Pizzicato Five 空飛ぶ理科教室 (Flying science class)

from the live jazz-oriented Readymade Recordings ep, the fourth in the “Five by Pizzicato Five” series leading up to the legendary This Year’s Girl. this song, written by keitaro takanami (P5′s underrated but very important co-founder, in the band until 1994) and arty folk hero morio agata and sung by the former, is a wonderful wispy number anchored by keitaro’s airy vocals. along with the lyrics it floats gracefully and evokes a lot of wonder and beauty. i love it.
