I'm honestly extremely excited to further develop this AU! Progress is slow-especially cause i'm mostly focusing on Donna rn and i've just started college-but I really wanna turn this into smth cool and make as much content as I can for it! I'd hope to some day make lil comics for it and at least have some sort of fic written for the AU. Though i'd be just as happy if I only ever get asks XD Anything that gets me to at least talk about it, doodle, and further develop ideas XDD The motivation and joy that come from knowing other people like the idea is great fuel (aside from my own enjoyment and obsession with it PFFT)

As for the others!!!- More info on them under the cut!!!(I wrote way more than intended LOL i'm figuring things out as i'm writing pfft-)

I see all of them as like board members for the school. Leading and managing it at the highest level right under Miranda who ofc is the headmistress(might come up with a different title, still in development). Let's get into a few quick details about the other Lords though! Do note that not much worldbuilding has gone on so types of magic and what is taught at the school is still in the works. Quite literally everything is still in VERY early development so expect changes

Alcina Dimitrescu

Definitely a professor! Of what..? Well uh....i'm still working on it! XD Perhaps of a music related magic? (Resident Lover shows Alcina as the art professor and while I think it's a great choice for her, I don't want to just hop onto the same idea.) I don't really see much about Alcina's relationship with music so perhaps I can do something for it through this AU :) Either that or a "dark arts" type thing? Necromancy and shadow related things? I'll be honest i'm slightly leaning towards darker arts...especially for plot reasons...

A vampire- ofc she is PFFT, the Dimi Daughters are also vampires(whether they're her biological children or were willingly converted is still in development)

She's every teacher that complains about other teacher's methods and classrooms

Karl Heisenberg

In charge of school security! He's technically supposed to be teaching students about combat and taking in certain students for a guard internships but he has an assistant who does the actual teaching for him LOL He's just there to occasionally be the face and the muscle of the program XD Though he does do some actual teaching for that program, he's more about demonstrating and correcting students he observes(he also just mostly is interested in the security interns)

Now because his assistant handles most things related to the combat courses/guard internships he actually teaches a second class with a different assistant. It's metal/machine based and as it's more a deep passion of his he actually takes it more seriously and prefers to do more of the teaching himself. All his assistants and deputies just make it more manageable for him to be taking care of multiple things like this. He actually spends the most time and effort on this class.

Is a Lycan! They can't turn into wolves or convert others though (a good portion of the school's security is actually lycans)

His magic is also a work in progress, though in this AU in general I want to have some who mostly just focus on mastering one form of magic and those who are experienced in multiple. Obviously the more types you focus on (that aren't considered more basic/general stuff ex. lighting a candle with a snap, animating an object to do a simple task, ect.) the less you master each. I would like him to possible specialize in more than one but we'll see how things go!

Salvatore Moreau

I actually imagine he'd be a professor of healing related magic or a beastmaster, and also supervising a program about experimental magic

Moreau

As Moreau isn’t the easiest on the eyes he admires all kinds of beauty. He doesn’t care about gender or anything like that his admiration of your beauty goes deeper than that. He loves how your eyes shine when you’re really passionate about something and could listen to you talk forever because the lilts of your voice are incredible to him.

Kindness is the most important thing to Sal, he is bullied a lot by his other siblings so he finds your gentleness so comforting he could fall for you on the spot.

My poor boy is touch starved and is always in need of cuddles. He thinks you give the warmest hugs. His favourite way to hold you is with his head on your chest so he can hear your heartbeat.

He gets on like a wildfire with introverted people because he is also one. His idea of fun isn’t a social gathering and he just wants someone to cuddle with and watch a movie in the comfort of his home.

He loves that you’re real with him and don’t speak to him like he’s stupid or a child.

Donna

She loves your compassion for other people and understanding of her problems and coping mechanisms. You don’t mock her for needing Angie and are patient when times are tough for her.

She thinks your imagination is amazing and wants to hear all about your dreams. She loves all kinds of art and if you have an artistic flair she will adore you

She thinks you are a good listener and is ecstatic to find someone who will let her talk for ages about her dolls and their personalities without telling her to be quiet.

She values intelligence and loves her companion to be well read or analytical. Will love you more every time you solve one of her puzzles.

Her love for beauty is more on the typically feminine side. You can’t be too brash or aggressive around her even in jest because it will make her anxious

She really appreciates that you don’t pressure her into anything, especially things concerning her face or clothing. She prefers to stay covered and needs the people around her to respect that.

Heisenberg

Is in love with your resilience. He knows he can be an asshole and is amazed that you stay every time he snaps or pushes you away.

Loves that you’re not a snob or a prude like his sister and have no problem getting your hands dirty and helping in the factory. He doesn’t want a partner who sits around doing nothing, he wants them to enjoy the work he does too.

Playfulness and a thick skin are important to him in the people he chooses to be around. He makes jokes that maybe go too far and if you’re upset by that then he’s not the guy for you. He loves that you respond to his sarcasm with plenty of your own and loves when you talk back to him.

He loves your power and sense of justice. Watching you argue about something you believe in and threaten those who oppose your morals may have him pitching a tent downstairs. He likes defiance and wants a warrior to stand by his side in his battle against Miranda.

A big appetite is important to him. He likes you to have a few extra rolls to squeeze and doesn’t give a flying fuck about manners. He eats like an animal and loves when you join in.

You gotta enjoy weird shit both In and out of the bedroom because he’s a creative type and likes things that other people think are odd. If you’re considered an outsider or a freak by polite society he wants you here right now!

He likes that you smell good because he always smells like oil, metal and sweat.

Lady Dimitrescu

Loves your courage. You aren’t afraid of her when others would be. She intimidates you but you refuse to leave and she loves that

Is impressed by your honesty, liars are her least favourite kind of people.

You have respect for the proper way to do things and she shares this mentality.

You are kind and act as a friend to her daughters, she is so grateful for that.

You are sensitive to her mood changes and take pleasure in keeping her in a god mood, this makes her feel cared for and as the matriarch of the household she doesn’t get that a lot.

You are so small she thinks it’s adorable how you fit perfectly in her lap.

Your loyalty means everything to her and she needs a soft presence to lean on when her world is demanding.

You make her feel sexy, she did not believe that mortals would enjoy the physique of such a tall woman and her brother mocks her for her height so the fact that you are so in awe of her makes her feel good.

You don’t expect her to be more than she is. She’s immortal now but was human once and has stress and insecurities just like the others. She loves that you understand that.

Vanitas no Carte – 22 – Période Bleue

And so we descend into the heretofore untold story of Vanitas, AKA Number 69. He’d already been one of Dr. Moreau’s child experiments/torture victims when poor little Misha arrived. But rather than keep his head down and endure Misha’s screams, he volunteered to undergo the procedure in Misha’s place. Moreau, the quintessential mad scientist, is moved by his gesture.

So is Misha, who is pretty well-adjusted for someone who had already endured untold sexual assaults by his mother’s wealthier clients. Despite his aloof demeanor, Vanitas becomes a reluctant protective big brother to Misha. In a first act full of darkness and unspeakable cruelty and evil, it was nice to see these two children could find a moment’s warm relief under their dingy blanket.

I’ve long not been a fan of Moreau for always looking like the extra-stylized/simplified/cartoony version that other characters sometimes slip into for moments of levity. But after watching him this week do the things he does with a smile, it absolutely adds to the terror surrounding the character. He is an unhinged Mad Hatter with a Cheshire Cat grin. To his eyes, this grim, brutal world is a magical paradise of innovation.

I also felt a deep pressure in my stomach watching the “ordinary” human researchers doing Moreau’s bidding without emotion. You get the feeling they’re not under any duress (i.e. Moreau keeping their families hostage) but simply doing their jobs and following orders like good proto-Nazis. Moreau is outwardly mad, but they must be too to be able to do what they do to Vanitas and Misha.

Fortunately, they receive swift justice when Moreau’s procedure to convert the boys into “quasi-members” of the Blue Moon Clan so he can open the two Books of Vanitas. The resulting explosions kill everyone and leave Moreau crippled, and the mysterious black-skinned, white-haired vampire who claims responsibility for the chaos is primed to leave…until Misha begs them to take them with them…and when given the choice, Vanitas agrees to go with them too.

When the mysterious person introduces themselves as the Vampire of the Blue Moon, Vanitas’ chasseur training kicks in, asking them what they’re doing. They simply reply that they are helping them, since they asked for help. All of the exhaustion and the stress of the procedure catches up to Vanitas, and he passes out.

He comes to in a comfy bed of one of the vampire’s human acquaintances. When Vanitas asks how that’s possible, the vamp makes it clear that the more occult-aligned folks have always preferred consorting with vampires than the church. When the vamp asks Vanitas why he was calling out for his mother, he tells the story of what happened to his parents.

He was the bastard child of a successful doctor who abandoned his old family for his mother, a performer at some kind of traveling show. He says his mother died giving birth to him, and when vampires attacked, his father died protecting him. When the church and then Moreau took him in, he learned that humans were far more terrifying monsters than the vampires he’d spent his life loathing.

More importantly to understanding Vanitas’ character through all that tragedy and pain is the fact that he never tried to escape Moreau’s clutches for the same reason he tried to protect Misha: because he didn’t want someone else to experience that pain and trauma in his place. He is, as the vampire says, “a truly kind child”.

And yet even in the present Vanitas believes he’s no one who should be loved. In this act, we see the vampire who will later be known as Luna, Vanitas, and Misha becoming a family. We learn that Vanitas soon surpassed cooking and cleaning skills, while they made sure Vanitas and Misha got both an education and the opportunity to be boys and have fun.

But Luna knew that it couldn’t last like this for long, as both Vanitas and Misha would one day succumb to the strains against the natural world caused by Moreau’s experiments on them. So they offered their adoptive sons a choice: die as humans when the time comes (which could be in days or years), or become official members of the Blue Moon Clan when Luna turns them.

We know that Vanitas chose to live his remaining days as a vampire, even if it meant dying tomorrow. This, despite saying humans are the ultimate monsters. It’s as if he knows he could only right the wrongs of humanity by remaining a human as he began his crusade of healing curse-bearers, thus bearing his own self-imposed curse, a product of his deep-seated kindness.

As for Misha…whether he is still human or not isn’t as important as what he’s after, and how he’s willing to hurt Vanitas to get it. Misha’s already done far more than Vanitas would typically forgive, sharing memories of their past with Noé. Noe and Vanitas’ relationship has been irrevocably altered. How will Vanitas respond to these actions by his long-lost kid brother?
