s been transferred back to past events.
For good measure, you add on, grumbling. โ€œMy parents arenโ€™t excellent examples to learn from either.โ€
Loโ€™ak croons, โ€œIโ€™m sorry.โ€
You grin up at him, and this time something shined. Loโ€™ak did not know if it was his heart or the slight difference in your expression, but there was something new mingling in the air.
His thoughts become fried as you tilt your head further up, balancing on the tip of your toes. Loโ€™aks hand almost slips from its grasp on your face. However, now youโ€™re really close. Lips hovering over his as you coo, โ€œPlease accept this apology for making you so infuriated.โ€
Not only did you whisk his thoughts away, but his very breath too. You kiss him, this time being the first one to take action. It almost ceases the boy's heart altogether, you took this leap for him. For the future of you both.
As you retract from him, a pleading whine fell from the boy in front of you as he raced to chase your lips.
Y/n giggles at his actions, admiring the boy in front of her.
By Eywa, you were indeed a clueless fool.
The eyes who looked into yours now were so unlatched, expressing everything else he couldnโ€™t say in words. That was the same gaze he gave you the very first time youโ€™d see each other at the start of the day, and all throughout until the end. Awaiting to repeat itself the following day.
โ€œIโ€™ll only accept your apology after you let me have a few more kisses.โ€ He interrupts your intrusive thoughts, and you could only laugh bashfully as you sink back into the entirety of him.
โ€œAlright, Loโ€™ak. Whatever you say goes, it seems.โ€ You mutter against his lips, and as youโ€™re brought into a second kiss. His hand settles at the back of your head, guiding you.ย
Y/n canโ€™t help but think, she wouldnโ€™t mind learning about the ways of love with him. Whether that was through actions or words. Even a simple passing look.ย
Just like he listened and learned your ways of the Metkayina clan. Youโ€™d do the same because now you see. Now you can finally observe what makes Loโ€™ak so incredible.ย
Itโ€™s how he bestowed love so boundlessly.
