"What?" James lifts up his head from his school desk to find you hovering over him, hand on your hips and face full of challenge.

"Carry me with one arm."

"No."

"Why? Is it because you're weak?"

"Not like this!"

"I'm doing it, aren't I?" comes his voice from somewhere behind you. "I'm not using anything."

He's not wrong. Having heaved you over his shoulder in a fireman's lift, and now leaving you to balance precariously while he stands with one hand in his pocket, and the other twirling the lollipop in his mouth.

You can't see his face but you know for certain he is looking unbearably smug.

"Put me down!"

Talk about manhandling. James grabbed you with one hand, curling it around your waist and lifting you effortlessly until you're left parallel with the ground. You're tucked snug under his armpit and into his side like you weighed hardly anything.

Like an exasperated parent with an errant baby. This is not the vibe you were going for.

"Fine."

"W-wait!"

The fall was no more than a few feet. It hurts your pride way more than your body.

You slap the lollipop out of his hand as payback.

James just pulls a fresh one from his pocket.

"Damn, you really are strong."

"I know." James flashes you a smirk, lollipop poking between his fangs.

He gives you a small bounce, adjusting his arm beneath you, hand lightly gripping your thigh. You tip off-balance, ever so slightly, and throw your own arms around his neck for support.

This. This is what you wanted.

"I know what you're doing." His voice is completely flat except the glimmer in his eyes gives away his fondness for you.

"And?" Well if James knows, then you make no secret of your next move, snuggling up close to him and feeling his huff of laughter on your cheek.

He eases, a little. Not familiar with gentle touches, not familiar with this forwardness. It's not what he's used to, but it's not not nice. Maybe he can get used to it.

"And nothing."

out of everyone in lookism, na jaegyeon is one of the few who is a truly fascinating character.

na jaegyeon in the past: pushover, has his car ruined multiple times and is made fun of, is irritable but doesn't desire to fight anybody

na jaegyeon now: still irritable, extremely sensitive about his car, willing to at the very least restrain somebody, said to have a very intimidating aura, still doesn't prefer full-blown fights and walks away

they bullied my man so bad, he had to change his personality. he became harder and more intimidating, at least on the outside, while james lee became more soft and genuine. i wonder if their fight is the reason . . .

also @whateverberry said what if james stole something from him that is not visible? i was thinking about this. aside from the obvious, i'm thinking maybe he stole an organ. or maybe nothing at all.

i also had this very random thought of jaegyeon having fibromyalgia. but then i thought, he prefers not fighting and was sitting down next to james. maybe there is a teeny tiny possibility he has an illness and james simply didn't want to take from him, same as jichang. probably not tho haha.

Judging from her reaction, because let's face it - she isn't that good of an actress, she really didn't see him there.

Such is your radiance that you can cast most people into shadow. Even DG. It's both a superpower and a curse.

He bites back a sigh, "It's fine-"

"Can I have your number?"

What the...? Aru holds out her phone to you, completely ignoring him and his earlier words.

"Aru Lee," DG observes her with blatant hostility, not even caring to keep up niceties, "I said he's with me."

As if to prove a point, he wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you into his body.

An impromptu cuddle with your boyfriend? You weren't going to complain, although you give Aru a sympathetic look at her misunderstanding.

"Oh! I'm so sorry I didn't know!"

"No. You didn't." DG weighs up her usefulness. Sure she brings in ok revenue but not enough for him to really care about keeping her on.

"Hey," you whisper into his ear, breaking up his train of thought, breath ghosting over his skin, "Don't be mean."

Ugh. Sometimes it's eerie how well you can read him. Fine. Fine.

"You can go," he calls out to Aru, not even bothering to look in her direction.

Instead, he's captivated by your expression, all soft and soppy and goddamn adorable.

DG fears he may give in to you too much, but if this is what he gets in return... Perhaps it's worth it.

I'm not sure if PTJ is leading Daniel towards that path of him becoming the new "James Lee", since he is a self-righteous character who seeks truth.

Even though I find this moment to be very cool, I worry that Daniel might create more enemies for himself and I hope he doesn't kill anyone then spiral into long-term guilt like James Lee.
